CuppaSarah · 19/04/2015 10:41

Just got my bfp positive today and am thinking we need a thread for all the babies that will be born around new years and Christmas. I'm due new years eve and just know I'll be sick of the comments real quick! So we can vent and plan low stress xmases together.

I know we have the December thread and will have the January one, but why the hell not there's room for everyone!

That's lovely Sweep - I heard heartbeat today too Smile

Mmm strong women Ahemily. Will have a look too. I love looking through baby names!

CuppaSarah · 17/07/2015 16:21

Congratulations Ahemily!!! I reckon if you need a strong woman's name, Bodeccia is the way to go!

Sherbert and Queazy yay! Nothing beats the heartbeat!

So glad it's the weekend. We're now moving(long story) so will be spending the weekend viewing flats and explaining housing benefits don't mean I'm evil.

Thank you cuppa!! For some reason in petrified - I don't know what I'm doing with girls!!

Good luck this weekend, sounds stressful. Remember to chill!

Queazy · 17/07/2015 16:33

Cuppa, you seem the very opposite of evil! Hope the house hunting goes really well.

I love Bodeccia!! I love Ruth too - not sure if a strong famous person, but a strong name.

CuppaSarah · 17/07/2015 16:43

Ruth is my middle name! It means beautiful friend in Hebrew, I approve of Ruth.

Ahemily girls are the same as boys except when you change nappies, it's like swiping a credit card except with a baby wipe, when you clean their bits.Grin

So far one landlord excepts it, one might consider it. Hoping being a gas safe engineer might sway their decision(even if I'm only gas safe in really niche stuff they needn't know!!) But at least if its only a couple properties we won't be running round at a million viewings a minute.

"it's like swiping a credit card when you clean their bits"!! Ahahaha, this comment just made me howl!!

Great suggestions for names, thanks all! Smile I like Scarlet but it's been vetoed, baah Sad

Hoping everything goes smoothly cuppa Thanks

Tangoandcreditcards · 17/07/2015 19:01

Oh gosh cuppa - what a nightmare, I hate moving! Good luck finding somewhere.

ahemily I thought of Boudicca too! But if that's a bit much to live up to, Amelia (Earhart) or Joan (of Arc/of Mad Men Grin ) are pretty kick-ass too! Ruth is good though!

I'm also glad it's the weekend. I've probably got a lot of domestic gubbins to do, I probably won't do it and then I'll be cross on Monday. Still soooo tired, I think I'm starting to lose my sleep too, woke up at 4am this morning and just lay there blinking until the alarm went off.

Tangoandcreditcards · 17/07/2015 19:02

PS phone autocorrected "domestic gubbins" to "domestic gibbons"

I now want a domestic gibbon, I fancy they'd get more done than me.

MazyCrummy · 17/07/2015 19:09

Congrats Ahemily! Flowers

How about Florence (Nightingale) or Grace (Darling)?

Ahemily · 17/07/2015 19:39

Brilliant tango and mazy - thanks! I really love Amelia (but my name is Emily, so perhaps a little narcissistic!) and Florence, thank you both!!

CuppaSarah · 18/07/2015 06:33

Girls names are causing problems here too! I love loads of names, but dh is so bloody fussy. We have a boys name sorted, but i have a list a gallion names long for girls, of which dh likes 5! And he only kind of likes them. Makes me hope for a boy to save the faff of it.

Our girl's name was going to be Theodora. I can tell you now I know it's a boy.

sherbertlemon17 · 19/07/2015 09:37

Congratulations AhEmily! So great to have little girl in the mix on here! Great name suggestions MazyCrummy! What about Rosa (Parks), the black woman who didn't give her seat up on the bus for a white man.

Boys names are giving us a headache. Those of you on the Facebook group will know I've got an unusual surname which is North African. So we want a first name that fits with the surname (but easily pronounced in English) and then a more English middle name. English boys middle names seem so boring in comparison! Lol!

Ah Sweep & Queazy that's so lovely! Such a special moment hearing the heartbeat.

I've been away on a hen do this weekend and it was so annoying not being able to drink. Lack of a hangover is such a good feeling when everyone is hanging around you though!!

Queazy · 19/07/2015 20:23

What about Toni, Ahemily? Or Antonia? I was thinking after Toni Morrison, the author, a very strong woman who writes about important topics. The suggestion of Rosa made me think of it.

I've been at a party today and wanted a drink too Sherbet! Summer without a Pimms or G&T isn't fair Wink

CuppaSarah · 20/07/2015 07:39

I was so close to making it 2 days in a row without vomiting. But no.I got over excited brushing my teeth and bam. Toothpaste and cocoapops everywhere! Dd thought it was hilarious.

I feel the no alchohol pain. I've found ice cold lemonade in champagne flutes, makes me feel better about the whole thing. I look like a tit but feel classier.

OP posts:
Queazy · 20/07/2015 08:46

You poor thing Cuppa - hope you feel bit better now.

Love the lemonade idea - ha ha. I had elderflower with bits of mint in it at a BBQ yesterday. If I really squinted, it was just like I was drinking a mojito Grin

MazyCrummy · 20/07/2015 09:38

I'm working my way through the Aldi 'posh' soft drinks - they are quite cocktail-y. Things like Mexican lime and mint. Better with rum, but still interesting in their virgin state

Natalieday1 · 20/07/2015 10:02

Just found this thread, I'm due with my 4th baby 2nd jan, having my 4th section tho so will be taken in roughly 26th onwards! Stressing a bit over it being so close to Xmas/new year Shock xx

Ahemily · 20/07/2015 11:16

Thank you queasy and sherbet - I love Rosa but DP is less keen, I hadn't thought of Toni though! That's really nice!! Also loving Ella. I'll keep you posted!

Brilliant idea re champagne flutes, cuppa, I'll be all over that tonight! Grin

Welcome Natalie! Exciting festive season all round!

Tangoandcreditcards · 20/07/2015 11:52

Hello natalie , that does sound hectic especially if you've got 3 DCs to sort out as well! I suppose the good thing about the festive period is that family and friends (if you have them handy) might be off work to help and you can plan around a c-section .

My lot are all at least an hour and a half away (and more interested in sherry and champagne with mince pies than being on-call to help a preggo out), so honestly not sure what will happen to DS if I have to be taken into hosp at short notice.

I enjoy the san pelligrino fizzy pop - watered down a bit, I tried lemon and mint at the weekend thought and it's horrible: like drinking lemonade with a polo in. So I confess I ditched it in favour of a weak spritzer Shock

MazyCrummy · 20/07/2015 14:03

Hi Natalie, welcome! I'm expecting my 5th baby on NYE and am not due to have a cs BUT I'm dreading finding out I need one and then having it around 24/12. No idea what that would mean for the rest of the tribe for Christmas Confused

CuppaSarah · 20/07/2015 16:00

Welcome Natalie! It sounds manic as anything, surely hospitals are on Sunday staff levels at this time of year, so you might get away with 38 weeks?

Loving everyone's alcohol alternatives. Things are getting stress here, realising relocation or waiting to be evicted so the council will house us are our only options. Really CBA with a big move and big commute right now.

Hurray! Term is over! I am so ready for this holiday Star

sherbertlemon17 · 20/07/2015 18:09

Sweep I'm so jealous! We've still got until Friday!! Angry

Welcome Natalie. We've not given Christmas any thought yet. Really should get on to that! Lol!

Ahemily · 20/07/2015 19:48

Poor you cuppa, sounds like a bloody nightmare Sad Hope you're holding up okay.

My mw said an ECS is probably be the most sensible option for me after DS, so missy may be making an appearance earlier than initially anticipated, something of a relief really, she is due on Christmas Eve Hmm
