The pants can handle huge loads of piss, so I expect them to be able to handle the blood as well. They are essentially just diapers for adults. I used to work in a care home for people with dementia and sadly, loads of them needed these because they were incontinent. And you can always stick a maternity pad in them as well!

broodylicious · 18/05/2015 15:57

Mmm I'm not convinced - blood and pee not the same - but each to their ownSmile

hmm, yeah I'm with broody on this.
there is a lot of blood and clots and it's generally yuck so big thick pads for me Grin

Fattycow · 18/05/2015 17:51

There not the same, but as the pants can handle poo, I'm not worried about clots.

Fattycow · 18/05/2015 17:51

They're, not there.

smallgreenbanana · 18/05/2015 18:20

I love you ladies sometimes - competitive absorption solutions! Whose can hold the most heavy combo of bodily fluids and solids? Why not just tape a sheep to your bottom? Wool is super absorbant (used for clearing up oil spills) and the sheep could double up as a form of locomotion (training not provided) thus saving your energy for those night feeds. Now that would be hardcore Grin

Fattycow · 18/05/2015 18:21

small, that is just brilliant! Now, where can I get a good supply of sheep?

Zampa · 18/05/2015 18:23

Favourite post ever small. Ever, ever, ever!

I am very tempted to eat all DH's special treats. Please tell me not to do it!

fattymcfatfat · 18/05/2015 18:43

erm... sorry no can do, I'm like the little devil that sits on your shoulder Wink

Fattycow · 18/05/2015 19:03

You are not helping!

NurseP · 18/05/2015 19:29

Do it Fattycow!!!! ?

fattymcfatfat · 18/05/2015 19:40

if it makes you feel better, I have just eaten 2 kinder Buenos and a bag of minstrels Blush Grin

Luckystar82 · 18/05/2015 19:56

I think I've OD'd on maternity pads - I purchased 6 packs of 10 pads because they were on offer at Superdrug. I can't believe I'm going to get through all of these!

small I imagine they used sheep wool wrapped in muslin back in the day!

MrsFbabyNo1 · 18/05/2015 20:02

Grin Grin Grin at today's conversation!!!

MrF doesn't have any special treats, I just eat them all and rarely share (he totally is not fussed by sweet treats). But... He is amazed about how I can easily eat something to myself and he doesn't get a look in. Like the 24 box of Ferrero's I ate in 2 days over easter. Shock I did however make the second box of 24 last me 4 days a month or so later. Wink

MrsFbabyNo1 · 18/05/2015 20:10

I previously had couple pairs of "period pants" - basically big black lycra primark knickers - that I would only wear at night when wanted to use a sanitary pad.

I'm a permanent thong wearer and have been for 10+ years. But these big pants are so lush and comfortable, so I've bought a load of them (and have my massive mat pads from Boots) for post birth. I'm really looking forward to my granny pants and big fat mat pads!!! Grin

MustBeLoopy390 · 18/05/2015 20:15

Loving the sheep idea! Certainly would make life easier Grin
I bought some rather large period pants from tesco (multipack) and just used the doorstop sized towels with the last two, it'll be the same again this time.

broodylicious · 18/05/2015 20:19

[feeling ever so slightly offended by that "competitive" comment....]

Sorry to burst your bubbles but it wouldn't work ladies - sheep wool is waterproof when 'in situ' so to speak. It's the lanolin.

Fattycow · 18/05/2015 21:13

lordy, no! I have spent all evening looking for a flock of sheep!

fattymcfatfat · 18/05/2015 21:15

well that's crap. Sad stupid waterproof sheeps

broody don't take offence, I'm sure none was meant.

Charliej86 · 18/05/2015 21:18

I wear big pants all the time. My plan is to wear them then buy new. I'm hoping to not just lose baby weight but get fit (been a long time coming lol) so will hopefully be buying something a bit smaller, n less comfy lol.

fattymcfatfat · 18/05/2015 21:20

I need to lose the weight from this pregnancy and the weight I put on since having DD (spd/pgp played up constantly so mobility has been an issue) Sad

Fattycow · 18/05/2015 21:24

My exercise plan for when baby is here is walking a ridiculous amount with the pram. As soon as I'm up to it, I will be walking to my MIL each day, have a cup of tea, continue on my mum and have DH pick us up there after work. After a while I'll probably walk back by myself as well. Just slowly increasing the distance is the plan for now.
DH also wants to do a lot of walking with the pram, so when he is off, we can go on walks together.
