yep I'm still freezing.

mummy DD2 was 8 lbs 15 in the end. Born 4 days before due date so I doubt she would have reached 10lbs in four days!

And yes I'm missing all of the contraband. Wine ... deli meat .... wine .... strong coffee.... urm .... soft cheese. I'm terrible.

Chip86 · 07/05/2015 05:08

Hi All hope you are all well
Please can I join in
We are very excited, I got my pfb on Sunday EDD date is 11 Jan, got doctors appointment on tuesday this is #2, DD is 11 months.
So far my simptoms have been a lot stronger, last time I did not really have any. Waking in the night to pee, so tired but cant sleep, crazy dreams already! Cold then night sweats (lovely), moody and cry at little thing like how beautiful DD is (stupid hormones).
Hoping everyone has a good 9 months Flowers

MaybeMrsMum2016 · 07/05/2015 06:13

Welcome Chip! And congrats Smile

I have an EDD twin! Grin

bearchomp · 07/05/2015 07:46

Welcome chip and big congratulations.
I still can't sleep, waking several times during the night, driving me bonkers!

I've had brown blood when wiping this morning, freaked me out a bit but trying to remember that its quite common and I also had it when pregnant with DS but it's easier to give advice than to take it Confused
Got a midwife appointment this afternoon so may mention it then.
Hope everyone else ok.

loveulotslikejellytots · 07/05/2015 09:17

Hope it all goes ok bearchomp. Like you say, verily likely to be nothing to worry about, but easier to give that advice than hear it.

impatientlywaiting · 07/05/2015 09:36

Yay, welcome Chip glad to see you in here - Chip and I are both in the May 2014 antenatal club too.

Good luck with the midwife appointment Bear and I know it's easier said than done but try not to worry about the spotting, especially as you had it before.

Went to the docs today. I have had low thyroid following birth of DS, so on medication. She made a referral for me to go to see the midwife and for consultant care because of my thyroid.

It's all starting to feel a bit real now, and after being pretty underwhelmed by it all I'm starting to get a bit excited. Although it is still scarily early days.
5+2 NHS and 4+4 based on when I know we DTD.

mrsfazruns · 07/05/2015 10:43

Did anyone else feel completely underwhelmed by first gp appointment??

CarrotVan · 07/05/2015 11:09

Yes mrsfaz unless you are medically interesting they really aren't bothered. I just self-referred to the midwives this time

Congratulations chips

Good luck bear

loveu I know people with high BMI who have had home births. Basically they got their midwives on board, were very cooperative with all the tests for gestational diabetes and managed their diet carefully. They were otherwise low risk and had straightforward pregnancies and it wasn't the first baby for any of them

loveulotslikejellytots · 07/05/2015 11:17

Carrot, this is my first though. And unfortunately my BMI is sky high. I came off contraception in December, I've lost 2.5 stone since then but I've still got another 6.5 stone to go to reach the healthy range of BMI scale. For some reason we thought it would take ages to conceive, hopefully I'd have lost 3/4 of the weight by the time i got pregnant.

I'd be really happy with the MLU, but their website says the BMI limit is 35.

CarrotVan · 07/05/2015 11:31

That sucks. You've done amazingly well to lose so much weight since Christmas. What an achievement

You can still have a relaxed, midwife led birth on delivery suite if the MLU isn't an option. Unless there are complications you might still not see a doctor.

I've just found out my EDD is 10th of January - my birthday is the day before (and my brother is the day before that - we love January babies in this family!). It's my first and I'm a bit paranoid, but I guess that's normal. Already fed up with these cramps/nausea bouts though. The nausea I expected (although not so soon!) but I had hoped the cramps would disappear when Aunt Flo did. Little do I know apparently.

Joey0805 · 07/05/2015 12:25

I'm also pretty nauseous quite a bit of the time - only 5+1 so wasn't expecting it so early...fx it doesn't get worse! Not sure how to handle work and being sick!!

I am definitely having an early scan, as soon as possible so probably at 7 weeks. Is anyone else thinking about an elective c-section?

Joey0805 · 07/05/2015 12:27

I have my GP appt today - sounds like I shouldn't expect too much!!

CarrotVan · 07/05/2015 12:40

I am Joey - had an emergency section last time

goodnessgraciousgouda · 07/05/2015 12:50

Joey - Out of interest, is there any reason you are already thinking of an elective caesarian? It seems pretty early on to be making any decisions about that!!! (Unless you've already gone through it once and ended up with an emergency caesarian like carrot)

If everything goes well in the first trimester, and if we find out that I am carrying twins, then I would almost certainly have a caesarian. I can't understand why anyone would even try for a vaginal birth when you have no guarantees over how the second baby will be born. Imagine having to recover from both a vaginal birth AND a caesarian. The mind boggles.

If it's a singleton then basically fuck knows.

Happily, they dish out epidurals like candy over here, so there will be no arguments with sadistic midwives (I've heard horror stories of people being denied pain relief).

Joey0805 · 07/05/2015 13:05

I am utterly terrified of giving birth; my husband was 9lbs 12oz, I was 10lbs 11oz and my mum was in real trouble after having me (to the point where she couldn't have much to do with me for the 1st week...we've never been close and I wonder if this is a part of the reason). So I am very nervous about having a ginormous baby (no I wasn't late and no my mum didn't have gestational diabetes) and whilst I'm super tall at just under 6ft (my mum isn't even tall!) I'm not that wide and actually my hips are pretty narrow... I am almost certainly going private for the whole thing which means, I guess, I'll be monitored very closely so maybe I won't need to make the call early one way or the other. I have a LOT of learning to do!!

crumble74 · 07/05/2015 13:29

I'll be having an ELCS Joey.
DS1 was breech from about 20 weeks & never turned so was offered a c section. It was a really positive experience & would do it again in a heartbeat. You do go through a lot of learning during a pregnancy so you might feel differently at some point down the line.

CarrotVan · 07/05/2015 14:16

are you UK based Joey? Even on the NHS you should be monitored closely enough that if there are any concerns they will do a growth scan around 35 weeks to double check.

I'm glad the elcs was positive for you crumble - that's very reassuring. I cannot have another birth like the first so foor me it's elcs or a definite commitment that any reduction in progress and it's straight to emcs rather than the 40 hours of labour and then emcs I had last time.

gouda are twins a likelihood? How exciting!

CarrotVan · 07/05/2015 14:19

This has been such a grim week with my son having d&V and HFM at the same time, plus the awful family news, plus craziness at work, plus living on a building site that I've been driving myself crazy with worry about this pregnancy and my lack of boob symptoms - because this much stress can only be good for me...right?

crumble74 · 07/05/2015 14:29

That does sound like a terribly stressful week carrot, I hope things improve for you soon.
Maybe the lack of boob symptoms is because all of the other issues going on are taking up more of your time/energy so you don't notice them as much? I hsvr no symptoms today apart from being irritable but that could be caused by anything!

greysar · 07/05/2015 14:50

Pretty sure I'm out now- brown spotting progressed to lots of red blood, GP took a second blood sample to confirm HCG levels. Good luck to everyone, hope you have a healthy and happy 8 months.

CarrotVan · 07/05/2015 14:59

So very sorry greysar - be kind to yourself

Joey0805 · 07/05/2015 14:59

Greysar, thinking of you and really hope it's better news than you think xxx
