I am sooo tired. DH came home from work last night (works away for 14 days at a time) and proceeded to get ratted with friend whose girlfriend gave birth yesterday.

This in itself was not the problem. What was the problem was when he came to bed at some ungodly hour and woke we me up no less than 3 times during the night with a)toilet visit, b) search for paracetamol c) drunken attempt at cuddle when no paracetamol could be found.

As far as household behaviour (cooking, cleaning, washing) is concerned he is a saint, but sometimes he can also be a complete ARSE!!!!

I am soooo knackered. Rant over. Promise

Juicylucythe2nd · 27/10/2006 10:55

well at least he has a big fat hangover this morning

puppydavies · 27/10/2006 11:15

lots of sticky wishes here too.

is there a booby prize (rofl) for the smallest boobs? even with significant increasage i'm neatly fitting into the b's i never quite filled before. they're all heavy and swingy, it's most disconcerting.

i'm dead jealous about the house buying, it's fab when you fall in love with a place isn't it. we're still in our first place but we're going to have to convert the loft if we're going to stay much longer. don't forget it's not just about the house it's where it is. we're in such a great place, with friends, parks, shops, schools, soft play all just a short walk away. makes such a difference when you've got a new baby to have everything on your doorstep.

this is going to end up long but can i moan? i went to see the docs today about getting into the antenatal system. they'd already insisted on a preg test and waiting for results before i got that far and the doc cancelled me earlier in the week. doc was locum, very nice and helpful about weird migraine-visuals i got on the weekend, but utterly clueless wbout how to get me to see a midwife. then the receptionist says i have to see a senior doc who have no appts till next friday.

all i want is to see a bloody midwife and get booked in for a 12 week scan. i'm not fussed on blood tests and stuff and i want a homebirth so not bothered about getting into hosp or anything. why does the gp's surgery have to make everything so bloody difficult? grrr

and then to top it off my 3 yr old wakes up with a hacking cough. she hasn't been ill for months and now she's coming down with something the day before her long planned first holiday without mum and dad spending a few days with her grandparents. i could really do with the break just to catch up on everything i've been letting slide lately.

mummymelling · 27/10/2006 12:35

Afternoon all, gosh away for an afternoon and there is loads of chat to catch up on !!! Ive gone up to a 42dd lord only knows what size nursing bras i will need!!!

incy · 27/10/2006 13:15

Incy - the bit about "sheets" is for toilet paper tuesday. We are measuring round our middles with toilet paper on a tuesday and noting how many sheets each week - mad isn't it?

incy · 27/10/2006 13:32

Thanks for making me welcome. LOL at the toilet sheets. I am 7 sheets so far and have added my information.

LG&T- thinking about you and sending you lots of positive vibes. I really hope everything's okay.

JL- I do hope you've hoovered and turned music up loud this morning. Sounds like DH needs a bit of a rude wake-up call (bless them celebrating though, shame it has to be in such a predictable way!).

PuppyDavies, I just asked the receptionist at my GP's for a booking in appointment with the midwife and they gave it to me straight away. I can't believe the difference in procedures in different parts of the country. They didn't even do a pg test, as home pg tests are so reliable these days.

Incy- welcome to the mad house. You can stay if you wrap yourself in loo paper every Tuesday like a true May07er! Congratulations to you on your pg.

Well, we put in an offer on the house this morning. Had our mortgage agreed in principle too, waiting to hear if we've got the go-ahead from the vendor. Wish me luck! I'm very excited, marriage 18months ago was a doddle compared to the 35yr commitment of a mortgage. Exciting stuff! Babies, houses, marriage... it just seemed to happen all of a sudden. I keep waiting for somebody to find me out and say surely you're not a mature and responsible adult, get thee back to thine parents...

ShowOfBloodyAndSeveredHands · 27/10/2006 13:45

InTheseShoes- nice to meet somebody else who has a lycra-crad DH! Answer me this, is he ridiculously attached to his bike and does he insist on buying it little metal attachments that seem to cost a fortune and do no discernible job? And has he ever lost his bloody wedding ring in the bottom of a lake when doing a swim leg? Grr!

It's great really, love standing on the sidelines with a picnic . I fear our unborn child is already destined to join in the junior triathlons!

Juicylucythe2nd · 27/10/2006 14:34

SOBASH - sadly I had to get up and go to work!! But I did call him at 10am to make sure he was up and not enjoying any kind of lie-in

SKYTVMOSTHAUNTEDADDICT · 27/10/2006 15:17

I have told work today that I am pregnant. They were not surprised but I feel the Accountant really does take his job too seriously. He gave me a lecture (albeit a nice one) on how small companies such as ours really suffer when someone goes on maternity leave! . It didn't help that I told him I would probably be taking the full 39 weeks paid maternity leave as the baby was due after 1 April 2007 and the rules were changing! FFS the only way it effects him is that he has too change the pay roll as we are paid monthly and SMP is weekly!

Rant over for now!

Bensonbluebird · 27/10/2006 15:26

I haven't posted for weeks, been kinda busy with half term and visiting parents so have just been catching up. Decided to phone the community midwives on friday as I hadn't had a booking appointment, followed it up again on tuesday and found out that I had a scan booked for wednesday morning but must have not recieved the letter! It was fab to finally see the little wriggler. I feel guilty that I haven't been thinking about this one nearly as much as I did with DS (DS had two canines come through on the morning of the scan and was sooo grumpy).

Some stats to add:

Toilet paper tuesday, thats great! 5.5 sheets (I do have a bump honest and have put on 3 kilos my trousers finally fit round the waist)

Live in Edinburgh - hope you enjoyed your visit to our rainy city twelveyeargap

Juicylucythe2nd · 27/10/2006 15:57

Flipin 'ek. Either you're tiny or you toilet roll has long sheets!!!

Must admit forgot to do it this week, will re-engage on Tuesday.

Have a fun weekend everyone. No PC at home (STILL - bloody TALKTALK!!!).

ShowOfBloodyAndSeveredHands · 27/10/2006 16:01

Have a good 'un JL!

We have had an offer accepted on the house. That means subject to legal whatsits and survey thingies, I could be a home owner! I know it needs a lot of work, but ooh I'm dreaming of cushions and curtains. DH is probably dreaming of chrome and minimalist nonsense, but he can dream away, we're having cushions and floral things and a squishy sofa and rugs and ooh...

SKYTVMOSTHAUNTEDADDICT · 27/10/2006 16:14

Congrats SOBASH, good news on the house.

Have a nice weekend all.

scootermum · 27/10/2006 20:57

Hi ladies
Yes, congrats SOBASH.lovely-get yourself to Laura Ashley and spend spend spend.(Surprisingly modern florals and prints!Compromise on the mimimilism?)And dont worry about the stress of it-all will be well.We spent a year trying to move last year what with contractual ramblings and things and finally managed to move a month before dd was born.We then HAD to decorate the whole house because I was 'nesting'.My dh dreaded calling home becuase I was on mat leave then and every time he would ring I had been out to buy some other 'essential' item, like some more cushions or silk curtains.I LOVED it!It cost a FORTUNE!
Know what you mean about the house, mortgage, baby thing though. Its all very grown up.I cant match it up with my OC obsession and my fascination with Heat magazine.
Large g and t-so glad to see you back on-was a bit worried about you, but of course you must have been busy with your dh, (or is it dp?).I bet it was lovely to see him!Good luck with your scan-really hope all is well..
Im at my Mum and Dad's now breathing in the lovely Derbyshire country air.And wearing 6 coats as their house is very old and very drafty.Brrr.Feel like Jayne Eyre.Tomorrow will wrap self in a shawl and go for a hike o'er the moors.Or I may just go to Meadowhall in Sheffield and have a little shop instead.(have been obsessed with JE since it was on the telly-bit sad)
Have a good weekend all-will be able to get on for once as parents have internet so might catch up with you all tomorrow if you are on..

pebblemum · 27/10/2006 23:24

Welcome Katybumps, another one added to our long list, July/August must have a very busy couple of months!!
LG&T-welcome back, hope you arent too worn out after seeing dh. Hope the scan went well.

I have a kitchen . Ok there is still a couple of little things that need doing but all my appliances are now in, the cupboards are full and my front room actual resembles a front room again. I do still have a hole in the wall but that will be sorted soon. After 3 long weeks things are getting back to normal, i have never enjoyed housework so much. I spent all afternoon washing windows, scrubbing floors, etc and it was fun (just dont tell dh, dont want him ruining the image he has of me sat at home on my arse all day)

While tidying up the front room I found dh's secret stash of Scampi Fry crisps, he knows i like them and told me last night he didnt have any left, well guess what, he hasnt now That will teach him to deny a pregnant woman and its also payback for him being so moody yesterday!! Now do i tell him or shall i just wait to see how long it takes him to notice they are missing?
