It seems that little bean would like to mark her place too as she appears to be karate kicking my downstairs area...

Happy Saturday, here's to good nights sleep all round!

SmileyScooby · 21/02/2015 22:59

Thanks Kitty, 6 weeks until unofficial maternity leave aka Easter holidays hehe

gingerfluffball · 21/02/2015 23:42

New thread - these are rocketing along aren't they? Hopefully the next few weeks go along just as fast Smile 10 weeks til both maternity leave and due date here.

Went baby shopping today with dh for nappy bag, crib sheets, lansinoh, cotton wool, sudocrem etc (feeling v organised) and splurged on some totally non-essential but lovely hungry caterpillar soft blankety wrap things- I love them! Makes me nostalgic for the hungry caterpillar stuff I had when I was little.

plinkyplonks · 21/02/2015 23:54

Thanks Kitty :)

When is everyone planning to take maternity leave? I was planning to leave at 40 weeks. But after a bit of a hospital scare, I'm thinking of moving it forward to 38 weeks :/

Threesoundslikealot · 22/02/2015 00:26

Evening, new thread!

11 weeks to EDD for me and 10 till maternity leave. I'm working through, hopefully, till 39 weeks but it's my third, I'm fairly sure I won't be having this baby before 40 weeks, and I want to save up my paid time for after the birth. I have a desk based job plus I can mostly work from home for the whole of April.

If all these things weren't the case, I would consider going at 36 weeks.

KittyVonCatsington · 22/02/2015 07:26

Ooh, lots of varied starts to maternity leave! Like Scooby, technically my ML starts three weeks before EDD, so 13th April, but school Easter Hols mean actually will be off two weeks before that-yippee!!!!!

Sounds like some good shopping there ginger and have put Lansinoh on my list, ta! I too loved the Hungry Caterpiller so will get that book for Kitlet as well as The Jolly Postman and Spot the Dog books, ah memories!! must buy some book shelves

I am signed off sick for another week but will go back a week on Monday as long as consultant is happy with me, then I'll have 4 weeks left to maternity leave as I'm on leave over the Easter holidays.
Can't wait!

gingerfluffball · 22/02/2015 07:38

The jolly postman! Love that book... have added to the list! Thanks Kitty Grin

longestlurkerever · 22/02/2015 08:19

Hello! Thanks for the new thread. I am going to start mat leave at 37 weeks. I work in government though and hope things will start winding down soon before the election.

Justyouwaitandsee · 22/02/2015 08:47

Thanks for the new thread!
I am planning to finish work at Easter (36wks). Working in London and with the commute to and from home, I don't want to push it too close to the wire, and I am already finding it a bit tiring.

We are still working on the house. DH and my dad are now working on the bathroom. Can't wait for that to be finished! Trying not to get too hung up on stuff for the baby, whilst the house in still in chaos. Am hoping that taking early-ish mat leave will give me more preparation time.

Ooh loving all the book suggestions - I can't wait to buy some of my old favourites! Again, must try to be sensible and wait till we have a dust free room to put them in Smile

leanne963 · 22/02/2015 09:22

13 weeks til Due Date today! My Tutor advised that I don't come back to uni after the Easter break which means I will be finished at about 32 weeks! But I'll be doing uni work from home! So only 5 weeks left which feels weird!

Had some annoying browny discharge yesterday, not a lot, but noticeable on a panty liner! Just keeping an eye on it cause she was moving around lots and there was no pain! Ready to have her here now lol!

SmileyScooby · 22/02/2015 09:28

Oh the memories of well loved books, I had forgotten the jolly postman! The book people are fab for book sets, I have already bought for me ages ago the Mr men and little miss book sets and Beatrix potter ones :)

shinyhappyone · 22/02/2015 09:38

Thread 7?!!! Eek! Thanks kitty.
8 more weeks til maternity (though 2 of those are holiday) and stopping at 36 weeks. Finding the bought of not working quite daunting! Thought I'd be really looking forward to it but not there yet. xx

KittyVonCatsington · 22/02/2015 09:48

I hear you shiny -I really love my job and will be sad to stop working with my lovely colleagues but just have to keep looking forward to meeting Kitlet!!

Have you phoned your midwife leanne? With baby moving and no pain it's probably fine but a good idea to be logged maybe?

When will the house be finished just? You must be itching to start organising the Baby things Grin

Am procrastinating on Mumnset. I have so much marking to do today but I don't want to do it, eek!!

applecore0317 · 22/02/2015 10:07

I'm off from May 1st, will be just under 38 weeks, but I start with two weeks holiday and actual Mat leave starts a week before my due date :)

Still off work at the moment, consultant wants me to self certify another week until next appt and then mentioned signing me off again for another two weeks. I think he just wil keep signing me off in two week blocks but if allowed I might ask to go back but on reduced hours if things continue to improve

Mention it to the midwife leanne, worth just getting it checked

d0ttyne11 · 22/02/2015 10:11

Thanks Kitty and morning everybody. Hope you are all keeping well. Quickly marking my place here before going to pop the kettle on Brew

It's been lovely reading this new thread this morning and realising how close we are to meeting these May babies! It's getting closer now! X

Snooky17 · 22/02/2015 10:19

Marking my place too, cup of tea and hot cross buns for breakfast
