good evening ladies.. something unpregnancy related that might brighten your evening. if you missed 'you're back in the room' you have most definatky missed out! I've had a rough day and put that on (we recorded it as was working late Saturday) and its really worth the watch!.

hope you ladies have had a good Monday x

Adventuregame · 16/03/2015 21:56

Just a thought before I go to bed - for those of us who are 10 weeks plus : we're a quarter of the way through !!!

sleepyMe12 · 17/03/2015 08:32

Morning quick catch up with everyone. I've finally got my 12 week scan for the 27th ill be 11+5 I'm actually really nervous. I've also been suffering the worst constipation so any tips would be great!

gaggiagirl · 17/03/2015 08:43

I'm 10+5 today! Yay! I'll be 12+4 not 12+3 for my scan...doh!
sleepy no ideas from me but I'm suffering too so ill watch with interest.

Choccywoccydodah · 17/03/2015 08:51

8 weeks today and my scan yippee!!!!
Have had to put it back half hour as ds has Een up most the night with bad abdo pain and constipation. Poor little thibg has a temp of 79.1!!
Dr can't see him til 11.40 and my can is half hour away at 1pm. My appt was 12.30 first so hopefully will get there for 1 as they'll do my scan first before my bloods etc. as they have to use EPU while they're on lunch. Poor little man is never ill :(

Sorelip · 17/03/2015 08:53

sleepyme12 my scan is on 27th as well but I don't know how far along I'll be because I don't think I'm as far along as my Lmp would suggest.

As for constipation I found dates and coffee worked. Yesterday I had the opposite problem after eating a bag of Maoam sweets. Jesus H Christ, never again.

Fizzy13 · 17/03/2015 09:33

Anyone else struggling to sleep? I wake up at 4am needing the loo and can't get back to sleep. By the 6:30 alarm I'm so tired my morning sickness is coming back.

Choccywoccydodah · 17/03/2015 09:36

Fizzy I have been struggling too! But I've had such a busy weekend, sunday I only woke once and it was amazing!!
Last night however I was up most of it with ds. (Temp is 39.1 not 79.1 as I put above!)
Could happily go back to sleep right now as he's cuddled up in bed with me!

Toast85 · 17/03/2015 10:59

I am! Awake most mornings at 4-5 ish and unable to get back to sleep. Sometimes awake around 2-3 ish too for an hour or so. Feel so rough in the mornings when I've had a bad night. It had started to settle a bit and I even had a night where I slept through until 7am, but then I had this spotting scare and I'm back to sleeping badly whilst I wait for my EPU appointment tomorrow.
Good luck with your scan today choccy!

I wake up about 5am nearly every morning for a pee. As I get up at 5.30, I don't always get back to sleep again. Last night I had heartburn for the first time Confused. Wasn't expecting that until a lot later on!! Ended up sleeping kind of propped up, and woke up with a sore neck. If I get it again I'll have to get some Gaviscon, but I haven't got my exemption card yet, any idea if that's going to make life hard? And I'm assuming I can just phone my midwife for a prescription?

gaggiagirl · 17/03/2015 11:41

I wake up at 3am every morning bursting for a wee then straight back to bed for some 'not quite' sleep.

whoknew28 · 17/03/2015 13:41

Good luck today, Choccy, hope it goes really well.

The whole getting up in the night thing and peeing thing - completely sympathise. Bit of an embarrassing story from this weekend, staying at parents-in-laws, trying to be quiet and not wake anyone up, so didn't put the landing light on... And promptly trod on the dog, lying asleep outside their room! Cue a massive yelp and it springing backwards into their door and flinging it open, everyone awake and confused, thinking I was a burglar for the first five seconds. Funny now, but mortified at the time ??

whoknew28 · 17/03/2015 13:46

Oh - and also massively irritated by people at work. DH and I are about to move into our new house, and as we got married last year, so many 'must be having a baby soon' comments and even a patronising pat on my already rounding tum (all bloat and over-eating of course, at 9 wks!). Why do people feel okay about saying that sort of thing? So personal! Part of me wants to say, 'actually we were trying last year and I had a miscarriage' to make them feel so uncomfortable that they never dare say that to anyone again! *rant over ??

batfish · 17/03/2015 13:54

Good luck to all who have scans!

I also have been waking early bursting for a wee which is really irritating as I can usually sleep like the dead. At the weekend I could get back to sleep but not as deeply as usual. Not sure how me and this baby are going to see eye to eye when my sleep is getting disturbed already Grin

batfish · 17/03/2015 13:58

whoknew that is so annoying - we have been married for almost 6 years (and together for over 16 Shock) and we've had so many comments. What I don't understand is why people ask when for all they know we could have been trying for years. Luckily it has been by choice but it must be upsetting for people who have problems conceiving having to face those kinds of questions constantly.

I live in the UAE and it's actually terrible here as there are a lot of people from India and Philippines - and in their culture they generally marry and immediately have children. So they literally cannot comprehend waiting to start a family. We have had SO many pitying looks and even people asking us what is wrong when we tell them we are married and don't have children. The fact that up to now it has been through choice just baffles them!

Choccywoccydodah · 17/03/2015 14:19

Boo!
8+2, which is what I always said! Mummy knows best Wink

Ahh amazing choccy!!

gaggiagirl · 17/03/2015 14:31

Ah congratulations choccy!

scatterbrainedlass · 17/03/2015 14:38

Grin choccy!!

We were together for 5 years, and now married for another 5, and people like to make hints. A friend of ours said that if anyone asks, you should just reply 'Well it's not for lack of trying!' and it shuts them up!! Problem was, it wasn't true in our case (unless you can call it trying when you're technically preventing it!!) No-one knows yet, unless they've guessed. We're not scared of telling people, just scared of the reaction, both our mothers are going to go way over the top and get crazy excited. To be fair, we've left them waiting long enough, neither are grandmas yet thanks to me being the eldest, and DH sister not having had any yet.

lalalemon · 17/03/2015 18:47

Hi ladies!

Can someone help me?!

I'm just over 8 weeks and haven't been to the doctors yet as we've been decorating/moving into our new house and I had to transfer to a new surgery closer to our new home!

Do I actually need to make an appointment to see the GP? Or can I ring up and make an appointment with the midwife straight off?

I'm just conscious that there can be quite a wait for 12 week scan round here (best mate also preggo and was almost 14 weeks when she had her scan!)

Any help most gratefully recieved!

Toast85 · 17/03/2015 18:57

I think it depends on local procedures- I couldn't refer myself, I had to see GP first, but I think others have self-referred to their midwives. You could always phone your new surgery in the morning. They should be able to register you and see you at the same time.
Hope the move is going well!

lalalemon · 17/03/2015 19:05

I've already done the registering part online so that's no so bad!

If you go through GP roughly how long do you have to wait to see Midwife after that? I'm off work all week next week so would be great if it was that quick since booking in appointment is apparently a long one!

Choccywoccydodah · 17/03/2015 19:17

I phoned the gps surgery today after my scan and they've booked me straight in with the Mw to book me. I'll be 11+5, so thankfully she hasn't got to book my scan as that's quite late on. Scans are normally 11-14 weeks this way (Midlands) :)

whoknew28 · 17/03/2015 20:30

Lala - you can likely self refer to a hospital near you, just have a Google. It might be quicker than going through a GP and you can choose where you like the sound of, rather than just being allocated. I'm about to move, and have done that, they gave me a booking in appt and 12 Wk scan date straight away!
