Just got my bfp positive today and am thinking we need a thread for all the babies that will be born around new years and Christmas. I'm due new years eve and just know I'll be sick of the comments real quick! So we can vent and plan low stress xmases together.

I know we have the December thread and will have the January one, but why the hell not there's room for everyone!

Oh no! I hope it didn't cast too much is a shadow over it. Chandlers that's an interesting thought and makes a lot of sense.

Arg work are at it again today, my risk assessment says no building sites for obvious reasons. Friday I was asked to do new installs and I naively assume they aren't on a building site like that majority of them are. After all my boss wouldn't deliberately put in me in harms way to meet his productivity targets would he? Seems he would and massively overbooked the work so I didn't get a chance to go to the toilet and my split muscles are causing pain. Every screw I put in hurts a little more than the last. I'm really fucked off and exhausted.

Hi ladies can I join?! Just had my first midwife appointment yesterday and got a due date of the 4th of January! It will be our first baby so we are super excited but nervous with fingers crossed as well!

Griffomais · 12/05/2015 16:30

Welcome Blimey congratulations Smile. I had my booking in appointment today EDD 27th Dec and scan appointment is 16th June. She recommended Isotonic drinks while I'm not eating so giving them a try. How's everyone else doing?

Blimeygirl · 12/05/2015 17:06

Thanks Griffomais! Very excited but it's doing my head in not being able to tell people! Have told my mum and dad and they are sworn to secrecy!

sherbertlemon17 · 12/05/2015 20:01

Well I've had the most stressful 2 days I think I've ever had!

Apologies for tmi, but yesterday whilst I was at work I noticed brown discharge when I went to the loo. Completely freaked out, and 10minutes later fainted and had to get DH to come pick me and take me home. I called 111 and also spoke to my GP on the phone who put my mind at ease and said that it can be quite normal.
Today though I've had some bright red spotting. Called the doctors who couldn't see me so advised I went to A&E. I have never been so scared in my life! It's luckily eased off a bit, but they did a abdominal scan and booked me in for a vaginal scan Thursday morning. I'm still absolutely worried sick, but thank god we heard our LOs heartbeat and saw them up on the screen.

I'm full of complete mixed emotions now. On one hand I am completely releived and cannot believe we have just seen our little baby! On the other hand I don't want to get my hopes up just in case things take a turn for worse. Either way I'm blabbing like a baby.Sad

Just hope I can hold it together at work tomorrow.

CuppaSarah · 12/05/2015 20:14

Oh Sherbert that's just awful, you poor thing. Seeing the heartbeat is the absolute main thing, bleeding in early.pregnancy is so normal and most of the time harmless. My sil had two massive bleeds early on, but she's nearly ready to give birth to her healthy boy now.

I think for work you need to tell a small white lie. Tell them the.midwives recommended a days bed rest till the bleeding calms down. As its maternity related they can't be funny about it. Unless you feel going to work and being busy would be better for you. Do what you need to tomorrow.

Welcome Blimey, lovely to have another member and congratulations.

How was work today Sherbert? Hope you're doing ok xx

cth1982 · 13/05/2015 16:37

Hi Ladies,

Can I join the group? Got my BFP on Sunday but working out the dates baby is due on 30 December.

I am currently freaking out a bit at the moment though, I had a MMC in February and after it took us a year and a half to get to that point I was so surprised to get another BFP so quickly, but now am worried it could happen again, although this time I am a bit more symptomey - slight nausea all day, peeing more (esp getting up at night), headaches, slight little cramps and sore boobs where last time it was just sore boobs and peeing constantly (although not at night!) but the fear is still there, it doesn't help I have a two week wait to see my GP!

Am trying to say as positive as possible and not dwell on anything after all this is the best Christmas gift we could ask for!

Griffomais · 13/05/2015 16:56

Welcome cth congratulations Smile. Can you self refer to midwife? Where I am you don't see your GP just check out your local authority NHS page and it should advise. Might speed things up for you.

sherbertlemon17 · 13/05/2015 18:37

Thanks Queazy and Cuppah, I did go to work today. Glad I did because it definitely took my mind off things.

Thankfully the spotting has stopped today so I'm hoping that means good things. Absolutely bricking it for my scan tomorrow morning! I really hope everything's OK. Sad

Queazy · 13/05/2015 21:14

Glad you're doing ok Sherbert, and will be thinking of you in the morning.

I had to go to GP to get a booking in appointment with the midwife, but I know this isn't the case everywhere.

Hope everyone's doing ok with nausea etc. I'm getting wider by the day with my eating!

CuppaSarah · 14/05/2015 06:07

Hope you're feeling a bit better Sherbert. Hopefully the next few says will be nice and calm. Welcome CTH! Lovely to have another nenber., if you ask the DR's receptionist, they'll tell you if you can self refer to the midwives or not. You can at mine.

One week till my booking in appointment and it's with my favriote midwife from last time. She remembers me after two years! But her son is my sisters close friend so I suppose she would. Either way she's amazing and I'm going to see if I can book her for my home birth!

Good luck to day sherbert

Seems like it's different everywhere, I eventually self-referred to the hosp for scan instead of waiting until 9 wks for my GP appt. But I had to make a midwife booking appt myself at the GP surgery (last time, somewhere else, i had it at the hosp). When I phoned up to make the booking appt they insisted I had to see the GP anyway to "confirm" the pregnancy even though I'm already referred for a scan. And there was me trying to save them an appointment...

So very tired. Not even 7 weeks yet. Is dragging.

Symptoms totally opposite to the early days with DS. Lots of nausea (no puking yet, praise be) - none with DS; the opposite of constipation Blush - didn't go for days on end with DS; hair is frazzled and dry - was a total greaseball with DS; floaty bits in my eyes (v annoying) - just weird - never had those before. I am starting to get WELL hairy. That's the same, I was like captain caveman by the end of the first trimester last time... it's all fun, eh?

Miniangel · 14/05/2015 11:14

Good luck today Sherbet.

I had UTI so am on antibiotics. Went to a&e last sat night as couldn't keep anything ( not even water) down and had pain in my lower abdo, they gave me uv fluids. I am throwing up regularly. Had hypermesis for the whole 9 months so hoping this excessive vomiting passes after a few more weeks.

I do feel that eating regularly helps though and not eating as I am feeling sick makes things worse. have booking in app at the end of the month and the 12 week scan appt came through for mid June.

CuppaSarah · 14/05/2015 17:22

Thinking of you Sherbet! I have hit a new low today. I cried at work, big messy, snotty tears. I got messed about all afternoon by schedulers, then finally got a job that was an hour away, an hour before I finished, so once I did the job and got home I'd be home at least two hours late. Accepted the job like an idiot as we has a presentation today on how if our productivity is bad we'll have disciplinary meetings. But got so upset I was a mess. My coach I accidentally cried to then a colleugue who eventually came to help. Only an hour late in the end, but sick of giving an inch and work taking a mile

I had spotting yesterday and cramping, which scared the life out of me. Nothing more today. Seems very common though from everyone on here's experience .

sherbertlemon17 · 14/05/2015 17:35

Thank you for your kind words of support ladies, it really makes a difference!

We have had a good day! Spotting has stopped and baby looks nice and healthy with a good strong heart beat. My blood work from A&E Tuesday night apparently is spot on too, which is a massive weight off of our minds. We even got some pictures! Can't stop looking at them... Baby actually looks like a little person! Haha!

Midwife booking in tomorrow, which I was dreading, but I now can't wait!

Cuppa, work sounds like complete crap! It's so hard to get the balance when they are taking the mick, but your worried about doing your job well.

Hope you're feeling better miniangel.

sherbertlemon17 · 14/05/2015 17:38

Sweep, just saw your post. When I spoke to the GP, he said if is very light, brown or pinky not to worry. But if it's red, and more than the first day of your period, get it checked out.

CuppaSarah · 14/05/2015 17:57

Sweep sorry to hear about your spotting, it deffineitly is going around, it must be common nat this point in things. I heard once half of all healthy pregnancies have bleeding. I'd say 50% of us here have bled so maybe its right.

You're totally right about work. I can't get the balance right and just can't cope with knowing everyday I could have hours of unexpected forced overtime. I would happily walk away if I could right now. Sorry to be so negative. I've not had bleeding my sickness is reassuring but not too bad. I should be happy.

SweepTheHalls · 14/05/2015 18:56

It's hard to be happy when work is chappy.

SweepTheHalls · 14/05/2015 18:56

Chappy? Crappy!

CuppaSarah · 14/05/2015 19:25

I do love my chappy co workers! Although they all magically knew I'm pregnant at the team meeting today Hmm when asking if I was still judged on productivity with my pregnancy and all one yelled out 'Should have made him wear a condom instead!' Which did make me laugh. But yeah works craptacular. I think this weeks been a not craptacular for everyone by the sounds of it. Basically the first trimester is something us delicate pregnant women should not be subjected too.

Evening, how's everyone doing?

I had my annual asskissing away day at work today, loads of alcohol on the tables, a free bar and people go out round town afterwards...I nursed a j2o and thought about how annoying people are once drunk!
Sickness is not fucking off either, despite daily drugs, may have to go back and try some others...
Midwife appointment on Monday though, managed to get one sooner than 12 weeks so there's even a chance my scan will be on time!

CuppaSarah · 16/05/2015 11:46

That sounds a nightmare OhHolyFuck. Glad you got the midwife sorted though. Mine is Thursday looking forward to it.

After getting upset over not feeling very sick anymore I nearly threw up while driving for no reason Grin surprisingly reassuring. Also my curry obsession is beyond a joke at the moment. I'm suddenly immune to spicyness. Poor dd is struggling with her curry she has for lunch as it tasted too mild I put away to much spice in.

And now ds1 is covered in chicken pox....Hmm
