Tempted to join the facebook group but like the fact I can talk about bowel problems without you knowing what I look like lol

Snooky17 · 02/02/2015 19:53

Oops pressed to soon, am also jealous of all the babymoons, had a few days away last yr in lakes for my (whispers) 40th but morning/afternoon/night sickness kicked in on my birthday so not the best of a break,

piglet81 · 02/02/2015 20:03

Haha Snooky, I like the anonymity of MN too! Wink

Oof, tired today. Been one of those Mondays. Hope the rest of this week is more fun!

Chookford · 02/02/2015 20:09

smiley if you are only on a short journey/trip it's fine for baby to be in car seat but they do get hot and sweaty and can't stretch out so if you are going out and know you will be a while it's better for bubs to be lying down... My dd always slept brilliantly in her pram she loved it.. She was fine in car seat if not for a long time but always preferred to be lying flat. I had a mothercare My4 pram last time with a maxi cosi car seat but will be getting a new one this time am loving the Cosatto giggle range as they are reasonable price and really pretty! I would recommend you go and have a play with some, the shop can help you decide re budget, use, boot size, weight etc

leanne963 · 02/02/2015 20:24

smiley I have a Maxi cosi car seat and Iso fix and have just bought the Graco Symbio pram. I personally loved it because it was light and easy to maneuver and folded quite small! I tried pushing around other prams like Silvercross and the Quinny but it was way too bulky for me, but other mums love it! The Symbio isn't available online and had to go into Toys R Us to purchase it but it meant we got an awesome deal, pram and carrycot for £180!

Turquoisetamborine · 02/02/2015 20:28

Apple, you could always take the stuff off him then donate it to a refuge or something to avoid offending. I'm being given all sorts which I don't really need as I have all of DS's clothes packed away but I can't say no to people! I will donate it to someone who needs it though.

Sunshine, hope your office chair can be changed to something more comfy. Do they not do a pregnancy risk assessment for every new workplace? We have to at work.

Aberjen, my toilet habits have gone that way too but it sure beats constipation!!

Does anyone else feel like baby is trying to stick their head under your ribs? It's so uncomfortable and makes me jump.

Titsalinabumsquash · 02/02/2015 20:35

This young lady is firmly head down already so I get the tiny feet burrowing into my ribs or put my belly button. The joys of pregnancy, you think nature would have wanted us to be comfortable before looking after a helpless child! Confused

cuphat · 02/02/2015 20:46

I heard that being in a car seat for too long isn't good for their spines.

leanne963 · 02/02/2015 21:04

Turquoise My little girl is doing star jumps as i'm feeling 3 kicks all at the same time in the bladder, side and ribs lol

SmileyScooby · 02/02/2015 21:33

snooky I'm the same re the anonymity hehe

Thanks re advice so far re pushchairs etc and just using car seat :) DH thought I was making it up.

Had some bump envy at work today...another teacher is also pregnant but they are of the slimmer variety and has got a lovely neat round bump....compared to my b shaped squishy bump! When sit down bump is squishy (extra padding!!) but bit firmer when standing up...I want a round firm bump :(

aberjen · 02/02/2015 21:49

Thanks for the reassurance ladies, much appreciated Smile

snooky haha! Don't worry, with my old mn group on fb we've reached the point where anything goes! There is a truly epic thread on constipation at the mo. One of the ladies is a nurse, has seen it all, and is more than happy to share. Tis a thing of beauty Wink

aberjen · 02/02/2015 21:53

On the bump front, I was feeling massive and thinking I can't be far off where I was when DD was born, then remembered I can still wipe my bum without channeling my inner contortionist Grin Ah, the joys and grace of pregnancy.

applecore0317 · 02/02/2015 21:53

lovely tankini kitty

smiley I bought a graco travel system from mothercare. Was half price and came with car seat, isofix base, changing bag, rain cover and foot muff. It also will fit in the boot of my fiesta

Turqouise thats what my mum suggested. Have said no for now, and he tried to call me, I've got so much from my Aunty that I don't want to sift through another load. Plus saves him getting it down from his loft and sorting through it himself

Justyouwaitandsee · 03/02/2015 06:24

Well we have woken up to two inches of snow here! Not ideal considering the men started work on replacing all our windows yesterday (a big job as the previous occupant decided to fit floor to ceiling windows in every room - including the bedrooms!) just pleased they managed to get all the bedrooms basically finished yesterday.

I am also a bit nervous about slipping or falling as with everything going on, I had forgotten that I needed to order myself some new walking boots. Plus the trains all seem to be cancelled anyway!

How is everyone wlse doing? Is it the same elsewhere? Am thinking of working from home but thats easier said than done when everything is covered in dustsheets and if the work is able to continue we are going to be (ahem) 'well ventilated'!!

shinyhappyone · 03/02/2015 06:53

Where are you justyou? Glad there's only a dusting here. Hate driving in the snow and don't fancy inviting my entire class here to work from home! Wink

leanne963 · 03/02/2015 08:29

It's snowed here in Gloucester justyou annoyingly I have a lot of filming today to do for my dissertation and need to travel to Taunton, so fingers crossed everything is ok! A bit annoyed but hopefully I'll manage!!

Justyouwaitandsee · 03/02/2015 08:41

I'm in Herts. Has melted a bit so only an inch or so now. No sign of the window fitters yet though...

Threesoundslikealot · 03/02/2015 09:12

Poor you, Justyou. We had building work all through last winter and I remember being at home with DS at the end of my maternity leave, both of us shut in the living room with an extra heater.

Our car has massively broken down. I'm working night duty this evening and usually drive in this one day to get home quicker. So today of all days, with snow and stuff, it'll be the bus home. And all the buses near work are diverted right now so it's a 20 minute walk to the nearest bus stop before I even start!

Chookford · 03/02/2015 10:08

Morning Ladies

Snowing here in Kent too... woke up to a lovely covering! and its absolutely freezing! Im so glad our car is 4 wheel drive, I live in a village so its all hills to get out... makes such a difference!!

Three sorry to hear your car has broken down, its always the way isnt it they break down at the most inconvienient of days!

kittiker · 03/02/2015 10:14

Pretty snowy and icy up here in Scotland. I know this because when I stepped outside to defrost my car this morning I slipped and fell down a flight of concrete steps - onto my sizable arse, thankfully. I'm just back from the Maternity Unit and everything's fine. Heard baby's heartbeat and he's bouncing about as usual. I just have to rest today and keep an eye on things. Still pretty shaken and teary but okay. Take care all of you when out and about!!

FeelingBlessed77 · 03/02/2015 10:24

kittiker - glad everything ok, you must be quite shaken up.

Chookford · 03/02/2015 10:35

Kitti sorry to hear that... glad bubba is ok, bloody snow and ice is trecherous, especially for ladies that have a waddle! Stay in and eat cake and drink Hot Choc all day... that always helps!

mumxof3x · 03/02/2015 10:54

Glad everything is ok kitti.

Got back last night from london, had a lovely time even though we was only there a short time, first time ive ever been and so different to home. I have eaten soooo much, but oh well. I had a pretty worried day yesterday, after lots of contraction like pains sun night lasted about 3 hour and had one every 5 mins then they stopped, but then yesterday lost 3 huge peices of plug. But all is ok today, so think id just overdone it with all the travelling n walking. Got my results back from docs and I do have anemia, so glad they checked them early rather then waiting another 4 weeks.

Hope everyone is ok x

WilsonWilsonWoman · 03/02/2015 11:21

Hello everyone, can I join in too? 25 weeks due May 14th but elcs so aiming for the 9th May for delivery. 2nd baby :)

applecore0317 · 03/02/2015 11:23

Oh Kitty glad all is ok, that must have been horrible

Hope all is ok with you too Mum are you going to get checked out at the hospital?

A bit of snow here, really not enough to cause the the traffic delays that it did this morning!

Am riding the constipation train today, and it is making me grumpy, apparently after having the opposite last week my bowels have now gone on strike

justyouwait hope the house isn't too cold for you
