Just got my bfp positive today and am thinking we need a thread for all the babies that will be born around new years and Christmas. I'm due new years eve and just know I'll be sick of the comments real quick! So we can vent and plan low stress xmases together.

I know we have the December thread and will have the January one, but why the hell not there's room for everyone!

I would say OhHolyFuck as soon as you're concerned give the community midwives a call. They can do a quick dip stick test and that tells so much! I am a cautious person though. I really hope you're feeling a little better now though. That boiling night at work cant have helped you.

Tango that is an amazing kind of ambitious! If you really can hang on that long I will be in utter awe of you! Because that is proper hardcore. My work uniform makes my bump invisible, so I can't poke it out for sympathy. Perhaps a cake diet and fat bump will do the trick? Grin

Queazy the tower fan did not set on fire, I'm guessing your dad was fine too? Bloody hormones messing us about.

I agree - great plan Tango! I'm thinking of stopping at 37 weeks tho I don't have any holiday so might be better stretching it out as long as possible!

DD all fine thank you Cuppa - ha ha! Though it's taking her ages to go to sleep because it's still sticky tonight.

Would you guys mind working your nub and skull magic on my scan pic? I've only just had a chance to upload as been on hols.

Thank you Smile

Aww that's a super lovely scan pick Queazy really clear too. I would say boy from that pic. You got a super.good pock of the nub too, clear enough even I can see it! I think its a boy nuh, but the skull suggests boy.

I hope did settled well in the end.

Oh thanks Cuppa Smile Double boy signs - dh will be hopeful! I'm going to ask the sonographer to write down the gender on a piece of paper at the 20 week scan so we can open it on our own. Obviously we're really happy either way, but I'd rather find out over a big piece of cake at home than at the hospital. Let's be honest, I'd rather find out all news over a piece of cake. I'm like a human dustbin of baked products at the moment - the baby is the size of a peach I think and my backside is the size of a small planet already Wink

DD woke for a couple of hours in the night. First time in a few months, and it hurt! I really, really fancy a duvet day Smile

Evening ladies!

I've tried to put a summary table together (see link below). I didn't have everyone's the details to hand so feel free to let me know of any changes.

Hopefully it will work .

OhHolyFuck · 03/07/2015 20:27

Gillster I'm impressed!

For your records, I'm 28 and my 20 week scan date is 10th August although I'm having a gender scan on 12th July so will know what colour it is by then!
Oh and I'm due Christmas Eve Grin

OhHolyFuck · 03/07/2015 20:28

I'm guessing its a boy too!

Tangoandcreditcards · 03/07/2015 21:03

Ooh. Nice one Gillster. Love a good spreadsheet.

I'm 35, it's my 2nd baby, EDD 30th of Dec. I'm guessing girl but staying yellow and next scan is 18th August.

In other news DP is off to the states until Tues and DS has decided to become a total Daddy's boy this week (DP is SAHD so not totally surprising). But DS wouldn't even let me pick him up this evening. So it could be 3 very long days of DS looking for his Daddy. I'm totally exhausted after a stressful week at work and have sciatica and SPD. Moan moan. Roll on Xmas. Happy weekend one and all!!

NoArmaniNoPunani · 03/07/2015 21:03

I'm 33 and this will be my first. My private sex scan is 14th July and 20 week scan 12th August.

SweepTheHalls · 03/07/2015 21:03

I'm 35,convinced it's a boy. My 20scan is on August 26th as I'm away on holiday for a couple of weeks before ?

SweepTheHalls · 03/07/2015 21:06

Ooo, my phone emoticons now seem to be working on here ????

SweepTheHalls · 03/07/2015 21:06

Boo, that one didn't

OhHolyFuck · 03/07/2015 21:18

Sweep I can see a bottle?

Queazy · 03/07/2015 21:20

Thanks from me too Smile I'm 35, due on 28 Dec, not sure about gender but let's say boy! I have 20 week scan on 11 August. This is my 2nd child.

Thanks so much

Queazy · 03/07/2015 21:21

Tango, I have a mummy's girl, so feel your pain. Hope you have someone nearby who can at least give you a couple of hours off or provide a distraction for your lo. Sciatica and spd sounds nasty too - hope you're ok.

CuppaSarah · 03/07/2015 21:23

Gillster that's brilliant! I'm 25, due 31st Dec, guessing girl and next scan is 13th august. I will not be team yellow!

Tango that sounds difficult, do you think he senses his dad is leaving for a bit? As for your pain, that really sucks. I hear removing your pelvis and putting it on a hot wash in the dishwasher does wonders for SPD.

Queazy we were thinking of getting the sonographer to write it down too. I was even thinking of going to the party shop with a box and letting them put pink or blue balloons in a box. So dd can enjoy finding out the gender too. Dh thinks that's OTT and it is but so am I. At least I won't be hiring a photographer and making my family watch the event.

Tangoandcreditcards · 03/07/2015 21:46

Thanks all. The SPD is pretty low level so far, but I'd gladly put my pelvis in the dishwasher cuppa if I thought it would help. The sciatica is a new one to me and just odd shooting pains on basically any movement required for toddler-wrangling (bending, crouching, lifting). My DSis and ex-step-sister-in-law (tenuous) are popping round tomorrow, so hopefully can get some help, they aren't the most practical choice but might at least be able to keep DS occupied a while! DS has these odd clingy days, hopefully he'll forget all about his Dad the moment I drop him off at the airport, that's what you want for your kids, right?

Ha! cuppa you are going all-out!! Although I am a team yellow I have pink and blue Lego babies in waiting for the all-important post-birth Facebook reveal.

Queazy · 03/07/2015 22:15

Cuppa, that is nothing short of inspired Smile Bloody brilliant! I might try to jazz up the 'write it on a piece of paper' bit myself!

Tango, my lo is very clingy and left her with my parents all day and night today, as was at the tennis. She honestly didn't blink an eyelid because they told her they were taking her to the 'swings and slides'. A bit of distraction and your lo will be absolutely fine. We look at pics of my dh or FaceTime him when he's away!

Hope you do get a chance to rest tomorrow. SPD is really sore, and especially with a toddler to carry around. Love the dishwasher idea. I'd like to put my body in a dishwasher on a hot wash and come out a smaller size. I honestly am still expanding by the day - I look about 5 months pregnant (at least) and my legs are like tree trunks. This is far from a good look.

I was trying to work out if I've left it too late for 3 dc earlier, as will be 36 by the time dc2 pops out. I think the hormones are flooding. This pregnancy is strangely easier than the last because I have so little time to really think about it. It's so nice to have this group to actually talk about it!

HopeItComesLate · 03/07/2015 23:21

Glister im 23 this will be my 1st. I am convinced its a boy but sticking firmly on team yellow and my 20 week scan is on the 10th of August.

Went baby shopping today :O there's no stopping me now haha.
Also I have the beginnings of an actual bump I know a few of you have had this a while but mine seemed to come and go until I realised today its not gone for a few days.

How you all feeling now we're in the beginnings of the second trimester? is the sickness and tiredness wearing off for anyone?

OhHolyFuck · 03/07/2015 23:29

Queazy I.know what you mean, some days i have to.properly stop and work out how far i am because tbh with 2 DSs, dp, work, planning a wedding, looking to move etc its just not in the forefront of my mind a lot - poor neglected DS3, with DS1 i could tell you to the hour!

Sorry for those with spd, its a buggar and the reason i was induced with DS1, just couldn't go on anymore. Have you tried physio or a chiropractor? Heard they might help

So many team yellows, i admire your patience!

CuppaSarah · 03/07/2015 23:33

Queazy I got the idea off pinterest, but I will not be doing the pro.photographer crap they did.

Yay Hope a bump! I didn't have one for a while with dd, but as this is my second my stomach muscles just said fuck it.

I so agree about not focusing on this pregnancy in the same way as first time. I was constantly stroking my stomach and only thought about the baby. This time I'm thinking about dd and work and just life. Those of you on your first time are you guys able to focus on your pregnancy a lot and do all the stomach stroking? I wonder if I was just precious first time or if that's just the standard procedure.

Ds1 in bad books right now - he woke me and ds2 up before 6am, then announced that actually he was tired and going back to bed! Aren't we all kiddo?! If you'd have just turned over and gone back to sleep rather than waking everyone up, we all could have had a few extra hours!

How's everyone else?

CuppaSarah · 04/07/2015 07:54

Oh no what a nightmare! I would be so unimpressed with that too. I am not as shattered as I expected to be. I stayed up till midnight watching cloverfield and some awful american extreme weather programme. Dd hasn't woken up yet, despite me hearing her shouting for me. I must have dreamt it.

I had some really good flutters yesterday too, I didn't fart after either for ages so they probably weren't gas. Well I hope they weren't gas.

Also guys there's a march antenatal group! Not long till we get an April one either, we are getting their!

If anyone is looking for maternity clothes, there's some good stuff in the Asos sale, just got a dress reduced from £50 to £15.

sherbertlemon17 · 04/07/2015 09:17

Queazy & Cuppa that's such a lovely idea! I've watched tons of gender reveal videos on YouTube and there are some brilliant ways of doing it! Definitely agree on not bothering with the ridiculously over priced photographer!

Oh Tango that sounds awful! Hope your not too uncomfortable with the spd and sciatica. [flowers

Good shout on the sale Armani will definitely be checking that bad boy out today!

Gillster you're a Star! I'm 26 (27 in just over a week! Boo!) First baby. Firmly team yellow although I'm guessing girl. Due 12th December and 20 week scan 13th August. It's more like 23 weeks because we're on holiday the 10 days before. Literally being scanned 2 days after we get back!

Cuppa we're 20 week scan buddies!Smile
Armani you're sex scan is on my birthday and your 20 week scan is on my anniversary! Freaky!
