Christmas and new years babies thread!

Just got my bfp positive today and am thinking we need a thread for all the babies that will be born around new years and Christmas. I'm due new years eve and just know I'll be sick of the comments real quick! So we can vent and plan low stress xmases together.

I know we have the December thread and will have the January one, but why the hell not there's room for everyone!

Such brilliant news NoArmani! Smile Congrats! Amazing news for your friend too Cuppa - it'll be lovely to share the journey with a special friend. Hope you're all having a good day.

I had a migraine today and migraleve is too strong to take when pregnant, so have been edging my way to 7pm when my little dd goes to bed! I wait all week to spend the day with her on Friday then so knackered I feel I don't have much to give. Lovely little lady tho Smile I'm so grateful to be having another little person. Roll on my 12wk scan in mid June!

OhHolyFuck · 31/05/2015 11:04

Morning! How's everyone doing this weekend?

CuppaSarah · 31/05/2015 11:21

We had a rare child free night, found a nandos voucher and cineworld voucher, so got a meal and film for under 10 quid! Sils little baby is in hospital with jaundice though Sad he should be out tomorrow though hopefully.

How are you feeling OhHolyFuck? Is the chicken pox still got it's grip in your house?

Just got up having spent the whole day in bed feeling awful. I think it was my payback for a brilliant day at Twickenham yesterday!

Tangoandcreditcards · 31/05/2015 20:41

Ha! sweep I'm just going to bed!

Spent the day at my nephew's christening. About 3 hrs on my feet and SPD/PGP is kicking in big time, base of my spine and "front pelvis" aching like crazy, can hardly walk up the stairs now. Trying not to take painkillers so going to try and sleep it off.

Still trying to keep pregnancy under my hat, although not convinced I'm managing. My Aunt said I "looked tired", I'd put make-up on and everything, I must look dreadful.

Night all.

OhHolyFuck · 01/06/2015 10:38

Yep, chicken pox still rampant here - it's ds2 second birthday today and he's too poorly to do anything, we're going to postpone it until next week and do presents/cake/ trip out somewhere then
Does anyone else spend the day reminiscing their labours on their babies birthdays? I keep looking at the clock thinking 'I was in the bath now' or 'I'd just called the midwife now'!

Sorry to here about spd, it's a bugger isn't it? So painful...have you got a support belt?

Hope your sil little boy is feeling better soon, is he under the blue lights?

OhHolyFuck · 01/06/2015 10:39

For some reason, it ate the names in that post!
So, tango and cuppa I meant you! Grin

CuppaSarah · 01/06/2015 16:42

He came home today!! Yay!! He's no longer sporting an impressive tan.

Back to work today. It wasn't awful, but they took the piss AGAIN!! So I took it back and spent a bit of time chatting to a.lovely customer and didn't have time to go to a job so got home early. Then they made me cancel it, which isn't my job. But what ever I'm home and off for a lay down

Tangoandcreditcards · 02/06/2015 09:49

Ah, glad to hear your DN is home cuppa , not such good news about work, hang in there and do what you can.

ohholy I feel a bit awful moaning about it because it's more just annoying "can't stand up for too long/walk too far or I'm really stiff & sore in the evening", and my DSIL dislocated her pelvis in late pregnancy last year so I feel like a fraud! I've got a giant tubigrip I got from the physio last time, but it didn't do a great deal, might sort myself out with a proper support belt this time.

I've only had one b'day for DS but definitely tried to pinpoint the exact moment I flopped on the sofa in front of the telly and my waters broke! Hope your DS is starting to feel better.

OhHolyFuck · 02/06/2015 21:34

Thanks Tango, he's more cheerful today although insisted on taking his nap in the old Moses basket I'd lifted out!
You should look at getting a decent belt, it's early days so you want to minimise the pain as long as you can

Cuppa, I'm sorry work is still being so difficult with you, is there no one you can take it to? A hr department or a union?

Today has been another manic day, getting married in September and the car company has let us down so spent all day trying to find another vw campervan! Turns out, our wedding is on the same day as a big vw convention and loads aren't taking bookings to go there! So after much fussing, think I've sorted it...
Scan a week on Friday!

Tangoandcreditcards · 03/06/2015 05:56

Aw ohholy that's actually really cute with your DS. Wedding planning always seems to throw a few spanners in the works, glad you've got it all sorted.

Had my booking appt yesterday, reassuring to be on the system (illogically).

Snap! ohholy I've got a scan a week Fri too (it's an early private scan as my NHS one isn't until 2 weeks after that, but I'm on hols in Canada in-between and want to check in on bump before I go).

CuppaSarah · 03/06/2015 06:43

Thanks guys, I had a meeting with my boss today and we talked it all out. Feeling much better about it all now, but when I spoke to occupational health about it last week, she said if I still feel stressed after this meeting they'll move me off tools, to an office.

Wow OhHolyFuck a very pregnant wedding then! I love a pregnant bride, how much more love can you possibly fit into one day?! Good luck with the scans a week Friday. I have a.scan today, as no one would listen when I said I would only be 12 weeks. They only care about LMP, at least it's free time off work.

NoArmaniNoPunani · 03/06/2015 06:48

Good luck with the upcoming scans. I don't have a date for my 12 week scan yet but feel so much better after the early scan.

Has anyone done or planning to do NCT classes? I'm not sure whether they'll be worth the money.

SweepTheHalls · 03/06/2015 07:26

I had my booking in appointment yesterday too, can't wait to get my scan date now. I really recommend nct classes.

OhHolyFuck · 03/06/2015 07:41

Good luck Cuppa

We did nct classes with our first, found it a good experience tbh and made s really good friend there that we still see, didn't for DS2 and won't be doing this time though i think, can't imagine the much has changed in less than 5 years

OhHolyFuck · 03/06/2015 07:51

And wrt getting married pregnant, wasn't really in the plan (tbh DC3 wasn't really in the plan hence my name!) but everything is booked now so thats the way it looks like it'll be! I'll be 25 weeks so Im hoping past this sick/constantly knackered stage thats happening now!

CuppaSarah · 03/06/2015 15:55

25 weeks is the height of pregnancy glow! You'll look amazing, all bumpy and bridey!

I never did nct classes as I'm way too cheap and I just did the NHS one. The midwife who ran it was amazing, but no one really gelled. I made friends in baby groups instead.

Scan went really well, our tiny baby looks like a baby and even waved at us! Bit in shock as I fully expected the worst( as you do) due date is back to new years eve which I'm glad about. Going to see if I can get a half day off work after my scan in two weeks as I'd like to spend the afternoon celebrating making it to 12 weeks.

Oh and I forgot to say, my notes has the most amazing thing on them. The words 'viable pregnancy' VIABLE!!!!!

sherbertlemon17 · 03/06/2015 19:32

Amazing news cuppa! You must be so excited and relieved. Smile I'm so glad that work have got their act together as well.

Tango, you are going to look amazing at your wedding! It will be such a happy day.

Ohholy, do you reckon the nct classes as worth the money? I've heard lots of friends, which is definitely something that makes me want to do them. But is that worth the money?

We had our 12 week scan today!! We have a very wriggly and healthy little baby! I can't wait to meet them now Grin Feel like a bit of a fraud on this board now, EDD bought forward again to the 12th!

Tangoandcreditcards · 03/06/2015 19:54

Yay! Well done. We're not going to kick you off sherbert - you can stay. We'll all be massive and jealous whilst you're getting newborn snuggles!

Well done too cuppa so pleased you've got it in writing!

Not my wedding though sherbert. That's ohholy. Grin I also am a fan of the glowing bride. Maybe I should think about it though... Smile

I didn't do NCT classes first time, as I had a couple of local "already" friends due their second DCs just before my first (so also on mat leave), so didn't feel like I needed the social aspect and it seemed like a lot of cash for something the hospital covered in a 3hr workshop. Also I had DP at home for my whole mat leave (jammy) so I didn't get the stir-crazy need for company-in-the-same-boat either. That said, I'm in a totally new area, with no local friends at all, so I might sign up to something. I'll have a nose around when I'm through 12 weeks.

CuppaSarah · 03/06/2015 20:18

Congratulations Sherbert! The 12/13th was by due date from LMP! So while your snuggling your baby I'll be bitterly thinking 'it should have been meeeeeeeee' in a dramatic fashion that only a heavily pregnant woman can manage.

I think nct and other similar classes are a great idea, if you can afford it you should just go for it! I was thinking of hypnobirthing classes. But everything local is either super expensive or not what I'm after. Anyone else thinking of hypnobirthing?

Hi everyone. Hope there's still space for new comers. EDD 25th Dec. 9+5 ATM. First baby soo excited. Have booking appointment 12th june. Hope all goes well.

Thinking of joining nct classes as well for the social aspects. Like cuppa not so keen on the cost.

CuppaSarah · 04/06/2015 16:11

A new member eek! Exciting and a Christmas day baby. Grin welcome rainsong.

NoArmaniNoPunani · 04/06/2015 16:25

I really don't understand how they work out due dates. I'm 10+2 with a due date of 29th December.

I'm doing hypno birthing. Hoping for home birth if I can

rainsong · 04/06/2015 17:02

Thanks for the welcome. Its so lovely to have people in the same stage as you.
I am seriously hoping baby doesn't come christmas day; I love love love Christmas day. I'd rather have christmas eve or boxing day.
Not sure how they work due date out.
Is this your first baby Noarmani. Not sure I could do a home birth. That's a lot of guts. I'm too chicken. (Have you seen those birth movies?). Hope to have a water birth if the hospital does it....along with a healthy dose of epidural.
