apple No, I'm expecting dc3. Ds2 was born 11 and a half years ago and it seems like a lot has changed since then with regards to antenatal care.

kittiker · 15/02/2015 21:01

Oh my God, I'm so weepy today for no reason. I'm sure my husband could start a companion blog to 'Reasons My Son is Crying' all about me in pregnancy. The worst thing is knowing it's irrational but being unable to stop!

Chookford · 15/02/2015 21:15

Evening ladies

lina sorry to hear you are suffering from BH as others have said def mention it to your midwife next appointment.

kitty hooray for the soft poo! (Now that's not something you say everyday!!!)

kitti sorry to hear you are suffering emotionally... I have the odd day of feeling like this I just keep reminding myself it will pass and it's totally normal, although it doesn't help hearing it I know!! Hope you feel better soon

aneesa28 · 15/02/2015 21:19

kitti I can totally relate. DH might look over to see me crying and I will retort defensively, "I'm hormonal, don't look at me!" Comical on hindsight but dammit I just want to cry and I don't know why!

CostaLotta · 15/02/2015 21:21

I'm joining the i comfy at night club too. I have a dream genie pillow, I can't decide if it annoys me or helps! Leg cramps, ouch, had them bad with my last pregnancy but touch wood not this time yet.

lina glad things have settled.

turquoise that must have been awful for your mum, lovely of her to treat you and baby.

Advice ladies? I've just got home from work and taken my tights off and my feet are really swollen. I've done 12 hour shifts yesterday and today so think it's likely to be just that but does anyone else have this?

CostaLotta · 15/02/2015 21:24

kitty emotional pregnant lady here too. Can cry over anything and frequently do!

One more thing... Hip pain. I know some of you ladies are suffering. My right hip is bloody sore for last few days, especially first thing in the morning. When I walk on it I feel like I need to limp, it feels like it's cracking/ straining. Is that how everyone else is feeling?

Turquoisetamborine · 15/02/2015 21:32

Kittiker I've just had a good cry about some family stuff too. My brother's girlfriend has taken a liking to my 2 yr old niece and is taking her out and buying her presents and posting on Facebook how cute she is but didn't even say hello to my DS yesterday.
I know he's 7 but he's still a person and she's really hurt me blatantly ignoring him when he is ace and so funny and kind. God I'm crying again now. I just hope she doesn't think I'll be nice to her when I have a cute baby. She doesn't like boys anyway so doubt she will be interested. By the way this girl is a teacher!
Sorry for the rant. I said I was emotional!

Turquoise, that's totally reasonable. Last week, I cried because I couldn't get my chips to go brown enough!

aneesa28 · 15/02/2015 21:47

Costa I went to visit a close relative in hospital recently and I was sitting in a chair near her hospital bed, feeling my legs and hands swelling up as the time went on, fingers literally turned into little pink sausages. Spoke to the gp the day after, bp was fine he just said to keep my feet up. I had been sitting in the chair for an hour or so, but I have a desk job and ensure I get up and walk around every coupe of hours and try to keep my feet raised to prevent it happening again.

applecore0317 · 15/02/2015 21:49

have done well on the crying front this week, good going giving that earlier in the week I sobbed because I hit my elbow... not even that hard

I have been in a bitch of a mood all day though. Can't get rid of this indigestion feeling and its making me feel really uncomfortable. Have only been able to graze today, feels like my bump has got higher and is squashing my stomach, doubt that's the case though.

aneesa28 · 15/02/2015 21:50

*feet, not legs!

*couple, not coupe!

Wish this forum allowed post editing!

applecore0317 · 15/02/2015 21:50

oh I read somewhere costa that as you're nearing the first trimester its good to elevate your feet where possible, on breaks and in the evenings

leanne963 · 15/02/2015 22:11

Yay on soft poo Kitty

Sorry to hear everyone is feeling down at the mo :( I haven't had any crying but just annoyance and anger. Just got off the phone with a friend who was saying that she was feeling broody but when she mentioned it to our younger friends(more hers that mine) they were saying 'why would you want to have a baby, your life is over then!!!'

It REALLY REALLY pisses me off when people say that having kids mean your life is over. They are usually people who get pissed every night and see their achievement as whether or not they get a hang over. I'm sorry but to me being a mum is the most exciting thing in the world and I feel like my life is just beginning. Eurgh. Sorry, I needed to rant.

aneesa28 · 15/02/2015 22:43

leanne I hear you. When I had my first two I didn't feel like life was over in the least and I certainly didn't let babies stop me from doing the things I wanted. Strap on the baby carrier/sling and off you go! I didn't have a car then so whether it was ikea shopping by train or shows and gigs, the key was be prepared and pack accordingly.

KittyVonCatsington · 16/02/2015 07:31

Hope everyone is feeling a little better this morning!

This week is Operation Get House Ready as being Half Term and not the size of a house yet, is the perfect time to get rid of spare bed/desks etc. to the dump and make way for baby furniture!!!! Also going to get delivered a nursing chair and to be honest, am looking forward to sitting in it now Wink

d0ttyne11 · 16/02/2015 08:20

Enjoy half term all of you who have a little time off to rest & nest Smile

I've been quietly following this thread through the last 2 weeks. It is ups and downs isn't it?

I've had first spells or horrid heartburn in the evenings (so have taken preventative measures and got some ice cream in!) my back is also quite achy. Lower back and left shoulder area. Especially at night.

I also found that I was tearful, narky, huffy on loop over the weekend. My poor DH had to put up with the lot! Think I'm just overthinking things at the mo! Hmm

Managed to smash a jar of oil by the fridge last night then slip in it (!!) which did not help matters.... But did get a grip at one point and finally go swimming to try and exercise and get some more wear out that maternity tankini I got for Christmas! It's so true that it's a pain and a palaver before you go but you feel better afterwards. Has made me think about going more too when the baby comes... Plus slept better as a result I think so all worth the hassle!

On that cheerful note, happy Monday everyone x

kitty Woohoo for soft poo! My plan is similar to yours re half term but also with marking and planning thrown in as well but hubby is home today so think we are having a pj day today.

leanne I know what you mean, we've got some friends who are without kids/not expecting and they are similar. They are the same age as us (early 30s) but some still live at home with their parents so haven't really grown up! I can't wait to be a mummy (but at the same time am terrified that I am going to be responsible for this little dude!!)

Hope everyone has a tear free day today :)

mumxof3x · 16/02/2015 08:30

Leanne, totally get that...only one of my friends has kids, the rest dont and they go away alot and go out when they want and thats how they like it which is fair. My life is totally different, but it really is the the most wonderful thing ever, if i had a night out with friends before concieving this baby id end up going home after an hour as I just dont enjoy it any more, id prefer a meal out with dp or something.

Lina- mention it to midwife, I had very similar for 3 hour last night although they were regular every 2 mins, they started off lasting 30 secs then went upto 40 secs an then they were lasting a full minute and painful going all into my lower back...i started getting them on and off like this 4 week before I went into labour with ds3, I have the consultant tommorow and I am going to mention it because I dont like how regular they were for this many weeks.

I think I may have to try that with the prunes apple, I go every couple of days but its hard to go these days.

Hope everyone had a good weekend x

piglet81 · 16/02/2015 09:09

Happy Monday everyone. Hope it's a good week for us all. It's so reassuring to hear about all the different symptoms people have been having - makes me feel better and that the niggles are just par for the course. Have noticed my bump getting quite tight and weirdly shaped from time to time - sounds similar to some of you.

Midwife appointment this morning (28+5) then off to work. Feeling the need to write lots of lists of things to sort out work/house/babywise!

Kitty, I'm envious of your nursing chair - I sat in one in John Lewis recently and it was heaven! Don't think we have space for one so the trusty old Ikea Poang will have to do ??

leanne963 · 16/02/2015 09:37

I am NEVER saying anything about this pregnancy again as I am jinxing myself! Lol

Talking so my also pregnanct sister in law yesterday and I mentioned I have had no heartburn and that the baby is really quite when I am sleeping and has never woke me up.....

5.30 this morning she decides to learn how to break dance and my stomach is getting pulled in both directions and now I have terrible heartburn and feel like my chest is gassy and horrible. I deserve it though I shouldn't have boasted lol.

mum , smiley , aneesa thank you! I just can't bear to have someone tell me my life is over! Eurgh!!!

Kitty sounds like a busy day I wanna make you a cuppa tea just for even contemplating doing all that ha!!!

applecore0317 · 16/02/2015 09:41

Happy Half term to those who have one :)

another week of rest... my brother has got loads of things for me to watch and is dropping them over today :)

next appointment on Wednesday

mum hope the consultant appointment goes well tomorrow and they can figure out whats going on

leanne we're lucky as my friends that haven't got kids are broody, and then my young friends at work will joke about it but I generally give as good as I get :)

Dot glad you didn't go flying in that oil!
