We are already nearing the halfway point! Some of us have already reached the 20 weeks, the rest will follow suit. Let the countdowns begin!

Here is the stats list, please update them with your scan dates and the sex of you baby (if you know it):

I have an anterior placenta, I was told they will keep an eye on it as this is my 3rd c-section.

My other two were also anterior placentas.

Nothing to worry about, but you may have reduced movement at times.

My Vista 2015 has just been delivered to my parents (no room to store just yet). Who knew I could be so excited by a pram!

We went with it due to the massive basket, additional sun shade and how easy it is to fold etc. Also been recommended by family and friends. Also it helps we can add an additional seat if we do have another! Luckily my parents treated us to it as it is expensive!

I'm also struggling with sinus pain but think it is just hayfever, hoping it will pass! don't want it to impact on my easter egg eating!

MustBeLoopy390 · 02/04/2015 13:15

Thank you for the info, we haven't been told anything about it just noticed it the other day looking at scan reports in notes. Finding it very 'distant' this time, not much info given etc. first time (I think) I've had an anterior placenta and must admit I've had times where dh has felt baby move when I haven't, explains he isn't going mad lol! X

charlieis30 · 02/04/2015 13:44

I do, must, but apparently it's not low so they're not concerned. It just took me ages to feel the baby moving round.

smallgreenbanana · 02/04/2015 14:53

Having anterior placenta has made no difference to feeling movements for me. I felt them first at 15 weeks and often wonder if she's trying to escape now at 26 weeks Grin

Only thing I heard was slightly increased risk of baby facing the front on the way out, but I refuse to worry about all the things that could go wrong. Smile

FourAndDone · 02/04/2015 15:33

Just ordered my pushchair! Went for the bugaboo cameleon 3 in classic navy. Can't wait for it to be delivered!!Smile

Fattycow · 02/04/2015 15:43

Welcome loopy!

I have an anterior placenta as well. Still got to feel the first movements at 12 weeks, but only in one spot. Now (I'm 27 weeks tomorrow), I can feel movement all over the place!

MustBeLoopy390 · 02/04/2015 16:27

Small I've had one front facing, wasn't as bad as I thought it would be lol that ones been trouble since the start Grin and Fatty I started at around 14 weeks but it's been sporadic, much more noticeable since 20 weeks x

BadIdeaBear · 02/04/2015 18:35

I'm anterior too. Hasn't caused me not to feel movements at all - have felt them since about 13/14 weeks!

So, what are the concerns with anterior placenta then beyond the risk of a back to back - are other worries related to CSs?

MustBeLoopy390 · 02/04/2015 19:24

BadIdea not a clue :) didn't even know about it until my husband googled it x

charlieis30 · 02/04/2015 20:10

As far as I understand it's nothing to be worried about, just that a very small number of women with anterior placentas have placenta praevia (sp?) where the placenta covers the cervix. That can raise issues around delivery but even that often rights itself before you get to full term.

Fattycow · 02/04/2015 20:35

If your placenta sits that low, they will do some extra scans to see if it 'moves up'. It normally does and in the rare cases it doesn't, you will have an elective section.

I am going to make my cord tie this weekend. Really excited about that!

BadIdeaBear · 02/04/2015 21:01

Ah, OK, well I don't have placenta praevia so I shall go back to not being worried at all then!! Cool.

Clstow · 02/04/2015 23:05

Welcome Loopy
I also have an anterior placenta, didn't start feeling movement till 20 weeks and now I feel movement throughout the day (and night!) but it's still v gentle... Noticed on fb the other day that people were saying they felt beaten up, I definite don't feel anything that strong and can't see him moving. Should I be worrying?

jmojo · 03/04/2015 00:16

clstow if you feel movements then don't worry. It doesn't matter if they are lighter than someone else's.

Fattycow · 03/04/2015 00:35

Each woman, pregnancy and baby is different. So very difficult to compare. I wouldn't worry except when my midwife is worried.

Did I tell you ladies I bought a pretty dark grey pram? I'm in love with it and cannot wait for summer to be here and baby to arrive, so we can do walks!

OP posts:
Thepurplegiraffe · 03/04/2015 07:37

Clstow I don't have an anterior placenta and movements are still pretty light. I think it is just about getting to know your own baby's movements and what to expect. I never got kicked much with dd1.

Congrats on the pram Fatty it is one of the more exciting purchases, as opposed to maternity pads.Smile

broodylicious · 03/04/2015 08:31

Yeah I agree, clstow - the big downside to all of this social media and having a big group of preggos together is that it's so hard not to compare. But don't worry, if you have some movement, all is good Smile

Aretepetite · 03/04/2015 09:17

Welcome Loopy
Hello everyone

Little update from me, all is well in the arête neck of the woods.

LO was measuring under by 1.5 cm at the mw last week. I'm not worried it makes sense in a way with my dates being brought forward at 12 week scan. I never did agree with that. I'm another one with an anterior placenta, i'm feeling lots kicks/movement, often and at the sides or low down. They are also pretty soft at the moment. DH can feel them. MW said lo was head down. It could still change though.

My car died on Weds so that's another thing to get sorted sooner rather than later.

Happy Easter weekend all to of you. I hope it is a wonderful weekend for you all.

I heart Easter Easter Grin

Aretepetite · 03/04/2015 09:20

To all of you! Easter Wink

Charliej86 · 03/04/2015 09:43

lil boy is very quiet today, dad usually gets a few good morning kicks. There's a few so dunno whether he's just having a lazy day or I should be worried.

Been hunting for my carrier, I had a baby hawk mei tai with DS n loved up. Deffo think I'll go mei tai again but not baby hawk as they're quite expensive.

Who's having fish & chips today? I don't like fish but usually have sausage. My cars in getting fixed today tho so we won't get. X

Aretepetite · 03/04/2015 09:43

My bump was measured not baby.

Aretepetite · 03/04/2015 09:55

Charliej That is an idea. I cannot fast and not expected to either. Small mercies eh! I have never been good at fasting Easter Blush

I was told not to expect a set pattern for lo until after 28 weeks. Your having movement of sort which is the main thing.
