Just got my bfp positive today and am thinking we need a thread for all the babies that will be born around new years and Christmas. I'm due new years eve and just know I'll be sick of the comments real quick! So we can vent and plan low stress xmases together.

I know we have the December thread and will have the January one, but why the hell not there's room for everyone!

Took DS1 swimming today and I'm knackered! Getting tired a lot more quickly in this pregnancy than before, if I have more than 3 things to do, I have to build in 'sit down' time!

How's everyone else?

Queazy · 05/07/2015 16:19

Holy, I'm so impressed, I need to do some exercise! I'm playing catch up at work as I was ill last week. I made dh take lo to soft play and now just about to meet them at the shops. I so want another day off Hmm

CuppaSarah · 05/07/2015 17:30

Yay Sherbert, I'm surprised though you're a few weeks ahead aren't you? I cannot wait to see what flavour cake I'm cooking.

OhHolyFuck I am impressed I refuse to do physical stuff like swimming without dh to help wrangle dd. I do find myself more tired, but I am doing a lot more this time round. I mean you have 2 kids already and shift work, it's more than enough.

Queazy that sounds like a nice day. I might need to copy that idea next week!

Oh I forgot to say. Not only did I stay up till 11 on Friday I stayed up till 12 last night!!! I was even socialising. Admittedly me and my friend spent the night watching harry potter, eating KFC and playing on our phones. She was getting over a migraine and tbh it was the best night imaginable for a pregnant lady.

I didn't even nap today. Could I be wonder woman? Maybe Grin

Ha ha cuppa - that sounds a brilliant night. I wish I had cake in the house. I want to crack out the Twilight box set and mooch.

Have a lovely Sunday evening guys. I'm in pieces...!!

Tangoandcreditcards · 05/07/2015 22:19

Well DSis came over yesterday. It was ok, but as with all sisters she can be as exhausting as a toddler sometimes! Still, nice to have some adult company while DP is away.

My back/pelvis/(arse) were especially bad today. So I just got myself comfy on a bean bag in the garden and let DS tear about, it was quite relaxing and restorative really. Then I watched 5 (FIVE!) episodes of Nashville this evening, only one of them made me cry though, so I'm going to say medium hormonal. Your Saturday night sounds awesome cuppa !!!

I'm definitely more knackered/run down this time around with much less downtime. But have slipped from 12 to 14 and a half weeks without really noticing so hopefully we'll be carolling before we know it!

Tangoandcreditcards · 05/07/2015 22:20

*adds Carol to secret Xmas-themed name list

Rather unexpected side effect I noticed this morning - my nails are growing at an alarming rate!
It doesn't half do some weird things to your body does it?!

sherbertlemon17 · 06/07/2015 18:20

Woah! Calm down Cuppa, you crazy party animal! 12 o'clock!! Sounds like a lush night though.
I am a couple of weeks ahead but we're away on holiday for 10 days when I'm 20 weeks so having it 2 days after we get back. I can't believe I'm 2 and a half weeks away from being 20 weeks!!!!!! Smile

OhHoly I'm glad you said that, my nails are growing at an alarming rate. It hardly seems worth painting them, they grow out in a couple of days.

I have to say ladies, today has been tough. I've been out at an athletics competition all day and I am shattered!

OhHolyFuck · 07/07/2015 10:09

Right, this 'morning' sickness can fuck the fuck off right now - I am nearly 16 weeks, all the books assure me it'll have gone by now liars
Utterly fed up of it

How's everyone else?

HopeItComesLate · 07/07/2015 11:14

ohholyfuck I feel your pain my sickness has actually got worse this week Angry just hope it goes away soon.
However I have been told they've linked morning sickness with lower risk of miscarriage so this makes me feel a tad better a reminder babies there until I can feel it moving.
Has anyone felt any movements yet?

NoArmaniNoPunani · 07/07/2015 11:25

My sickness tailed off a bit and has now got worse again. I also find I'm having to eat small meals otherwise I'm sick.

OhHolyFuck · 07/07/2015 14:00

Can I just thank whoever suggested caffeine for headaches? Twice I've tried it now and cleared within 30 minutes when painkillers/sleep wouldn't touch it

Now, if people would respond promptly to invites, I might not have a headache in the first place tails off into rant

Ahemily · 07/07/2015 16:09

Hello everyone! Coming to this a bit late....my baby is due on Christmas Eve, so I thought I'd pop in and say hi :-)

Ahemily · 07/07/2015 16:11

OhHolyFuck Totally feeling your pain. I was convinced the sickness had gone last week but my head was back down the toilet this morning Hmm

OhHolyFuck · 07/07/2015 16:15

Welcome ahemily! How you doing? Is it your first baby? We're due on the same day so far!

Maybe it's doing the rounds then and will fuck off to haunt another antenatal board soon?!?

Ahemily · 07/07/2015 16:20

Hahaha, OhHolyFuck, wouldn't that be nice?! Oooh, same due date, we're both carrying attention grabbing little so-and-sos then! I have one DS, aged 3, who was a dream throughout the terrible twos and has turned into a monster over the past few weeks, which is really helping Angry. How about you?

MazyCrummy · 07/07/2015 16:21

Hi all!
NYE baby (DC5) for me. I've been counting on the 12week and now the 16week mark as the start of feeling better but it's just not happening and I'm feeling really grumpy about it because none of my others have been like this. Any other 'old timers' struggling more this time around?

CuppaSarah · 07/07/2015 17:06

Hiya everyone. Sorry the morning sickness is bad for so many of us. Mines alright, but I'm still sick most mornings though it isn't bad at all as long as I eat. May have been me that said about caffeine for headaches? I think my headaches were caffeine withdrawal though Grin

Sorry I can't remember most of everyone's updates this thread has moved fast the last two days!

Welcome newbies very happy to see some new faces here. If either of you want to join the Facebook group send me a pm and I'll give you details of how to join. Its secret so no one but those I invite can see anything.

DC 3 for me, so not in your league Mazy! Definitely harder this time though. Saw the consultant this morning, she was brilliant really reassuring about all the things that were worrying me and went through my notes from the last delivery to explain the bits that didn't make sense at the time.

She offered me an elective c section which was a surprise, but was really supportive of the water birth that I would rather have and has added details to my notes to try to prevent the bits that went rather wrong last time.

MazyCrummy · 07/07/2015 19:16

Thanks cuppa and sweep

I'm probably not as bad as my last post made it sound, but I'd just come out of a ridiculously long and stuffy meeting and was being grumpy! Blush

I'm thinking home birth this time but I need consultant's say so because I'm 'multiparitous'. I do dislike the post natal ward though and would love to avoid it. Water birth sounds nice though sweep

HopeItComesLate · 07/07/2015 19:20

Welcome and congratulations to Mazy and Ahemily

Sweep have you had a water birth before? I find the idea a bit more appealing but would worry about the fact your not allowed certain pain relief also not even sure if this is an option for a first timer?

Also girls good news just been lurking on the December forum and it all seems a bit nicer (no talk of sickness, everyones talking about movements, one lady even said she'd been doing yoga! Shock ) they must only be a few weeks ahead of us so I have decided to be Maybe a bit naively optimistic.

SweepTheHalls · 07/07/2015 20:03

I had a water birth with DS 2 and honestly it was amazing, I was able to reach down and deliver him up through the water myself and he came up with this big wide eyes Smile. You can have gas and air, although I didn't as it made me feel massively drunk! I know that you get the birth that you get, wait is best to be pretty open minded when it comes to birth plans.... but, if I can, it is definitely what I will have again.

SweepTheHalls · 07/07/2015 20:04

Oh, and no problems with having one as a first timer Smile

CuppaSarah · 07/07/2015 20:46

Sweep that sounds amazing, did the water help with the pain too?

Hope you are a diamond bringing us that good news! Not sure I'm going to be ready for yoga, unless you count dd playing waybuloo and forcing me to do 'yogo'

Mazy I'm hoping for a home birth for the same reasons as you. Postnatal wards are just not fun. I want my own bed, my own bath and my own stash of takeaway menus for after the birth.
