Not in London but work there. Definitely getting the hot thing - the cats follow me around and want to sit on me all the time, I think I must be radiating like a furnace! Still sleeping ok though - fingers x'd that continues.

DH is being so sweet - it's our first and he's always wanted DC so he is being super solicitous and is so obviously over the moon. Hope that continues when I'm actually huge and bloated and needing help Grin

To all of you fretting after previous mc - don't worry about saying so, the point of this thread is mutual hand-holding, yes?

littlebbunny · 12/05/2015 08:22

Had my early scan. I'm 5+6. Saw the most beautiful thing, it's heart flickering away. Still early days but just thankful it's not an ectopic. I can now relax a little. My doctor has been amazing checking up and making sure things are going well.

littlebbunny · 12/05/2015 08:25

jmac88 Hope you're appointment goes well. Thinking of you.

coffeenut · 12/05/2015 08:28

yay bunny!!!! How exciting! I'm 5+6 too today, imagining there is already a heart and heart beat is quite amazing.

Good luck to fizzy for today too.

goodnessgraciousgouda · 12/05/2015 08:29

Little - that's amazing news on your scan - congrats!!! I didn't even know it was possible to do early scans in the 5th week!! I thought it started at the end of week six! Isn't modern technology amazing? I hope that you feel like you can relax a little now.

I had my blood tests today. God it was horrible. I am genuinely terrible with blood tests anyway, but since in the UK we don't hold our own medical records, they had to do extra tests since I couldn't prove things like blood type. I get the results tomorrow, and I'm really excited to see my HGC levels! (Come on twins!!)

It looks like it's going to take a few weeks before I can added to my husband's social security, so I will have to wait a while before my first appointment with a gynaecologist. Ergo, no early scan for me. Very jealous of all you ladies being able to get them though!!!

Lookingforadvice123 · 12/05/2015 08:38

Great news on your scan littlebunny! Amazing that there was a heartbeat at less than 6 weeks!

I feel a bit silly now as it looks like everyone who's paying for an early scan has had a mc. This is the 1st time I've been pregnant but I'm
Just so anxious (I suffer with anxiety anyway) and it doesn't help that literally everyone we know recently who's been pregnant has had a mc. Think I will aim for a scan next Friday, when I will be 7 weeks 4 days. They should be able to see something then shouldn't they? Another thing I'm worried about is going for an early scan only for it to be too early for them to see anything, which will then make me worry even more until the 12 week scan!

CarrotVan · 12/05/2015 09:07

That's amazing littleb - that's really early to see a heart beat so clearly a strong bean in there

littlebbunny · 12/05/2015 09:21

Thanks ladies, like I said still early days but certainly a little more relaxed.

The lady doing the scan was lovely. I walked in with a full bladder, it was hard work trying not to pee. Once the normal scan was done quickly and saw the sac, I was then able to empty my bladder and do a transvaginal scan which allowed us to see the heart flickering away. I've seen the northern lights and thought that was the most amazing thing ever but this beats it by far hands down.

Looking Dont feel silly at all. At over 7 weeks, I'm sure you be able to see more than what I saw. There won't be a need for a transvaginal scan. You probably have something that tells you the development of the fetus/foetus week by week but here's more if you're interested: www.thebump.com/pregnancy-week-by-week

Lookingforadvice123 · 12/05/2015 09:35

I've got three different pregnancy apps littlebunny! Blush apparently baby is currently the size of a grain of rice, or a lentil!

Can I ask why you had an early scan, and was it private?

The heartbeat is what I'm really anxious to see. I should be able to see that at 7 weeks 4 days shouldn't I?

littlebbunny · 12/05/2015 09:54

Looking I'm actually in Aus visiting family, I found out I was pregnant while holidaying here, in fact I had my mc here and got pregnant right after. I saw our family doctor and she recommended I do the scan right away, plus I complained about my sides and wanted to rule out ectopic.
If you're dates are right then you should definitely see a heart beat. I'm going in for another scan on the 24th. This is my second child btw. My DS is a teenager, yes there will be a huge cap! Hopefully this little bean sticks around.

littlebbunny · 12/05/2015 09:55

Gap not cap!

impatientlywaiting · 12/05/2015 10:21

Congratulations Littleb, sounds amazing. So wonderful to see. Xx

impatientlywaiting · 12/05/2015 11:02

Just called up to book in my free scan, and they are fully booked before my holiday! Gutted, but it's probably for the best, if officially be 7 weeks then, but I know I would actually only be 6+2, and if I didn't see a HB because it was too early I would probably worry my whole holiday.

Booked in for 6th June, when I'll be 9 weeks.

Anyone in the North East area, it's called Tyneside Pregnancy Advice centre - primary purpose as a Christian charity encouraging women to continue with pregnancies, but to keep scanner's skills up to date offer free volunteer scans to anyone between 6-20 weeks pregnancy. Info on their website it's local to anyone else.

loveulotslikejellytots · 12/05/2015 11:20

I'm tempted to book a private one. First pregnancy, no reason as such to want one, I'm just impatient! Plus my nausea has ramped up a notch yesterday and today, my sense of smell has gone supersonic and I'm horrendously bloated. DH is convinced it's twins, I'd kinda like an early scan to either rule that in or out! Grin

goodnessgraciousgouda · 12/05/2015 11:56

Is anyone at all waiting until the 12 week scan here, rather than going for an early one?

Can;t blame anyone for going earlier (I would if I could!!) but just wondering if anyone else has got ages to go. I won't be having a scan until week commencing 22nd or 29th of June! Feels like MOONS away.

Mummyofonesofar · 12/05/2015 12:01

Goodness my scan will probably be around the same time as yours, I am 6w+2. I enquired about a private scan and it is £75! and you get £15 off a later 4D scan (which we will be doing) but we just can't justify spending all that money.

OTheHugeManatee · 12/05/2015 12:10

What are everyone's symptoms? When is the nausea supposed to kick in? Apart from being a bit of a space cadet, and feeling like I'm always slightly too hot, I feel basically OK at the moment. Is there a point where it usually gets more noticeable?

Not that I want anything more dramatic to happen but as a first-time I'm just wondering of those of you that are veterans, what was your experience last time round?

Mummyofonesofar · 12/05/2015 12:13

I had sickness from 3-6 months. 6 weeks now and no sickness yet, was very tired weeks 4-6 but feeling alive again now. Had some pink spotting when I wiped last night with a dot of red but trying not to panic too much - nothing today.

Lookingforadvice123 · 12/05/2015 12:15

gouda if I wait for my NHS scan I will be round the same time, as I'll be exactly 12 weeks on Mondsy 22nd June. Not seeing the midwife for 2 weeks so I'll get my scan date then.

There's a place in Cardiff where private early scans are £40, if anyone is based in South Wales. Don't think I would do it if it was more than £50 tbh. I've actually started to feel sickly today which has made me happy believe it or not! It's only very mild, I've had it for the last couple of days where it's just waves of mild nausea rather than constant.

What's everyone else like in terms of sickness? Mad how everyone's symptoms are so different even though we're all due round the same time.

CarrotVan · 12/05/2015 12:16

I'm not planning to book an early scan gouda so it will be tail end of June for me as well. I did have a 4D scan in the third trimester with my son and it was lovely - especially for MrVan.

If you shop around you can get early reassurance scans (7-11 weeks) for as little as £40 though

manatee I think it was 8-10 weeks when I felt worst in the first trimester. I didn't have much morning sickness at all though. Only threw up twice

Joey0805 · 12/05/2015 12:19

I'm in London...

I've told no one at all yet; I am planning on telling my closest girlfriends after my 7 week scan and am basically being a hermit until then. Have had to do so much work based booze dodging - it's exhausting! I don't have the energy to lie in my social life too!

Mummyofonesofar · 12/05/2015 12:21

I would do it for £40, but being in rural Cumbria - we don't have much choice around here!! It is pay up or go without.

OTheHugeManatee · 12/05/2015 12:22

It's much easier if you live outside London and commute, as you can always just say vaguely 'oh, I have to drive...' Wink

headlesschicken247 · 12/05/2015 12:32

I'm debating an early scan although I may just wait. I had an early scan at 8 weeks with last and saw heartbeat. But them mc at 12 weeks confirmed at scan. I'm not sure if I could go through that hope again. I think the chance of having to have another TV scan would be too depressing so I'll wait for 12 weeks where a normal scan would pick it up even with my tilted uterus!!!

EdgarAllenPoe · 12/05/2015 12:33

Never mind an early scan, I don't even get a contact number for a midwife until she rings me some time during week 10. Apparently they don't give out the midwife numbers where I live. Is that standard?

I am lucky in one thing though. I don't drink alcohol or tea or coffee primarily because I just don't like to. So no-one has noticed any changes in behaviour.

Had my first wretch this morning - sort of pleased but not!
