Sorry sunday 29th duh

FiRaffe · 05/04/2015 19:23

Oh obelia, I hope all is okay when you're checked and definitely complain when you are settled.

Lauren82000 · 05/04/2015 19:23

Oh dear sounds horrifying Obelia make sure you stick in a formal complaint if your not happy with your care.

I'm rather chuffed it appears baby has twisted round and I'm getting nice pokes on the right. Smile So looks like this one has gone LOA. Going on a massive walk tomorrow along the canal. Step FIL reckons it's about 3 miles, hoping I can do it all as I'll be stuck if I can't and will have to get some sort of rescue team to get me. Least Ill get fed at the end of it. We're going in 2cars and leaving one at the pub so won't have to do the 6miles.

We did the same walk when I was newly pregnant so I know I can walk it just wether I can waddle it. They laughed and said they'd give me a leg and a wing as I can't have a piggyback. Grin

Underwood2013 · 05/04/2015 19:26

Wow obelia that is quite a birth story. I hope you are ok and the chest / back pains are nothing serious...

holly I can empathise with you - similar thing happened to me with ds, induction took ages and wasn't progressing... I hope they find space for you and things get moving, hang in there.

rl I can't say anything that hasn't already been said but I hope you are able to discuss this with your oh and he actually listens / comprehends how his actions are affecting you, quite unfairly. As for the van, that would have freaked me out too - hope you've seen the last of it.

Hope people are having a lovely Easter. Dh got up with Ds and gave me a wonderful lie-in. We've been doing some more sorting / organising in the house and tomorrow we (dh) plan to organise the garage and get the guest room ready for the in-laws who arrive midweek. Bizarre to think baby will be here in less than a week..!!

skyra13 · 05/04/2015 20:20

I do not see my little one coming at all! I sometimes forget I'm pregnant due date tomo and I have not had contractions or Braxton hicks nothing! :( part from loosing my plug after sweeps last week that's all that has happened feeling sad :( x

RL20 · 05/04/2015 21:04

Thankyou everyone I really do appreciate all the comments you have all written.
He had been at work all day so I just cleaned, napped, cleaned etc etc.
I think I needed the day to myself with my own thoughts (scary!).
No major decisions made though, very hard to do at nearly 38 weeks pregnant. My main focus has got to be getting baby here safely and then we'll see what happens from then on. But last night was definitely only as bearable as it was because of me being able to post on here so thank you, really!

Thought something was happening earlier as a lot of wriggling around and jabs, and had lower back ache/pain. It eased off after about half an hour though. Nothing else to report, no plug etc! I'd say I do 99% feel ready for him to come now though, as scared as I am for the birth, I just want it over with now so he can be here! Not due until the 20th though so we'll see.

Skyra you'll have your baby here in the next 2 weeks no matter what! Not long now, I know what you mean though, I keep forgetting how far along I actually am.

Wow Obeliaboo - congratulations - hope you and baby are doing well. Good luck for the hospital tonight.

I'm going to lie down in bed I think, so emotionally and physically drained from having no sleep through the night. Can't quite keep my eyes open and want to get to sleep before my headache comes on again!
Thanks again everyone BrewThanks

FiRaffe · 05/04/2015 21:29

Glad you've had an ok day RL. Have a good rest.

Have fun with the walk Lauren - doesn't sound fun, but might get things moving!!!

Bump is being odd tonight, achey and not very wriggly. I know they say your movements shouldn't reduce but they obviously change. Can anyone advise how much they do change? Sorry, just worrying again!

daholster · 05/04/2015 21:46

RL you are very brave. I am not good at keeping a level head but I agree you need time to think, see how it goes, see how he behaves about it and think about it all carefully. Rest now. Changing your world right now is probably not the best idea so try not to stress about that, time will tell. I hope you are asleep xxx

Our Audi (usually the reliable one) broke while we were in Kent, handbrake failed!!! Omg! Got it home using the footbrake. But seriously, what is it with our cars?! Haemorrhaging money to the garages!!! So that needs sorting on Tuesday now. I will borrow mum's car for the week since she and dad are off to Scotland for a wedding so at least she won't need it. Grr!

Still, we had a lovely day, home now. Weird to think that next time I go to mum and dad's house we will have had another baby!!!

38+5

daholster · 05/04/2015 21:47

Oh and obelia congratulations! That sounds very traumatic but I'm glad your prize is worth it. Hope you feel better soon Flowers

Lauren82000 · 05/04/2015 22:06

That's what I'm hoping Fi since I've had no more plug or anything you could remotely consider an impending sign. Hmm

Has anyone else felt like this weekend has just dragged on and on? It feels like it should be Tuesday by now.

cinnamongreyhound · 05/04/2015 22:16

Congratulations obeliaboo! Glad you have your baby safely and hope you can feel happier about your labour given time and some rest. I had inverted nipples when I had ds1 and he managed to suck them out, so not a reason to give up totally on bf but if you're both happy on ff then fair enough.

Good news on position Lauren82000.

Glad you've taken the time you needed to rest and think RL20! Age is certainly not a reason not to cope, dh says I have always been 45 mentally, but I just wondered if that was making him freak a bit. I can see that you have made allowances for his past and you've obviously taken on a lot with him having a dd from previous relationship but please think of yourself too. Glad having someone here to get it all out has helped and I hope between the two of you you can sort everything out. Take your time and hope you have a lovely nights sleep.

Glad you had a good day and sorry to hear about your car daholster, I feel your pain re paying for car repairs!

Movements do change FiRaffe but not overnight. Mine are now pushing and sliding rather than kicks and are often uncomfortable as there isn't much room! Have been that way for. While now though.

Awww skyra13, don't feel sad! There's no way of knowing when the baby will make an appearance, some people twinge on and off for ages and others will just go. Unless you argue against induction you will be having your baby in the next two weeks which isn't an eternity at all. I do genuinely believe there's not a lot you can do to get things going and babies come when they're ready. Both my previous ones where I duced at 13 days over and I was dtd right up to the day, walking lots, spent time on my ball bouncing, ate pineapple and curry, although never tried raspberry leaf tea and was way to scared to try caster oil!!!! It's just one of those things. I have even run up to the day before my due date this time and he's still not coming! Who knows maybe we'll both have a shock and have due date babies tomorrow. Hope you have a restful night Flowers

londonlivvy · 06/04/2015 04:34

congrats obelia. It sounds less than ideal as a birth but I'm glad your LO is here safely.

I'm awake again, being driven mad by an itchy foot. sairie will sympathise I hope. No idea what's causing it but it's been a few days now so going to have to see a pharmacy tomorrow. ouch ouch ouch. I originally thought it was athlete's foot, which I've had loads on that foot this pregnancy (and you can't take much for, it seems). But it's now much redder and sorer over a wider area. argh. Any tips? I've tried metanium (random, I know, but I have it at home and it seems to work on any other skin trouble that DD has) and tea tree oil. Desperate to get back to sleep. I could try and find a 24 HR pharmacy now but seems a bit dramatic for an sore foot. The itching is something else tho.

PenguinPoser · 06/04/2015 06:27

If it looks like athletes foot have you tried some anti fungal cream londonlivvy? Like miconazole or something? Good idea to let a pharmacist look though to make sure that's what it is.

Congratulations obelia but sorry to hear you had a bad experience. You could ask for a debrief meeting at the hospital to answer and questions and explain things if it would help?

londonlivvy · 06/04/2015 07:20

thanks penguin actually after some frantic middle of the night Google action I tried the thrush cream I had in the cupboard and it did help a bit. hurrah. but still awake 4-530. brill.

must find a chemist today.

Siarie · 06/04/2015 07:29

37 weeks today penguin and I can't stand another itch. But it's not just that, the threat of stillbirth looms over you like a dark shadow.

daholster · 06/04/2015 08:06

siarie it is scary but the risks are very tiny, concentrate on your little girl and count the movements and rest as much as you can. My medical conditions increase risks to the baby too but in my first pregnancy I learned to try to concentrate on everything I could do to make sure I was keeping my baby safe. I went in to check movements lots of times and no-one complained. Try not to dwell on the worst case scenario because it makes everything seem even worse. The oc sounds utterly horrible. Itching is one of the worst things ever and I have met people utterly miserable because of it. What with that and your discomfort from contractions you must be thoroughly miserable. Try to keep your chin up and keep pestering for what you need. Sometimes its the only way. Never sit about feeling like you are bring left - if so pester. Being proactive will make you feel better. I'm sorry you haven't had an easy first pregnancy Flowers

On lesser but more whingey notes my throat is sore with my bunged up nose. Disgusting stuff at the back makes it sore especially overnight. Dd probably has something to do with it...

I also can't turn over in bed without a painfully contracting bump. Lying on my left is making me sore and I am getting heartburn at bed too! I am tired today. I think we need a week to finish the house then I want at least a day to myself to chill before I ho into labour please...

Sending lots of labour vibes cinnon and skyra!!!

London glad your foot feels better. Athletes foot is very unpleasant.

FiRaffe · 06/04/2015 08:41

I echo the labour vibes cinnamon and skyra! And hope you feel better London and daholster.

My back is killing this morning and baby's movements are still small compared to what i've felt before. They have until breakfast to cheer up otherwise I think i'll give the hospital a call for advice, why does the little one like being awkward at weekends and bank holidays!

Hope you all have a lovely Easter Monday.

PenguinPoser · 06/04/2015 08:48

Siarie again I know... If I let myself think about it when I was still pregnant I would sit and cry and not know whether I wanted baby out with risks of being early or left in with risks of OC. But as Daholster says the risks honestly are low. If the OC is diagnosed, treated and baby delivered early then the risks are thought to be just the same as if you didn't have OC. Stillbirth is seen more in people who aren't diagnosed until after the event. Anyway it's an awful thing to talk about but I understand your worries. Get your bloods repeated tomorrow and see what the doctors say, hopefully you will have your little girl in your arms in the next few days as I'd be surprised if they don't induce you.

Sorry everyone else is uncomfortable too. Hope th movements pick up Fi

Lauren82000 · 06/04/2015 09:07

Another night of those pesky contractions I had last week. I just didn't know what to do with myself for an hour and half. Didn't help that DD was in our bed again and I was clinging to the edge. I ended up getting in her bed but she inevitably came and found me. Confused Not sure about this walk today now. Dare I risk it?

Everyone is the same with me SquattinNeville, very annoying! And mine weren't even early!!

Lauren82000 · 06/04/2015 09:43

Yup same over here Squatting and cinnamon. I've not even said anything to anyone about the random contractions or plug loss apart from DH but I still get the questions or not long now. Which infuriates me I know it won't be long but it doesn't stop me being grumpy and uncomfortable or make the time go any faster and when I think that if I go over again I have another 4 weeks left I just want to curl up in a ball and cry. But the curling is impossible with a baby in the way! Grr.

RL20 · 06/04/2015 10:08

Morning all.

Thank you Cinnamon, Daholster and FiRAffe. Yes I did go to sleep, and have only just woken up! Train tracks all over the left side of my face and body so I must have been comfy.

Daholster I did wonder why you hadn't posted much yesterday, cars can be a nightmare! Hope you can get it sorted and it's not too costly!

Lauren I felt like yesterday dragged, knowing nothing was open etc. Made me want to pull my hair out!

Cinnamon yes you're right about the age thing. He may be 5 years older than me but I feel about 10 years older than him!

How are the movements going FiRaffe?

Lauren when is your EDD? I could possibly have 4 weeks left now too, I'm 38 weeks today so trying not to get my hopes up at the possibility of having 2 weeks left, I don't feel like he will come within the next 2 weeks at all!
A friend of mine is currently 3 days over her due date and she does nothing but moan about it on Facebook! I'm not one to write much in Facebook but we'll how much I moan on here if I do go over Grin.

Happy 38 weeks Squatting, and Banana where ever she is!

Well the plan today is to go to that Bicester Village with other half and his younger cousin. He normally hates shopping but as there's more men's things there than women's (in my opinion) he doesn't mind.
Not that I have the money to be going shopping, but if he wants to start redeeming himself by getting me something (or something for baby from Ralph Lauren Kids!) then that's fine by me.
Was actually awake at about 6am worrying about going, but hopefully the walk will do me good. And there's a nice restaurant there to have something to eat and from what I can remember plenty of benches to rest at.
I've got to make the most of this nice day (if it stays like this) as all I did yesterday was clean!

38 weeks today

RL20 · 06/04/2015 10:09

Oh and Siarie sorry you're still suffering with the itching, it sounds horrible Sad.

daholster · 06/04/2015 10:24

I definitely have a cold. And baby bottom is high and pressing and sore again. At least the obstructions and similar issues I was having seem to have settled so I am at least just uncomfy like a normal pregnant person with a cold!!! And therefore I think I am one of the few who is keen for this little boy to stay in for another week at least so we can finish everything and then I can have a little rest!!!

RL hopefully it will help with the mending to go out together Smile

Lauren I'd walk too, it v unlikely you'd get properly stuck on the canal!!! Maybe some friendly canal boat rider would rescue you and you could have a canal baby Grin
