Haha velcro. I like it. I tried playing my zoo baby crying noises to help prepare them. They weren't phased in the slightest but I had to turn it off after a couple of minutes I couldn't take any more. Hmm Bodes well lol.

Enjoy Peppa Pig world! Take it easy!

Knitting club starting this morning. From ft teacher to knitting club. Oh dear. I can't even knit. 2nd day of Easter hols and already climbing the walls and people think I'm mental for wanting to go back to work in September.

daholster · 31/03/2015 08:13

Hiya, central back is killing me. Slept well though! Bit of a headache. Still secretly hoping won't have to go to Peppa Pig World though the wind has eased Hmm

Sounds like a terrible mum buy actually I want a rest!!! And dd has no idea whatseoever about the plans so no disappointing her.

Yes wine 38 weeks!!!! Shock

daholster · 31/03/2015 08:16

PS Anyone else clumsy? Omg this last 2 weeks I am a total nightmare and making myself so cross! I am dropping stuff and knocking things over ALL THE TIME! First thing I did this morning was reach for my glass of water (yes I was looking at what I was doing) and misjudged it, trying to pick it up before fully got it and just knocked IG over. Had to get up and clean the flood. So irritating!!!!

AnniaFausta · 31/03/2015 08:17

The wind's blown over the bird feeder here, so it must have been going quite strong! I was hoping to get out into the garden to do a bit of dead-heading today, but I think I might let that wait until the wind's died down a bit. I do want to stand the bird feeder back up before the squirrel realises it's down and an easy target - but as DH said, the squirrel is probably clinging to a tree for dear life at the moment...

cinnamongreyhound · 31/03/2015 08:19

Hope you have a lovely but restful time at PeppaPig world daholster!

My pets don't seem to be bothered either way!

I think yesterday must have been the day for discomfort! My little man seemed to be trying to get out everywhere but the right way! He was pressing on everything and I was so uncomfortable. Sitting on my ball made no difference what so ever but trying to get him down a bit before my midwife apt tomorrow. Luckily slept really well and was so tired from my busy day I didn't lay in bed thinking which was lovely!

Are you going back full time Brummagem? See how bored you are once baby is here Wink

cinnamongreyhound · 31/03/2015 08:21

Wind is horrible here, has broken my fence although Dh was planning to prop it up over paternity leave as it has been looking worse for wear over the last few months!

And just discovered the water I spilled has dripped down into my underwear drawer so the knickers I have just put on are wet Angry What a lovely way to start the day!!! No exciting or romantic reasons for wet knickers here...!

Lauren82000 · 31/03/2015 09:36

Everybody is out of the house and I'm all alone Grin this is certainly the first day of my maternity leave. (Yesterday didn't count as DH and DD were off too) need to nip out and get some milk and bread but can't decide if I should do it sooner or later? Also need to try and get a baby name book but can't be bothered going into town and parking miles away from the only shop I need to go in. Hmm

Got a bit of back ache and a bit of period type pains. Also convinced I lost a tiny bit of plug this morning it was about the size of a 5p. DH made me laugh this morning as we were getting ready he said I'll have to eat curry all week as I'm 37w tomorrow. He also said he couldn't remember what to do with a baby. Hmm Idiot! Looks like he is going to be getting a crash course from DD.Grin

BrixtonBunny · 31/03/2015 09:46

Wind is blowing a gale here too - and we finally have roofers round to replace the few missing roof tiles we inherited (seriously - I'm sure I've said it before but the state of this house when we bought it made me really question how some people live. So uncared for and filthy and gross)! I'm a bit worried for their safety up there on long ladders. But they seem to know what they are doing...

We also have a handman round at the moment who is installing a curtain pole in our bay window in our bedroom. This means I cannot laze around in bed today! But on the plus side soon I will be able to stop sleeping with an eye mask Wink

Actually, a non-baby related question - has anyone bought custom made curtains before? I think our window is too big for any I've seen for sale (the length of the pole is around 3.2 meters). Any advice / tips?

We finally painted the baby room yesterday, just need to go over the gloss around the window. We've moved the changing table and a book case in there, just need to put up some picture rails and a blind or curtains and maybe a little rug, and it should be good to go.

Starting to feel a little bit more prepared now... Just need to finish hospital bag in case we need to transfer in!

38+5 (so should really get on the case Shock)

Daholster YES to the clumsiness! I'd put it down to carpal tunnel but maybe it's hormonal? You did make me laugh though with your wet knicker story. This morning I choked on my coffee and spat it out all over the kitchen and all over clean crockery that had just come out of the dishwasher. Classy.

Lauren happy maternity leave! Baby name book reminds me that we really need to get cracking with picking a boy's name. Confused

Lol! Well I dropped a tearful little girl for an hour and a half at nursery. She is definitely clocking on. Maybe she can sense it is soon, kids can be amazing like that. Or maybe its because grandpa stayed overnight, but eyes filled withbtears and its so unlike her. At least I can get her again soon Grin in an hour, in fact!!! Have done the heavy lifting (computer for my cousin and buggy) into car, now sitting with coffee and will do "Kaitlin's bag with weather appropriate clothes, nappies and snacks" along with video camera next. Sit with this drink and a biscuit first though...

I always wondered about this bowling ball feeling. I don't remember getting it with dd. Is it the feeling I get when I say it feels like my pelvis is pulling apart in the middle and its carrying the weight of my bump, and the inside tops of my legs hurt with the weight too? I guess I could waddle if I wanted... I don't want to though!!!

daholster · 31/03/2015 09:53

Ooh just seen that a friend of mine has had her baby at 38+6 (first one), a little boy called Jenson Smile

skyra13 · 31/03/2015 10:06

Morning all!

Smog Car accident wasn't that bad it was more panic over baby just incase it caused any problems! Plus does not help that I keep having dreams of car crashes!!

Brixton I ended up making my own curtains as it worked out cheap to buy the material and get my mum to teach me. Do you know anyone who could make you some?
I find that when getting a company to do it costs a fortune! I also used door curtains to as they are big, also adding a net or sheen type of curtain a the ends just makes them a bit longer and nice to have different colours.

Lauren Good luck with the curry lol I have has 2 sweeps eating curry and pineapple till it comes out my ears not doing much! Doctor told me yesterday walk loads and eat lots of steak for iron!
So going to have a longgg walk around Morrisons to try an get things moving and buy some take to make a beef Stroganoff lol
Me and DH have not got a clue what to do with a baby lol

My garden fence seems to still be intact! Last year lost about 5 panels so hoping it all stays up!

Need to take dog out might put it of till after shopping the wind does not look inviting!

Lost a big bit of plug last night and some this morning had some twinges please dear god I hope something is happening!

StuntNun · 31/03/2015 10:13

Brixton in our bay window we have two pairs of ready-made curtains (patio door size). It's a bit of a nuisance having to pull four curtains instead of two but much cheaper than made to measure.

BrixtonBunny · 31/03/2015 10:15

Skrya I don't think I know anyone that handy (and I certainly wouldn't trust myself to make curtains from scratch)! Exciting about your plug - hopefully things will start moving soon.

Stunt that's an idea - could buy two pairs and then get someone to sew them together...

OP posts:
Lauren82000 · 31/03/2015 10:21

Do what my mum did but 2 lots of curtains and stitch them together at the top. They still hang right and you don't have to pull 2 lots of curtains.

Lauren82000 · 31/03/2015 10:21

*buy not but. Confused

kismac · 31/03/2015 10:29

Don't think we had much wind here but then I sleep like the dead.

Lauren, put your feet up and do nothing. You are on mat leave!

Brixton, we got our curtains made but that's cause we stay in a tenement flat and have high ceilings. They are expensive but beautiful!

On train heading into work to clear my desk and return my laptop. 1.5 hour commute. Will feel very silly if something happens when Im in different city. Also, pretty sure I lost a bit of plug this morning. Jelly blob thing? Feeling excited but scared too.

daholster · 31/03/2015 10:37

Yep sounds like plug, been losing bits of mine last 2 days again too. No bloody bits though. I lost lots of it around 25 weeks I think, nothing ever happened! It just regenerated so I'm not going to get excited about any of it! I really started losing plug in labour last time at around 4cm dilated and then there was tons of it, you couldn't miss that!!! Blush

kismac · 31/03/2015 10:43

Oops. Word of warning. Don't text your DH that you think you've lost a bit of plug unless you want to give him a panic attack. Ha ha.

RL20 · 31/03/2015 10:45

Chicken I think my cat will be scared too. I remember reading somewhere to play baby crying noises etc to the cat, to get them used to it!
My other half did it a while back but it irritated me more than it did the cat!
Perhaps because it wasn't a real life baby, and he's used to hearing all sorts of noises from the tv as he's an indoor cat.

Has anyone else set up the cot/Moses basket in their bedroom yet?
Thinking of bringing the Moses basket over from my mums later. Am bringing all of the clothes and other bits and bobs (might get other half finally believing it's real!)

solstice930 · 31/03/2015 10:59

Argh! I'm 39+1 today and DH has left his phone at home! He's in lectures today so there's no way to reach him. I'm trying not to be cross as he was busy this morning getting our DD ready for nursery and took her in, but sod's law there will be a baby this afternoon!

BrixtonBunny · 31/03/2015 11:00

RL we set up the bedside crib up this weekend, I love waking up and seeing it! It's starting to make it feel a little bit more real. Ditto having the pram set up in the hall.

Stupid first timer question - do you need to buy mattress sheets for the pram carrycot?

OP posts:
RL20 · 31/03/2015 11:04

Brixton I wondered exactly the same!
It kind of looks like it needs a sheet? But I could be wrong. Would be interesting to know!

solstice930 · 31/03/2015 11:05

RL We have the crib set up in our room. I'll keep the moses basket in the living room for day time sleeping, although last time DD wasn't interested in sleeping in it after about two weeks Hmm
