Good luck today Siarie - you must be so relieved that an end to the itching is in sight!

Cinnamon really hope they get some space for you soon, so frustrating that you're left in limbo like this.

Daholster I'm really sorry you feel so poorly. I had a heavy cold a couple of weeks ago and it just absolutely took it out of me, and I don't have another child to look after! Try and get as much rest as possible and for heavens' sake never feel bad about moaning to us Wink

daholster · 08/04/2015 07:47

Oh but I embarrass myself by moaning and moaning and moaning...! Thank you though.

Took some paracetamol whichi usually try not to but decided needs must, I'll feel better and dd needs a happy mummy!

Feeling more positive now its the day time, I'm dressed and upright and it helps a bit.

Dd has just woken up and declared down the monitor that she is awake!

brixton Zen is good, well done you!

Best go and get cheeky chops, as usual my coffee will wait!

cinnamongreyhound · 08/04/2015 07:50

Sounds positive BrixtonBunny, what's the time scale once your waters have gone before they start to worry about infection? Really hope baby gets a wriggle on and yo get your home birth.

Good luck Sairie, I'm in a bay with 4 other women, all first timers and all with the pessary in for 24hrs, all seem to be having period pains and odd contractions but no one has been whisked away so far!

smogsville · 08/04/2015 08:14

If you sit there and have a little weep for GP that might swing it on the prescription daholster although Penguin's suggestion could be a winner. I too was awake from just before 5 for no apparent reason. Fortunately DH didn't wake up too, there's no point two people lying there wishing they could drop back off again.

Cinnamon you sound quite cheerful to your eternal credit. I'm a bit appalled that no one has offered you a plain old cup of tea and some toast Angry hopefully your DH is there by now with yummy provisions from the outside world.

Good work on staying positive Brixton. Sorry you've had a crap night sleep wise.

And to you Siarie, well done on feeling excited. Lots of good positive attitudes on here this morning.

Have now got to point where most things are basically ready so have started focusing on really stupid stuff like what if BF doesn't work this time (there is no alternative, I've no bottles or sterilising equipment so it's going to have to!) and putting winter coats up in loft room and other completely non essential, non urgent bits and bobs. At least it's another nice day today so after a morning of jobs I'm taking DD to the park cafe which has just got its bouncy castle out again with a friend and her sons.

daholster · 08/04/2015 08:23

Got a telephone appointment which is fine. She can always slot me I'm tomorrow or whatever if she wants to see how it goes, I don't mind. My friend has just told me she and her little boy can't go to play gym this morning so we will be going alone! Dd will be so disappointed, she has been going on about seeing them since yesterday. Maybe nan joining us a bit later will make up for it...

Hidingthefear · 08/04/2015 08:48

Just checking in, bit behind.

oo brixton how exciting! i'm planning home birth too so will be watching with interest :)

Good luck cinnamon!!

I have had absolutely zero signs that i am near the end of my pregnancy and im 39+2 :( no leaky boobs, no BH, no leaky waters, no period pains, no show. i wonder if labour will spontaneously surprise me?? MW appointment on Tuesday and she said they'll give me a sweep at the appointment. Baby shower on Saturday so at least i can see everyone before baby arrives seen as he's not made an appearance.

Cant remember who said it earlier but i also don't think there is really any way to bring on labour unless baby is actually ready. not through lack of trying either, long walks, bouncing on my ball, relaxing baths with birthing visualisations, curry, lots of DTD, this boy is just too comfy in there :(

cinnamongreyhound · 08/04/2015 08:48

No dh still not here smogsville, not cheerful at all, trying not to cry right now!! And everything is help yourself, which I guess at least makes you get up and do something. I'm not good at being inside! Im usually out in the forest walking my dogs at 6.45 and I miss fresh air!!!!

TinyTear · 08/04/2015 09:02

Good luck to everyone in labour today.
Last night had to pop to the labour ward. Suddenly noticed my section wound was weeping bloody discharge and was convinced it had ruptured.

DD was asleep so DH stayed in with her, but I bundled Newbie in the manduca just for support and called a cab.

Fortunately nothing serious but doctor said it was a bit smelly so giving me antibiotics. Midwife said if it was a rupture I'd have had to call an ambulance and wouldn't have been able to just go there... Also that I should have called first... Oops... I just didn't even think of calling...

So back to lots of rest and letting the wound air a bit...

smogsville · 08/04/2015 09:17

Tiny that sounds stressful. So now is it just a case of waiting for it to heal and antis to do their thing?

Oh cinnamon sorry to hear that. i understand about not liking being inside.

skyra13 · 08/04/2015 09:27

Morning all.
Seem my last sweep may of done some thing woken up this morning and lost so much plug!! It was gross lol
Also been contracting/braxton hicks all night every time I wake up bump been as hard as a rock! nothing painful park from my knee locking up lol

I have just had to book into the dentist again as my tooth still hurting! really hope they can solve what it is as it only hurts when moving mouth in certain ways. :(

roastpots · 08/04/2015 09:31

My contractions started at 2.30am so I'm off! Called my parents to come over at 4am for DD just in case it went quickly but looks like I'm in for the long haul too, brixton. Contractions 6 mins apart but not really ramping up in intensity. I went back to bed 5-7am and I think that slowed things down. Trying to keep active now. Wondering whether to risk a little potter around the park - but DH not so keen!!

TinyTear · 08/04/2015 09:42

Yep. And sent DH to get the antibiotics but it seems there is an issue with the prescription so he is having to check up at the labour ward...

lila35 · 08/04/2015 10:00

Ahhhh none of these babies want to come quickly today do they? Looks like theres going to be a lot of hanging around for everyone! Good luck to everyone in the early stages.

I'm back to the day assessment unit to redo a urine sample that got lost yesterday, hoping its the all clear for pre eclampsia but worst case scenario they will induce sooner rather than later.

I am now 6 days over, no bh, no plug, no waters and an anterior cervix that is only open a teeny tiny bit according to the mw yesterday, nothing happening on its own anytime soon then.....

brummagem · 08/04/2015 10:14

Oooh Brixton hope it all goes well! Same for everyone else with impending deliveries!

Glad you're ok Tiny though can't believe the mw chastised about ringing 1st it might be true but after all to discover a scar leaking the 1st thing you're going to do is hot foot it to hospital esp with newborn to care for.

I had the mother of all cramps last night it was so painful it woke me up and I was doubled over. Like cramp you get in your calf really intense seizing of muscle. Tummy felt all bruised this morning. Should I ring the mw or is it just a BH ramping up intensity type thing? Had them over last 2 nights but last night was the most intense.

FiRaffe · 08/04/2015 10:32

I don't know for sure brummagem, but if they aren't regular then probably just BH from what i've read.

Hope things are going well now cinnamon, Brixton and Sairie.

Daholster, when I went to the doc yesterday i said I was worried about having a new born and being injured, so might be worth mentioning that to get some advice/medicines as appropriate!

Just been into town to get a few bits and after walking around for an hour i'm absolutely done in. Can't believe how tired I got from that short walk!

RL20 · 08/04/2015 10:34

Morning everyone. Been sleeping lots recently! Shock Hard for me to keep up with the late night and early morning posts now! Perhaps I'm making up for the nights when I didn't get much sleep, or awake at around 5am for a couple of hours.

Haven't got much of a plan today, no midwife appointment until next week when I'll be 39+2, as I had the growth scan and appointments a few weeks in a row so it sort of changed all the normal appointment dates around. Having a few very mild period type aches this morning but they usually just amount to wind! Grin.

Good luck to all those who have got midwife appointments today.
Let me know what you have all asked them, as I have no idea what to ask on my next one! Which will presumably be the last one I have unless I go over my due date, which I think I will!
I think I want to ask how long they let you go over before they induce now. I really don't want to be waiting a long time over my due date as I've been in for reduced movements 3 times. Thankfully everything has been fine since the last time but I would rather have him here when he's fully grown rather than just wait for it happen. Just that make sense?

Hope you're ok Brummagem. No idea what the pain could be as I've not even had any BH's myself, but me being the natural worrier I am would probably just ring the midwives just to be sure. But someone may come along and explain what it could be!

Good luck today lila35. It can't be too long now before something happens!

Good luck Roastpots! Why not take a walk close to home if the park is a little far away, I'd probably just be walking around the block Grin.

Ooh skyra, time to ring the midwife then do you think?

Hiding you're not the only one, no major signs here either, but I am a little behind you at 38+2.

Hope everyone else is ok, I can't catch up properly! Grin

38+2

Siarie · 08/04/2015 10:40

Morning everyone, I'm on the CTG, done bloods, wee sample, usual BP once in off the CTG they will pop the gel in to soften and dilate my cervic then it's a six hour wait to see what happens.

Siarie · 08/04/2015 10:40

Cervix* doh

daholster · 08/04/2015 10:55

Wow so much to catch up on already and I only went to the play gym!

Dr telephone appt said no antibiotics unless I spike a temperature, fair enough it's probably viral. She said it will all go away when he is born and everything settles down, which I know is likely true. It's just not pleasant!

So will take paracetamol and squirt saltwater up my nose Confused

39+1

Siarie · 08/04/2015 11:14

Hope you feel better soon daholster.

The midwives keep coming in looking at my ctg then saying "you're contracting a lot, can you feel those?". Yes, yes I can and yes I've been contracting every 5-10 mins for weeks now haha.

Knew it was weird, just waiting for the doctor to come with the gel apparently it's prescribed so they have to authorise it.

kismac · 08/04/2015 11:30

Just had a really good appointment. They are happy to let me get to my due date and will do a sweep in 2 weeks time then discuss possible induction date which is normally 12 days past date. So happy as there was talk of them inducing me early but they said if I'm feeling well and baby is well then I can be left. I might even get my water birth too! Yay! Now on a mission to get this baby moving. I've already had pineapple and spicy hot wings.

Hope everyone else is ok. I'll read back in a bit but just so excited that things are starting to look up.

FiRaffe · 08/04/2015 11:31

At least you know where you stand daholster. Hope you feel better soon.

Hope things get going properly soon Sairie - did you mention that you've been contracting that long?

Hope the sleep was good RL!

RL20 · 08/04/2015 11:43

Glad you're feeling excited Kismac! Grin.

FiRaffe yes it was, thank you! Feeling very lazy though as other than getting up to get breakfast, I haven't really moved yet!
RE your earlier post, I too get tired from just short walks. I only went to ASDA to do the food shop yesterday (and also had help from my mum) and I felt shattered!

Have just seen the Sudocrem advert where it says something along the lines of 'we know your baby will need their nappy changing up to 10 times a day'. I remember seeing that advert at the very beginning, or pre-pregnancy and thinking what?!?!Shock. How naive I was! Grin. I'm sure it was that advert in mind that got me stocking up on nappies!

IvegotaCaveTroll · 08/04/2015 11:51

Good luck everyone in hospital and everyone waiting to go in.

My bad news yesterday was that's my obs has decided my induction is fine at 40 weeks instead of 39- since iv 'done so well on reduced painkillers'

Trying to not be pissed of about it- what's another week in the scheme. At least Im not going to go 10 days over and at least the later it is the easier it should be.

IvegotaCaveTroll · 08/04/2015 11:54

Does anyone expect to go into May for baby's arrival?
