Aww mum thinking of you, hope it's nothing too serious! Take care today!!

fluffeh I always hear that people get their babies estimates weight wrong so try not to worry if they say it's gonna be a big one, more than likely it will be average!

Feel like poo today, woke up at 3 am to pee, then started getting lots of kicks! Tossed and turned lots then noticed it was 6 am, then hips were aching soooo much til about 9 and I gave up! :(

Fluffeh · 17/02/2015 10:20

Thank you for being so reassuring. I am over thinking and over worrying but I do that with everything!
I'll try not to think about it until after the scan where hopefully they'll predict a nice small one like DD!
Mum - I hope your appointment goes well and they get to the bottom of why your bp is so low x

longestlurkerever · 17/02/2015 10:52

Fluff my dd was 8lb 9oz but her birth was fairly straightforward - much more so than some of my friend with smaller babies - I think it's more to do with what position they're in than the size. I did tear right at the end because she had the cord round her neck and it went from very calm to a bit more of a panic but although it was a second degree tear I barely felt it and it stitched up just fine and I have had no problems since.

Mum please look after yourself and bump. Get help if you need it.

Sunshinesaz86 · 17/02/2015 11:27

Hi Ladies, happy pancake day! cant wait for some tonight.

Just congrats on 30 weeks that is amazing and quite scary how soon its coming round! eeek!!

i hope you're enjoying your hotel kitty

sorry to hear your also suffering plink i hope it eases for you soon!

fluffeh i also cannot give any advice being FTM but hope you get some reassurance at your next appointment.

mum i hope your ok? keep up posted and try and take it easy (i know easier said thatn done) i hope its nothing serious. x

sorry to hear you had a rubbish sleep leanne nothing worse than tossing and turning i have a feeling its only going to get worse the bigger we get and the more we have to pee! I am currently up about 2/3 times a night now god help us further down the line when babies piled on the pounds!

i'm 28 weeks on thursday and got midwife next tuesday i am hoping she can update me on the hoo har/palaver of the closure of my local doctor led maternity unit and am hoping i can choose to go to the other nearest hospital rather than 'wait and see' in the midwife only unit, with it being my first i dont want to have to then travel between 30-40 miles if something goes wrong! there is a big protest this weekend so we will se if they do a u-turn? wont hold my breath though!

MY 2015 mumsnet

Hello all can I join? Dc2 due May 22 in Scotland. Already have a lovely dd 2.5 years old.

Chookford up thread you mentioned being too round to fit under work desk - same for me too! - am scheduled to work to week 38 thiugh Argh...but aiming to maximise time off...

I am going for VBAC if I can. I am a big fan of Hypnobirthing and natural birth. Had EMCS last time due to five day prodormal labour but it was a magical experience nonetheless! And Hypnobirthing helped ensure the five days. Hoping v much for vbac this time.

Titsalina your anecdote re your three year old climbing into the cot was so touching! I am thinking a lot about how to prepare dd too. We have a book 'waiting for baby' which she loves, and baby will bring her a gift and she gets one for baby. But mostly I want to follow the lovely advice in the book Siblings without Rivalry. (By the same lovely people who wrote 'how to talk so kids will listen and listen so kids will talk' - it's wonderful! (I am very into gentle/attachment parenting).

I had dire SPD in first pregnancy and for a year afterwards (!) but thanks to discovering a great private Physio this time round hasn't been as grim.

Am in huge redecoration mode - we moved a few months ago and the house is just chaos in dire need of redecorating (decades old), but we are having to be realistic. If I can get kitchen, living room and master bedroom done by then then I will be grateful!

Anyway well i guess that is my Intro! I wasn't able to read all the thread - anyone else in Scotland? Or maybe vbac-ing? :)

  • ensure five days - endure five days
Threesoundslikealot · 17/02/2015 11:44

Hi everyone. I was wondering why you were all so quiet and you'd fallen off TIO!

Welcome, LuxuryTrifle. There are definitely VBACers on here.

I've just read loads at once so sorry if I don't do names, but:

Mumx3 I hope the doctors are looking after you. That all sounds really unpleasant.

Fluffeh I had a second degree tear with my first, which wasn't that bad really - a bit sore for a couple of days, and then just a 'paper cut' with my second. You hear a lot about the horror stories but I reckon the majority of people I know had no worse than small tears at the most.

None of my kids have had a nursery. When I had DD, we lived in a two bed flat with my stepkids in the other bedroom, and when I had DS, his designated room was basically a box room/dumping ground till he was 8 months old. Now this one will inherit DS's room and he'll move in with DD, but as we may well move well before the baby leaves our room, we're not really thinking that far ahead. So please don't feel guilty about any arrangement you've got!

I'm really sorry to read about all the aches and pains so many of you are having. I am pretty sprightly still, which is a major blessing given how much I'm still hauling the other two around. I am now waiting for the results of my 28 week bloods. I had GD last time round, and so far everything has been normal this time, and if my random blood glucose is fine, then I won't have to worry for the next 12 weeks. So fingers crossed!

mumxof3x · 17/02/2015 11:54

Welcome luxury :)

Thankyou everyone, my sister come an hour ago to help me out, bless her, shes good for a 14yr old lol. Got in bath to try shave my monsterous legs before hospital and ended up having to jump straight back out onto the floor. Ayyy dear. I will let you all know how I go on, if I dont update today, itl prob be because they keep me and ive no net unless in house.

Leanne sorry to hear you had a bad night hope you manage to rest today, ds3 got up at 3.30am and didnt go back til 5 and then other 2 got up half hour later haha x

LinaDee · 17/02/2015 12:27

Hi luxury - I'm in Scotland too and also have a 2.5 year old.
Beginning to suffer the dreaded SPD - goodbye full nights sleep! Have a physio app for next thurs though so hoping they can advise for some relief!

cuphat · 17/02/2015 12:41

Hope everything's ok, mumof3.

Our nursery furniture has arrived, it's just a shame the nursery isn't ready for it to go in! We have a lot to do first; moving stuff around, new carpets, decorating. Should be interesting with DD around. We had a new bathroom put in until the day before my section last time (wasn't expecting an early section and was expecting to have a natural birth two weeks late) - am hoping not to leave anything that late this time!

Chookford · 17/02/2015 12:58

luxury congrats and welcome! Yeah I am def now too big to get under my desk! But leaving in 6wks and cannot wait!!!

mum really hope they get your sorted must be very scary!

just hurrah to the 30wks wow time really is flying!

leanne sorry to hear you are still suffering with aches and pains etc.. Hopefully it will ease soon!

Hope everyone has a lovely pancake day!!

applecore0317 · 17/02/2015 13:43

Welcome Luxury

bump also won't go under my desk and if I change my chair position my back and shoulders really hurt. Got an assessment when I go back to work to sort me a better chair.

Sorry you had a bad nights sleep Leanne hope today goes quickly for you so that you can get some rest

sunshine I now want a strawberry milkshake, may have to make one :)

Sunshinesaz86 · 17/02/2015 14:45

chook i only have 6 weeks left too! the countdown is really on, i will have no idea what to do with myself but i just think ill never get this time back, so will sort house, do lunch with friends download a few good books and generally make the most of it! As our lives wont be the same again!

Apple im also struggling with work office chairs, i am currently floating round offices at the mo so they cant risk assess them all, i had it done in my normal office where i am based and they made a few minor changes but now i just have to deal with the acheness and get up to strech regulary! i hope you get a better chair soon though!

Welcome luxury not in scotland im in north wales! :)

SmileyScooby · 17/02/2015 16:29

Happy Pancake Day all! Looking forward to having some for our tea when DH gets home from work. I think I will be naughty and have golden syrup on one of mine, choc spread on another and then normal lemon and sugar :)

I have spent the day writing lists of things I need to do for work over the half term and have made a start (albeit a slow start!!) but bump is getting in the way of table so am stretching a bit and having to get up and move around a bit too as was getting a numb bum on the dining room chairs - need a swivel chair! My calf muscle is slowly not hurting as much now from the stupid cramp at the weekend - stairs are still painful though!

mum hope consultant has shed some light on BP etc and do take care of yourself x

fluffeh I am FTM but also worried about big baby, have got a check up scan tomorrow for 28 weeks and am hoping that the percentiles haven't gone up...last time at 24 weeks they were all in the high 80-90 percentile and baby was estimated at nearly 2lbs. Am dreading what tomorrow will say...

Leanne Hope the day has gone ok considering the lack of sleep and that you have a decent sleep tonight

Luxury welcome!

Cuphat haven't ordered any furniture yet but am also having to move things around upstairs, sort out getting an extra plug socket put in, carpet and decorating nursery (when it no longer is the dumping zone and all has been sorted!!) so I feel your pain (but i haven't got a LO running around so no quite the same!!)

Just woohoo to 30 weeks! I'm 28 weeks tomorrow, it really is whizzing by at the mo

Sunshine that sounds like a good plan re downloading books etc I am looking forward to watching all the tv series I want to watch on netflix hehe

leanne963 · 17/02/2015 16:46

Aww Thanks everyone for your sympathy, i realised after i posted that i was like '...then i got up at 9' and i bet you were all like '9!?! A chance would be a fine thing' especially with all your dd and ds running around lol! So i will bear in mind in future that lots of you are up bright and early at 6.30am so i shouldn't complain!! :)

sunshine hooray to a fellow 6weeker! I honestly can't wait I'm so uncomfortable in my chair I need to leave now! I have tried lots of different chairs and positions and nothing really helps unfortunately.

Ladies I need to start thinking about prams... What has everyone got/getting?!

Ah that's not cool chook I do understand the uncomfiness so have my sympathy!

On prams I have a silver cross wayfarer nice and light x

leanne963 · 17/02/2015 18:40

I have the Grace Symbio Chook is nice and light and very compact! and a bargain at £180 with Carrycot, but they are only stocked in Babies R Us and you can't buy them else where!

leanne963 · 17/02/2015 18:45

Graco*

Chookford · 17/02/2015 18:59

Thanks ladies, will check all of those out!

leanne963 · 17/02/2015 19:06

It is so funny i am reading about the Graco Symbio online and the main 'con' is the small basket, but that never bothered me, but some people saying it is really nice and light and some people saying it is really bulky and heavy. Just goes to show that it really is about going into the shop and having a good ol play around cause everyone is different! :)

SmileyScooby · 17/02/2015 19:10

I'm also unsure about pushchairs etc, we think we will probably get a maxicosi car seat based on comments from friends who have had others in the past and not been impressed etc so it's a case of deciding which maxicosi car seat and then finding a pushchair that it can be used with (which also has seating suitable from birth for longer walks etc). Was thinking about the maxicosi elea but it is quite expensive!! Also needs to be able to collapse and fit in a smallish 3 door hatchback!

mumxof3x · 17/02/2015 19:32

Im home, not much happened today was just reffered to the heart department for an ecg and 24 hour tape which will happen at somepoint this week x
