Just popping in quickly to say hi. EDD 12 jan so 5 weeks tomorrow. Hi to Gouda and just Looking! And hi to brickiemum too, you were on a mc board I was on in March and you were lovely!

Twiddling thumbs, twiddling thumbs, breathing deeply....

CarrotVan · 11/05/2015 17:20

Congratulations hotfudge and niffertiti

jmac I've never heard of septate uterus - what is it?

FizzyPinkWine · 11/05/2015 18:26

Welcome to all the new people! It's good to have you here. Smile
I've done 4 tests (so far...!) The line has got darker and come up quicker with each of them progressively.
Have got an early scan tomorrow. I'm six weeks today, so hoping to see a heartbeat. Although, with my son I was a week behind, due to my long cycle. So I'm terrified of there being no heartbeat, will just bring back dreadful memories of my mmc.
Will let you know how it goes.

Lookingforadvice123 · 11/05/2015 18:30

Hi niffertitti! And hi/congrats to all the newly preggo.

fizzypinkwine good luck for your scan tomorrow! Xx

CarrotVan · 11/05/2015 18:45

Good luck fizzy

goodnessgraciousgouda · 11/05/2015 19:09

Niff - That's brilliant news ms viroid!!!! I didn't see you get your bfp and we have practically the same dates (I am 5+2 today).

The grads thread is brilliant as well, but they were so much further in their pregnancies that it felt a bit awkward there as it's still early.

Wow, so awesome!!!

loveulotslikejellytots · 11/05/2015 19:50

Good luck tomorrow fizzy xx

MaybeMrsMum2016 · 11/05/2015 19:55

Good luck for your scan fizzy. Hope all goes well!

Was hoping to tell DH's parents about little bean this evening but there were always other people in the room who we don't want to know just yet. So frustrating!

Welcome to the new ladies!

OTheHugeManatee · 11/05/2015 20:04

Who has told families yet? We haven't, as we only found out today and want it to be just for us, for a bit. Also SIL is due today or any day now and we don't want her not to be the centre of attention iyswim. I don't really know how long it's normal to wait before telling the world, what do others do?

CarrotVan · 11/05/2015 20:12

Two of my sisters guessed and are sworn to secrecy. We'll wait until the 12 weeks scan to tell people unless my MIL guesses when we stay with her at the end of the month. I'll not tell work until 4 months if I can avoid it

BlueEspoir · 11/05/2015 20:22

I've told a couple of very close friends (really the ones who helped me through my mc in March). We're going to hang on a week or so to tell the family - just want to see what my HCG levels are doing this week before I let everyone else get excited (again). I will probably tell my boss then too as she knew about my mc (and was supportive) - if not she will guess and there doesn't seem to be much point in hiding it (as if anything went wrong, I would need her support again). Other than those people, I think we will wait until 12 weeks although I'm due to be seeing a group of girlfriends on Friday night and I am sure they will guess when I decline alcohol!

MaybeMrsMum2016 · 11/05/2015 20:23

We got a definite positive test last monday/tuesday. Told someone at work when she sort of guessed on thursday. Told my parents on saturday. Wasn't going to say anything so soon but I was meeting a friend for pizza and 'wine'. Obviously she was going to find out when I couldn't drink, and I wanted my mum to know sooner. Boss at work also knows, and I think that's it.

Lookingforadvice123 · 11/05/2015 20:32

We've told quite a few people now but still keeping it secret. I told my best friend of over 20 years the day after finding out - she's travelling and I was just too excited. Then told my sister when I was nearly 5 weeks as we were staying with her and thought she'd guess when I didn't drink,

I ended up telling another close friend on Friday, sort of slipped out! She's an old work colleague so it was easier as she's not in my other "groups" of friends. Then told both sets of parents on Sunday, dh has also told his best friend. I'm only 6 weeks, so no telling anyone else now!

goodnessgraciousgouda · 11/05/2015 20:54

Manatee - I don't think that there's any "normal" time to tell others, it's basically what you are comfortable with. I didn't want my husband's friends to know, but they all guessed when I went to a sodding party on Saturday (which I am still sulking about). We didn't really confirm anything though.

I've told two people - my best friend (who I told today), and a friend of my husband's who I needed to ask something which I couldn't avoid.

We are waiting until after the 12 week scan before we tell anyone else.

It's really hard not to tell my mum, but since it would be her first grandchild, I want to be as sure as possible before I say anything.

Some people tell the world and his dog the moment their wee has hit the stick.

There's no right or wrong approach :)

Blackandwhitecat3 · 11/05/2015 21:03

Hello and congratulations to everyone! There's been a lot of action!

I'm totally with carrot on the multiple testing - I tested every day last week just to seat my mind at rest that I was still pregnant.

Today I'm 5 weeks exactly. Apparently that's peppercorn size. DH is being very supportive and interested and probably googles more information than I do.

V tired so looking forward to early bed. Thanks for the hot milk bras tip, they look v good. Will have to treat myself...

littlebbunny · 11/05/2015 21:43

Good luck on the scan Fizzy

Welcome to the new arrivals.

Anyone having horrible sleep? Can't sleep well and extremely exhausted throughout the day. My cramps seem to only happen in the evenings, they are more like cramps from gas (sorry tmi). I find it so uncomfortable.

I've told my mother and 2 other close friend for support especially if I don't get through this. I find it hard to relax everytime I get a cramp on one side and using the toilet is an excuse to check my knickers. Wished I could completely relax and enjoy this. Sorry about the negative vibes ladies, maybe my mood will change tomorrow.

CarrotVan · 11/05/2015 21:52

I find I get super hot at night and wake up drenched with sweat. I'm bloating massively in the evenings too. I'm knackered and worried that I'm developing the grey tinge of early pregnancy exhaustion - work will Doug that a mile off!

Lookingforadvice123 · 11/05/2015 21:57

littlebunny I'm not sleeping well at night but then am knackered all afternoon/evening. Then come nighttime I can't sleep again!

Don't worry about the negative vibes I'm so negative right now Sad feel bad as I don't want to bring dh down or ruin the excitement.

Seriously considering paying £50 for an early scan, is anyone else doing this? 6 weeks wait until the 12 week scan feels like an eternity.

mrsfazruns · 11/05/2015 22:16

Lookingforadvice I'm paying for scan at 7 weeks .... But only because I had a MMC in December and really just want to settle my mind!!! 12 week scan not booked untill 29th jun and just feel like thats forever away!!! X

Yokyil · 11/05/2015 22:19

Felt like I've trapped wind near all day - feel so uncomfortable! Confused like someone had wrapped a tight belt right round my middle. 1st doc appointment today to get in the system - she's going to suggest an early scan & if theres one available then fair enough!! Bloods to get taken on Friday Grin joy!! Hope everyone is okay Smile

Niffertiti · 11/05/2015 22:28

Hi Gouda! EDD buddies, that's cool!

Looking I'm paying for an early scan at 7 weeks and one at 10/11 weeks. I had MC in March so I'm super paranoid. And we're going on holiday in week 12 so I want to be sure everything is fine before then... I'll cancel it if nhs scan gets booked in before then.

coffeenut · 12/05/2015 00:48

I'm seeing my ob at 8 weeks (28th May) and from memory she looked for a heartbeat and did a very basic scan with her own machine. I hope that's the case again.

Welcome to all of the newcomers and congrats! It looks like Jan will be a busy month. Will need stats by the end of the month I think, as I can't keep up.

I'm also wary of POAS because like looking said, you can miscarry and still get a positive as the hormone is still present for a while afterwards (this depends a lot on how far along you are though).

Re Hot Milk bras .... I bought an uber sexy one and it was really uncomfortable!! It had no stretch and either dug in badly or slipped around everywhere. I'm sure they make good ones and bad ones though. Mine was similar to this www.hotmilklingerie.com/collections/nursing-bras/products/chic-pink

Blackandwhitecat3 · 12/05/2015 02:35

It's reassuring to hear I'm not the only one hot and sleepless at night!

MaybeMrsMum2016 · 12/05/2015 06:06

Looking I'm similar to you with sleep. Knackered pretty much all day, escpecially the evenings, but suddenly feel wide awake as soon as I lay down. Was like this yesterday and I was tossing and turning all night.

No nighttime trips to th toilet yet though! Grin

jmac88 · 12/05/2015 07:08

Carrotvan it's sometimes called a heart shaped uterus. When your uterus has a dip in the top which alters the shape. The dip has no blood supply so if the baby embeds itself to that part it will most likely miscarry. Have my GP app this morning so will ask for an early scan to see where it has embedded so at least I can be prepared!

I'm finding it really difficult not telling people. Don't want to yet but have lots of alcohol related social events and used to be a social smoker so will be quite obvious to everyone!

Had to get up twice to wee in the night last night! Ugh!

Anybody in London?
