Thanks FiRaffe. I quite fancy a little lump sum if I don't go back! It's probably in the company handbook come to think of it.

Lauren82000 · 28/01/2015 15:29

Thanks Smogs I'll mention it if I have some in the next lot. She really didn't seem bothered though. Will have to wait and see.

Siarie · 28/01/2015 15:45

Hmmm, seems there is some confusion with regards to my thyroid management. Had my bloods taken Monday and just spoken with my GP, they say I need to increase my meds due to raised TSH levels. Which is fine, but they asked what the endocrinologist said when I spoke to them (my appointment for that was Friday) and they haven't had any letter from them yet, GP wanted to know when I would see the Endocrinologist next.

Well when I spoke to the endocrinologist he said I wouldn't be seeing him again, that I was discharged and that my GP will monitor the levels? I thought that must be normal but my GP was surprised to hear me say that.

Just checking whether and of the other thyroid ladies have the same?

Anyone looking for a lightweight dressing gown there is a spotty one on mothercare website that comes with a nursing nightie for £30. They have a dark or light grey one on its own for £18 too. I wouldn't go for light grey though incase you leaked Blush

TheBooMonster · 28/01/2015 17:23

ooh lauren my papoozle should be here tomorrow, I managed to reschedule it for a day that just DD and I should be home so I don't face any discussions on it :P I recon it'd be fairly easy to make something similar on a small scale, especially as it wouldn't need to be strong enough to carry an actual baby...

DD got quite upset today that I came to tumble tots but nanny took her round the equipment, not sure if I'd be best off not going so she doesn't get so confused about me being there :S I'd been managing to still drag myself into taking her round despite how tiring it is but had a pretty bad morning for sickness this morning and had to keep popping out to have intimate moments with the bathroom, strangely the one thing I've managed to keep down all day is the BLT i had after tumble tots O.o

TinyTear · 28/01/2015 18:02

Siarie, that is odd, I am seeing an antenatal endocrinologist ever 4 weeks

Wineandchoccy · 28/01/2015 18:32

I bought a thin cotton dressing gown in Primark today for £8 I got it in black so won't show any leakages, they did it in hot pink but thought the colour was not very practical.

cinnamongreyhound · 28/01/2015 18:47

Don't be so hard on yourself daholster, not quite sure I understnd how your hours work but you're not stupid at all, you've done what you needed to at the time. Love your little bundle of clothes.

Ds2 and I got soaked picking up my minded little girl too Lauren82000, hail stones and rain mixed here! And yes cm is equivalent to weeks from 28wks onwards.

I only wore a nightie after having ds1 and overnight and then got dressed the next day. I know it's more difficult if you have a cs to wear clothes but I was happier being dressed.

It's a possibility minipie, they do like a label. Can't see how reducing fat will help but then I'm anti low fat things as I'm don't think they are always healthier. Fat is good in moderation and the right form. I refuse to drink low fat milk Grin

Some places are better than others with mat leave. I certainly didn't get paid bh but did get my accrued holiday to use or could have been paid it if I had chosen to.

I think ds2 has tonsillitis :(

Tiny are you hyper or hypo? If you don't mind me asking.

Lauren82000 · 28/01/2015 19:40

Thanks cinnamon, that means I'm measuring a week ahead then if I'm 28w today and measured 29cm yes?

Heyitsholly · 28/01/2015 20:08

I wouldn't pay too much attention to the tape measuring size. Mine was way out after my growth scan yesterday. Tape said it was a big baby. Scan said on the small side so just take it with a pinch of salt so to speak. I've now got a growth scan every 4 weeks.
I'm hypothyroid but all they have done is upped my meds during pregnancy. Seeing a specialist for the blood pressure so I don't think they bothered about it too much. What's the issue with thyroid and pregnancy?
9 more working weeks from tomorrow as I finish on a Thurs before the bank hols. Really gonna struggle as I'll be 38 weeks then! Well see if I make it that far. Still having a HR\manager fight for poor risk assessment. I won't be working in private healthcare next time that's for sure.
Babies r us delivery is pathetic, fighting to get my cot delivered. Think I may just get a refund hmmmm Hmm

AnniaFausta · 28/01/2015 20:11

Just caught up on everyone's threads after my quick not-quite-caught up post this morning... we may natter but it's lovely ;)

DH and I had a massive strategy session last night when we worked out what the hell actually needs doing. First timing is tricky.

TinyTear · 28/01/2015 20:42

Siarie, hypo, underactive... I take 150mcg thyroxine a day

daholster · 28/01/2015 20:51

Annia second timing is tricky too!!! When do we remove the cot side so she can move into a big bed so he can be in the cot at 4 months... But she doesn't quite seem ready... And how can we move the stuff from the study into the front room to make a nursery in the study without losing our last space for manoeuvring stuff?! It is taking a lot of thinking! I agree strategising is best, we did that too. I made a list of everything we need to do and we are putting in an order... I think dh was surprised there was actually so much to do!

I was cheeky today and emailed my obstetric consultant. It's a locum. I asked to see her for an appointment as opposed to only seeing the registrar until the end. It's not that I don't think the registrar knows a good deal, it's more that I know I the consultant will have more experience with complexity and rare conditions. I have a rare condition (HHT) as well as complexity (surgery in my tummy with ileostomy and growing hernia around it plus still flaring ulcerative colitis in my rectum which was left behind from my op.) And now I have iron deficiency which for someone with HHT isn't good at all. Although ds seems fine Grin and I am very grateful! My last consultant who moved away reassured me she had hand picked her replacement and trusted that she could manage my conditions - so it was a bit of a huge disappointment when I was told last week I would only get to see the registrar because the consultant did alternate weeks in the clinic.

So I found out her email address and have begged unashamedly (well, a little ashamedly) for an appointment to talk over everything and meet her at least once. She has replied saying she has requested my notes and will be in touch... Not sure if I have been too rude! But I decided no point in stewing about it.

cinammon you always say the right things. And lauren that would break my heart too!!!

Dd did like swimming, mostly. Thanks goodnes!!!

StuntNun · 28/01/2015 20:56

Lanisoh cream is £7.49 on Amazon at the minute if anybody is looking for some.

Siarie · 28/01/2015 21:21

How strange, I don't understand why it would be different then. I've been upped to 225mcg daily now, I'm also underactive but the endocrinologist didn't seem bothered unless I had graves which I believe is hyper?

Hidingthefear · 28/01/2015 22:05

Good shout stunt ill be buying some of that!!
Eurgh snow, hail and lightening here. Just swept the yard and a pathway to the car and put some salt down, not sure it will have worked in the morning though. DH slipped getting out the car so as I got out shouted hold on honey I'm coming, so that he could hold my hand and walk me to the car :) lol
Think I'm going to roll my annual leave over and take it in Jan to lengthen my leave, taking 2 weeks before due date too so 8 weeks to go yay

RumNoRaisins · 28/01/2015 22:52

Hi all! Just had a growth scan today because of GD and happily all was well. Giving up cakes and sweets seemed to have worked as my weight gain has plateaued and sugars were fine so I don't need another appointment for 4 weeks. Which is a relief because I am struggling to keep up with work and all the antenatal appointments!

We just found out that DH has been offered a new job, one that he really wants and will be a brilliant career move. However he won't be eligible for paternity leave. Grrr. He's going to see if he can negotiate some flexi working got when the baby comes, maybe work a few days from home.

FiRaffe · 29/01/2015 08:05

That's good news about the job NoRumRaisins, hope he sorts something ref pat leave.

Hope you're all okay in the snow if you have any. We barely had a frost this morning - I keep hoping for a snow day!!!

AnniaFausta · 29/01/2015 08:18

Rum, my DH was in a similar position - he's changed jobs, but do so when I was already expecting so isn't eligible for paternity leave. His HR department have given him a week off as a goodwill gesture, and he's taking the other week as holiday (which he's/we're rubbish at taking, so will probably have a healthy store of!). Hope your DH's HR people are also in a genial mood when he speaks to them.

kismac · 29/01/2015 08:21

Good news on the scan Rum and I hope your DH gets some leave sorted.

Loads of snow here. Ah well, I'll just have to go to the office that is 10 mins away rather than my actual base that is 1.5 hours away. Oh dear. He he.

My DHs leave starts again on April so he thinks he will take an extra week at the end of PL. He was grateful for it last time as I was in hospital for a week so that was one of his weeks wasted. Hmm

He also was not impressed with the papoozle when I stuck it on him last night. Asked why we didn't have a sturdy carrier. To which I said this one is for me and I'll be getting a sturdier one after the baby is born as they aren't really that good for newborns, so yes I fudged the truth a bit on that but I don't care I guess I'll let him pick the colour of the Manduca seem as though he was so put off by the red.
