Turqouise so pleased you haven't had further bleeding, must have been so awful for you! Hope you have got a good amount of time off to recover

inthewoods4 · 10/02/2015 10:31

HI ladies, I've not posted for ages... but have been reading all the posts!
Just wondering if anyone else has noticed a change of mood recently? I'm 27 weeks and these past few days I've woken feeling really grumpy, apathetic and just a bit meh! I know this is normal, but I it's horrible! I wonder if appraoching the third trimester there is a surge in hormones maybe?

mumxof3x · 10/02/2015 10:53

Cat, if you turn the upper and lower lip up, there is a peice of skin there looks a little bit like the the one under the tounge, my sons upper lip the skin attaches from the lip right through the middle of his top 2 teeth, he will probably always have a gap between his teeth as its grown through them. Around in my area they will not snip the ties now unless it affects speech, as they say over time they do tend to stretch. So far though his speech is coming along as it should be. It was just his feeding from breast that was affected.

Turquoise, how scary. Hope you are ok x

leanne963 · 10/02/2015 11:05

Oh turquoise it was someone else that asked about boobs changing during BF it never even crossed my mind!

leanne963 · 10/02/2015 11:06

turquoise sorry posted too soon, omg that sounds terrifying glad everything is ok!!

Chookford · 10/02/2015 11:07

Turquoise thats sounds so scary, glad to hear all is ok with baby though and you are now resting up!

inthe yes I am generally feeling more like this, normally I am really easy going and things dont usually bother me but lately everything is turning into a big thing and i feel like just sulking for days! ha it will pass dont worry!

Blondie pregnancy and bf did effect my boobs they do not sit where they used to and are not as full, but that is what comes from growing and feeding a person.. I did go up to an I cup breastfeeding though so i expected some damage!!

Mslad I used a birthing ball last time, regularly from about 36weeks and used it in labour too.. it helped me Im sure that is what made her come down nice and low so there was not as much pushing required, but then again i may have just been really lucky and that would have happened anyway, I will be using one again this time though just incase! Grin

Titsalinabumsquash · 10/02/2015 11:16

I'm here for a rant AngryBlushSad well not really because no one has done anything wrong but I'm feeling a little deflated, all my long term friends have started an extreme gym/diet and are all looking fab, they're broadcasting it across Facebook several times a day! and I'm getting fatter and less mobile by the day.

The logical part of me thinks good for them! I'll naturally never be anything other than cheerful and encouraging when in conversation with them, I know I can lose weight when the baby is here, I know I can stop eating crap, sadly I'm not feeling all that logical atm, I'm feeling hugely hormonal and deflated and frustrated all at once.

I have an urge to clean and sort things (not unusual for me in pregnancy) but I'm tired and achey, I think I need a minion or several Grin

shinyhappyone · 10/02/2015 11:56

Tits, at the end of their extreme diet/gym thing all they have to show for it is the slow descent back in to the world of weight gain (as is inevitable with all these diets and gym things). At the end of your experience you are going to have a BABY!!! We have the rest of our lives to go back to crash diets, unused gym memberships and days of feeling good vs days of feeling crap. Lets enjoy the getting fat for a reason, the babies in our tummies and the fact that within weeks we get to hold them. Also, if it makes you better, you're going to lose way more weight in one day than they will over a whole month when sproglet drops!
Sending positive vibes xx

Turquoise, I can't imagine having to go through that. I'm so pleased things are better with you. Hopefully that was your bad bit for the pregnancy and from now on things will be straightforward xx

applecore0317 · 10/02/2015 12:22

Ah Tits try not to let it get to you, I know it's hard. I miss going to the gym, had to give in and freeze my membership last week, but knowing that I will have a daughter at the end of this makes it all worth while :)

Did anyone's appetite increase at this stage? am 25 weeks tomorrow and seem to have a slight increase in that, I could graze all day

Titsalinabumsquash · 10/02/2015 12:23

Thanks Shiny Smile I'm usually able to smile and nod with these things, I am completely blaming hormones Grin

I'm currently shuffling around my house with a bin bag just loading it up with stuff I don't want/need anymore.
Late I'm going to go all Jack Munroe and use my sad vegetables to make pesto for the freezer.

I'm awaiting news from my sister, she's due her 4th baby any day now, she's getting very fed up with being pregnant, her H sends her an hourly 'any sign yet?!' Text followed by a Angry and 'hurry up!' I've told her to reply next time with a sarcastic 'oh yes dear I birthed her in the last hour, I forgot to say...' Grin

Hi all, I'm late to the party but EDD 5th May. The 1st trimester was overwhelming/emotional/painfully slow, the 2nd has flown by and I get the feeling the 3rd will be frustratingly slow (although 12 weeks doesn't seem like such a long time). DS1 & 2 were three weeks and one week early respectively, and I'm hoping for an early arrival with DC3 so that I can spend more time with him before going back to work.

applecore0317 · 10/02/2015 12:35

Hi Annesa welcome to the thread :) I reckon for those of you that are due early May that the 12 weeks will fly by, just simply because I remember the wait up until the 12 week and 20 week scan going scarily quick :)

Tits that's exciting that you and your sister will have babies not far off in age :)

I've just eaten a double decker, the only reason I am informing you of this, is because I don't think I have had one in more than 10 years, and now feel like I have missed out on a lot of Double Deckers, because they are YUM!

Chookford · 10/02/2015 12:35

hi and welcome aneesa

Tits as others have said the good intentions of gyming/diesting will slip and fade away as time goes on it always does, your baby will be the reminder of the amazing thing your body did forever! beats having ripped abs in my opinion! Grin

aneesa28 · 10/02/2015 12:37

tits I can totally relate to your post. I have distanced myself from FB for precisely that reason and find that out of sight out of mind (to some degree)! I can't think about weight loss after giving birth because I tend to start off with determined optimism and a purposeful plan of action, followed by calculating how much weight I would ideally need to lose in the time that I have before going back to work (mentally exhausting desk job, major setback) and then coming round full circle back to the deflated sense of impending defeat. They started a weight loss club at work in the new year, and my colleagues have joked that I should join just before going on maternity leave... ha.

Chookford · 10/02/2015 12:37

Apple high five for the double decker... i love those! I had a wisper the other day and forgot how good they are! My new fav at the moment though is dairy milk with Daim in it... they really are quite special! I have finished off a family size bar more than once Blush

applecore0317 · 10/02/2015 12:46

ha ha chookfood with me it is anything Cadburys. Have gone right of Galaxy, Nestle, Lindt etc they all taste funny

I nipped into Sainsburys last night to get a birthday card for my friend and somehow managed to buy a medium sized bag of mini eggs and munched through them by the time I got home, apart from two that DH managed to get his hands on :D

I'm glad we are all popping in the summer, hoping it will be a good excuse to be able to get out for lots of walks

aberjen · 10/02/2015 12:51

I have bought custard-filled donuts for the whole office today as it made me feel less greedy than if I bought them for myself. My reasoning is, they won't all get eaten, so I can eat more than one, but I will be doing so to be selfless and to ensure they aren't wasted, and definitely not because I could cheerfully eat the lot in one sitting.

Am also randomly moody and hormonal. And the project manager I work closely with, who I love to pieces and get on brilliantly with and refer to as my 'work mum', is going through the menopause, so we keep accidentally winding each other up, me by being much more scatty and oversensitive than normal, and she by being much less patient and more grumpy than normal! The joys Grin

Welcome aneesa

leanne963 · 10/02/2015 13:03

apple Double deckers are my go to chocolate bar! Love them!

Feeling really emotional today just want to cry, it's just loads of really little trivial pathetic things but I am just feeling so crap. DP is being amazing and had bought his laptop down to work next to me on the sofa cause I just want snuggles. I don't know what ide do without him. I just worry, I really don't want my depression to come back :(

Titsalinabumsquash · 10/02/2015 13:27

I'm the same Leanne Sad

I had such bad depression after DS3 I am terrified it might come back, then all this talk of ladies wishing their partners away after birth on the paternal leave thread makes me a bit sad, I wouldn't have coped with out DP being around, it's sad but true!

I hope some cuddles with your other half cheer you up a bit and make you feel a bit happier. I think we're all a bit emotional atm. Thanks

leanne963 · 10/02/2015 14:03

I am so lucky tits that my partner works from home and he is amazing as he is such a positive person. I have suffered from depression since i was 12 and it comes and goes, but i just feel like everything is getting to me today. How did you get over the depression? Was it something that just needed time? Thank you :) Cuddles with him make me feel a million times better!

Titsalinabumsquash · 10/02/2015 14:46

I think it just got better by itself after a good year of suffering, I do see a counsellor every week though which really helps.

DP had 4 months off after ds3 was born and then purposely took a much lower paying job very close to home rather than the jobs that need a 3hr commute + international travel.
He's still there now, although he's got a promotion since but he still earns way below what he should be because of location, he also had written into his contract that u dee no circumstances would be working away from home overnight, he did that for me which makes me love him all the more. Smile

OP posts:
leanne963 · 10/02/2015 15:03

Awwww he sounds like a good'n!!! That is so lovely! I have asked my partner whether he is ok with the struggle of supporting a family and he has assured me everything will be fine, plus we have alot of savings so are very lucky.
He could earn more too if he went and worked for a graphic design company instead of setting up his own company but he loves the flexibility and as a couple we enjoy the little things in life like going for a walk with our dog or seeing family over expensive holidays and cars!
It is great to have such a supportive partner especially when i have heard some horrible stories on the pregnancy forum of women being treated so badly, i really appreciate him!

longestlurkerever · 10/02/2015 15:10

Leanne I didn't really notice any long-term change to my boobs from feeding either, though they're on the small side so maybe didn't get that heavy. BFing helped me massively with the weight loss - I was lighter at the end than pre-pregnancy.

While I was feeding they were a bit of a no-go area for dh though - otherwise they leaked milk in a not very sexy way. I think that got better as time went on though. I stopped having to wear pads etc after the first few weeks.

leanne963 · 10/02/2015 15:20

longest I think someone elses comment has been mistaken for something i have said haha! I didn't mention about my boobs changing or about being worried about my boobs changing lol But my boobs actually haven't got any bigger, i was expecting some big growth hearing about people going up a cup size a month or something but i am still in my same bras ha!! My boobs are also leaking a tiny teeny amount of fluid, only when i prod them though ha

Justyouwaitandsee · 10/02/2015 15:30

Hey everyone - sending hugs to everyone feeling emotional! I have taken the day off today as I couldn't bear the thought of enough day trying to work from home whilst surrounded by builders!

I have had a very productive day of online baby shopping though. Bought a maxi cosi car seat, a bednest, bedding set and a Boba Wrap. Makes it all feel much more real!! Smile
