Thanks Fanby! I would be much more excited if I weren't so anxious about the dress shopping. The colour is blush pink and the wedding isn't til May 2016 so I'm hoping 9 months will be enough time to slim down again, but the bride wants to get my dress now before I am TOO huge (although I am already on my way!)

And the jeans, I know! I wish I'd bought them weeks ago! Grin

pinkie87 · 23/03/2015 13:02

Oh equimum. Do it! You won't look back!!

Frolicacid · 23/03/2015 14:38

mzzf I have a scan on the first of April - We are so excited and really hope they will be able to tell us the sex. I have no preference, but am dying to find out.

Glad you are feeling better dozy - long may it continue. I have definitely turned another corner with sickness. I'm still being sick most days, but don't feel sick IFKWIM. My appetite is back with a vengeance, especially for sweet stuff. I just ate a big bag of chocolate and I'm pretty sure I felt some kicks about 10 minutes after - baby's first sugar rush Smile

Welcome mumtobe. I'm sorry your scan experience was so worrying. I hope you feel reassured after the second one.

Don't worry about the dress pinkie, I'm sure it will be fine. Blush pink is lovely. I'm also rapidly expanding. I have some H&M skinnies i found on e-bay, they are great. I had a look at some maternity clothes in the shops this weekend and didn't like anything. I'm really fussy about clothes. This i going to be a nightmare.

Yay for the energy boost Dani. I hope mine follows soon.

I hope everyone is having a good Monday. I'm off this week, so it's been lovely and lazy so far.

whitwoochantelle · 23/03/2015 15:24

hello ladies!
im slowly reading through iv'e not been on for a wee wile im 20 weeks today and have my scan next Monday! I'm slightly jealous you've been hearing the heart beats at your m/w appointments. I've been told they wont listen till after my 20 week scan so no tummy examinations either.
I have changed m/w this past 2weeks though i wasn't having a pleasant experience with my last she told me to shh while she was on the phone during the appointment i walked out and changed doctors to! Later discovered she'd put incorrect information in my booklet!

I'm feeling a bit un organised now reading how much people have brought,we have purchased a pram but only because it was on offer and a cot for the same reason that pretty much sums it haha.

ON the drinking issue i never drank before my pregnancy ( We were trying for a loooooong time)
but i have had a few sips of my partners cider. Ive heard Guinness is good as it has a lot of iron in ?

My sickness has nearly stopped now ( once or 2wice a day which i can cope with)

i'm feeling quite a bit of movement feel like im on rapids most of the day!

im going to stop waffling now.

ooh yes how do i get added on to the face book page?

Dozygirl · 23/03/2015 18:59

frolic glad u don't feel sick but rubbish ur still being sick. Maybe you'll be one of the unfortunate ones that's sick all the way through (Although obv I hope you're not). Enjoy your week off, hope weather stays nice for u.

dani do u not extra scans because u have twins? My friend is getting scans every 2 weeks with her twins.

pinkie get measured quick! One of my friends was really pregnant when measured for bridesmaid dress and they ordered her a size 20 because that was what she was measuring at even though she would never have been that once the baby was born. She had to have it massively taken in once the time came.

omc u are literally me! My scan is at 3:20 so practically the same time lol! Good luck with it. I can't wait now. only 4 more sleeps heehee. Are u gonna find out? I want to :)

I'm feeling loads better so back at work. Except I was in some pain in my upper right side, didnt know what it was but turns out it was just trapped wind haha. Kept going to loo to trump it out but it was still hurting. Once I left and could trump go my hearts content in my car the pain finally went. So embarrassing but funny too. The things pregnancy does to u! I've never had so much wind before or for it to hurt as much as it did. My dp is a lucky guy Wink

whit u need to look through an old post to get on facebook because Ali who set it up doesn't really post on here anymore but it has all her details and her Facebook picture on one of the old threads.

equimum you've done well to last this long still being able to just about put your jeans on! I couldn't wait to get maternity jeans. My new look ones are so comfy but I really need another pair.

Hope I've not missed anyOne. Everyones been chatty today.

Joskar · 23/03/2015 21:26

Must get back into the maternity trousers. While they still have a chance of fitting. Sil weigh less than bfp day but have a HUGE belly so it may already be too late. I think I got my other ones in H&M. Are they still doing decent ones? Do they do online? Cannot have taking the toddler 50 miles just to field tantrums in a shopping centre!

Last time pregnant I had a wedding two days after my due date. I naively thought I wouldn't be going as I would be having the baby so didn't buy a dress but when baba showed no sign I had to do an emergency dash to Asda and I came away what was essentially a size 20 black condom. I had to wear it with some Birkenstock flip flops that the dog had chewed because they were the only thing I could get my feet into. Ankles all spilling over the sides. Hideous. Hideous. It was upstairs too and my SPD was so bad I could barely walk but the loo was downstairs (of course! Where else would it be?!) and my bladder was about the same size as a walnut so I was stranded most of the evening next to the toilet. A memorable evening.

pinkie87 · 23/03/2015 22:14

Haha joskar your post made my evening! A size 20 black condom and a pair of birkenstocks! I know i shouldn't laugh at your misfortune but the image you conjured in my mind is priceless!

mzzzf · 23/03/2015 22:24

Oh ladies there must be something wrong with me - I hate maternity wear! There I said it Grin I find it so uncomfortable and totally unflattering. I think my normal body shape (Apple) plus having a transverse bump doesn't help. I find they cut in at the wrong level and then I just have all this excess Lycra material that comes up to my boobs - ssschexy! Grin

I'm still happy in my normal jeans, leggings etc but I've bought bigger t-shirts so help with my increasing sideways width. I'm looking forward to getting a 'front bump'!!

Talking of weddings though ladies, I have one a week before my due date and I'm unsure of what to RSVP with. It's a 2.5hr drive away but it's a family wedding I feel I should make the effort - argh!

Glad you ladies are managing your sickie-nesses and wind. Pregnancy is so glamourous, eh?!

So exciting with all the scans coming up!!

Frolicacid · 23/03/2015 23:04

dozy, I think you are probably right and I'll be one of the lucky few that vomit all the way through. My sister was, which is a good indicator apparently. It's manageable now I'm not constantly nauseous and dehydrated. But I'm doing a lot more public vomiting now as it's so bloody unpredictable without the nausea Blush. I'm also very windy and my farts seem to be getting louder every day.

jokstar, I can't even imagine what a size 20 condom might look like. Do you have any photos Wink?! It looks like we don't have any weddings this summer and I'm quite pleased not to have to find outfits.

mzzf, that's a tough call 2.5 hours will be quite a journey around your due date. Are you close enough to the bride and groom to talk to then about what might be best?

I seem to have developed thrush! Another joyous pregnacy symptom to cherish. I've tried some 1% canestan but it's not touching it. Looks like I'll spend tomorrow on the phone battling to get a gp appt. great.

Dozygirl · 24/03/2015 06:29

Haha joskar that's hilarious! !
I have 2 weddings on the same day when I'm 36 weeks so need to decide which to go to. mzzf I'd reply with a provisional yes if u can, I'm sure they'd understand if u didn't make it due to being otherwise engaged if baby makes an early appearance. I don't like maternity clothes or any clothes in general at the moment lol. I've just been living in jeans vest top and cardigans although finally found a pair of leggings front h&m because my others were just getting slightly uncomfortable so will move onto dresses. Will need a bigger size due to my growing boobs.

I'm determined to go to a local concert a week before my due date because it's an 80s and 90s night featuring a load of favourites from my childhood including vengaboys, five, East 17 and others. people keep telling me I won't be able to go but it's literally 5 mins down the road and it's never crowded at the back and I always stand at the back anyway. U can take chairs in too if u want. I just don't want to miss out.

OP posts:
pinkie87 · 24/03/2015 08:21

mzzf I'd also go with a provisional yes, they would understand I'm sure if you had to change your mind last minute.

frolic unfortunately I'm totally with you on the wind front. So embarrassing! Feel I'm losing all control. Talking of control I really need to do some pelvic floor exercises. Having a horrid cough is doing me no favours whatsoever! Blush

Dozy I'd say you'll probably be fine at the concert if you are able to sit down etc. Enjoy yourself, it may be your last night out in a while!

Newest problem: little itchy red bumps on my chest/boobs/belly. Not loads, just a few scattered. It's so irritating as I can't sit at work scratching! But feels so uncomfortable.

Frolicacid · 24/03/2015 11:36

That gig sounds fab dozy! I love a bit of 5ive. You will be fine. I'm going to a few things whilst pregnant. Like you say, it's always fine at the back. We have decided not to go to our favourite festivals this year as one starts on my due date and the other is two weeks after. All our friends are going and I'm quite envious as the line up's are fab.

I'll let you in on a little secret pinkie - I may have let out a few drops of www occasionally when puking Blush
And don't mention itching!! I'm sat on my hands waiting for a call back from my gp about my thrush.

sianihedgehog · 24/03/2015 12:01

Hi all, that's me freshly back from taking my bump to an electronic music festival - three days of baby's first rave. :P survived it all absolutely sober and had a great time, all my mates were super protective and had a good laugh with me about the various gross and funny less well advertised features of pregnancy. Of course, I've now got an absolutely STINKING cold, and lugging an enormous backpack through 7 hours of travel including rush hour tube traffic was hell, but I'm glad I did it!

Got my 20 week scan tomorrow afternoon, fingers crossed for it all to be healthy. Must confess to extreme worry, but I think that's normal for anyone who has lost a previous pregnancy. Why hasn't science found a way to let me just peek in there and check on things myself yet?!

birchwoods · 24/03/2015 14:41

Hi everyone!

I hope everyone is doing ok. Great news that those of you who have suffered with sickness are having an easier time now.

Equimum no we didn't find out the sex at the scan. We'd like to find out at the birth but I wasn't against seeing anything (ie. I strained my eyes trying to see if I could see a willy or not!!!). I thought I saw girls' bits, then I thought I saw boys' bits so I am none the wiser! The sonographer moved the thingy too quickly for me to have a proper look. I'm fine with not knowing though.

Fanby sadly I wasn't able to taste the pancakes, so just had to douse them in extra maple syrup and soldier on and eat them anyway!

pinkie I'm glad you're pleased with your changing table, I've got my eye on a few things from that ebay store. Is your table in pretty much perfect condition? What makes the items on there B-grade, are they ex-display or something?

Dozy I'm with you on the weight gain. I've gained SO much since becoming pregnant. I'm coming to terms with it now though and enjoying the cake! Embrace the cake!!!

Loving the talk of prams. We bought the Uppababy Vista (2014 version not the brand new one) a few weeks ago as Pram Centre were selling an ex-display. I'm so pleased with it, it's absolutely gorgeous. I've washed all the fabric and am going to wipe down the frame and wheels this evening (not that that all needs doing but only the best for my first born!) so it will look brand new! It was discounted by £300 so we got a bargain.

Someone was asking about the Facebook group a while ago, I have to say, it is really nice on the FB group. It's lovely to be able to put a face to a name. If anyone is worried about privacy though, it's a completely private group so nothing that you post on there can be seen by anyone other than those that are members of the group, it won't appear on your normal Facebook at all. I'm very private on Facebook too, I don't post anything personal and it's fine.

In other news, I think I finally felt the baby move last night! I must have bypassed the butterflies/popcorn/bubble stage because of my anterior placenta as I felt what I think were little kicks, quite low down when I was lying in bed. At last!!!

pinkie87 · 24/03/2015 15:17

Hi birchwoods, I can't see anything wrong with it at all. Not one mark. It came in all the original (undamaged) packaging. I wonder if maybe it was returned by someone or something? So mothercare can't guarantee it's not damaged? I really have no idea tbh. On the feedback most people say it arrives in perfect condition, I guess the B classification is just a disclaimer, "just in case".

I really want to join the FB group. :(

and Yey for movements!!! How far along are you?

whitwoochantelle · 24/03/2015 15:38

Birchwood if i send u over my email address do you think you could add me in? I've had a flick through the previous posts but carnt seem to see anything xx

birchwoods · 24/03/2015 16:07

whitwoo yes sure, although I'm not sure if I can add people myself or if Alex has to add people as she's the administrator. If you search for Alex Barlow on Facebook (her picture is of her with brown hair and her baby son) she will be able to add you to the group.

Pinkie come and join! I'm 20+3 today so really pleased I'm finally feeling something. I think I felt something about half an hour ago as well, yay!

birchwoods · 24/03/2015 16:09

Pinkie that's so brilliant about your changing table. Are you going to order the Harrogate cot bed too? I'm still tempted by the Lulworth cot bed but I really want something with a drawer underneath. So many I see are almost perfect but not quite, or the perfect ones cost a fortune! I just want something simple, white, with a drawer, not a sleigh cot or anything with curvy bits, just simple, I can't seem to find it anywhere!

pinkie87 · 24/03/2015 16:21

Ok I have messaged Alex Barlow, so hopefully I will be added! It may go to her others though so she may not see it?

birchwoods no unfortunately not (I'd love to!) as we are having a hand me down cotbed from my sister. Obviously I'm super grateful and it saves us money but the harrogate cot is beautiful! That seller often has the white harrogate up too I think so maybe worth watching!

whitwoochantelle · 24/03/2015 16:32

i think i've messaged the right person who knows! i had a beautiful cot from asda in a light grey colour, we were ummming and arrring over weather to spend a bit more on a cot bed but i dint like the look of the majority of them once the side were off, like you i not a fan of the sleigh bed. im just struggling with draws now . the bed room has a built in wardrobe ( were the old boiler used to be) and i don't know wither to get a changing station that fits over the bed or a complete unit. i had some lovely under cot storage from ikea that just roll under the bed

xBlueberry88x · 24/03/2015 16:43

Hey ladies sorry i am still around but was finding it hard keeping up with everything (baby brain).

Had 20w scan yesterday all went well and we are expecting a little boy!!

Ive been feeling little kicks for a few weeks now but they are definately getting stronger.

I bought some baby bits on the weekend nice to finally get started but i have no idea on prams and cots etc its stressing me out!!

Hope everything is going well for everyone!!

ruby242 · 24/03/2015 17:50

Soontobe how annoying about your scan but glad it turned out ok in the end

Poor you frolicacid with your sickness, hopefully it will end-mine went from all day nausea to then just being sick occasionally randomly and now am totally fine so hopefully yours is going in that direction too!!

I have got some maternity clothes im happy with now but struggled when I first started looking-I hate clothes shopping online, kept buying things from asos but then having to return them! Finally found an independent maternity shop near me so actually got to try things on so bought a lot of things from there and also went to a bigger mothercare to try some things on :)

Omc and dozy my scan is also on Friday-in the morning though! I have found I have a love/hate relationship with scans though as I so love seeing the baby but also have a last minute panic that something will be wrong lol!

Ooh thankyou for the tip on the ebay mothercare items, I have my eye on the Lulworth cot and that's good to know pinkie that yours came with no damage etc!

Congrats on your baby boy blueberry, fantastic news :)

Frolicacid · 24/03/2015 19:24

Bloody hell! Just lost a really long post!

Lovely to hear from you blueberry. Congratulations on your little boy. I hope your sickness and sore back are doing ok.

I hope everyone else is alright. Loving all the pram / cots / furniture talk - so many good ideas.

Dozygirl · 24/03/2015 19:32

yey blueberry you're still alive! Got worried about u for awhile. And congrats on finding out you're having a boy.

ruby that's lucky having a maternity shop near You. I hate online shopping too because of the hassle of returning stuff. Same thoughts re: scans. So excited a bit seeing baby but it's called an anomaly scan for a reason so i also feel worried about it. I think we'll always be worried for ever and ever now though!

Slightly obsessed with watching one born every minute. It's like a drug! Part of me thinks I shouldn't watch it because it terrifies me but part of me cant help it. I cry everytime the baby comes out haha. one made me actually sob for ages because the woman was whisked off for an emergency c/s.

I've realised though that there is no way of making yourself look attractive through it all no matter how pretty u are or how much make up! I don't even wear make up anyway But I still wanna look half decent.

OP posts:
Equimum · 25/03/2015 08:29

Joskar, tour black condoneons impression is hilarious - made me lol!

Congratulations on your little boy Blueberry.

Good luck to everyone (Dozy, omc and ruby, I think?) with scans this Friday (and anyone with scans any other day). I can't believe our scan is a week today, eek.

I'm hoping to pop into JoJo Maman Bebe and try some maternity bits on next Monday. I have a voucher, so thought I might treat myself to a couple of nice tops.
