Babies are now coming thick and fast... Let's see how many will come on this thread! Grin

We have toddler wipes in our house. Do the same job as andrex ones but slightly cheaper just have kid friendly packaging which isn't the end of the world. DH wouldn't be without them. Grin You can find them near the nappies and wipes in most supermarkets. Wink

mswibble · 04/04/2015 09:03

I too just confess to not being without a pack of 'botty wipes', as Sainsburys call them, in the bathroom cupboard!

AnniaFausta · 04/04/2015 09:15

Brumma, well done for getting through the Requiem! We have an Easter vigil tonight, but after the rotten night's sleep I've just had, I'm very tempted to skip it in favour of the Easter service tomorrow. I'll see how I'm doing a bit later. I'm on service by service at this point anyway - I'm managing it so far, but I think four services in four days for this bit is allowed to be a bit much.

Lucy, sorry to hear you've another infection, but glad they've caught it, and I hope it clears up soon.

Good luck with clearing up the thrush, Penguin.

Lauren82000 · 04/04/2015 09:23

Erm brownish discharge counts as a show yes? Tiny bits of jelly plug too.

kismac · 04/04/2015 09:40

Aww, Lucy. Sorry you had a bad night. I had a UTI couple of weeks ago. Not fun.

Nunkie, Im a first timer so don't know but my mum has suggested putting a breast pad or the t shirt you've been wearing in the cot to help settle the baby. Also, my friend has the hairdryer on to get her little boy to sleep. Which I think sounds mad but apparently works. Not sure if it'll work. Hope baby starts to settle and you get some rest.

kismac · 04/04/2015 09:41

Ooh Lauren, yeah I'd say that counts as a show. Is it weird that Im jealous?

FiRaffe · 04/04/2015 09:47

Yep sounds like something is starting Lauren, although they say it might not be imminent don't they? Fingers crossed for you!

daholster · 04/04/2015 10:02

Hello! Ooh maybe lauren, might at least show that cervix is starting to thin and change.

lucy poor you. To be fair the infliximab probably doesn't help...

We just bought our BMW X3! Shame it won't be ready until September. Can't decide on metallic deep sea blue or metallic white though... The interior leather is dark tan brown. Both good colour combos! Wondering if dark blue looks a bit more professional for work? Hmm just not sure....

I wondered if I was getting a UTI yesterday, burns to wee... But a bit itchy and swollen round the top too. Very yellow discharge too Blush Put canesten on and it burned... But didn't hurt as much when I weed so guessing I have a bit of thrush or something.

Poor nights sleep due to sore throat and back ache and woke up to ants nest in the kitchen... But for some reason I'm very jolly about it all!

PenguinPoser · 04/04/2015 10:19

Daholster I really wouldn't consider work in picking the colour of your car - I've never come across anyone who cared or noticed! Grin the blue might not show dirt as much though.

Ooo definitely sounds like a show Lauren!

Annia and Brumma I'm impressed you can still sing at this point! But yes sounds sensible to take things day by day.

Awaiting DH returning from chemist with DDs thrush treatment... Bless her it looks worse today so pleased I had her seen yesterday. We had to wait ages as the nurse couldn't do the prescription as its "off licence" in under 4 month old so had to wait for the doctor. But nevermind. I thought having a crying baby might have bumped us up the queue!

FiRaffe · 04/04/2015 10:29

I agree with Penguin daholster, wouldn't worry about looking smart for work but sure the blue would hide the general dirt better!

Lauren82000 · 04/04/2015 10:34

I'm not getting my hopes up. Not even mentioned it to DH.

It's my mums birthday today, we're going out for tea and my sister has come up from Wolverhampton. Try to ignore the coincidences. Not really had any pain or anything though. Maybe a little period type pain earlier but that's all.

LadyNovember · 04/04/2015 11:23

Daholster, I have a white car (granted it's a fiesta and not a BMW haha) but just wanted to say it looks absolutely disgusting from like November to March. However, when the sun comes out and it's clean, it's so summery and bright and beautiful Grin

AnniaFausta · 04/04/2015 11:50

Have been craving a toasted hot cross bun since I got up this morning, and promised myself I could have one once I was dressed and hair was washed. Just enjoyed it. Mmmmmmmmm. Makes seasonal baking worthwhile :)

DH and I are of the opinion that the bump may have dropped a bit. Certainly would explain the frantic wriggling of the last couple of days!

LadyNovember · 04/04/2015 12:20

Haha, I might have to start self motivating with food Annia!

Lauren82000 · 04/04/2015 12:21

You mean you don't already do that Lady? Blush

mswibble · 04/04/2015 12:23

Metallic deep sea blue sounds lovely, that gets my vote daholster

Easter Smile for the show Lauren! will yours be our Easter baby?!

I think I may be losing my plug...Easter Shock. I've had a lot of yellowy discharge in the last few days and a quick google suggests it could be the MP. Though it seems it doesn't really mean anything, which is a good job as we're just back from HSS with the floor sander!

cinnamongreyhound · 04/04/2015 12:34

Sorry to hear you had all that time being monitored Lucyandpoppy but glad they got to the bottom of it reasonably quickly and you're being treated.

I definitely found once I started treating my thrush it quickly got better PenguinPoser, so hope you're sorted very soon!

Sounds like it could be thrush daholster if canestan has made you more comfortable. I feel very hangy down in the lady bits department since yesterday evening, baby doesn't seem lower but something has changed somewhere. No more show for me but hope you're is more eventful Lauren82000!

Got a basket of baby bits from my parkrun community this morning which was so lovely and unexpected! I hope I won't be away for too long but when I'm working, not sure how keen I'll be to get up at 7 to set up parkrun and be there until 11 so may have to rely on others for a bit. Hope to at least pop down with baby and perhaps volunteer in other roles as that's 8.45-10 so a lot less time to commit and leave baby home with dh. IF he's happy in the sling then I may go back sooner and just take him with me but will have to play it by ear. Luckily I have a great team of run directors who can all take their turns on Saturday mornings and the rest of the event director stuff of mostly from a laptop which I can fit around life otherwise.

Lauren82000 · 04/04/2015 12:36

Mswibble maybe you can shake the baby out with sander vibrations? Wink

Lucyandpoppy · 04/04/2015 12:46

Thanks guys I'm glad to have got to the bottom of it as I had a fever for 48 hours before getting diagnosed and although it had crossed my mind it could be a UTI I only had my wee tested on Tuesday so thought it was unlikely turns out these things can come on v. quickly! and I've noticed that in pregnancy when I get UTI's I don't have the typical symptoms that I would have when not pregnant (I'm sure everyone that has cystits knows that burning/constant urge to wee but I never get that when pregnant it's more weeing slightly more frequently/temperature/funny discharge/back and abdo pain).

Re: thrush I have had thrush consistantly since week 16! Despite a boatload of pessaries, tried reducing sugar and yeast in diet, the canastan cream, yoghurt, not using bubble bath...I have found the GUM clinic much more helpful than midwife/GP... but I think my case is quite a rare one anyway because as well as being pregnant also on immunosuppressant meds which make it harder for body to fight off thrush. Counting down the days until my csec when I can finally take the canasten oral pill which historically has been the only thing to work for me.

Lucyandpoppy · 04/04/2015 12:47

Just realised convo is on nipple thrush - d'oh! Never had that but it sounds awful! are you able to take the oral canastan pill when bf'ing?

cinnamongreyhound · 04/04/2015 12:58

I think it was both Lucyandpoppy, daholster mentioned she used canestan and felt more comfortable which I assumed was in a non-nipple fashion. My friend had it constantly in her pregnancy, peas arises only cleared it for a week or so and then was back Sad

daholster · 04/04/2015 13:45

lucy I think you can take the canesten pill when bf-ing but only after the baby is 6 weeks old, or something similar - you would need to check. Anti fungal tablets can go into the milk and it's about their liver being mature enough. This is why we struggled so much with the nipple --> Breast duct thrush that I ended up with because the hospital paediatrician didn't remember that I should be treated too so I struggled for a couple of weeks all infected while re infecting dd all the time, it was horrid. Trouble is nipple thrush is just painful and breast thrush stabs very painfully but doesn't look any different, and the nipples just look a bit red... But then they are being ravaged anyway so it was not obvious to me what was going on!!! Eventually when she was old enough I got miconazole treatments for both of us instead of nystatin (well, after another false start of the gp telling me to put dd's oral miconazole gel on my nipples... This does not work, it doesn't soak in, and the doctor and midwife another week later told me it was pointless (as well as sticky!!!)) With a short course of tablets, cream, gel for her and then continuing all the creams and oral gel another week we FINALLY got on top of it when she was 9 weeks load and suddenly breastfeeding was comfortable and such a joy. Sadly when she was about 14 weeks old I had to go on a new medicine and stop all breastfeeding anyway, and I was so sad and gutted. Hopefully this time all will go to plan!

I meant vaginal/urethral thrush though... No vaginal symptoms except yellow discharge but mainly all around the top where you wee. Odd. But had wee dipped on Thursday so hopefully all is ok.

Dd chucked a book on my bump this morning. Not only was that uncomfy but what was I think worse was that she made the baby jump to the point where he pretty much bounded out of my opposite side, it really hurt! Then she did it again and the poor baby still wasn't ready for it! And dh, next to me on the iPad was none the wiser Hmm

Thinking we might actually buy the baby a new nursery set just from Ikea and leave dd with her current bed and furniture til the baby grows out of his cot in 18-24 months time and needs the cot bed - at that point dd can choose a cabin bed or whatever she wants because she'll be 3 and a half. Anything we choose now has to be a normal type bed really and there aren't many shops with nice low beds we are happy to pay the prices for for a short term appropriately sensibly-heighted bed!!! In a way feel a bit bad for ds having a much cheaper set but his room is smaller than dd's and white furniture would be better, and he can choose whatever he likes in 3-4 hrs time.

Being able to kit out his room for under £400 is tempting anyway and we can save some pennies and spoil him with other stuff perhaps... Trying to justify myself anyway...

PenguinPoser · 04/04/2015 13:45

I'm unsure about taking the canesten tablet when bf at the moment - I think it might be safer once baby is over 6 weeks. So just trying with the cream at the moment. All kinds of thrush are awful and should just do one really!!!

IvegotaCaveTroll · 04/04/2015 14:02

Seconded Penguin!

daholster · 04/04/2015 14:28

Well penguin if it doesn't go properly at least you know from my experience that even if it has to be awful for ages it can heal and get better eventually and it, for me, was so worth it.
