Lina-I too have had recurring thrush during the pregnancy. Currently don't have any symptoms as I last used the pessary last week (advised by the midwife) after using just the cream for weeks. Please get that (but avoid the tablet) from Canestan. Expensive but relief will be instant. I do sympathise xx

Leanne I am currently ready Prima Baby magazine and the AngelCare monitor has won their awards-good choice!!

Well, I know none of you would be able to help me but I need a moan. It looks like when the dried milk leak stuck to my bra and I took my bra off, it ripped a little bit of my nipple skin which is causing the pain still. Have stuck a plaster over it it am thinking I might have to get this bit of nipple off (hanging like a skin tag at the mo) but am too chicken as oh the pain!!!! Will let you know when I pluck up the courage Grin

Scottishgal78 · 03/04/2015 13:38

Ouch! kitty

Titsalinabumsquash · 03/04/2015 14:10

I went for a trace today, couldn't feel baby moving. Typical as soon as the monitor was on she started having a party in there! BlushGrin
The midwife said still to come in anytime at all if I feel the pattern of movements change.

lina try taking a course of probiotics. Its the only thing I've found that gets rid of thrush properly and prevents it recurring

Royalsteph · 03/04/2015 21:31

I hope everyone is having a good easter so far. we have been eating our eggs already (oops) been busy with the dc's doing activities all week, with plenty of walking, so we all sleep well at night. I can't believe how time is flying, I remember when this group first started and now there is a dec 15 group Shock only 37 days till due date, I'm going to pack my hospital bag next week.

applecore0317 · 03/04/2015 21:54

December group Steph can't believe that, remember thinking how far away we were from a thread titled babies starting to arrive and now we are on it, has just gone so fast.

Thanks for all the advice everyone - sorry I kind of disappeared and didn't respond earlier. Tried my luck at pharmacy and sure enough, got a no sorry. Need to see GP. So went to the supermarket And just bought the stuff. Will be speaking with the midwife about it at my next appointment a week on wed.

Scottish - yeah, I've suffered with this even when not pregnant but never so frequent or uncomfortable.

shinyhappyone · 04/04/2015 07:03

Hope it settle down for you Lina- bloody nightmare!
Glad the trace went well tits. Have to admit that whenever I have a slight concern over anything, all staff everywhere have been fab. So much whinging about nhs in the news - think they need a break and some positivity!
I have been sneaking a look at the April thread and seeing some of their baby announcements and late pregnancy threads. Cheeky in know, but desperate to know what's in store in the next 6 weeks! One minute I want to fast forward and have it done and the next I want time to slow and keep him where he is!! xx

Turquoisetamborine · 04/04/2015 08:04

Kitty I hope you are in less nipple pain. That sounds so painful, ouch!!
lina glad you got the stuff you need. Never had thrush but sounds awful.
shiny I always find the NHS staff great too, god knows I've had my money's worth this pregnancy!! I'm dying to look at the April thread but am in denial that my life is going to change so much too. It will be worth it though. At least my son can do most things himself now even if he chooses not to!
Off to beamish museum today if you've ever heard of it. Like a reenactment of life as it was. I need to make a picnic but haven't been shopping since we went away so that will be interesting. Have a lovely day everyone xx

BeanCalledPickle · 04/04/2015 08:27

Morning all, don't know if it's being widely circulated but the law has just changed as regards car seats. You now have to have them rear facing until 15 months. The baby car seats that most people buy can almost stretch that far unless you have a big child.

Most people I know switched theirs to forward facing the minute they were big enough to use the next size car seat- when 9kg or from 9/10 months onwards. But you can't do this anymore.

Might be worth factoring this in when buying car seats. You can get extended rear facing seats which will last you many years which are probably a good option safety wise.

This link explains more www.parentdish.co.uk/baby/child-car-seat-confusion-guide-to-the-new-regulations-and-products/

BeanCalledPickle · 04/04/2015 08:35

And here's a good seat for birth to 3.5 www.direct2mum.co.uk/Products/2912/maxi-cosi-opal-group-1-car-seat-in-total-black?gclid=CLTD5PeD28QCFXTMtAodpxQA2g

Justyouwaitandsee · 04/04/2015 08:38

Yup - i spent a lot of time reading up on this and think I did mention it at the time (but several threads back!!) we have bought the Maxi Cosi pebble and the 2way fix base so when we need to upgrade to the pearl, we can still use the same isofix until we pass the required rear-facing timeframe, and then switch it around if needed and also use the same carseat/base front facing...

cuphat · 04/04/2015 08:49

Good one pointing that out, bean. The law seems to have come in very quietly.

Don't panic if you have a 0+ car seat. We have the Maxi Cosi pebble and DD stayed in that till she was 18 months. And she's 91st percentile (big and tall). They can stay in them till their ears hit the top of the seat, not just the top of their head (according to guidelines a few months back, anyway).

We also know people who were eager to put their babies in the next seat up asap (a mother I know actually saw putting their baby ff early on as something to brag about - her baby was a big boy now Hmm ).

BeanCalledPickle · 04/04/2015 09:04

Lot of that round here as well Cuphat. Does my head in. Like moving them FF at six months meant they were so much more advanced! We made it to 14 months in the baby seat and then we bought an impact reducing car seat. I'm a car seat nazi. My friends husband manufactures them and I'm always hearing the horror stories! This is my DD forward facing at 15 months. Still looks small!

Scottishgal78 · 04/04/2015 09:52

lina of you still suffer after pregnancy it light worth looking at a sugar free diet for 90 days. (Not straight away obvs - cakes and chocs will get us through the first few months I think). My friend had terrible trouble with this for years. Went to every dr and specialist and they couldn't treat it. Read up herself and found out candidia feeds on sugar. It's been hard but she's just coming up to her 90 days and it's the longest she hasn't had a bout of thrush for since her teens!

cuphat · 04/04/2015 10:34

Aww. That was exactly the attitude we came across.

Interestingly, while we used the Pebble it was marketed as being for 0-15 months roughly; with the addition of the 2 way Pearl to the range they've now changed it to 0-12 months roughly.

BeanCalledPickle · 04/04/2015 11:02

And I bet they are the same people who want a medal for introducing solids at four months? Despite the fact there is bugger all point?!

bradders85 · 04/04/2015 12:32

Hi everyone hope you are all enjoying the Easter weekend.

Now I have finished work nesting mode has fully kicked in!! Got my first lot of batch cooking currently on the go in the slow cooker and I am cleaning and organising kitchen cupboards!!!

cuphat · 04/04/2015 12:49

Spot on, Bean!
