Yes brickie! D'oh chalk it up to pregnancy forgetfulness... Grin

Blackandwhitecat3 · 10/05/2015 22:45

roller does being pregnant stop your brain working properly? Mine seems to be on strike and refusing to work!

Rollermum · 10/05/2015 22:48

Yeah a bit. I keep forgetting what I'm doing and putting things in the wrong places. Confused

Chip86 · 10/05/2015 23:01

Hey everyone!! Just thought is check in ..... Love catching up on how everyone is doing!!

Anyone else suffering from vivid dreams ..... Mine are awful!! Dreamt DH had an affair because I was sleeping too much .... Woke up convinced it was true!!! X

coffeenut · 11/05/2015 04:47

Argh so I just read this article about herbal teas ...

here

Back to the drawing board to curb the cravings. Hot water with milk maybe?

I've been having awful dreams - yy to DH having an affair! Also had dreams where I use a CB digi and it says "not pregnant" ...

MaybeMrsMum2016 · 11/05/2015 06:09

Last night I had a horrible vivid dream. I live in a really hilly area and in the dream I could see houses collapsing mexican-wave style heading towards me (as if there were mini earthquakes or sinkholes under them) and the only thing I could save from my house was my phone but I didn't have a charger! I was allowed to back in the house after but it was teetering on the edge of a huge hole.

Was difficult to get back to sleep after that!

Rollermum · 11/05/2015 06:32

Glad I'm not the only one having the vivid dreams this early. So weird.

littlebbunny · 11/05/2015 07:11

Yeah my dreams are just as strange even when its only a 15minute nap. I wake up often thinking wtf!

TeaandCake91 · 11/05/2015 07:15

Please can someone talk to me about bras? I'm usually a 34a and wear under wired with a bit of padding. I'm about to fall out of my usual bras and the under wiring is starting to dig in (probably all the bread and potatoes that I'm eating to keep the nausea at bay!). So ... do I buy maternity bras (6 weeks seems too early ) buy bigger non maternity bras or buy better supporting non maternity bras in my usual size? I can't make decisions at all at the moment and no one on rl knows.

Blackandwhitecat3 · 11/05/2015 07:27

Hi tea if the underwires are digging in then that's a sure sign your bra is too small. I have enormous bazookas quite big boobs anyway so my bra size has changed a lot over the years - I've just pulled out of the cupboard some bigger bras I had before I lost some weight - they seem to fit perfectly!

I would go to marks, JL or debenhams and get measured, I think you will be fine in a normal bra in a bigger size. Tell the fitter that you are pregnant - your boobs are likely to grow some more - that's a side effect of pregnancy whether you put weight on or not!

loveulotslikejellytots · 11/05/2015 07:46

Tea - my usual bras are too small now, 5+1. I haven't been able to get to somewhere for a bra fitting yet, but I picked a bra up in asda last week, it's called soft and comfy. It looks like a crop top, no underwire and it's not as brutal as a sports bra. Just quite comfy. They come in small, medium large etc. not cup sizes. It was only £6 I think. It'll do the job until I can get a proper maternity one anyway!

CarrotVan · 11/05/2015 07:52

coffee I'd give a big health warning to any American sites - they are so risk averse and scaremongering. All that article says is that no-one has done a double blind clinical trial on herbal teas for pregnant women. The only common one I'd avoid is raspberry leaf.

That being said you can get pure dried peppermint leaves or just use fresh mint with hot water, or a bit of grated ginger in hot water

tea you might find just wearing non-wired bras is enough if you don't need the support. If you do get maternity ones then if you're thinking of breast feeding make sure you get ones with the clips as not all maternity ones have them. And for attractive maternity bras Hot Milk do gorgeous (££££) stuff

Congratulations blackandwhite and roller and anyone I've missed

I've just walked round the shop by the station trying to find something that looked palatable for lunch. I failed.

6 weeks today! Still pregnant, lines on ICs not getting darker, stress level not reducing, caffeine withdrawal headaches in full swing. At least the toddler is better

AlohaMama · 11/05/2015 08:42

I hate the clothes issue of pregnancy. Dressing every day/week is difficult due to constantly changing size/shape/comfort issue. Currently struggling with all jeans being uncomfortable as the pressing on my middle makes me feel sick, but wearing loose tops and leggings accentuates the bloat and makes me look 5 months pregnant!! Safest just to hide at home in my pjs!

CarrotVan · 11/05/2015 08:49

I'm hoping the weather improves soon so I can wear dresses without tights for the next several months. I'm also going to have to get some new maternity jeans as the ones I have from last time are really knackered.

MC risk down to 8.4%. Still waiting for the midwives to write with my booking in appointment.

OTheHugeManatee · 11/05/2015 09:11

Can I join? Just got a bfp, due sometime in Jan. it's my first and I'm a bit Shock as well as GrinGrinGrin

CarrotVan · 11/05/2015 09:12

Congratulations Manatee

goodnessgraciousgouda · 11/05/2015 09:33

Congratulations Manatee!

coffee, I would totally agree with carrot that US sites tend to be the most melodramatic that you can find when it comes to anything health related. If you follow the collective advice of US sites you would basically be forbidden to drink anything but water for the entire nine months. Specially bottled organic mineral water at that.

The big ones to avoid are Penny Royal (which is a known abortifacient), Nettle, Liquorice, and anything based on Sage (who has ever seen Sage tea anyway?). The main thing about herbal teas is that you shouldn't be drinking them all day, every day. I've had two cups of chammomile since finding out I was pregnant. I've had two cups of peppermint as well.

Just limit your intake :-) And don't forget that white tea has caffeine in it!

We went to do some admin stuff today to sort out my healthcare over here. I have decided I want to go to a private clinic if all goes well, as it will be my first, and I won't be in the UK. I am 5+2 today and have to wait another four to five weeks before I can have the "early" scan. In the french system I am only 3 weeks pregnant.

brickiemum2 · 11/05/2015 09:51

I'm trying to book an early scan at epau/epas. I'm under the care of the recurrent miscarriage team and they advise a viability scan. Do you think I can get them to answer the phone though? Confused
I'm paranoid about slow rising hcg due to previous mmc. I might photo all my ic' s and see what you think..?

CarrotVan · 11/05/2015 09:56

My lines aren't getting much darker brickie - it makes me nervous

brickiemum2 · 11/05/2015 10:01

Af was due on the Thursday of this series so they range from 3+5 to 4+4

January 2016 Babies - anyone else out there?
CarrotVan · 11/05/2015 10:06

They look to be getting darker to me brickie

EdgarAllenPoe · 11/05/2015 10:07

Had my first appointment with the GP today, and was suitably underwhelmed as everyone here predicted. I for some reason expected they would do a pregnancy test rather than take my word for it. Filled in a form and now I just wait for the midwife to call me some time in week 10 for the booking in appointment. It seems a long way off especially with people talking about early scans.

I am still cramping every day. It's pretty horrible when it's happening. But I've had zero spotting, so I'm not too worried. Doctor says it's normal and to take paracetamol, which is ridiculous because it happens several times a day (and night) and I don't want to be taking paracetamol all day every day. I don't think he understood that it's sporadic and unpredictable. It's my first so I am assuming my womb is just not used to be pregnant. It's reassuring to read on here I'm not the only one with these cramps.

CarrotVan · 11/05/2015 10:19

You could easily get close to the 12 week scan and be making it all up. I'm not even sure they test for pregnancy when they take blood and urine samples at booking in

AlohaMama · 11/05/2015 10:37

Brickie I did one test last week and one this week and probably have a similar colour difference to you. It's definitely getting darker.
