Went to the cinema with dh last night. Was nice to do something on our own. We saw 'The Devil Wears Prada'. It was very good, although for some bizarre reason i thought i was going to see ' Last Kiss'. Brain cells!!

I can definately feel the little bean moving around every now and again.

Juicylucythe2nd · 23/10/2006 08:47

Wow - you can already feel movement?? How great.
I went to see the Devil wears Prada last weekend. I thought it was ok, but had been hoping it would be more acerbic and I think they toned it down for the US with the whole moral of the story is... bit. But an entertaining couple of hours none the less.

Have had some slight dark brown spotting when wiping today and last night. Will be 9wks tomorrow and have a scan at the EPU on Wed, so I'm just going to wait and see. Bit panicky, but I think I will be that at least until the 12wk scan.

Hi all. JL, try not to worry (easier said than done I know). Spotting is very common and brown blood is old blood so much less of a concern. I had bleeding at 8wks and a scan at the EPU, everything fine. I am positive that the same will be true of you and your LO. Thinking of you...

Tip of the day: Never smugly congratulate yourself that you have got to 10wks with no morning sickness. It's late, but it's coming... [bleurgh]

Hi all,
Sorry to hear some of you are spotting-Im still getting a bit too-and am really trying not to panic and call EPU every day.But it is scary. And also i've become obsessed with checking..Hope all goes well for everyone..
Had a very busy weekend and now feel half dead.On the bright side the commute into work took only 45 mins instead of the usual 90 due to half term.Lovely.Im all for more school holidays if it means I can have an extra half an hour in bed.(She says selfishly!)

pebblemum · 23/10/2006 11:20

Morning everyone. I still havent had a date for my scan. Everytime the post comes i rush out hoping to find the letter but as yet there has been nothing, plenty of junk mail though Im 10wks now and as i was told i should have the scan between 11-14wks i think i may chase it up if i havent heard anything by the end of the week. Everyone else on here seems to be given a couple of weeks notice before their scan dates so fingers xed i will hear soon.

My neighbour is expecting her first baby on Thursday and she is so desperate, she's fed up and just wants it out. I havent had the heart to tell her that only 5% of 1st babies arrive on time. I bet every little twinge is getting her excited, i know it did me when i was expecting ds2 (he was 8days late and i desperatly wanted him out) We have all that fun to come, i cant wait.

moomimin · 23/10/2006 11:40

I'm sure it was the sex yesterday, Intheseshoes. probably just irritated abit or dislogged some old stuff sorry tmi. but ykwim. Jucylucy, don't worry too much, I'm sure the brown is ok. Not long tl your scan though to put your mind at rest.

Aprilmeadow you could be right, Do you know I reckon I felt bean yesterday too. It was a tiny movement but it is my third and I wonder if you tend to recognise it a bit sooner. It was also exactly where I hear the heartbeat on my doppler so I know it was the right place. Could have been wind though as we had fish and chips for tea sat night, all that grease. urrrr yukkkk! (yummmy she says secretly)

I am panicking about ours, I've just got this scary feeling there is two in there! I have non identicle twin sisters you see, so it is natural for me to panick each time. Apparently it is heridatory passed through MUM the chance to release two eggs at ovulation. Along with the illness this time and not before, the possible early movement. The heartbeat is high out of my pelvis for 10 weeks too I think. And I swear I heard two the other day.

She's nuts, I can hear you all saying, i know but god this pg thing plays tricks with your mind. Two weeks today and all will tell.

Good luck to those of you with scans this week.

Corr I really missed you all this weekend, you have been busy! It's been quiet on here.

glitterkitty · 23/10/2006 11:52

Hi all- good idea with the thread header!

Absolutely obsessed atm, just waiting for my scan on Weds! Cannot think of anything else- pretending to be interested in work is really hard work at the mo...

I havent spotted but I have had some light cramps over the weekend (when I was 12+1)and still feeling stupidly tired. Have BIG bump already- anyone else got one? Im in maternity trs today- they are SO comfortable I'm in heaven...

Hope you get your letter soon pebblemum! Mine arrived 3 wks before- so I'd chase if I was you.

Creena · 23/10/2006 12:14

I'm sooooo jealous of all of you with scans coming up! I still haven't heard anything regarding my 12 week scan yet and I'm getting mighty impatient! I've got my Nuchal scan on 17th November though, but that seems so far away.

Now, I really don't want to tempt fate or anything but when I woke up this morning, I felt ok. Normally, the sickness and nausea kicks in the minute I open my eyes, so it was strange to wake up and not feel that way. Naturally, I then started to worry about not feeling sick. I just wish I could stop worrying!

Hopefully, if this is the MS wearing off (and the bleeding stays away, as it has done all weekend), I'll finally get to act on those super-horny feelings I've been having - I feel like I've had the raging horn for about a month but have been too sick/nauseous/worried about bleeding to do anything about it.

AFTERNOON LADIES, hurrah no ms so far today ,but both DS have got the squirts today uuurrgh, sorry cant spell diarrohea[tho that looks about right]lol.Ive got the booking in clinic later this week ,cant wait as im sure i feel bigger than almost 11weeks. xx

InTheseShoes · 23/10/2006 14:30

Thanks for your calming words. The spotting is still going on, but is also still brown - spoke to my friend who is a gynae nurse this morning, who was very reassuring, but then did that nurse thing of saying " you canring up and get a scan today if you want to". I just feel that with the scan being on Thursday anyway, I may as well wait. She also said that the placenta is forming about now (10 weeks) so that can be some of the blood. There are so many reasons that it's going to be okay, but I am quietly panicking here. Thank God it is half term.

Juicylucythesecond, I am thinking of you, and scootermum.
xxxx

scootermum · 23/10/2006 15:52

And there I was saying to myself 'Im going to just enjoy being pregnant this time and not worry throughout like last time'.Im a nervous wreck and Im only (nearly)10 weeks.
Poor old Mr Scoot got shouted at this morning as he left the landing light on, which eventaully woke dd up,and thus me, whilst he slumbered on.The man would sleep if a train came through the bedroom!Honestly he's no idea whats its like to be this tired. And ive no idea how many times ive said that to him, it must be so dull for him at the moment!
Well I have day off tomorrow as dd's childminders Mum died sadly and its the funeral. So I will speak to you all on Wednesday..
I wonder if I can persuade dd to watch pride and prejudice with me.She is only 10 months however so not very likely is it?Id love just to curl up in front of the telly with a family size bag of maltesers but she most likely has other ideas..o well, soon I will have two and then I will never ever get a minute so cant complain!

Juicylucythe2nd · 23/10/2006 16:29

Intheseshoes - know exactly how you're feeling. One minute I think it's nothing it will be fine, and the very next I'm sure it's the start of m/c.

I'll let you know how my scan goes on Wed and hopefully it'll news that reassures you and scootermum!!

The days just DRAG when you're waiting for a scan though, don't they

jessinwa · 23/10/2006 18:25

hello ladies. so sorry to hear that some of you are having to deal with pregnancy worries. bleeding isn't fair. most of the time it is absolutely nothing but we still worry our little hearts out. i feel for you.
dh gets home the day after tomorrow! i can't wait. remember how i said i am super horny? well, i told dh that and at first he was all excited to get home and then i told him how very horny i am and now i think he is a bit scared. poor guy doesn't know what he is coming home to!
ds and i have had such a great time together lately. he is so much fun right now. he is really growing up. this might be a controversial thing to say on a pregnancy thread but i don't really like babies. they are cute and all but i much prefer children to babies. don't get me wrong, i have had a wonderful time with munch and learned so much about life and myself. and i am a good mama. still, i am excited for him to walk around on his own, ask questions and solve problems for himself. dh feels the same as me. that is why we chose to have our kiddos so close together so that we can blow past this baby phase and move into the travel around with kids phase. i do love nursing though. nothing quite like it.
thanks for putting up with my almost daily journal entries. i have totally been using this as a pregnancy journal. hope you don't mind!

aprilmeadow · 23/10/2006 19:07

Wind.... how cheeky i did think that at first, but i asked the sonographer and she said that it was more than likely the bean.

Sorry that some of you are have bleeding problems. But pretty sure that brown blood is old blood and should be less of a worry. But that is definately easier said than done.

I am in maternity trousers and have been for about 6weeks . I'm sure that an elestic band would hold my regular trousers up, but maternity trousers are just so much more comfy.

I bought some rather fetching maternity bras on Sunday as mine are getting tight - even the bigger size - and wanted one to wear at night. I have a lovely one by Miriam Stoppard at Debenhams.

Good luck with your scans tomorrow redbullbloodandbump and showofhands, just remeber to fill yourself up with plenty of water so that when they press down nice and hard it makes you really want to pee!

MKG · 23/10/2006 19:09

Jessinwa,

I know what you mean about not liking babies. I don't like babies, and I don't like kids. I just like mine.
I did have a milestone with ds the other day. I always try to read to him, and he always crawls away or tries to eat the book. Two days ago he sat on the floor and listened to me, and even laughed at some pictures. I can see my baby disappearing and a little boy emerging and it makes me a little sad.

MKG · 23/10/2006 19:19

I hate my dh. The only food aversion I have is chicken. It was the same with ds. The smell, the though just makes me sick. Well yesterday my dh decided to make tinga which is Mexican dish with chicken mixed to chipotle peppers. I normally like it, but I had to touch the chicken to help him, and the smell of the food got all over the house and on my fingers. I sat there with a pillow over my face, and he said, "What's your problem" I told him that the smell was making me sick and he just told me to go eat my salad in another room.
Instead of being sensitive he acted like a big jerk. Well the downstairs still smells gross. Men are stupid.

jessinwa · 23/10/2006 20:49

mkg, the most shocking thing in your post is that your dh cooks. i can hardly recall what else you said because i am in awe at that fact.
ok, just re-read your post and and i have to agree that smells in the house are the worst. i have to close the bedroom and bathroom doors whenever i cook so that my bed linens and towels don't stink like food. pregnant or not, beds should not smell like beef stew, or chicken tinga.
our boys are about the same age. munch is thirteen months next week. how do you feel about having two kiddos in diapers? scootermum too?

moomimin · 23/10/2006 21:13

Don't forget me too. I have thought about it and have to say that I quickly pushed the thought to the back of my mind. Wondering whether at 4 I can teach ds to change them, lol joking.

Actually it's the potty training bit I'm worried about too. Don't think dd will be ready before but also know it's not a good idea to do it too soon after a new babes, that means she could be in Nappies a lot longer than I would like. I suppose it will all workout in the end.

btw my house stinks of fijitas tonight. yukkk!

Good luck with your scans sofh and redbull&bump, we'll be waiting for news.

moomimin · 23/10/2006 21:14

Just re-read that and it sounds like my 4yr old is still in nappies, lol he's not, I meant teach him to change the babes!

MKG · 23/10/2006 22:20

My dh is a line cook so he doesn't cook that often (doesn't want to bring work home). But he does cook more now because he knows that I just don't have the energy.
At first I was worried about having two in diapers but I'm not anymore. First, my ds is an excellent baby he never cried/cries for a diaper unless it leaks all over. He doesn't cry for food, or a nap. He's always been pretty low maintanence, so I don't worry too much. Second, I told dh that we need to keep cycle of diapers going because once I'm done, I'm done. We'll see though. Dh said that is this one is a boy we'll try right away for a girl . So imagine 3. I need to get a bigger diaper bag though. I hate using one (I use it now mainly for toy transportation) and ds has always been so good I could always just stick a diaper and a bottle in my purse and go. We'll see in June I'll probably be a lunatic. Or may be I'll just cover everything in plastic and let go naked all day.

MKG · 24/10/2006 01:06

Oh another funny thing dh did today. My breasts just started getting harder and sore. I tell him to feel my boobs to see he says, "Oh yes, they're starting to get juicy". Mind you his command of the English language is not the best, I had to share.

Also I was on the thread with the lady that wanted to use alcohol during labor. Did anyone see that? I learned that the recommendations are different in the UK and US, but during labor, are ya kidding me.

jessinwa · 24/10/2006 01:48

sorry moomimin. i still have trouble remembering who has what kiddos and all of that stuff. i just looked at the stats thread to check if there are any others. aprilmeadow and lg&t have little ones right now too. are we all crazy? don't answer that.
mkg, juicy boobies. that is funny. it is true. dh and i call breast milk 'boob juice'.
moomimin, i am worried about potty training too. munch will be nineteen months when his little bro or sis arrives. i hope to get him off of the bottle before new one gets here.
i had a crying in public experience today. munch and i went to my new favorite place, my coffeehouse . it is a great place for kids to play with eachother and cool toys. so munchy and i sat down at the train table to play and as soon as his mommy turned away this little jerk, gabriel, scratched munchy's face and pulled his hair. i was sitting right there! the kid was like a little devil-ninja. i didn't even see it coming. needless to say, munchy screamed and cried. a lot. so i cried. a lot. the other moms were trying to distract me and munch from our cryfest and all i could say was "i'm pregnant". i figured if i was ever in a situation when people would understand my crying it was there, in a group of women with young children. munchy wasn't gabriel's first victim and during the time we were there he scratched and hit at least three other kids. what a little a-hole.
once again, i have filled the form box with words and words and words. one of these days i will offer a short, concise post, i promise!

aprilmeadow · 24/10/2006 08:25

i am thinking of potty training ds in March/April when he will be coming up 2yrs. Nursery will gladly do the potty training thing and we just need to tell them when we want it to start. I figured that if i do it around that time i am going to be less likely to want to go out so it would be quite good timing. Also i dont like the idea of having 2 in nappies! Only down side is, is that my washing machine will be going all day everyday whilst he is training as nursery have said that they need SIX changes of clothes each day!

I bought myself a lovely treat yesterday...... Take That the Ultimate Tour on DVD!! It was great! Made me feel 13/14/15/16 all over again!
