Still here too - went to see midwife this morning & booked for a sweep next Tuesday. She kept going on that I looked really tired - but kept telling her what do you expect when overdue & with a sick toddler to look after! Still only 2/5 engaged too.

purpleluce · 01/11/2006 16:27

Hi there

Young mum - sympathies, I felt exactly like that yesterday but slept really well and feel loads better today. Realistically would rather go into labour feeling 100% then off colour. There are so many bugs round right now too aren't there

Emilyt - I too had reflexology yesterday, similar response re pituitary (had had it the previous Friday too) and am also having lots of bh and period pains. Baby is now kicking a lot in a different place from usual. Hoping he/she is pushing self down.

Also had a sweep yesterday w mw. Be very interesting to see if we have similar experience or not?

TMI alert - she also said I had candida (thrush) that would prob wash away when membranes break, BUT have deliberated and taken an over counter remedy as dont want sore, dry "flute" during labour or baby to get thrush if can help it.

I used to be a rep for the company concerned and sell the product so I know about safety profile, but am now locked into beating myself up about it potentially so off to google the clinical trials on it to try and seek reassurance

MrsBlobby · 01/11/2006 16:56

Hope everyone's ok - congrats to all the new Mums! Hope you're all finding things as rewarding as I am! I'm still at the 'in awe' stage!

I do find it a whole lot trickier to find the time to log on (or do anything else for myself) so I hope that will change soon!

Has anyone heard from DogMum lately? Hopefully this is good news.....!

youngmum21 · 01/11/2006 18:01

hi again,

Am feeling better after a nice afternoon on the sofa only moving for food or drink so am hoping that was my body telling me that baby wud soon be here and too rest or maybe that just wishful thinking !!!
Not really much happening though!!!
Can anyone tell me if you dont have any twinges or period pains this means that labour cud still be ages away or cud it just start still sorry if it sound silly!!!

Hi youngmum on the Nov thread there are people that have been having contractions and pains for over a week with no movement and others that have gone straight into full blown labour - glad you are feeling better chat soon eeyoreuk

BENDYB · 02/11/2006 00:34

hey every1,
Bet no 1 is on here at the mo!
I've been at my mums again 2day, When I got home my waters went! They just came gushing out! I really started 2 panic! We went 2 the hospital bout half 9, we've just got back bout half hour ago! They put me on monitor & listened 2 babies heartbeat etc & examined me then sent me home! I really thought I'd b coming home with my baby!
I have been having a few lil period type pains but nothin else yet so just gotta wait 4 somethin 2 happen!!! Its so annoying! & they not gonna induce me till sat! So if contractions dont start I'm gonna b waiting all that time!!!!
Hopefully its all gonna start 2nite tho! I'll let u no. good luck if any1 in labour! xxx

Popsi · 02/11/2006 05:50

Good luck BendyB.
Youngmum - i had absolutely no pains before the real thing last time.
Went to a friends house last night leaving DH to babysit & promise he would put DD to bed - he didn't & I got back at 11 & she wouldn't go to her own bed so she came in with us & has just been kicking me awake for the last 2 hours & then she woke & had a big screaming fit and now I can't sleep! Why won't he listen to me?

youngmum21 · 02/11/2006 08:13

wow bendy hope every thing is going ok im still here and nothing has happened looks like you cud have your lo before me!!!!

Am starting to feel really down about this now i know there nothing i can do and i shudnt worry or stress, im just so tired and everything hurts and i dont want to go anywhere just incase!!!! xx

OP posts:
clon · 02/11/2006 08:36

Good luck Bendy hopefully your lo will appear before Sat.

Hang in there youngmum, i know it is really frustrating. I was 7 days over and told nothing would happen soon then Megan arrived the next day so try and stay positive and get as much rest as you can now.

Dogmum where are you? Hope your absence is a sign you are busy with your baby.

BENDYB · 02/11/2006 08:39

How exciting bendyb: sound like things are moving right along.
How is it going?

Hope Dogmum is OK - are you out there?

purpleluce · 02/11/2006 08:55

Morning - good luck bendy, may your contractions be effective and pain free

Young mum - it all tailed off last night and back to square one this morning for me - last time the sweep was at 41 weeks and I had the baby within 12 hours of it - why dont I listen to myself.....babies come when they are ready and there is very little I can to accelerate it.

I am starting to obsess and promised myself I wouldn't this time!

It really won't be long now...bonfire night baby anyone?

youngmum21 · 02/11/2006 09:00

i know wot you mean am trying not to obsess about it but it hard especially when ppl around you are going in to labour and having there los!!!

Well i guess your getting there purple i havent had any thing a few bh!!! x

OP posts:
purpleluce · 02/11/2006 09:04

You may well be getting there too, I dont even remember bhicks on baby number one!

So - think I am going to resort to cinema again today, really can't justify any more shopping

Statistically we have a very good chance of things hapenning in the next 4 days - its just that the may be the longest 4 days of our lives........ fingers crossed

youngmum21 · 02/11/2006 09:09

well i keep hoping they will lead to sumthing as they only seem to really happen in the evening but then i go to bed and nothing this has already been the longest 4 days eva another 4 wud be torture!!!

OP posts:
BENDYB · 02/11/2006 09:42

thanks every1, they quite painfull now think i might go back 2 hospital soon.

dont worry youngmum, it'll b ur turn soon! I had only had a few lil pains then my waters just went without any kind of warning at all! it could happen at anytime,

Swizzler · 02/11/2006 10:01

How close together are the contractions? Ring the hospital if you're unsure whether to go in. Good luck

youngmum21 · 02/11/2006 11:42

catgirl · 02/11/2006 12:11

well done to the new mums and good luck to those going through it at the mo... looking forward to reading announcements shortly!

jmcmugwump · 02/11/2006 14:53

well done to all the new mums - and hang on in there for all of you still waiting - it is worth it!!

My LO is currently curled up on my chest sleeping soundly - unlike last night but never mind - can't really remember what it was like before we had her now - although i'm sure it had something to do with going outside more than twice a week!! And gettibg dressed before lunchtime - oh and actually eating lunch befire 4 in the afternoon!!

Any of you still waiting do make sure you have lots of ready meals in the freezer as it took me 10 days to get to the supermarket!! Also make sure you have plenty of maternity towels - I got through 4 packs in total. And if you have stitches make sure they give you some laxative to bring home with you - constpation and stitches
