Morning everyone!! brixton how are things now? That does sound a bit like wayers but you'll know if it keeps coming.

Well today is definitely a day that I didn't make plans for because I thought the baby would be here by now. But it's beautifully sunny so I'm seeing it as a bit of a bonus relaxation opportunity.

Thinking of you this morning cinnamon

firaffe hurray for mat leave - enjoy it!!!

Lauren82000 · 07/04/2015 09:20

It's pretty foggy and cold up here Roast so make the most of the sun while you have it.

Just had a bad toilet experience. A sign or something I ate? I hate all this uncertainty it's driving me crackers so I've cracked open an Easter egg and I'm half way through it already. Blush

kismac · 07/04/2015 09:30

Good luck today Cinnamon. Hope it all goes well.

Oh, Brixton. Sounds like things might be happening.

Good luck to everyone else who has appointments today.

So so so tired. Last few days I've just been exhausted. Feeling really fed up. Went for a short walk yesterday and just felt so crappy. Hurry up baby.

38+2

BrixtonBunny · 07/04/2015 09:45

Thanks ladies! I just got up again and had another little "gush", liquid is clear and doesn't smell so I'm guessing this is indeed waters. Will keep monitoring it and will keep you informed!

Will ring the midwife later this afternoon, want to make sure that I'm ready first if that makes sense? Need to pop to corner shop to stock up on tea and coffee and milk for the midwives, might change the bedsheets and give the kitchen a quick clean (basically just need to empty and load dishwasher). And I might buy some fresh flowers. As I'm planning a home birth I want the space to be as lovely as possible!

All seems very surreal that this might be actually happening soon... Just really hoping that things do kick off as I know that a day or two after your waters break they get quite anxious if you haven't gone into labour yet.

Lauren Easter egg sounds like a top breakfast. I've eaten a hot cross bun and then a piece of cheese on toast, followed by some yoghurt. Figured I should eat whilst I can...

Eek Brixton all very exciting! Hope things get going soon for you.

Good luck today cinnamon, hope all goes well. Will be thinking of you and your little boy.

Aside from losing little bits of what I am assuming is my plug, nothing is happening here. Just lining myself up lots of little jobs to get on with to keep me busy.

38+1

Lauren82000 · 07/04/2015 10:03

Very exciting Brixton I'm really jealous. I wish I was leaking Wink

RL20 · 07/04/2015 10:15

Wow Brixton I fall back to sleep for a few hours after replying to you saying that I've also had no signs, and wake up to the news that your waters have potentially gone/going! Shock Good luck! Grin.

So now I definitely must be the only one with no BH's/plug? Only thing I've had is dampness but I've had that for months so I think it's just a little bit of wee each day. Haven't bothered to ever try a pad as it's pretty much the same amount each day.

Yes RE the notes, I wonder if he got mixed up with the little red book thing as I did think that was something you had after baby is here!
I always used to have a big ish handbag but then got rid of it a good few months ago as it just got filled with crap! So now I have a smaller one and there's no way an A4 booklet would be fitting in it, even folded up. So no idea whether I should be taking it with me everywhere now and just leaving it in my car or something.

Sorry you're feeling fed up kismac.

BrixtonBunny · 07/04/2015 10:18

RL I've lost no plug, as far as I know, and I've had very few Braxton hicks. So you never know!

Lauren82000 · 07/04/2015 10:20

Mine lives in the car RL. If anything happens at home I can nip out and grab it otherwise I'm out and about in the car so have it with me or at least reasonably close.

There is an odd thumping sound outside its beginning to get annoying. What is it?

berberana · 07/04/2015 10:26

Good luck cinnamon, hope all goes well!

Watching with interest Brixton as I am also planning home birth! Waters events with a gush when I had DS1 and there was no sign of plug at any point so you can obviously have one without the other! Really hope things move swiftly and smoothly for you!

I'm 39+3 and getting impatient - had regular but mild and well-spaced contractions all yesterday and inflated pool in hope but there's nothing happening today... I'm finding the uncertainty really frustrating as I'm sure we all must be! I was hoping I was one of those people who hardly know they're in labour til the midwife tells them they're 9cm...Smile

RL, I've had no plug either, although I'm definitely getting more BHs.

Am settled on a bench in the sun between appointments - blood pressure is back down so no worries there, thankfully.

Good luck, Brixton and cinnamon!!

daholster · 07/04/2015 10:33

chicken you made me laugh saying amniotic fluid smelled like semen/blossom!!! ConfusedGrin to me they do not smell at all the same!

How exciting brixton!!! Bag change was actually not too bad, I think the stretched skin is just getting sore, I treated myself and tummy skin to an al fresco shower (ie no bag on!) to give it a bit of a break. It spends its life under plasters so with all the stretching its trying to do too its no surprise its getting sore. I did discover however that I nearly bunged myself up with too many careless carrots and mushrooms last night... Good Gizmo is dealing with it though, few! Don't want an obstruction at this point!

Day well underway thanks, car signed for, dd at nursery, antibiotics for dd collected, McDonalds drive through breakfast Blush and when I've finished my smoothie I'll get the broken car to the garage. Hopefully I can then get home and potter for the rest of the day...

daholster · 07/04/2015 10:35

wine happy maternity leave at last!!!!

RL20 · 07/04/2015 10:37

Let us know what happens with the midwives Brixton!

Squatting I thought I had a few BH's but I'm almost certain it was baby sticking his bum out as there was other movements too rather than my whole belly going stiff. Also when I get light period cramps it always turns out to be wind!

Anyone else keep wondering what baby is going to look like?!
That's one thing that's keeping me going!
Me and other half couldn't look more different eg eye colour, hair colour, height, face shape, everything really! I keep wondering whether he'll be a mixture of whether he'll completely look like just one of us.

RL20 · 07/04/2015 10:38

Jealous of your mcdonalds breakfast Daholster, I have a monopoly ticket for hash brown which are my favourites, but can never be bothered to be out before 10.30!

PenguinPoser · 07/04/2015 10:41

Glad your bp is ok Annia!

Wine - happy maternity leave Grin

Ooh Brixton how exciting hope this is the start of something for you! Let us know what midwife says.

Daholster you have achieved today so far more than I hope to all week!!

Bad night with dd she wouldn't settle at all unless next to me in bed and then I couldn't sleep! Tired today. Need snoozes!

roastpots · 07/04/2015 10:50

Happy maternity leave wine as well!

Brixton - I agree it might be worth phoning the midwives just to let them know. We are told around here to always phone as soon as waters go just so that you are on their radar and they know to expect to need to attend to you in the next 24 hours or so. Good luck - and I hope you have a relaxing time pottering around and making the house feel lovely before things get going. x x

Lauren82000 · 07/04/2015 10:58

Squatting I know what you mean about second time round but I didn't go into spontaneous labour last time so it's still new to me how it will all kick off.

Might have to walk to asda in a bit, I need some more pantyliners. My emergency ones are pants and about as absorbent as a single sheet of loo roll! Grin They are certainly not made for late pregnancy general fluids Blush

daholster · 07/04/2015 10:59

brixton I agree, best to tell them now, they won't be rushing over I'm sure. You are v kind thinking that you aren't ready because the midwives need tea and biscuits! Smile

ChickenMe · 07/04/2015 11:29

Hehe daholster there is a blossom tree that we at work used to call the semen tree I don't know what its called, it's a foul smelling blossom. Not a pretty traditional one like apple/cherry. I was too deranged this am to explain! Another way I would describe the smell is like the sap when you strip a young twig.

brummagem · 07/04/2015 11:32

Eeek Brixton that all sounds exciting! You're so good getting all of that stuff done! I've done some housework today and was impressed by period pain aching back and got all excited but it's all calmed down since managed a poo that probably weighs the same as my bump. Grin Probs TMI there!

Stopped short of vacuuming. My carpet looks like a 4th animal at the moment Blush. Cats and dog have gone into moulting overdrive! Good job I'm planning a hospital birth not a home one! DH can sort that out!

Good luck Cinnamon!

Great news aboutyour BP Annia.

Hope we all get to enjoy some sun while it lasts!

FiRaffe · 07/04/2015 11:42

Ooh good luck Brixton, hope all is going well and as the ladies said, definitely worth getting on their radar.

Shower and day sounds good daholster. Mmm hash browns! My favourite too RL!

Good news on the blood pressure Annia, hope the sun keeps shining. It's beautiful here, but no plans to go out as amazon are supposed to be bringing the cot. ......

Lauren, a walk sounds good. Had that problem with the always liners, gave up and went well overboard with the normal pads instead!

cinnamongreyhound · 07/04/2015 11:44

Update for you all, got to hospital 9.45, after being admitted they disappeared for a while and finally put me in monitor at 10.45. Half way through being monitored I have started contracting!!! About every two mins at moment so she don't give me gel. She can get two fingers in cervix but it's still very postior although soft and thinning so she wants to wait and see if these contractions do anything and then take me to delivery suite to break waters. Baby is happily bobbling along at 140bpm.
