Henrietta - if you're stuck still a lot, ask midwife about compression stockings and to check that you have no other risk factors for clots.

My SPD is severe - needed wheelchair to go out since 28weeks, been mostly sofa bound since that time, unable to drive even my automatic for a couple of months now and past couple of weeks keep being bedbound. I've been given compression stockings and because I had other risk factors for clots too tinzaparin(sp?) injections.

I'm getting through by counting down the days (11) until baby bday.

freneticfox · 31/01/2015 21:19

WhyO - I'm so sorry you're suffering so badly :( - I'm sure I've asked this before, do you have other DCs? I know every pregnancy is different, but if it's likely to happen again, I'd feel better knowing, if that makes sense?

Henrietta - the hospital I was originally with would allow me a section, even with other health factors. In fact, they were adamant I had to give birth how THEY decided, and denied ALL of my maternal requests, and rudely so as well. I switched to a different hosp and have been incredibly overwhelmed by how good they've been.

I've been unable to drive for nearly two weeks now, and going out is now a bit of a rigmarole. Can't see me leaving the house now until we go to hospital for pre-op checks.

I got a really bad SPD on DD, had some physio, wore some kind of belt that the physio gave me, but I couldn't wear it the last month (far too hot for both baby and me, mid July/mid August) and I had to stop physio because I couldn't drive anymore because of the belly...The good thing was that after I had the baby it was magically gone.
This time I made the mistake of completely forgetting about it and on my 26th week I had quite a busy day, was in a rush from the morning until the evening (my mobile counted 12,000 steps) and by the time I took the train back home in the evening I got it back... :( The good thing was that I knew what it was and took it easy after November. Unfortunately this meant that I had to stop body pump, so a bit more on the heavy side at the moment... :(
Still strong on nutella, pancakes and birthday cake though...CakeCakeCakeCake BlushBlush
Today we've had some friends over for lunch, tomorrow too and I'm already exhausted...My friend today could not believe the size of my belly (36+2 today). She had half the belly I have just before she gave birth.
I don't want to start thinking about my stretchmarks...Envy

So for everyone not on the fb site.
Logan was born 5 days early at 3.17 today after my waters broke at 1.10am fri but no proper contractions until 12ish today. All doing fine he just needs monitoring for 12hrs for infection as my waters broke. I'm doing well and had a fab me who saw my panicked face that he was coming so quick and I thought it was all happening again like ds1.
Luckily I got away with a small tear which she managed to stitch herself.
Oh and he's 8lb14.
Memphis how many arnica are you taking for after birth? Still 3?

Grinningcat · 31/01/2015 21:31

Oh I have such bad indigestion and heartburn today. I ate far too much cake yesterday as it was my last day at work. We have been out for a fantastic meal with my SIL and BIL, but it will add to my woes tonight. Still had a good night's sleep last night so I guess it will all average out.

Grinningcat · 31/01/2015 21:32

Congratulations donkir. Fab news.

Honeybird · 31/01/2015 21:48

Congratulations donkir!

Memphisbelly · 31/01/2015 21:59

Donkir congrats again sounds like you had a fab mw! I took 3 for 7 days now dropped to 2. Has your ds1 met him yet?

Purpletoes · 31/01/2015 22:22

Congratulations Donkir. Enjoy the new squish cuddles. GrinGrinGrin

WhyOWhyWouldYou · 31/01/2015 22:25

Donkir congratulations Flowers.

frenetic I have an almost 3yr old DS. I didn't have PGP at all (literally not a twinge) in his pregnancy. However a few months after I had him I had an awful fall down the stairs - broke my coccyx and damaged my pelvis. It took 3months to be able to sit down properly and not perch leaning forward keeping weight off my coccyx. Then probably about a further 1year for me to stop getting pain if I'd stood or sat for too long. I've been told its down to this injury that I'm suffering so bad with PGP in pregnancy.

I have heard that it often gets worse with each pregnancy although there are obviously exceptions to that. I've also been told to reduce chances of it occurring again, you need some good hands on Physio to ensure you're aligned and as strong as possible in the pelvic area after the pregnancy, in plenty of time before any further pregnancy.

I'll be honest I will not have another child because I won't risk another pregnancy like this - DH has had a vasectomy despite our young age (24) to ensure this. DS has suffered too because of my lack of mobility - the guilt I feel for that is enormous.

blankfornames · 31/01/2015 22:42

Congrats Donkir! Well done!!

Long, you can take the Canestan cream to treat thrush but not the pessaries. The lady who gave a breast feeding class I attended, advised that it's important that you try and get rid of thrush before birth as the baby can pass it onto your nipples which can be hard to get rid of. A pharmasist will help you.

longbottom · 31/01/2015 22:49

Thanks for that blank, it seems better but defo still there so will go and get some cream tomorrow. I used a different shower gel so no one to blame but myself!
My friend has really bad SPD, this is her 3rd pregnancy and she's 23 weeks and in agony, safe to say she's not planning any more!

NicLondon1 · 31/01/2015 22:49

Frenetic oh wow sorry to hear about the crutches, but almost there.... So nice to hear everyone's birth stories and baby-bonding stories, feels like there is a definite light at the end of the tunnel

HenriettaTurkey · 31/01/2015 22:51

Yep - I'm certainly not having anymore. I can't go through this again.

By the way...there's an fb group?

tweety89 · 01/02/2015 01:49

Congratulations donkir! :)

Bangonthedoor · 01/02/2015 01:57

Congrats again donkir! Hope all is going well Grin

So I sent DP on the sofa tonight, DD is actually sleeping soundly, I dosed myself up on paracetamol for my cold and still I'm awake?! Angry I really just want one night of sleep to get me through the next couple of weeks!

purpleteapig · 01/02/2015 04:10

Congratulations donkir - great news!

Argh, wide awake again. At least I have the bed to myself - I've been surrounding myself with pillows, which doesn't leave much room for husband so he's decided to decamp to the spare room until baby is here! I've developed a cold too bang - so annoying at this stage.

Minichuch · 01/02/2015 04:44

I'm wide awake too have been for last hour - DH alarm will be going off soon for work - hopefully sleep will come again soon otherwise it's going to be a long day

Giantbabymama · 01/02/2015 06:27

Congrats donkir.

I am now feeling a bit emotional as am now 38+2 and have doc appt tomorrow and I think he's going to want to start thinking about induction because of my blood sugar and BP issues.

I just made the mistake of reading a really scary thread about episiotomies on the childbirth section and I have visions of me screaming in the birth room "don't cut me you effin' psycho!!!!!!" This is my first as you can probably tell.

Must calm down. Must step away from episiotomy threads from now on. He has actually been quite tactful about not bringing up interventions so far as he knows I dumped my previous doc because she started talking c section due to big baby around 28 weeks, just worried he will start piling on the pressure tomorrow and I find it hard to remember to argue my point at appointments and ask questions as there is always so much information to take in and the embarrassment of heaving my huge bulk off the exam table which seems to have been designed for a woman half my size.

I know nobody knows this, but baby was measuring 7lbs 15 at a scan just before 38 weeks, I am controlling glucose with diet and have drugs for BP which seem to be keeping it down. I am nearly 5ft 8 and not fat but not exactly slight (BMI was hovering just over 25 before I got preg) and although I have gained at least 22 kg since getting preg, I have definitely stopped gaining now. Surely it shouldn't be too bad, should it? Surely I should be able to get baby out without being sliced and diced by doctors? :(

I know there's nothing wrong with interventions and am grateful for them as I know i know loads of mums and babies would die or have horrible injuries without them, I am just freaking out. Must calm down takes deep breath.

Cookie1831 · 01/02/2015 06:38

Congrats Donkir!
It's February woohoo I am having a baby this month :)

babysquidge123 · 01/02/2015 06:55

Congrats to all the new babies already born and good lyck to all those waiting!!
I've not contributed anything since about 22/23 weeks (though have read EVERY message and learned & laughed with you guys a lot!) but just thought I'd let you know we had our little boy at midnight last night, 3 weeks early after induction, with gas and air.
I'll post our birth story if anyone's interested in reading it later?

Thanks for all the silent support over the last 37 weeks, you've been invaluable to me! just never felt like I had anything good enough to say until now... we're so so happy he's here and healthy Smile

Bangonthedoor · 01/02/2015 07:43

Ah congrats babysquidge!! Would love to hear birth story when you're ready Smile

I managed about 3 hours solid sleep last night so not all that bad but woken up with such a headache. And huge wet patches in my pj top Blush

sandulacek · 01/02/2015 07:56

Ah congrats donkir & baby

After a busy day yesterday (had my baby shower) I was really knackered and uncomfortable so went to bed at 10...actually always ho to bed that early these days so did really good Smile. Managed to sleep till 6.30 so shouldn't complain. Lazy day on the sofa, maybe some online shopping to check if anything left in the baby events in tesco and asda?

Good tip with the sleep nursing bras as I couldn't get my head around how do they know how big my breasts will get IF I can bf!

PinkyAndTheBump · 01/02/2015 08:00

Re: Arnica

I've got those wee pillules (?) in the purple dispenser. How many a day is it? And do I take them pre-birth?

I'm 39w tomorrow.

donkir · 01/02/2015 08:02

Oh good lord I've had half hr sleep in 24hrs. Baby doesn't seem to want to sleep when all the others sleep so I'd just get him settled then all hell would break loose.
For those yet to have babies ear plugs and eye mask!!!
