Looking, the risk of miscarriage starts off at 25%- and then once a heartbeat is found (around 6-7 weeks) it drops to around 10%. Once you've reached 12 weeks and seen a wriggly bean with a strong heartbeat it drops further.

Already been researching the private places near us for a 6+something reassurance scan, desperate to see a heartbeat!

Mummyofonesofar · 05/05/2015 13:04

Greysar I hope the spotting is just the baby implanting extra deep, lots of women experience spotting.

Goodness I keep crying too, I am sure it is normal!! Also I am nodding off between 9-10 each night and then waking up before the alarm every day but then by 10am I am shattered again - I need a nap now!!

Cubano what a determined little thing!

Mummyofonesofar · 05/05/2015 13:09

For chances of mc I am looking at [http://spacefem.com/pregnant/mc.php?m=08&d=10&y=12 this]] every day - there is no way to change your cycle lengths to make it more accurate so you just have to wigge the LMP date until it shows your right due date and it is month, date, year. I am down to a 14.4% chance - or as I prefer to say 85.6% chance of everything being ok!

CarrotVan · 05/05/2015 13:10

Fingers crossed for you greysar

bear - about 3.5 stone. I could barely move from SPD and DS was 9lb so I was huge. I'd like to not pile it on this time.

I've just bought more pregnancy tests. Because

Mummyofonesofar · 05/05/2015 13:10

oops - link mishap - here

greysar · 05/05/2015 13:16

Mummyofone, that site is my new favourite thing. Thank you!

Just had a call back from the GP- going there for blood test this afternoon, then repeat in 2 days; our EPU apparently don't see anyone under 6 weeks. Feel slightly less stressed now bizarrely!

loveulotslikejellytots · 05/05/2015 13:27

Thanks for that mummyofone. It's quite reassuring.

loveulotslikejellytots · 05/05/2015 13:28

Fingers crossed for you greysar Thanks

Mummyofonesofar · 05/05/2015 13:50

It is reassuring, I love watching it drop each day. I also try to remind myself that people get pregnant all the time and don't know. With DS, which was unplanned, I didn't know until I was about 2 months gone and I enjoyed Christmas & New Year with lots and lots of drinking and he stuck around. I try to think, the beans that are meant to be are very resilient!

coffeenut · 05/05/2015 14:06

I agree mummy about the resilient beans.
I also put on about 3.5 stone first preg and then, despite being strict with myself, put the same on second preg. It all came off within a year, so I'm going to try not to stress (I have a history of Ed so this is a bit of a headfuck for me in general but nevermind)... however a friend has recently been told to go on a low GI diet to make sure her next baby isn't a whopper (her first was almost 9lb) - am looking into this as my DD2 was also near 9lb.

coffeenut · 05/05/2015 14:07

greysar try not to worry, sending positive thoughts Flowers

crumble74 · 05/05/2015 14:26

Good luck for the blood tests greysar!

I put most weight on after my last pregnancy! Sleep deprivation drove me to comfort eat: Peanut butter Ben & Jerrys, pâté, prosecco ... nothing was safe! Confused Not looking forward to the weigh-in at the booking in appointment.

bearchomp · 05/05/2015 14:26

I put on around 3.5 stone but also had excess amniotic fluid so not sure how much was baby/fluid and food!
I am just a pound heavier than pre pregnancy today so happy with that - I have dropped to less than pre pregnancy and also half a stone over as my weight fluctuates depending on how good I am being.

I didn't think the tiredness had hit me yet but I've just had an hours nap which was lovely Grin

greysar I had spotting around 7wks with my ds, it's quite common so try not to worry.
carrot I have been very tempted to buy more tests but have done 2 x superdrug, 2 x cb digital and 8 internet cheapies so probably shouldn't buy anymore.....Blush

goodnessgraciousgouda · 05/05/2015 14:51

bear - ahahaha, I know what you mean about the tests!! My husband has started asking if I am making a collection, and I've only done three! I thought that was pretty controlled as well!

I only have one left at the moment, (its a clear blue digital one), and think I will save that until next week.

The link posted is really helpful - I find myself fluctuating between very nervous and quite confident.

Mummyofonesofar · 05/05/2015 15:06

I have done 3 ICs, 2 cb digitals, 1 CB regular and 1 frer and I have one Frer and 1 IC left incase I feel panicked and want to use them.

greysar · 05/05/2015 15:16

Since finding the faintest of faint lines on an IC, I have done 1 Superdrug, 1 CB digi, 2 Tesco tests (didn't like those ones, lines were faint), 4 FRERs and a pack of 10 ICs arrived today Grin no judgement from me for any other serial POASers, my DH also thinks I'm mental!

GP says she spotted until 20weeks with her pregnancy, so to try not to worry- I am feeling a bit better, thank you everyone for talking me down Flowers

Lookingforadvice123 · 05/05/2015 16:20

Thanks for sharing that link!

It doesn't work for me though, my last LMP was 30 March but it automatically updates to 3 April, putting me at 4 weeks 4 days but I'm 5 weeks 1 day? I couldn't see where the due date would be, it only seemed to go up to 12 weeks odd?

goodnessgraciousgouda · 05/05/2015 17:09

looking - It only goes up to week 12 because the risk of mc is highest in the first weeks. After that it drops to less than 1%.

The aim is to just give yourself some reassurance in the first tri, not throughout the whole shebang :)

I'm pretty worried, as almost all the cramping I have had has been on my right side. Occasionally other places, but mainly there. It's not painful though and as of yet there's been no spotting, which are apparently the other signs of an ectopic.

Cazzybaby · 05/05/2015 17:52

Bear - 4 stone for me last pregnancy but that was 8 years ago and I really went for it with the whole eating for two! Going to be more careful this time and also try and keep running all the way through!
Grey - good luck at the EPU they may offer you an early scan?!
Is anyone else planning on having early scans? I booked an 8 week scan today we go on holiday at 9 weeks and I want to know everything is ok before we travel, also we have just had to postpone our wedding so it gives us something nice to look forward too!
Hello to everyone joining xx

CarrotVan · 05/05/2015 17:55

I now have four Superdrug tests and a CB digi which I'm saving until it should show 3+

I also have a very upset toddler with Hand, Foot and Mouth for the second time and am a sleep deprived zombie.

Lookingforadvice123 · 05/05/2015 17:57

I've had pain more so on the right gouda.

I don't know what the stats for me today would be then, as it won't accept my actual LMP - anyone else have the same thing? The stats for 5 weeks 1 day which I am today is 15.8%, that's quite reassuring if it's correct for me!

Lookingforadvice123 · 05/05/2015 18:01

cazzybaby I wasn't planning on paying for a private early scan...is anyone else? I'm worried it might cause more worry than relief in case it's too early to see anything.

A friend had an early scan for free as she had had a bit of spotting, they dated her at 7 weeks but she was lucky that she didn't need an internal one, they could see the heartbeat on the external one.

mrsfazruns · 05/05/2015 18:52

I was considering an early scan just to try and put mind at ease after MMC in December!! But suppose I could have scan at 6 weeks and something could still happen before 12!!! It's just a nervous waiting game isn't it!! X

goodnessgraciousgouda · 05/05/2015 19:33

It turns out that there is no scan at 8 weeks here - well, they say there is, but they count differently to the UK.

Why is counting weeks in pregnancy so FUCKING complicated?!?!?!?

Over here they start from estimated date of conception, NOT your last AF. So when they say "8 weeks" what they actually mean is "10 weeks"

URGH!!

loveulotslikejellytots · 05/05/2015 19:34

Looking, are you putting your lmp in the 'American' way? So month, day, year? I did it wrong first time. It's not day, month, year.
