And awake. Only up about 4 times. I just wish I could get a few hours straight Sad I'll read the paper and wait for daylight before trying to do anything.

And we finally got snow down here, nothing compared to what keeps falling at my mom's - just a dusting but down here that will be enough to cause road chaos Wink

Hi everyone,

Just checking in to see how everyone is doing. Not envious of those late stage pregnancy symptoms, it's amazing how quickly they disappear though. Good luck to those whose little ones are on the way!!

The girls are both like little dolls, so perfect - I can't quite believe they are ours! They are completely identical with no marks that give them away so I have painted Annies toe nails pink as her middle name is rose. Was no easy task!!

I have been quite teary the last couple of days but think im just a bit overwhelmed and tired. I see pretty much every hour through the night feeding them as I still can't manage them together. My toddler tends to be in at some point too. With having a diagnosis of bipolar 1 I am at real risk of psychosis so have to be mindful of that but so far I think the tears are a pretty normal reaction. I'm terrified of when my husband has got to go back to work but clinging to the idea that once feeding is better established and I can get some sort of routine we wil be ok?! All that aside, I am so in love and lucky to have 4 little beauties!!

Morning allSmile

Welcome to all the newcomers! We're due date buddies littleflump!

Thinking of you donkir and hoping contractions started on their own for you last night.

Lovely to hear from you tonights, it sounds like you're doing brilliantly! I feel like a wimp when i worry about having just the one more!

Last nights sleep was even shittier than night before. DD was up every hour for some reason, DP seemed to fidget more than normal and my throat is killing me...actually counting down the hours between doses of paracetamol.

Sorted a friend of mine to come and do reflexology on Monday evening at my house.

WhyOWhyWouldYou · 31/01/2015 08:07

Lawyer I'd actually recommend just getting a couple of sleep nursing bras to wear in the first couple of weeks. That way cup size doesn't matter and nor does the fact they'll be all over the place size wise initially. Then if bf works out you can get measured, when your size has settled and get some nice nursing bras.

WhyOWhyWouldYou · 31/01/2015 08:12

tonights I'm in awe of you managing two newborns and 2 older DC. Is there a bf support worker who could help you get the hang of feeding two at once, so you can get more sleep? Getting up to feed one is hard enough - don't know how you're managing one, then the other.

tonightsthekindofnight · 31/01/2015 08:48

It's really tough but it's not the same shock to the system having number one is so I have every sympathy with the anxieties of first timers.

There are a few local bf support groups so that might not be a bad idea. I fed my first two for 12 months each and would happily get my wabs out and do it anywhere but was very discreet. The thought of trying to latch on two at a time in front of anyone is a bit too embarrassing for me!!

GeekyHybrid · 31/01/2015 08:59

Great to hear from you tonights. Sounds like you're doing brilliantly and thanks for the reassurance about late pregnancy symptoms going quickly, I'm holding on to that!

bang and littleflump I think I'm due same day too (6th!) but I'll be happy if it's tomorrow! !

Really must get moving, only enough milk for 1 more cuppa and no marge for toast so 2nd breakfast will just have to be after shopping Blush

Morning all, had a couple of hours of sofa sleep due to cough/runny nose but thankfully i think this is a 'normal' cold rather than a pregnancy one (the other two I had put me in bed for days! ) so nothing too debilitating!

Welcome all you new peeps, I'll do some spreadsheet updating in a bit

Tonights, that's so sweet about the toenails- can't believe your girls are so identical!

Really need to make some decisions on the feeding front- people keep asking and I still haven't got a clue!

Memphisbelly · 31/01/2015 09:12

Tonights you sound like you are doing amazingly well. I understand looking for symptoms as I had pnd first time round. These firdt few weeks are emotional, i am finding it hard enough fitting one into our lives!

Lawyered I agree about a sleep feeding bra for first week or so, you probably won't want a more structured bra as milk comes in. They say you normally go down a rib size and up 2 cup sizes, as I wasn't bf mine went up 3 cups as I wasn't emptying them.

Donkir hope you are ok.

Taking baby to see my grandad today and we need a food shop the cupboards are bare! Everything ds asks to eat its a no!

longbottom · 31/01/2015 09:37

Ergh, I've woken up with thrush, is it ok to use over the counter stuff in late pregnancy?
I slept ok, usual 4am wake up but managed to get back to sleep.
I've bought sleep bras, can't recommend enough! Ugly but comfy for my giant norks!

donkir · 31/01/2015 09:41

Well I must say I didn't think I'd be able to update that much and that I'd have a baby by now.
Started having contractions last night at 9 but then they all stopped as quickly as they came. At least I managed a half decent nights sleep. Hooked up to monitor this morning and contractions were coming thick and fast but again have stopped so off for a walk. 3 ladies waters broke before me so they're priority. Should be induced later this afternoon if things don't get started some more.

Memphisbelly · 31/01/2015 09:47

Oh no donkir get walking the stairs in the hospital, hope it starts soon

longbottom · 31/01/2015 10:08

Good luck donkir, defo get on the stairs!!

JacktheLab · 31/01/2015 10:13

Morning all,

hello to everyone new :)

little miss has decided she'd prefer to co sleep...after trying her in her moses basket from ten till midnight, I decided to let her come in with us, we all slept until quarter to six. not sure if I'm making a rod for my own back, but i guess her being happy is important as is my sleep!

i'd wait till the baby is here before getting lots of nursing bras, when your milk is in then you'll be more likely to know what cup size you need.

I've just woken up after another hour and a half in bed - apparently she will sleep in there during the day!!!

Hope everyone has a good day, memphis any tips for getting my milk to go away? its hard enough to have to make the decision not to breastfeed without my boobs being constantly rock hard and sore :(

Memphisbelly · 31/01/2015 10:37

Jack don't touch them at all, even the shower water hitting them stimulates the milk production, for one day that they seem at their biggest get your dh to do the lions share of feeding or try and hold her a bit further from the boob. Mine have gone right down but still aren't totally normal still, I wore an underwired bra last night for 2 hours and they went all hard again! Take nurofen too seemed to help me

freneticfox · 31/01/2015 11:42

Good luck Donkir!

Another day on the sofa..
Man, SPD is a ballache. I wouldn't recommend.

Giantbabymama · 31/01/2015 12:47

Blank and Lawyered, You may think the nursing bras are minging but try them on for your other half. Mine couldn't believe they pop open at the front for easy access and wanted to know why all bras aren't made like that. He was like a kid in a sweet shop. Bless him, he may have just been trying to be nice to make me feel better about their frumpy Mothercareness but frankly, I currently weigh more than him and have giant Cankles so I'll take compliments where I can get 'em at the moment.

Littleflump15 · 31/01/2015 14:03

Looks like a few of us due around the same time, I'm sure baby is just teasing me every night I get a new set of twinges/pains/niggles and go to bed thinking best get some rest I might need it! .....then nothing today I am getting no encouraging signs at all hey ho am sure baby will come when good and ready

Bangonthedoor · 31/01/2015 14:41

Good luck donkir!

Katsand · 31/01/2015 15:35

Freneticfox i feel for you.
My first pregnancy I had mild pubic symphysis pain with my second I was I agony. Was crying at night as it was hurting so badly so this time around I was prepared that it would come back even worse but so far so good. I'm 38 +4 today.
For me the good thing was that after birth it was gone straight away so at least you are coming towards the end of it now.

NicLondon1 · 31/01/2015 20:09

Frenetic I've also had bad SPD , did your hospital provide any physio guidance..? I went to quite a good class which really helped with tips on how to best stand up from sitting (clench pelvic floor to warm up muscles & lean forward) and how to turn over in bed (knees together) which is the worst! I've found the main thing is not to be too stationery for too long, nor too active... it sucks though, I can't wait for this weight to be lifted & have my body back!! Am counting the days....

freneticfox · 31/01/2015 20:22

Nic, I had physio and am on crutches. I've got less than two weeks to my ELCS, so it's just getting through the last bit now. It's been particularly hard since about 30w.

Sorry to be gross, but I am SO windy today. It's frightening the cats.

longbottom · 31/01/2015 20:24

I feel sick, got period like belly ache and feel a bit dizzy. What is going on with my body?

Memphisbelly · 31/01/2015 20:33

Long oh no that doesn't sound pleasant at all! Hope it passes soon.

Frenetic home stretch for you until you see your little boy and that hip pain will all be a distant memory.

Since yesterday I feel almost normal again. My boobs today have totally gone down and no lumpiness, bit deflated looking but I know with bust serum and a bit of time they will recover Grin my stitches are all ok and not on a cushion anymore just uncomfy to sit up in bed.

On the wind front I am now not windy....but the baby trumps like a man! (Or his mum while pregnantGrin)

HenriettaTurkey · 31/01/2015 20:37

Frenetic, I've got SPD too - but my hospital don't give ELCS for them, sadly, or I would've given birth 3 weeks ago!! Ah...

I've been on crutches since November, and am largely confined to the sofa, although I try and keep my legs slightly mobile as I know blood clots can be an issue.

We'll get there!
