Hope they will give you a gel Sairie! Still waiting for a room to have my waters broken. It's ridiculous, she said she was going over at 11.30 and has just walked past us and not said a thing. So has she been or not? Surely she has an answer one way or another? I've been crying half the morning so dh is getting very cross. Feel like I'm failing my little man, if he needs to be born then get with it if it's not a big deal then when am I even here? Already spoken to ds1 twice today who's struggling and keeps telling me he loves me. Not to mention 48hrs after this one is born when he's supposed to have his scan is going to fall on a weekend which throws up more questions.

Sounds like it could be cramp brummagem.

That's not ideal daholster but If you're happy with her response fair enough.

Eeek, sounds a bit scary TinyTear, glad you were seen though I doubt they'd send you away even if you didn't call first if you needed their attention.

FiRaffe · 08/04/2015 12:01

I expect baby will be stubborn and will still be waiting in May, but you never know. Am due on 24th April so doubt they will even induce me until after the bank holiday. Really want an April baby but it will make an appearance when it wants to!

FiRaffe · 08/04/2015 12:04

Sorry to hear you're still waiting cinnamon. Can't believe they aren't even keeping you updated. I know things happen and babies arrive spontaneously but it's just courtesy to tell you what is happening.

brummagem · 08/04/2015 12:06

cave I'm due 28th so real big chance of a May baby here. I don't want a May baby though so have stocked up on pineapple accordingly Grin

RL20 · 08/04/2015 12:13

Ivegotacavetroll I'm due on the 20th so although may be cutting it fine for a May baby, it's still possible although on my earlier post I mentioned that if possible I don't want to wait much over my due date because of previous reduced movements etc.

lila35 · 08/04/2015 12:20

oh cinnamon, thats rubbish. Really try not to beat yourself up about all of this, its out of your hands. Hopefully something will happen soon and your little man will make a quick entrance.

Still waiting on my urine sample results.....

Siarie · 08/04/2015 12:43

I'm waiting still for the doctor and the gel. Annoying isn't it cinnamon? Like this time could be used to wait for my cervix to get ripe but I've accepted you can't rush NHS hospitals.

Me and DH are in it for the longhaul

Siarie · 08/04/2015 12:44

Plus he went out for Costa so I've just enjoyed a nice toasted panni.

At least you're being spoilt Sairie!

skyra13 · 08/04/2015 12:54

My lovely contractions throughout the night have stopped! Had one all morning lots of plug gone though! X

daholster · 08/04/2015 13:06

cinnamon Flowers xxx you aren't failing him at all, he's fine and cosy xx

kismac · 08/04/2015 13:29

Aww cinnamon. Im so sorry you are having a rough time. If you're not feeling up to it get your DH to go and get some answers. You are doing so well. You just need to hang in there a wee bit longer.

Cave, Im due 19th but I feeling hopeful that I'll still get an April baby.

Daholster, I'd be tempted to go to pharmacy and see if you can get something to ease things. You don't want to get sick and end up going into labour.

Aww Skyra, think your body is playing tricks on you. I had really sore lower bump and back but some paracetamol and a sit down has helped. I wish my body would stop mocking me. Ha ha.

Just had bra fitting and my boobs are obscene. They were 32DD pre pregnancy and are now 38E!

Lauren82000 · 08/04/2015 13:33

Poor you cinnamon, I'm sure you'll hear something soon.

I'm just waiting to set off for my mw appointment. I was convinced it was 1.30 but luckily I rang to check this morning as it's actually 2pm so I would have been sat there for over an hour. Yes the waiting times for the mw are ridiculous makes you wonder why they insist on booking them in every 15mins when they clearly can't manage and by the afternoon they are so far past late your sat there for ages. Confused debating what to do with myself after it though. I need a lightbulb for the lamp in the front room and I've still got to finish the my knitting (baby sleeping bag). So close to the end it's really long at the moment until I sew it together, reaches my toes when I'm sat knitting it.

cinnamongreyhound · 08/04/2015 13:33

I've spoken to midwife and expressed all my concerns re baby needing to be born, post birth issues, my boys needing me, everyone else here being induced and likely to end up going into active labour before me and considering going home and she's got a Dr to examine me. He's not happy to break waters as head is still very high so I'm being monitored for 20mins and she's going to give me a gel. Fingers crossed it works as well as it did with ds2 and we get going.

cinnamongreyhound · 08/04/2015 13:35

My midwife this time is great Lauren82000, she's very efficient and is always on time no matter which appointment you have. With ds1 & 2 my midwife often didn't arrive until 30mins after clinic started and then made a cuppa and had a biccie and then LOVED a chat!

Well done cinnamon, I can't believe you were still just sitting waiting! Hope they come back at 20 mins and don't let you down now! Hopefully your body is well practised and will know what to do and you will beat all those other first timers! They obviously weren't considering the fact that your little boy need the specialists on hand and everything is easier in the week. Good for you for prodding them.

Lauren82000 · 08/04/2015 13:42

Well this one if it's my usual one is very unchatty and very stern looking. But still manages to be late! I never know why they only do one climic a week makes it very difficult to get hold of them with their answer service. Anyway I'm off to said appointment must remember my wee sample. Grin

TinyTear · 08/04/2015 13:45

So annoying to be kept waiting. I ended up never seeing my community midwife as I had all the other appointments so never bothered

Cinnamon, hope they see you soon. Last time I had to wait for a theatre to be free before they broke my waters in case there was meconium and I needed to go straight in...

cinnamongreyhound · 08/04/2015 13:50

She told dh to go and get her if she doesn't come back in 20mins daholster! I'm not a fuss maker but I could feel dh getting madder and madder so thought I'd better say something rather than him!!

That really sucks then Lauren82000. Ours do clinics different days at different doctors (pretty rural) but there's always an office number you can call them from.

PenguinPoser · 08/04/2015 13:58

Hope your appt goes well Lauren.

Cinnamon you poor thing you've been there for ages already! I really hope the pessary gets things moving for you. Good on you standing up for yourself and getting sorted.
Siarie hope things speed up for you as well!

Squatting hope you're ok too, sounds like lots of people are in the beginnings of things!

I went to bf support group this morning for the first time although there was only one other person there! Gave me a bit more confidence to go back though. Health visitor prescribed me some cream for my nipple thrush Blush and to continue with DDs drops. She is 6lb6oz now so gained 3oz in the last 6 days which to me doesn't seem like enough but they don't seem worried. Shes on 2nd centile. But that doesn't take into account that she was 3 weeks early. She's still feeding for ages at a time but I just keep being told that it's normal at the moment so oh well. I literally spend about 8 hours a day feeding I think Confused

We went for a nice walk afterwards anyway. She's napping now and I am trying to decide between napping or going to my mums for a bit... Maybe nap first!

cinnamongreyhound · 08/04/2015 14:12

A gain is a gain PenguinPoser! 8hrs out of 24? And usually as long as the baby follows a centile they're happy, even if it's a low or high one. Try not to worry! Definitely nap first Wink

Gel is in, 30 mins monitoring and then it's operation get things moving!

IvegotaCaveTroll · 08/04/2015 14:13

Cinnamon and Siari- I shouldn't say it but often the patient that makes the most fuss gets sorted first. Obv don't piss people off but make sure they know u are there.

Especially with all ur extra worry cinnamon - but I'm hoping pessary is in and so u getting sorted xx
Thinking of all u ladies in hospital today xx

IvegotaCaveTroll · 08/04/2015 14:15

Sorry crossed post cinnamon- yay for having the gel in!

( in no other circumstance would I be cheating about someone sticking stuff up ur fanjo!)

cinnamongreyhound · 08/04/2015 14:40
