Thanks solstice.
I had forgot about the tea when doing the online food shop for the first time yesterday. So wondering if the local co-op will sell it

Hidingthefear · 31/03/2015 17:01

thanks RL, let us know how your appointment goes tomorrow :)
I think you should click buy on the mother care basket seen as you haven't had to buy a cot. might make you feel better about using it for the bambino because it means you can treat baby to stuff you want instead of buying furniture :) (im good at justifying purchases, i do it all the time to DH lmao)

btw, for anyone still batch cooking these are brilliant so thought i'd share storage bags they can be put in the freezer, fridge and microwave. you can wash and re-use them too if you want. I've done steak and kidney ash and sausage casserole so far. i'm thinking they'll come in handy for quick meals when i'm breast feeding and it will be easy enough for DH to pour in a pan or microwave and they take up less room than tupperware boxes which is great for our small freezer.

Stressful morning today at renal obstetric clinic. Midwife couldn't find the heartbeat with two different Doppler's and ran me to scan to check baby was alive. That's after her having to take blood three times as she kept missing my veins. All was fine with heartbeat. Then she tried to do my sweep but apparently my cervix wasn't favorable so I was very disappointed and it was v painful. Consultant booked me in for induction on sat morning. I was convinced they wouldn't do it on easter weekend. Anyway looks like I'll be having an easter baby. Shock
Just need to find things to keep me occupied as I'd done everything in case it all kicked off today.
37+5

RL20 · 31/03/2015 17:45

Omg holly - so glad everything turned out ok for you and baby! You must have been so scared! Had you still been feeling movements?
At least there's not long for you to go now, then, before baby is in your arms!

Hiding, yes I think I will, I'm also good at justifying purchases! Grin
It's just that I also want one of the Sit Me Up Cosy's and a Bouncer from there too. So it's deciding which of all these things to get first!

And yes Hiding will post after my midwife appointment tomorrow!

Thanks Squatting. Going to have a quick google now as to where they're available locally to me!
Also had weird weather here, too. On off raining and sunshine all day, really windy, and even had a huge downpour of hail!?

Wineandchoccy · 31/03/2015 18:05

Holly what a scary morning for you I bet your blood pressure was through the roof after that experience. Put your feet up and get some rest before the weekend.

38week midwife appt today was all good, next appt on due date then if nothing happened at 41 weeks will have a sweep then to hopefully kick start something. If I go to term estimated weight is 8 1/2 - 9lbs. I had to walk into town because I have no car until tomorrow it's only a 10 min walk normally it took me 1/2 hour on the way home felt like I was being poked with a hot poker up my bits, ouch!

We have the crib set up in our room, cot bed is in babies room and we have a Moses basket for downstairs + the pram, I'm betting baby will not sleep in any of them and will end up in our bed cosleeping with us. I have used Moses basket sheets for the pram so that the mattress does not get spoilt.

daholster · 31/03/2015 18:22

RL yes to sheet in the pram bassinet. If nothing else they dribble and puke on the mattress!!!! Moses sheets normally fit.

Home from Peppa Pig World. OMG I am so glad to be home! Managed 12.30-16.30 and I am so done. Dd is still napping!!! So she's not going to be in bed on time... It's quarter past six!!!! She has been so fractious with me today. I wonder if she knows something.

I too have felt very vulnerable today. Especially this afternoon I suddenly wished dh was coming home today not tomorrow. Which is silly because I have a nice "last night to myself" plan of a bath and a tub of Ben and Jerry's once dd is asleep!!! So why would I want him home??? But I just feel I do. And I've had 3 BHs in a row spaced 16 mins apart which have been a little uncomfy low down, with lots of downward pressure. My BHs are just not uncomfy normally.

I know there isn't any point in worrying about it and have probably just overdone it. Its hard to know what to do when dh's last chance for a flight is 8pm...! Hmm

Dad is here again, he is painting the ceiling in baby's room Smile

Lauren82000 · 31/03/2015 18:24

RL are you having to give it back after you've finished with it? Perhaps you can personalise it with some nice nursery type stickers. I bet you could put the removeable ones you can get for the wall and put them on it. Might help you think of it more as yours than hers.

Just made cakes with DD. Bit crispy round the edges but taste pretty good if I say so myself. We did yellow, green and blue icing with star sprinkles. Slightly annoyed as I was going to bake with her Thursday afternoon but she insisted I bake with her after nursery. Least she agreed that daddy could take some for work so I suppose I could bake again on Thursday. Maybe cookies this time. Will need some more flour I used the last.

RL20 · 31/03/2015 18:38

Glad your appointment went well Wine Smile.

Daholster glad to hear you're not painting the ceiling!
I don't blame you for wanting your other half home, but it'll soon be tomorrow before you know it! Enjoy yourself tonight and just relax.
I can't believe you braved Peppa Pig World! What was the weather like there? You definitely deserve a tub if Ben and Jerry's!

Lauren that's a good idea. As far as I know we haven't got to give it back. I'll look into ways of personalising it!

AnniaFausta · 31/03/2015 18:47

Holly, that sounds like a really rough day - hope you are able to calm down and relax this evening.

RL, I've been sort of following the advice someone on here (Boo? Squatting?) gave about raspberry leaf tea after getting the OK from the midwife:

1 cup every other day at 32 weeks
1 cup every day at 33 weeks
1 or 2 cups a day at 34 weeks
2 cups a day at 35 weeks
Up to 3 cups a day from 36 weeks

Have only just upped to 3 cups a day and keep forgetting, though ;) I'm drinking the Clipper ones, which are 50% leaf, and I quite like the taste.

DH set up the Snuzpod on Sunday. It is now sitting in the bedroom waiting to be tethered to the bed, and for me to wash all the sheets etc. to make it up. Feeling about ready to start thinking about a small person occupying it now maternity leave has started!

FiRaffe · 31/03/2015 19:03

Oh Holly, what a day! Glad they sorted it in the end.

Just resting but need to make brownies tonight for my leaving on Thursday. It is worth it, but just need the energy!

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 31/03/2015 19:11

Just remembered we have a kind of folding moses basket-type thing which Taran was in about twice.. looks a bit like a coffin, though! but it'll do for naps in here if the travel cot from the pram doesn't do the job.

Holly, what an awful day! Glad everything's looking better and Easter baby sounds good, babies on "events" means people remember their birthdays.

TinyTear · 31/03/2015 20:19

Sheeeeeee's here!!!

Born this morning and adorable...

I know I posted in the mc thread and fb but think I forgot you guys

Elcs but took ages to get stitched as apparently my insides are a mess with things stuck where they shouldn't... Oh well...

IvegotaCaveTroll · 31/03/2015 20:22

Ur pics are so cute tiny.
I think Siaris gone to get checked out too.

TheBooMonster · 31/03/2015 20:49

squee tiny congratulations!

kismac · 31/03/2015 21:11

Oh jeez, Holly! That sounds really stressful. Glad everything is ok and yay for getting your date.

Congratulations Tiny! She's so lovely.

Wineandchoccy · 31/03/2015 21:21

Congratulations Tiny

I'm uncomfortable tonight, I've tried sitting on my ball, a dining room chair, walking around and now I'm giving up and going to bed to read a book, night all.

It's April tomorrow are any more babies going to appear before March ends?

mswibble · 31/03/2015 21:39

Congratulations tiny!, the pics are lovely and despite your troubles getting stitched up you both look radiant!

Well I came back from my appt with a full goody bag containing a blood sugar monitor, lancets, strips and a sharps bin! Need to test first thing in the morning then an hr after breakfast, dinner and tea. Have already learnt that pizza and a quarter of Victoria sponge does not give a good result!

Just had a text to say the cot is coming between 10 and 1pm tomorrow, but I have the MW at 10.45 ... hmmm, whats the betting he turns up 2mins after I leave. Havent even been given an option to rearrange!

AnniaFausta · 31/03/2015 21:40

Congratulations, Tiny, and welcome mini-Tiny!!

Lauren82000 · 31/03/2015 21:44

Don't think so wine but you never know. I am in full sympathy for being uncomfortable. Baby is spinning and stretching in my pelvis. Doesn't not feel good. Been on the ball, on my side, cross legged with back straight. But its just not settling. Might have to head up to bed myself.

cinnamongreyhound · 31/03/2015 21:50

We have the cot up with mattress I not but still in its bag, it's in a bid to freak out the cats if they jump in there but so far none of them have!

It's crazy RL20, I had my first within being sexually active for 6 months. I don't find s&s too bad and they always tell you to ask them to stop if it's too uncomfortable.

Never seen mine smogsville but I understand it's very snot like. I keep checking with hope every time I go for a wee but sure baby is still very high so not hopeful to see any this time either!

Sorry you had a bad appointment Heyitsholly, but glad all is ok with baby. Mine wouldn't induce me until after the bh but they want surgical team to be available.

Congratulations TinyTear!! Hopefully they've left you nice and tidy Wink

Sounds very technical mswibble!

I've been so emotional all day Sad feeling very down about being induced again and what will happen with baby when he's here. Had lots of cuddles with my babies today and they are so sweet they never say when mummy needs one. Had some difficult moments with mindees today so I'm tired as well as fed up!

daholster · 31/03/2015 21:55

Desperate for dd to fall asleep! She is coughing poor little thing Sad I am getting the bladder stabs and feeling uncomfy. Lots of it while reading bedroom stories! I think having her cuddled so close and having such lovely time with her increases my prolactin levels or something and makes my cervix get a bit busy! I do not remember all this with dd. That feeling that there is a stab and pressure and uh oh what if the waters go pop?!

holly I forgot to say how I am so impressed you didn't have a bigger flap - I am sure you were terrified! Let's hope we all get to the end safely. I'm glad that everything is sorted though and you have your date, good luck!

Oh dd please manage to get to sleep... Poor thing... But I'll be asleep and have missed my bath if its much longer!!!

FiRaffe · 31/03/2015 22:17

I hope your DD goes to sleep on daholster.

Starting work at 6 tomorrow so should be asleep, but baby is wriggling in a weird place I can't settle... I hope they have just dropped, but off to the doctor tomorrow for my 36 week appointment so hopefully they will confirm all is okay and they are well head down. Can they turn this late if their head is already in my pelvis?

RL20 · 31/03/2015 22:19

Thanks Annia RE Raspberry Leaf Tea. I'll be on the hunt for it tomorrow! I'm 37+1 but think I'll start off with just the 1 cup a day!

Congratulations Tiny!

Thanks for reassurance Cinnamon. It may not even come to a sweep but it's nice to feel a bit prepared!

Hope everyone's had a good day.
Will update tomorrow after my midwife appointment, although I'm sure I'll be catching up on any posts if I happen to be awake around 5am like normal!

Night all Brew
