Just got my bfp positive today and am thinking we need a thread for all the babies that will be born around new years and Christmas. I'm due new years eve and just know I'll be sick of the comments real quick! So we can vent and plan low stress xmases together.

I know we have the December thread and will have the January one, but why the hell not there's room for everyone!

NoArmarni, I have no idea. Normally I can guess something, but your scan picture has me stumped. I don't want to be a broken record but again the skull says girl I think. But we can't all be having girls like I seem to be guessing so who knows. Maybe I'm not as good at skull theory as I thought. I didn't realise being gas would interfere with a scan, the tilted uterus makes sense though. I hope it only effects your scans.

Sweep our letter came a few days ago, low risk too which is great. Fingers crossed all of us who tooknthe screening are low risk too.

Got a call today to say that everything was clear from our Serenity test (Downs, Edwards etc) so feeling very pleased. Smile

I could have also found out the sex but I managed to resist!

Tangoandcreditcards · 27/06/2015 23:05

Finally checking in on the thread after a couple o weeks away.

Good work on all the scans and tests and waving at the newbies, especially falcon who is doubly welcome. Wink

I'm also hanging out for a surprise, but do your worst guessing cuppa and all... I want to see how good these theories really are. Due date confirmed as 30th Dec.

Christmas and new years babies thread!

Yay gillster that's brilliant news, I hope you can relax about it all now. You have amazing self control too, I am impresses you didn't find out the sex.

That is such a cute little baby Tango. I don't know about nubs, NoArmarni is the lady for that. But skull theory is making me think boy!

sherbertlemon17 · 28/06/2015 13:55

Brilliant news on all the scans and results ladies!

Tango I think boy, for no reason really. But I am ALWAYS wrong so buba is probably a girl. Lol!

So, in developments over here, I'm pretty sure I felt the baby move for the first time last night!!!! So weird but so amazing! Makes it feel much more real! Grin

CuppaSarah · 28/06/2015 19:03

Oh wow Sherbert that's amazing. It's only going to get weirder and better to! Isn't it just the most reassuring thing ever?

Just wondered, anyone else been getting pains similar to period pains lately? I remember having similar at around 16 weeks last time when my womb was starting to pop out, but seems a bit early for stretching aches now. Bit paranoid about it, though they're very mild.

OP posts:
Distracted15 · 28/06/2015 19:43

cuppasarah yes the last 2 days I have had very mild period type pains. I'm 13+2. I imagine there's just a bit of stretching going on

NoArmaniNoPunani · 28/06/2015 20:01

I thought I felt movement today but then thought I must be imagining things.

Tangoandcreditcards · 28/06/2015 21:44

I've definitely felt movement already. I thought it was my imagination, but definitely felt the same wiggle/pressure when there was some movement on scan. It's more a swoosh than a prod, but soon soon!
I just get killer cramp on the side/below my bump when I stand up (round ligament?) and the v base of my spine is sore sore sore by the end of the day. Boo to aches and pains.
Back to work after 2 weeks, straight into a 7 hr meeting. Yuck. Will have to tell all my bosses and team about pregnancy too. Have a feeling that it won't go down that well in some quarters...

Ha! Is that a double-double-bluff sherbert ... Only time will tell!!! Have vague boy preference, but only because that's what I know, so I sort of can only imagine myself with a boy baby.

OhHolyFuck · 28/06/2015 23:54

Not felt movement yet (and I've thought so given the knackered state my uterus muscles must be in by now! Grin ) but definitely experiencing the pregnancy delight that is cramp - right in the arch of my foot so no stretching can get to it, about once a day just a deadly sudden pain, dp barely even looks over now at my clutching my foot and whining!
Never had it pre-pregnancy but its one delight having kids seems to have brought on along with the stretchmarks, grey hair, depleted bank balance etc

CuppaSarah · 29/06/2015 17:55

I'm relieved everyone's got aches and pains too, I promise I'm not happy about it, just relieved.

Tango glad you said something as I've been feeling the odd swooshy faint fluttery feeling and each time it happens I suddenly have to wee urgently. Could be gas though still. The next few weeks will tell.

sherbertlemon17 · 30/06/2015 15:53

How's everyone holding up in the heat?? It's been absolutely scorching here today. I usually love it but I'm getting such bad headaches from the sun!

Ouch! OhHoly cramp is not fun! Try putting a little bit of salt in to some orange juice to replace some of your electrolytes. Always used to help me after sport, especially when it's so warm.

Haha! Sorry Tango not trying to confuse you. I'm just always wrong! I think I might have only ever been right once, so always go the opposite of my intuition. Lol!

You're right about the movement being reassuring Cuppa. It almost feels like like tickles and ripples. Can't wait until they get a bit more prominent (I'm sure I'll regret saying that in about 15 weeks time!)

OhHolyFuck · 30/06/2015 20:24

Andy Murrays coach is still training a world class tennis star at 8 months pregnant.
I'm coming up 4 months and can't get through the day without a nap
The woman is clearly amazing!

Tangoandcreditcards · 30/06/2015 21:53

Ha! ohholy - I was just thinking how weak I was for being so knackered by Tues, now I feel even worse!

Have gone off ALL FOOD except plain pasta. This exact same thing happened in my last pregnancy. Food looks and smells good but the thought of actually eating makes me feel really icky. No sickness, just off food. It's so weird, like anti-cravings. Lasted a couple of weeks last time... Bring on the fusilli.

CuppaSarah · 01/07/2015 06:22

Sherbert the heat is an absolute bitch right now. My work uniform is the hottest ever too, just want to wear some light maternity trousers, instead of sweaty yuck trousers.

OhHolyFuck, women like that are just amazing. I just do not get it, you only get to be pregnant a few times in your life. Why not take it as easy as possible and enjoy it as much as you can.

Tango you are going to be coaching team carbs with a craving like that. Plain pasta is just beautiful. My thing has become roast potatoes, which would be fine if we weren't in a heat wave. May need to visit a carvery this weekend, or maybe just every evening this week.

One of my baby group friends had her baby on Sunday, perfect timing to miss this heat wave. So glad she doesn't have to be he heavily pregnant in this.

OP posts:
CuppaSarah · 01/07/2015 06:58

Just been told someone is off sick so I have to go on tools today, I could cry Sad I couldn't handle the heat yesterday and in was driving almost all of it with the windows down. I was meant to be picking something up from an air conditioned office today.

OP posts:
Gillster · 01/07/2015 08:04

Nightmare! Take it easy though and only do what you can do. Make sure you have plenty of water with you. If you can't do something then tell them. Don't put yourself or your baby at risk.

OhHolyFuck · 01/07/2015 10:05

Oh cuppa I'm sorry, I know that you really won't want to be doing that, especially in this heat
Can you take it as easy as possible? Lots of drinks breaks? They've been utter knobbers though, the way they've treated you this pregnancy

I did a sleeping overnight at work last night, already boiling building and the heating kicked in at 3am so I essentially roasted, woke up with such a bad headache Hmm
Home now though and dP got me a bacon butty before going to work so I'm a bit happier, will have a nap when ds2 does and see if it clears with a bit of sleep...can't take anything stronger than paracetamol can I?

CuppaSarah · 01/07/2015 16:42

It was OK. Took it slow and was working g with someone else so that was good not much outside work either. Work is trying to get better, but it doesn't help with everyone calling me a part timer, I know its banter but I'm hormonal enough to be allowed to be mildly peaved yes?

OhHolyFuck heating in this weather?! Wtf!! That's so wasteful and weird. I find a cheeky bit of caffine helps loads with headaches.

Gillster that's ks for the calming words, I took it so much easier than normal. No superwoman here.

OP posts:
Queazy · 01/07/2015 20:03

Holy, I can really empathise with your headache. I had a migraine yesterday and paracetamol wouldn't even touch it. I don't think we can take anything else tho Hmm

So sorry to hear your work aren't being much better Cuppa. Do you think you'll start mat leave as early as possible, or will things quieten down at some point in the year at your work? Hope you're ok.

I know it's been said, but this heat is killing me. I had four hours of meetings today in non-air conditioned rooms at work, which were eventually like ovens. At one point I was literally speechless I was so hot. I had dc1 during a heatwave though and far better to do it now then when heavily preggers Smile I've been a right whinger tho with migraine and heat - moan, moan, moan...argh!

My lo is in a room that's 27 degrees heat - I'm worried she'll dehydrate in the night. I'd normally worry, make a choice and move on, but instead hormone heavy me is on google checking she's not going to keel over from the heat in her sleep.

Glad this thread is still going ladies. I can't believe we'll all have bumps soon. It all still feels a little bit unreal.

CuppaSarah · 01/07/2015 20:46

Oh queazy that is super horrible, I totally empathise with the so hot you're speechless thing. 4 hour meetings sound super intense as it is, hear and migraines must make it impossible. I'll be going on maternity leave at 36 weeks with my left over holiday first. Once I get too bump my electrical safety jacket won't fit and I won't be allowed to work anymore on tools for definite Grin I intend to work as long as I can whilst unable to work.

I also had tears that the tower fan in dds room will set fire in the night, hormones are gits. But I got my first strong flutters this evening so today is a good day.

Anyway heat waves and pregnancy means we can moan all we want.

OP posts:
Queazy · 01/07/2015 21:08

Oh no, you too? Hormones are definitely gits. I need to get dd a tower fan tho - the poor soul is just so hot up there. Looking forward to more sunny but cooler weather next week Smile

OhHolyFuck · 02/07/2015 09:36

Hmmm, had paracetamol and sleep, tried to stay cool and drank as much fluids as I can stomach but this headache is still not shifting, at what point would you say it might be worth getting concerned?

Tangoandcreditcards · 02/07/2015 11:03

I cried when I read about England losing their World Cup game last night. Then cried some more because I felt daft. Good-oh.

ohholy poor you: at least it's cooler today. I remember having a couple of weeks of stinking headaches on-and-off last time and when the weather was stormy. I convinced myself I was responding to atmospheric pressure. Maybe it'll ease up when the weather breaks?
(please note my first paragraph to assess whether or not my logic is trustworthy)

I'd give it a couple of days: you work odd shifts, don't you? I think plenty of rest and sleep to keep yourself on an even keel if you can manage it. Dioralyte/Lucozade sport if you think it's hydration help too.

cuppa keep pushing that bump out so you can get off the front-line! Grin - I've decided to try and work up until xmas eve (39 weeks). DS was born at 39 +2, definitely not cutting it fine!

Queazy · 02/07/2015 17:25

Oh Holy, I've had a headache since Sunday and was off work with a migraine. I think it's the weather and hoping it'll clear over the next few days. Lots of fluids and sleep will help, but I know the latter can be tricky. Hope you feel better soon. I miss ibuprofen and migraleve Hmm
