twinkletee I've been like that this week, then turned into horrible crampinf and at one point pain so bad that I thought it could be appendicitis, all turned out to be a stomach bug which caused trapped wind and eventually running to the loo with an upset tummy. Then after all that I felt bruised and sore like I had pulled muscles

Don't know if that helps. Speak to the MW though if you are worried :)

fluffeh when I was birthing partner to my friend she asked for a blanket and that covered up her legs etc and make the examinations more discreet. By the time she was pushing she was less self concious because by that time she just wanted the baby out, but the blanket or sheet definitely made her more comfortable

applecore0317 · 01/02/2015 07:28

lovely bump picture three

Threesoundslikealot · 01/02/2015 08:27

Thanks, apple.

Fluffeh, your birth centre really concerns me. You know you can decline internal examinations, don't you? Nothing seems more likely to stall the natural progress of labour than unwanted hourly VEs. Women labour best in privacy, calm surroundings with minimal intervention. Which can be achieved in hospital if they are considerate, and it sounds like the MLU is run along those lines, but the birth centre sounds extremely interventionist from the outset.

It's an infection risk too. And you know that any examination you don't consent to is physical assault?

TwinkleTee · 01/02/2015 09:18

Thanks for all the tips ladies.... trapped wind does make sense. I now have new sympathy for those little colicky babies!
No problems though since I woke up. I don't know if things became "untrapped" over night and DH is just to clever lovely to let me know Grin
Will keep peppermint tea and the hands and knees exercises in reserve for next time!

leanne963 · 01/02/2015 10:10

Three 75 hour labour? Taking paracetamol for pain? Are you wonder woman!? Lovely bump btw!! I like how we are all getting into proper bump territory!

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend! Me and my boyfriend are off to a hotel today! It's a stunning manor house with spa facilities and we are just gonna eat lots and chill in the pool! So excited!!! Was a Xmas present from the family :) They do deals on a Sunday where you can have Tea and scones on arrival, then use all the pool, then have a 3 course meal then have a buffet breakfast the next morning for £99 for the two of us! So such a bargain! I went there with my mum a few weeks back and they said that they wouldn't charge any extra if we went back with a baby all they would do is put a cot in our room! So that's good to know we can go back this time next year if we wanted!

longestlurkerever · 01/02/2015 10:49

Ooh leanne I am jealous. Currently sitting in kwik fit waiting for car to be fixed. Wish I was somewhere a bit more spa-like!

FeelingBlessed77 · 01/02/2015 11:07

Morning ladies. I've just got on scales and have lost weight this week. 4 and a half pounds. is this normal at 26 weeks.

gingerfluffball · 01/02/2015 11:26

Spa hotel sounds amazing. Jealous! Having a v hormonal weekend, grumpy, irritable and tired. Dh is being v patient (actually he deserves an award) but urgh I thought all the hormonal moody stuff was meant to be worst in first trimester?!

leanne963 · 01/02/2015 12:25

longest I am counting today as mine and DP last little break together so I am going to enjoy it so much!! Are you gonna have a little 'baby moon' before the LO arrives?! I've never heard of them before joining MN but they seem quite popular!

leanne963 · 01/02/2015 12:27

ginger I am grumpy too but to everyone BUT my DP. I seem to be getting aggravated with things family and friends are saying.

Baby moon next weekend with DH to the Lake District- can't wait!
Just got given a boot full of baby things from my parents' friends. All they want in return is a donation to Alder Hey hospital. People can be so generous :)

applecore0317 · 01/02/2015 13:24

I've got a spa weekend to look forward tp end of this month, with my Mum, best friend and her Mum. Can't wait!! Bought a nice spotty maternity tankini from amazon as well. Only ten pounds

shinyhappyone · 01/02/2015 13:52

Oh I can't wait for our week away in Cornwall at the beginning of March and having read this thread, I'm booking a spa day while we're there too!
Ginger, I'm so blue today too. The last week has taken it's toll and I'm realising pregnancy is a little more tricky than I thought! There's me thinking I could just carry on as normal and all of sudden I'm not physically able to do the things I could even last week! DH has been wonderful but don't want to be a grumpy whinge bag for the next 15 weeks! Grump grump grump!! xx

Royalsteph · 01/02/2015 14:33

we have a weekend away booked for me, dp and two friends at the end of April to the lake district to a beautiful cottage. 26 weeks today Smile

FeelingBlessed77 · 01/02/2015 14:44

We are going to Windsor in march for a weekend, and have asked DF for a mum to be massage for my birthday.

Sunshinesaz86 · 01/02/2015 15:22

shiny I feel the same, I haven't slept properly for the last few nights, I've had to change position in work much earlier than I thought as im struggling with siatica and back pain and last night I was just so emotional as I was grumpy tired and in pain, not like me at all! DP has been great tho. Hopefully it'll pass, fingers crossed!

Jealous of all you lucky ladies having breaks away! Enjoy the time. X

piglet81 · 01/02/2015 16:02

Ooh, I've got minibreak envy! Think I'll try and persuade DH that we need a weekend away pre-baby. The spa at Bath is gorgeous - we went there on our honeymoon and loved it.

Hope everyone's doing OK. Shiny, I'm noticing the same re activity levels etc - everything seems to be more of an effort week on week, and I feel unfit and breathless! I'm still having a pretty easy ride though so can't complain.

TMI alert but I noticed this morning that my nipples are much bigger and darker. It's so weird seeing all these physical changes that just seem to happen of their own accord!

SmileyScooby · 01/02/2015 16:35

Am so jealous of all these mini breaks!! The only mini break I will have is visiting the inlaws in a few weeks time hehe.

apple what is the link for the tankini? Am trying to find an aquanatal class and prefer tankini top and bottoms to a swimsuit.

shiny you are not alone with the activity stuff. I'm finding everything is more effort.

applecore0317 · 01/02/2015 17:17

smiley its this onewww.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00IYOE3QG/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1422810932&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SY200_QL40&keywords=maternity+tankini&dpPl=1&dpID=41rVGw6%2BczL&ref=plSrch

It looks shapeless on the model but I was really pleased with it and it came beautifully packaged. How you would expect a designer one to be, so was pretty impressed by the price and going to nose at what other bits they sell :)

piglet my nipples are like a shade of purple 99% of the time!! Ha!

kittiker · 01/02/2015 18:25

Ooo I'm in the minibreak club, too. A night away to the Isle of Mull at the end of February and I'm hoping DH will 'surprise' me with a night away for our 5th wedding anniversary at the end of March - been dropping major hints!
Starting 3rd trimester today - how did that happen? I'm actually feeling pretty good. My nausea / sickness and fainting seems to have stopped (since week 23ish) and I'm feeling much less anxious than I was. Much more tired though.

Hope everyone has a great week. K x

SmileyScooby · 01/02/2015 18:25

Thanks apple looks nice!! Have you tried it on? Is it true to size? Just I'm normally an 18/20 so dunno if the 18 would be big enough.

Am suffering with the onset of heartburn a bit this evening so will be downing the gaviscon before going to bed and get the extra pillows out!!
