Ha ha leanne - DH is also a teacher so have plenty of help! I just have to do everything on short bursts as get out of breath so quickly Smile

I sat in a nursing chair too piglet at Bluewater last weekend and was heaven but far too expensive so ours is coming from kiddicare Wink and arrives Thursday Is going in living room till I need to actually nurse!

applecore0317 · 16/02/2015 09:58

We've got a couple of those ikea chairs with footstalls so going to use one of those, and if it's not suiting might have a look on ebay. They do look really comfy though

Chookford · 16/02/2015 10:23

Morning ladies

Hope everyone is well... I'm suffering with heartburn too now.. Yuck it's most unpleasant! Oh well only 14more weeks to go Wink

kittiker · 16/02/2015 13:01

Still not quite sure how it happened but I got my nipple stuck in a jet in our spa bath this morning. Just for a minute but ouch! I hope this isn't how breastfeeding feels. I don't why pregnancy has made me so accident prone. I'm not usually.

Turquoisetamborine · 16/02/2015 14:41

Kittiker what a bizarre accident! No breastfeeding doesn't feel like that, lol!! Hope you've recovered.
I've just been to ikea and got a Poang chair for nursing in and was surprised how comfy they are. Also got a changing table.
The thing about the baby's nursery is it is also DS's playroom so I'm going to have all this beautiful furniture and bedding etc then the other side of the room is covered in batman imaginext (if you don't know what this is you soon will if you are having a boy). At least it's all set up with shelves etc for when baby starts getting toys. It's not my dream nursery though!

applecore0317 · 16/02/2015 15:01

Owch kitti just catching them on my rings hurts when getting dressed, but that woukd make my eyes water

aww Turquoise could you get a screen to divide the room slightly?

Chookford · 16/02/2015 18:45

Ouch kitti sounds painful and bizarre!! Hope it's healed up now!

Turquoisetamborine · 16/02/2015 19:24

I don't mind really apple I just think it's funny how I was so meticulous about the nursery for my first baby and now things like that go out of the window. I don't think the baby will mind anyway! I'm going to get those wicker baskets from ikea to try to hide some of the toys away. DS also has a lovely bedroom but he has too many toys for just one room!

SmileyScooby · 16/02/2015 19:37

Owwie kittiker bet that hurt!!

Those suffering heartburn mine seems to have eased this past week, but gaviscon seemed to help. Also I limited bread a bit and that helped a bit dunno why though.

My little dude has been moving loads today - think as I've been fairly still on sofa most of the day watching rubbish films with DH I've noticed it more.

Tomorrow will start the mountain of school work as loads to do before go on May leave and am not wanting to have extra to do on top of normal stuff of an evening the following 6 weeks after this week! Scary how close things seem to be getting now!!

LinaDee · 16/02/2015 21:13

Will do mumof3 - it was a bit scary but thanks for all your messages of support ??
Totally sympathise with everyone feeling low/angry - I had a awful weekend that way. Really struggled through.
I think it's harder cos we are becoming physically more tired but we are all still in "keep going" mode!

We're nearly there - not long til we get to meet our little ones - trying hard to focus on that!

leanne963 · 16/02/2015 21:15

Smiley It is crazy isn't it? It will be March in less than two weeks! Ahhh so exciting! I have noticed she is moving lots more recently, i think she is just getting bigger and stronger, which i don't mind at least its a good sign. But i bet i will regret saying that in a few more weeks haha

applecore0317 · 16/02/2015 21:45

only 12 weeks till I am full term... the 38 weeks that is... yes it's going scarily quick in some ways and dragging in others lol

Find it freaky that she may arrive in less than 10 though

new favourite thing. .. frozen yoghurt magnums Grin

longestlurkerever · 16/02/2015 23:02

I am getting dd's new room and current room painted this week. Was going to wait till the summer to move dd as will lose our spare room but starting to think it would be nice to have a nursery to keep the baby's clothes and stuff in even if she isn't sleeping there. We have a sofabed in the study for guests. Wwyd?

Going to get all the baby things out of the loft soon. Dm has offered to take them and sort them for me. Bet they come back ironed!

plinkyplonks · 16/02/2015 23:39

Officially joined the piles club... seriously, seriously massive Blush Biscuit

Fluffeh · 17/02/2015 07:11

Morning!
I'm definitely feeling tired and huge now. I usually wake before 5 but by 11am I'm ready for sleep again, not that I get any DD isn't fond of daytime naps so I don't get one either.
28 weeks today and I have my first growth scan on Thursday. I'm really hoping it doesn't show a huge baby. With it being my first actual labour and vaginal birth I'd like an average sized one. Although I have lots of people telling me the bigger babies are easier to birth, I think I'd worry too much about damage to me and shoulder dystocia (sp?).
Did anyone on here get away without damaging themselves on their last birth? It sounds silly but I'm really doubting my decision to refuse elcs this time because with that at least I'm sure what the damage and recovery is like.
Although I did get my consultant to agree to not using forceps. She said they will probably still talk to me about them if they are needed but they have to respect my wishes so if I still say no they will have to change to a section.
It's keeping me up at night worrying about things that may never happen. Mainly incontinence. As I don't see I worry if I'm incontinent I won't be able to see how cleaned I am afterwards or that I won't even notice and everyone else will.
I know I can't do anything about it before hand and I'm just being weird but it really worries me.

Justyouwaitandsee · 17/02/2015 07:34

Hi Fluffeh
I haven't been through birth before but hope some of the others will come along to reassure you shortly.
What I have found useful, are books which focus on how birth is a natural process your body is capable of and explaining the role of all the different hormones etc for preparing you and your body for birth. I think a lot of the stuff I have read is aimed at people who had a tough experienve the first time or who like you, want a vaginal birth after a c section. Maybe look up some stuff on hypnobirthing or orgasmic birth (not as hippy dippy as it sounds I promise!) I might be naive but it has really helped me understand how the female body is equipped for birthing and labour and it gives lots of exercises to keep you calm in pregnancy and labour.

I am 30 weeks today!! Eeek!!! Can't believe I have got this far, the 2nd trimester seemed to fly by. Whooping Cough vaccination tonight.

KittyVonCatsington · 17/02/2015 07:35

Oh plinky I truly sympathise! Sending a solidarity hug and hoping they bugger off after birth.

Can't help as FTM Fluf but of course you are going to worry Sad I'm sure growth scan will go ok and will be lovely to see Baby again.

Greetings from a plush hotel in Canterbury!!

Chookford · 17/02/2015 07:40

fluff I had no damage apart from a very small graze with my dd, which I did not notice at all, she was an average sized baby at 7lb 14 and she was 8 days overdue.. I was really worried about treating and hints as both my sisters had back to back kids twice and tore needing stitches but I was fine just stayed as calm as I could and listened when my midwife told me not to push and just pant the head out, think that's what helped me.. I'm really hoping for the same sort of experience this time round! As long as you are open to other things you will be fine I'm sure

Chookford · 17/02/2015 07:41

Arghhhh poxy spell check that should read I was worried about tearing and stitches... Forgot to say my growth scans were way off too hey told me to expect a 8.5-9lber and she was 7lb 14!!

Justyouwaitandsee · 17/02/2015 07:46

Haha chook - I was trying to work that out! Wink

Turquoisetamborine · 17/02/2015 08:17

apple I've just looked up magnum frozen yogurt things and that led me to a blog about them which then made me sign up to a degusta box subscription! I'm obsessed with food!

Fluffeh I didn't have a natural birth so can help you. My c-section seemed pretty nice and fluffy compared to a lot of natural births my friends had. Maybe try perenium massage as that's supposed to reduce tearing?

Just congrats on reaching 30 weeks! Time is flying.

applecore0317 · 17/02/2015 08:30

Sorry you are suffering pinky

yey for 30 weeks just

fluff all my friends that have had growth scans and been told thay their baby is massive have ended up having 7lbers.

ha ha turquoise I fear that I am a bad influence on this thread as far as sweet treats go!.

Happy Pancake day by the way Grin .

mumxof3x · 17/02/2015 08:56

Just 30 weeks wow- 10 weeks to go.

I have the consultant today, and ive got a feeling il be kept in hospital. Had a very scary day yesterday and ended up crashed on the floor in the kitchen with a pulse of 150 and blood pressure at 67/35. Had to ring dp because I couldnt stand and he rang an ambulance. Today bp is normal but my pulse has been 170 most of morning and I feel so whoozy.

Fluff- sorry your worrying, if it helps my first baby was on the small side for almost 2wk over, he weighed 6ib 11, I tore really badly (i suspect it was due to how fast it was) my second was said to be same size as my first, he was born 4 days over after a very slow 4 day labour and was stuck for a while, I had ventouse delivery and when head was out they realised it was because he was back to back and he was also 9ib so quite a bit different to ds1 but I only had a small graze thing that needed no stitches. Ds3 was born at 38+0 again a slow labour, pushing a bit longer then ds1 and he was 6ib 13 no stitches needed then either x

Happy pancake day everyone x

applecore0317 · 17/02/2015 09:03

Mum that sounds really scary, glad you have the consultant appt today! Are you in hospital now? Whilst not ideal, if they do keep you in at least you are being looked after and monitored

mumxof3x · 17/02/2015 09:36

No apple, I wouldnt let the ambulance come yesterday, they rang me when dp rang for an ambulance, but I told them I was ok and they didnt need to come....silly I know. But its half term and I had no one for my kids, my sister was with me when it happened but she cant have them as shes only 14 lol. But if they keep me in today dp will be home to have them he will just have to take tommorow off work. Needs sorting now, I cant leave house at mo cause every so often I go funny and all I can do is lay on the floor when it happens x
