longestlurkerever · 14/02/2015 17:09

That's so sad about your sister, turquoise. Your poor dm.

Chookford · 14/02/2015 17:48

Chookford · 14/02/2015 17:50

Rubbish *sorry to hear your pain levels are up!

Happy valentines everyone... Hubby is cooking me my fav dinner tonight and I have a small glass of prosecco waiting for me with some peach juice! Wink

Lying awake absolutely freaking out - have pains coming and going that feel suspiciously like contractions. This has been since half 1 and it's now 4 - taken some paracetamol but it doesn't seem to be getting any better. Hope this is just a bout of braxton hicks. How long should I give it before I call mw??? Don't want to seem paranoid!!

applecore0317 · 15/02/2015 05:48

I'd ring or go down to the hospital lina better to do that and put your mind at ease than be at home worrying. There should be a number for maternity triage on the front of your maternity notes.

FeelingBlessed77 · 15/02/2015 07:12

Hope everything is ok lina.

Blondie87 · 15/02/2015 07:31

Hope everything is ok Lina. Always best to get checked out if you're worried for peace of mind at least xx

LinaDee · 15/02/2015 07:56

Thanks Blondie, Apple and blessed for your messages. It all settled down soon after I posted and I've managed to get some sleep.
I downloaded a contraction timer and there was no pattern whatsoever so just bad braxton hicks I think. Baby still moving about as normal too so my mind is at ease for now.

Turquoisetamborine · 15/02/2015 08:18

How scary Lina, when do you have another midwife appointment? I would mention it then.

We had a valentines night at our friends house last night with the M&S dine in deal as friend is not much of a cook. Had the Camembert which was cooked thoroughly so not bothered about it being banned then steak then choc soufflé. I had a small glass of rose champagne too which was delicious. Hope you all had a nice valentines night.

KittyVonCatsington · 15/02/2015 08:24

As long as there is no pattern Lina then def BH-as soon as they are regular/timed, call someone! I've had them every few days but not for as long a time. We're just getting ready for B-Day Grin

TMI rant - I just want to poo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

applecore0317 · 15/02/2015 08:30

pleased you're ok Lina

We treated ourselves to fish and chips from the chippy. NEVER again!!! I have been awake most of the night with horrible indigestion :(

kitty so I have a new thing, 8 prunes, remove the stones, then put them in a pan with some water and leave on a medium heat for ten mins, then take the prunes out and blend, and add watee once blended to make the consistency to what you want them and drink half in the morning and half before bed. Has really helped with my constipation. Works much better than just blending them into a juice.

If I just eat prunes normally they make me gag and just give me bad wind Blush fbut for some reason they suit me better this way :)

LinaDee · 15/02/2015 08:37

Next midwife app is in 2 weeks or so. I had one on Wednesday along with. Growth scan but consultant wants to see me again at the start of march.
I will definitely be mentioning it!!

Kitty - it's not the most appetising thing in the world, but a bowl of bran flakes for breakfast every day has sorted me out in that area!!

SmileyScooby · 15/02/2015 09:38

Glad to hear you are ok Lina must be scary!

Kitty I'm also suffering again here with that area!!

My calf still tight/sore on and off following the cramp friday night/Saturday morning, hope it eases. Have got blood being taken tomorrow by the nurse at gp surgery for blood test so results are ready for mw appointment later in week so am going to ask/mention it.

Anyone else got dark hairy belly? I've also noticed between my boobs are hairy and dark too!!!

bradders85 · 15/02/2015 09:58

Pleased you had a nice time in Bath Tori but hope pains ease soon. Hope your ok too Lina and like you say mention it next time you see mw. I'm not sure if I have really noticed BH or not.....I suppose I have noticed if my bump has gone hard but it hasn't bothered me or caused pain.....is this BH?

We are off to Shrewsbury today for 2 nights away so I am looking forward to that. Will see how my leg does though with all the walking.....thinking it's a good excuse to take regular stops at cafes/cake shops!!! :)

Enjoy your day ladies!

KittyVonCatsington · 15/02/2015 10:29

Thanks ladies-nice to know am not alone and apple I have dried prunes-will that work?

Smiley I was hobbling about school last week looking like a 40 weeker but in fact was my right calf that just hurt to walk in Grin it eased up in two days (to happen again yesterday morning!)

BH can manifest in many different ways and mild tummy 'hardnings' can def be BH. Seemed to start at 26+ weeks for me like that, am 29 weeks today and might get them a few times a day but certainly no pattern.

Enjoy Shrewsbury bradders is v pretty. DH is taking me to a hotel in Canterbury tomorrow to make up for bailing this weekend with a sailing trip with his Dad-can't wait!!!!!!

applecore0317 · 15/02/2015 10:48

would need to be tinmed prunes if you are going to cook them

aneesa28 · 15/02/2015 17:45

Lurking on this thread for the past few days, it's peppered with highs and lows, an emotional rollercoaster yet a great source of comfort knowing that we can share our experience with others in the same boat.

I have a minor question, don't think it warrants a new thread. I had my 28w appointment last week and mw asked me to see her again in four weeks. But according to the maternity notes the next appointment should be at 34w, not 32. Has anyone else experienced this/cause for worry? I don't like to make much ado about nothing but it's playing at the back of my mind iykwim. I measured 27w at 28.

leanne963 · 15/02/2015 17:55

Heya Aneesa My MW appointments are every 3 weeks after my 25 week appointment and i think that is pretty normal :D

aneesa28 · 15/02/2015 18:01

Hmm ok, thanks! So far I've only had appointments per the schedule in the notes. So last week was the first time I saw the local mw since 16w!

applecore0317 · 15/02/2015 18:09

Aneesa are you a first time Mum? first timers get more regular appointments after 28 weeks than those who have had babies before

KittyVonCatsington · 15/02/2015 18:24

Hi aneesa !! Yep-appointments every 4 weeks and I too have one at 32 weeks. Nothing to worry about Grin

apple -I tried your prune thing and had diarrhoea for the first time in 7 months-absolute bliss! No pain, piles or bleeding Grin thank you!!!!!!

Turquoisetamborine · 15/02/2015 18:27

Kitty I love it how you're thanking Apple for giving you diarrhoea!
