Ooooh sounds like a good shop Just We bought a maxi cosi car seat from a friend who only used hers for about 6 months so was pretty much brand new! :D Its lovely buying baby things isn't it!?

Justyouwaitandsee · 10/02/2015 16:00

It really is! Well done on your second hand find! Most of our friends have already passed stuff on to others or are holding on to things in preparation for another baby, so haven't managed to acquire much unfortunately. However, family have been very generous and very keen to help us out with the big purchases which is so helpful.

Have also been trying to hold off on the purchases during the earlier days and whilst all the building work has been going on, so feels good to finally get started. Trying to be sensible and not go overboard, so I think we have the main essentials - buggy, car seat, cot and sling. Am sure we will be inundated with clothes, but would like to buy a little coming home outfit when me and DH get some time to look together!

leanne963 · 10/02/2015 16:31

Oooh what sling did you get?! I really want one but want to make sure it is breathable in summer! Don't want the little one to over heat! Family have really been a lifesaver, we have only had to put half of the money towards the nursery furniture, everything else has been paid for by family! So so lucky!!
I think we are all done now tbh, her little nursery is all ready just awaiting her arrival!! So impatient ha!

Justyouwaitandsee · 10/02/2015 16:53

I bought a boba - seems like a cosy, comfy wrap to start off with and not too expensive!

Ooh just had a guy come round to quote on some more building work, and he hadn't told me he was dead. Had to communicate h

Justyouwaitandsee · 10/02/2015 16:55

Gah! Trying to correct the stupid autocorrect and it goes and posts instead!!!

He hadn't told me he was *deaf! Had to communicate through lip reading, picture drawing, hand gestures and at some points, mime!

leanne963 · 10/02/2015 17:17

Oh my, i was thinking am i reading this correctly!?!?! A dead man came over to your house to quote building work?! haha! Aw Bless, i would love to learn sign language, i worked in retail and it would have come in handy many times!!

Justyouwaitandsee · 10/02/2015 17:28

Haha! I wish I could too. I can a little but mainly finger spelling which would make for a very long and drawn out conversation! A family friend is deaf and signs but her lip reading Is excellent so we never really needed it...

kittiker · 10/02/2015 17:48

I know, Leanne. I'm a total bloody oaf just now. I bit down on my fork! I don't know why I eat with such force - I once bit through my own tongue eating a Fry's Turkish Delight.

Mmm, turkish delight. Want one now.

leanne963 · 10/02/2015 17:53

I don't think i have ate a Turkish delight in like 20 years but i really want one now haha!! I can understand the eating with force thing though, we are hungry women!!!

inthewoods4 · 10/02/2015 18:07

Tits and Leanne, I'm the same. I had horrible pnd after my dd so every time I feel slightly low I get scared it's all coming back! X

Titsalinabumsquash · 10/02/2015 18:13

Turkish Delight is gross I'm all about a Creme egg or ten Grin

Sorry Leanne I started it thinking it was you worried about your boobs changing! This is why I like the Facebook group. Much easier to follow a thread.

I've just been with my SIL and her two kids this afternoon while DS was at school. Her youngest is 4 months and she says she makes up six tubs of powder everyday for his feeds then has six bottles of water and just mixes them in when he needs fed. I don't know if this is right but she has done it with both of hers. I think I would get one of those Perfect Prep machines if I was going to FF. They look really good.

Sorry to hear of a few of you suffering from depression. It must be very hard to deal with. I watch Place in the Sun when I feel down. Silly but works for me.

Welcome Aneesa do you know what you are having?

Tits try not to worry about what others look like at the moment. When I waited three long years to get pregnant again I would have put on twenty stone to swap places with the curvy pregnant women I used to envy. I'm relishing every moment of my bump now, I absolutely love it and I'll deal with the weight loss later. No hurry as this will be my last baby.

Chookford · 10/02/2015 18:22

Good call tits creme eggs... Yum yum

Chookford · 10/02/2015 18:29

turquoise this is what I did with my dd, made up the water and powder and just left them and just mixed them when bottle was needed but now they are saying that there can be bacteria in the powder, so you shouldn't use anything but boiling water so that's why the perfect prep is so good as the hot shot of water kills off any bacteria that may be in there, then tops up the bottle with cold water to make it the right temp in 2 mins without you having to mess about trying to get it right temp yourself at 3am etc.., I'm getting a prep just incase I ff straight away as they sound ideal!

shinyhappyone · 10/02/2015 18:41

Yum to a chocolate mentioned. Apart from Turkish delight. Turkish delight is yuck!
Very much enjoyed the story of the dead man coming to quote for building work teehee Wink

kittiker · 10/02/2015 18:42

Ohh, creme eggs. Wonder if DH will go to the shop? I've also been fancying a peanut butter kitkat since yesterday.

Scottishgal78 · 10/02/2015 18:52

I have to say on the topic of friends on diets - I am finding not being on a diet for the first time in about 10 years so liberating! Lovin it!

Fluffeh · 10/02/2015 19:02

Eek the new cream eggs are so wrong. I could cry with sadness just about how ruined they are now.
I'm dreading what Easter egg to ask dp for haha.
I have no personal experience of pnd but my sister had it with her middle dd and it was so hard for her. She's fine now and was fine with her last dd too, thankfully the pnd didn't return for her and hopefully it'll be the same for all you ladies x.
Is anyone else constantly hungry? I'm starving all day because I can't actually fit a big meal in so I eat small amounts to take the edge off and I'm starving again an hour later. I'll be about 50 stone by the time this baby is born!
27 weeks today yay! I have my consultant appointment to choose my birth this week too. Fingers crossed she'll let me have the MLU if not I'll take the elcs.
There's a scary thread on chat at the minute about things people say to you about labour and birth - avoid if you can ladies. Think I'm scarred for life now haha

Sunshinesaz86 · 10/02/2015 19:11

Hi ladies, loving the chocolate talk, I was eating mini eggs with vanilla ice cream and chic sauce the other day!.,,...craving??

So basically today I found out maternity unit at my local hospital which is 10 mins away is having a massive re-shuffle in April where basically any high risk woman will go to two other hospital over 30 miles in each direction but the low risk woman will still go to local but only been seen my a few midwives on the ward with no doctors or consultants on the wards so any issues or emergencies they will need to put the woman in an ambulance and take her to either or 30 odd miles away! Pretty worrying and all the staff are having to reapply for their jobs and will be shuffled round! Keeping my fingers crossed I have a safe birth needing no intervention! Sad

Justyouwaitandsee · 10/02/2015 19:19

Oh no sunshine - what a shock that must have been. Whereabouts are you / the hospital? Do you have a good community midwife? I hope they will be able to support you through everything going on...

this is the link it's caused outrage!!

Blondie87 · 10/02/2015 19:44

Turquoise what a horrible experience to have gone through, so glad to hear the little one is ok. Hope you're able to get the rest you need. I too am embracing having bump- finding it incredible to see my body change knowing that I'm growing a little boy. Still blows my mind that there's a baby in there due to make an entrance in. 13.5 weeks!
Sorry to hear a few of you are feeling down, make sure you have the support you need.
For some reason people seem to feel the need to go into great detail about their battle tales of the labour room and it's like yes, I'm exactly the target audience for that!

Blondie87 · 10/02/2015 19:45

Sunshine hopefully they will have contingency plan in place to deal with it!

SmileyScooby · 10/02/2015 19:45

Another busy day on here!

Turquoise that sounds like it was really scary but pleased to hear you and baby ok and you are now resting x

inthewoods definitely found my moods to be different - real lack of patience with some people at work that are doing my head in!! I'm also just 27weeks

Tits I know what you mean about people being on a health kick and nothing you can do about it and I have just been feeling fatter every day (part of me feels jealous that they've got the energy as I have zero at the mo but I've got a baby growing inside me which makes me feel better!)

Shiny love the comment re losing more in one day than they will in a month!!

apple I'm also feeling like I could graze all day, so have made sure at work ive got some fruit and ive got grapes in fridge at home so I can get a sweet fix!! I also cancelled gym membership but that is £45 a month to go into baby fund!! Oh and double decker were my favourite when I was younger (and I too went through a £1 bag of mini eggs the other day at work...that's why I took some fruit in hehe)

leanne mine havent changed cup size yet...they felt fuller in 1st trimester but now not so (unless ive got used to it!!) was kinda hoping they'd increase in size a bit!!

I dread to think what my boobs will look like after... I've never had big boobs generally been a B cup but where I've lost weight over the years and put weight on etc they are saggy as it is!!

Mmmm all this talk about chocolate and sweets is making me hungry....keep staring at the box of malteasers that is still unopened from Christmas!!

I slept awfully last night and have been a zombie today, really hoping I sleep well tonight as don't think I could cope with another day feeling like this! Bump has been feeling tight when I've been standing up today and bit firmer but still squishy when sit down!!

Sunshinesaz86 · 10/02/2015 19:54

Thanks blondie and just I just don't understand how it'll work if a lady needs an emergency section an ambulance will have to be on hand but there will be a huge delay on transferring hospitals?? Also the main motor way the hospital is on is a ridiculous for constant road works and traffic jams especially in the summer as it's the main route to north wales holiday destinations! I feel woman and babies lives will be put at risk!
