RL - one good reason for getting the cot set up is it just gives you another spot to pop baby down (under a mobile perhaps) while you're in nursery sorting clean clothes into drawers etc. far from vital as you can always pop him/ her on floor, but as you're going to be assembling it within a few months you may as well get it up now if feasible. Just think about the money saved! Like Lauren I wondered if stickers might be a winner. Or failing that our baby cot, about to be reused for this baby, is a perfectly fine white ikea one with two levels, cost around £50.
Ebwy I love your dad he sounds fab!
Holly sorry you had to go through all that stress, exciting for Saturday though.
Squatting - maybe try scouring local charity shops? I often seem to see Moses baskets in there and a new mattress isn't much. Quite useful to be able to cart sleeping baby from room to room with you.
daholster I am feeling strangely vulnerable as mum and dad are off on hols for ten days tomorrow. I obviously just need to grow a pair, it's not as if DH is going anywhere other than work but I've got used to having lots of time with my mum since I've stopped work and it's been an enormous comfort, to say nothing of help with DD.
Tiny, congratulations! Hope the recovery and first few days go well.
Cinnamon I had a look at some plug pics online, I don't recommend it. Don't think this was a plug having seen what I've seen... Sorry you had a tough day with all the mindees, I think you're doing a v impressive job. Not long now until you meet your baby and then at least you will have some proper info instead of just worrying about what might be.
Mswibble I am a list writer bc it calms me down and makes me feel more in control. Some people manage perfectly well without this ridiculous level of forward planning so if that's you, don't worry about it.
Good for you Penguin, keep plugging away, the times will sort themselves out in due course.
Been out for food a couple of times in last week and felt a tiny bit off afterwards - think it's bc I've been eating fairly rich stuff. I don't think it's food poisoning or anything, rather I need to tone it down and eat more simply. Discovered last night that DD likes confit duck and creme brûlée, so holidays in rural France should be a winner when she's older. She ate so much I was worried she might be sick. It's funny bc up until recently (she's 3.5) she didn't really seem to like meat at all and now suddenly she's a massive fan of duck and lamb, two of the strongest flavours out there.
Term today!
