Good luck tomorrow cinnamon! Will keep fingers crossed for you.

Sorry to hear you're still waiting roastpots, hope something starts happening for you soon

PenguinPoser · 06/04/2015 21:44

Hope things go well tomorrow Cinnamon. In my experience hospitals don't normally have wifi but you never know Smile hope you're not in too long anyway.

Really feel for all of you who are overdue and/or uncomfortable - I really couldn't imagine still being pregnant now as I was so uncomfortable at 37 weeks don't know how I would have coped. Probably wouldn't have had any more sleep than in my 3 weeks with a newborn! Speaking of which I haven't had a nap today so probably in for a long night...

had our first trip to town today with dd, not great as although I had fed her before we left I don't think she was full so didn't settle. We managed 2 shops and achieved what we went for anyway. Including getting her some lovely clothes from next with the vouchers I got from work. She's got so many clothes as gifts but most are 0-3 month and she's only been in tiny baby sleepsuits up to now! So got her some first size/newborn little spring dresses which I hope will fit in the next few weeks. New favourite pass time = shopping for baby clothes! Grin

Good luck tomorrow cinnamon I hope it all goes well, will be thinking of you!

Dh has hurt his back, which is awkward. He's being v brave and I have sent him for a bath. I think it is going into spasm, that's why its getting more and more sore, poor thing.

Just got to get the last baby wash out. The sad thing is we have nowhere to put his clothes at the moment! Have gone back on the plan to get him IKEA furniture so looking into a bed for dd again with new furniture. Dh can't go and buy the new chest of drawers and dresser we were going to get from IKEA tomorrow because they won't fit in our polo and the Audi is not really useful without a handbrake and will need to go to the garage... So he still won't have any storage anywhere Hmm

Yes my family have been amazing today. Finished off with a roast dinner that I did nothing but chop carrots for and MIL and dh did the rest. Kitchen wall is painted, cloakroom is totally painted woodwork, door and all, pictures are up in hall and on landing, radiator is on, dd's room has been cleaned top to bottom, porch has been cleared and swept, baby's wobbly floor has been fixed and his door painted too (though needs one more coat). Only the skirting board in the kitchen didn't get done today, and the blinds back up in the cloakroom and baby's room but tbh that is pretty minor and I never expected the floor to be fixed today too so that's a bonus! Feeling very happy about it. Shame the kitchen looks like a bomb site after dinner and I didn't manage to totally clear the kitchen/dining room of mess. And there is one of those "this stuff is for upstairs and will need all putting away in different places" boxes you create when you tidy up! Hmm

Have an early start tomorrow, dd at nursery then going to do the paperwork for the Audi and must ring the garage. Then I will rest and potter about the house until pick up time. Oh just remembered that I will need to swap the car seat into mum's car (Audi A1, its a squeeze and not easy when not pregnant let alone at 39 weeks!!!)

I have been v uncomfy today. If I keep active I am now predicting Weds/Thurs if things carry on as they have. Still no huge chunks of plug but still the same odds and ends as for the last few days.

Best go outside and get the blanket that dd and granny were playing in as a den. And put the baby clothes in the dryer. Think I'll try to create him some space in our bedroom.

Oh and I found my toads!!!! Grin they were in the bottom of my wardrobe so now my bag really and truly is ready! I'm just a bit frightened!

Woah epic post... All about me!!! Blush

daholster · 06/04/2015 21:55

And penguin yes to baby shopping! You get poor quickly though... But they look so cute in everything!

PenguinPoser · 06/04/2015 22:02

It doesn't count if I'm spending vouchers though right Wink
Hehe at your toads - glad they've turned up! Vital baby equipment!

Underwood2013 · 06/04/2015 22:09

Good luck tomorrow cinnamon - hope all goes well!! Perhaps a jog around the hospital perimeter will speed things up?? Wink

skyra13 · 06/04/2015 23:59

Cinnamon my hospital had free WiFi at both hospitals I use they use the same one so I'm assuming most hospitals do good luck! X

brummagem · 07/04/2015 02:23

Toads Grin

My hospital does free wifi. It's password protected but you just enter details and they send you a daily code to enter.

Been woken up to a massive amount of acid indigestion. Beautiful. Drank some milk & popped some gaviscon to celebrate being 37 weeks today. Thugz life.

I've started forgetting I'm pregnant and then feel really cross when I realise I am and that a baby will be here to change everything. I already love him dearly but feel so resentful at all the change to come which makes me feel awful afterwards Sad

37+0 (the thought of another 5 weeks of acid indigestion makes me want to cry. He's already dropped loads surely that should make it better not worse!)

daholster · 07/04/2015 03:27

Oh dear brum. I'm awake with dh who is in pain from his back Sad and my bunged up nose/scratchy throat.

Can't believe dh has hurt himself so badly just when I needed him to do everything!!! Argh! V selfish of me I know but its easy to selfish at 39 weeks pregnant Blush Poor bloke is in a lot of pain Sad

RL20 · 07/04/2015 06:29

Morning everyone. I miss nearly a full day and there's lots to catch up on! Grin.
Had a nice day at Bicester yesterday, weather was lovely. Although I didn't spend a penny myself (which I'm quite glad about) as it turned out my favourite shop had closed in January!
We bought some baby clothes which were hard to resist! So I can relate with you there, Penguin Grin. They grow out of them so quickly but I think Daddy just wanted to choose him some clothes himself, so that's the last of the clothes bought for now!
So the only thing I treated myself to was some chocolate from Pret! I consider it a treat as I haven't got a Pret that's really local to me. So I had a chocolate mousse thing while I was there, and brought home two flapjack type bars and a slice of chocolate cake Blush.
Also, whilst walking around, 2 on-site paramedics struck up a conversation with us, and he asked how long I'd got left, when I told him I'd got 2 weeks he betted that I didn't have my 'little red book' with me. Which I'm assuming he meant my notes, so I said that I did but that they were in the car, to which he told me off as I didn't actually have them on me! Perhaps if they actually were 'a little red book' I would take them everywhere with me, but they are and A4 sized booklet that won't fit in my handbag! Notes must be different for different areas, I'm guessing.

Good luck today, Cinnamon!

Brixton I can relate! I'm 38 weeks now and still feel 'relatively normal' (sort of), so yes I'm also going to be in for a shock!
I also have had no plug, no major twinges, no BH's or anything so it's hard to believe I'm nearing the end of pregnancy. The midwife told me last week that he is now 2/5ths engaged but other than the bump dropping slightly I haven't really noticed! Although if/when he drops any further before actual birth, I probably will! But she told me you can go into labour with him being like that so he may not even actually drop any more beforehand.

LivvyLondon sorry to hear you're having those thoughts. There's not much I can say but think positive vibes! RE reflexology, at a guess, I'm thinking it could work in the way that they say it gives off that certain hormone (I can't remember the name of it!) as when you're relaxed, or have DTD. I'm thinking about booking a pedicure which includes a leg massage, hoping it might give off some sort of relaxing labour hormones, as I'm sure I won't be getting any sort of massage from the other half! Lol.

Roastpots sorry you're DH is going back to work. My other half will have to take any time off unpaid as he's currently working for an agency, so it's sort of as and when it happens. My mum is on standby and with other half being a lorry driver, it's just hoping he gets back in time, which should be reasonably ok unless I happen to have a very quick labour and birth!

Daholster we haven't got any proper baby clothes storage either, other than the changing table which does have drawers but it's still not in the place it needs to be, so I haven't put any clothes away in it yet. When I had a clear out of my clothes in January/February I ended up with 2 spare drawers so baby clothes have gone in there for now! And then still have a bag full.

Well I'm going to try and get back to sleep now, hopefully. Although I can see that it's light outside which will make it difficult to switch off Confused.

RL20 · 07/04/2015 06:31

Oh and...
38+1 Grin

daholster · 07/04/2015 07:19

Morning! Well, dh's spasm seems to have settled thank goodness so now he's back to "sore back" and insisting on going to work which is a 90min drive each way Hmm I've told him I think it will come back and he will get stranded unable to drive but he won't listen.

Last night got some itchy skin under my stoma near the skin dressing that holds my bag on. Scratched and it felt funny and really burned. Looked in the mirror and realised I've ripped a pike if new stretch marks that head up under my bag. Oh well. At least I'm symmetrical now, but I think this bag change will hurt...

Best go get a shower and get on with it, dd needs to be at nursery around 08.10, I'm not up, the car seat isn't in the car and she's still fast asleep!!!

No BHs or anything yet... Maybe it's all stopped... We'll see!

Good luck cinnamon! And skyra hope your tooth is better.

Sending positive vibes to holly too, hope something us happening! And siarie that you get some answers today.

39w! Shock

smogsville · 07/04/2015 07:55

Morning everyone

Brumma I know what you mean. Am sitting here having tea in bed while DD is downstairs eating her porridge made by DH who's now having a shower before he goes to work. Got to hang onto these glorious golden moments as it will all change once the new baby lands.

smogsville · 07/04/2015 07:57

Oh and daholster you're not being selfish, when I read about your DH's back spasm last night I told my DH I would be livid with him if he in any way incapacitated himself now, including through no fault of his own.

BrixtonBunny · 07/04/2015 08:06

Smogs and Daholster, I know it's uncharitable but I have the same thoughts re: my DP. He wanted to attempt some trickery on a ladder the other day and I told him in no uncertain terms that should he injure himself before the birth I would not be pleased and therefore he was not to even try!

Question - erm, how do I know if my waters have started leaking?! When I got out of bed morning I had a small "gush" down my legs, not loads but way, way more than any discharge I've ever had and much thinner, and I really don't think it was wee as I've not had any pelvic floor issues so far during pregnancy. Didn't smell of wee either. I've gone back to bed and popped in a sanitary towel so I guess just keep an eye on it!?

Brixton, most of the garden was properly sorted out last year, plus we cheated this year and got somebody in to do the first mow of the season... which made DH's life yesterday a lot easier, not least because he is no longer knocking himself out on low-hanging tree branches ;) But it was lovely to sit in the early afternoon sunshine and enjoy it! All we need now is some proper sodding garden furniture...

daholster, hurrah for the toads!

...and later to Brixton, yes, keep an eye on it and on a sanitary towel! I think the key is the smell - if it smells sort of sweet, then it might be amniotic fluid rather than just a lot of cervical fluid. If it is waters, it'll keep coming as they keep regenerating.

Busy day for us today... am off to have my blood pressure checked, then a dentist's appointment, then various errands (including getting the birth plan laminated!), and then my mum's birthday dinner this evening. I am going to waddle slowly and hope the spring sunlight holds!

FiRaffe · 07/04/2015 08:20

Morning ladies- first day of proper mat leave and still sitting in bed, oh the luxury!

Glad your day was successful daholster and sorry to hear about your DH's back. Hope it feels better soon! Definitely before little one arrives. Hope your bag change wasn't/isn't too bad as well and you're well on your way with the day.

Smogs - sounds lovely, as you say enjoy before baby arrives!

Glad you had a good day RL and the paramedics comment was odd. I understand why our notes are so big bit you'd have thought in these times of computers they could improve the system. It's all the scrappy bits of paper from the scans that annoy me the most!

Hope you're feeling better this morning brum, and can at least have a restful day if not.

Furniture delivery today, then I can basically finish the nursery. Only thing I forgot in all the deliveries was a lamp shade for baby's room! Will have to go to the high street and find something!

FiRaffe · 07/04/2015 08:23

Sorry cross posted Annia and Brixton.

Yep the pad is the best test i've heard for waters and whether they 'gush' when you get up after half an hour lying down. Hope all is okay!

Annia, sounds a busy day but hope it's a good one!

cinnamongreyhound · 07/04/2015 08:31

I can't help on waters BrixtonBunny mine went in a huge gush during labour with ds1 and were broken in labour with ds2. You're sensibly keeping an eye so I'm sure you'll know soon enough.

Glad dh is feeling better daholster.

The little red book is what you get for your baby RL20, I agree notes are ridiculously large! Glad you had a good day.

Ok they have space so we're off!

BrixtonBunny · 07/04/2015 08:33

Good luck cinnamon!!!! Big hugs for today.

OP posts:
ChickenMe · 07/04/2015 08:51

Good luck cinnamon
Brixton that does sound a bit waters-y. Mine did go Hollywood style and I thought it smelled of semen (sorry) or a little bit floral, like blossom. Keep an eye.

skyra13 · 07/04/2015 08:52

Good luck today cinnamon!
I have a clinic appoinment today will see what they have planned! Hope they don't say book in for a sweep with your midwife as she never has time to do anything!! Hope my bp is still stable my feet are starting to look like the elephant man!
I hate carrying my notes RL if I forget them though ill probably go into labour lol
Brixton re waters at my classes they said if you think your hind waters maybe leaking or you waters have gone put a pad on and lie down when you stand back up ita wet then ita going to be waters. If it is you must get checked straight away as chance of infection. One women had her waters go and did not go to hospital as she was not having contractions, when she did give labour baby was covered in an mucus infection and came out in sack, my midwife said it was horrible. So always worth checking about waters :)
Tooth pain is wearing off but still there :( it is frustrating DH has been ill for weeks with sinuses and colds now due to coughing seems he may of broken a rib so back to doctors for him today!
Hope you all have a good day x

Lauren82000 · 07/04/2015 08:53

Good luck cinnamon, wishing you an easy and speedy induction. Wink

I had a terrible night last night, no baby pains but terrible back ache and groin pain. Stupid walk just left me stiff and uncomfortable. Think baby is back to back too as I'm getting poked from every angle Hmm. Least I can go moan at the mw tomorrow and perhaps go through my birth plan, not that there's anything specific on it.

Wineandchoccy · 07/04/2015 09:14

Good luck Cinnamon I hope you are meeting your little boy very soon.

1st day of Mat leave today and washer is on for the 2nd time and I'm about to tackle the kitchen cupboards.

We went to Blackpool yesterday and walked along the prom but had to get a tram back to the car park because my bump was hurting but the sea air must have worked because I slept really well last night.

I agree the notes could be made much more patient friendly, if I am out in the car they just stay in the boot otherwise they are in the house on top of my hospital bag.

39 weeks today!
