Thanks everyone - DP thinks it is stupid but maybe I can convince him!

gouda I would really regret it! DP twigged the other night that he won't be able to drink over Christmas and New Year and would need to be on stand by. Good luck breaching NYE with your DH!

coffee I hope I have an easy go of it this time! And FX you can go natural too! Were you overdue by much?

coffeenut · 06/05/2015 12:47

mummy - DD1 was 15 days over. DD2 I elected for an induction at 39 weeks as it was estimated she would be 10 lbs or something ridiculous - it was actually easier/less stressful organising childcare & I def do not regret it Smile

gouda they have no idea really Grin

Lookingforadvice123 · 06/05/2015 13:21

Congrats to those newly preggo!!!!

This will be my first NYE in ever (if all goes to plan with this bean) as my EDD is 4 Jan. I never thought I'd be pleased about having a January baby as it's the worst month for s birthday, but now I'm pregnant it seems ideal - I'll finish work around 18th Dec (earlier if I can!) as I do every year, then won't need to go back until 2017!

AlohaMama · 06/05/2015 13:47

Mummy aren't first babies often late and 2nds not so much?? Nevertheless, if you want to do Christmas at your families, why not? As long as you have your hospital bag and know where to go if you did end up in labour. Is there no birthing unit near your family or are you only allowed to go if you've already pre-registered there?

Mummyofonesofar · 06/05/2015 14:27

coffee I heard the estimations on baby weight aren't very accurate, how big was she in the end?

Looking that is how I see it - 2 Christmases off!!

Aloha I couldn't find a birthing unit online but it is 45 minutes from where I had my last baby or there are lots of hospitals as it is on the Kent/London border so would be spoilt for choice.

CarrotVan · 06/05/2015 14:29

Congratulations aloha

There's not a lot I can do about it coffee as it's a virus. We've not taken the boy to the GP as he's had it before and it just has to run the course.

So far I don't seem to have picked it up

FizzyPinkWine · 06/05/2015 14:52

Hi, can I join, please? Edd 8th jan I think. This will be number 2, although I've had 3 miscarriages in the last year and a bit. Will be keeping everything crossed this time! Waiting to hear from consultant about a scan at 6 weeks, I'm also going to be having to inject myself with heparin every day.
It's so good to have some others to chat to!

crumble74 · 06/05/2015 15:13

Hi fizzy, sorry to hear about your mc's & all the best for this pregnancy! I was on Clexane injections for 10 months last time & am entering week 2 of doing them 2nd time round. :)

FizzyPinkWine · 06/05/2015 15:23

Thanks crumble.
How did you find having to do the injections? I'm not looking forward to it!

Miniangel · 06/05/2015 15:30

Hi Everyone how are you all feeling?

Fizzy: sorry about Mc's and best of luck for the pregnancy.

My birthday is Boxing Day so don't know how close to it this DC will be. Sport haven't been posting since I joined but have been sick like a dog these past couple of days. Have my dating scan tomorrow so am a bit scared.

I forget the name but someone had a dating scan today. How did it go?

CarrotVan · 06/05/2015 15:34

fizz if it's the same sort of cleanse you have after a section then it was really easy. Fx this works out for you

CarrotVan · 06/05/2015 15:35

Clexane not cleanse!

FizzyPinkWine · 06/05/2015 15:43

That's good to hear carrot! Thanks!

Mummyofonesofar · 06/05/2015 15:48

Fizzy sorry about the mcs, lets hope for a trouble free pregnancy this time!

mini good luck with your dating scan tomorrow!

CarrotVan · 06/05/2015 15:52

mini is that a very early scan for a particular reason or are you not in the UK. Dating is normally at the 12 week scan here. Hope it goes well

crumble74 · 06/05/2015 19:22

Fizzy I did get used to it after doing it for the best part of a year! It's best to just pinch & pop them in quickly, it does get a bit more tricky as bump grows as there's less fat to pinch, had to go for thighs & hips! All worth it though!

loveulotslikejellytots · 06/05/2015 19:54

Coffee, that is a very good point about food poisoning, maybe I'll do a roast after all!

Anyone else missing any 'banned' food or drink? I've got 2 cold cans of lager in the fridge, I was cooking dinner for us 2 tonight plus cooking the spag Bol for tomorrow. I just really felt like cracking one open Grin ah well, sparkling water and like it is!

loveulotslikejellytots · 06/05/2015 19:54

*lime

goodnessgraciousgouda · 06/05/2015 20:38

loveu - Actually I've been surprised how little I've been craving wine and fags. In fact, I went off wine about a week before I took the test. I'm sorry that the aversion isn't universal - must be shitty having to actively control it! (I have no willpower).

I'm still constantly freezing. Is that a thing??? Is anyone else still cold?

MaybeMrsMum2016 · 06/05/2015 20:43

loveu I'm missing my wine already! I've got some alcohol-free Eisberg stuff but it's just not the same! Sad I also have a bottle of schloer to have at some point.

crumble74 · 06/05/2015 21:35

It is a thing goodness, freezing is my only symptom & I'm clinging onto it!!! Brrrr...

Cazzybaby · 06/05/2015 21:49

Mummy - not postponing wedding due to being preggers had a problem with my partners Absolute (it hadn't been issued) we are still hoping to get married before baby arrives fingers crossed! Definitely have Christmas with your family you have a plan if baby decides to make an appearance!
Carrot - Are you having a lot off building work done? Will it be finished in time for new baby?
Is anyone else thinking about a home birth? I'm hoping for one but will have to convince my consultant first!
Hello everyone who had joined!
Xxxx

Cazzybaby · 06/05/2015 21:49

Goodness I'm also experiencing the coldness!!!

loveulotslikejellytots · 06/05/2015 21:54

I'd love a home birth, but I think my BMI means that's a no go, best I can hope for is that they will let me give birth in the MLU. Fingers crossed.

FizzyPinkWine · 06/05/2015 21:54

I'm really feeling the cold too. But see to get ridiculously hot in the middle of the night!
