20th JSing GRADS thread - our chat's still filthy, just not in front of the baby...

Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 20th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 37th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal clubs here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates! It's a bit quiet at the moment, but with all these upduffed viroids hopefully it won't be for long!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

So, roll call below please, viroids!

oh and indigo pmd me the other day. think hope she's just busy

DulcetMoans · 27/01/2015 08:01

Oh god, nil by mouth, that's not fair! At least it's an early appointment I guess. You've been taking it at 8.15 haven't you? Has to be same time every day? I guess if they haven't said otherwise I would stick to same time but ideally if want to check. Are they in early?

la, you're not an avocado, you're a blackberry mobile phone.

LaLa5 · 27/01/2015 08:02

That site still doesn't work for me dulcet! I'm still fruit!

Good luck today lil!

Sorry you're having some worries stoat. Hope the scan can help to put your mind at ease.

la hope mw listens to heartbeat today - it's the most wonderful sound! Have you felt any flutters yet?

kato that sounds horrid, you poor thing. Hope the inhaler stays effective.

Hope you're doing ok zyla

Yay for more ponies! I'm still working on dh, but I really hope he lets me get one when we move house. I really want our kids to have experience of horses when they're little (and goats, pigs, cats, dogs, chickens... Considering our current animals total two bunnies, I have a way to go!)

Pisghetti · 27/01/2015 08:52

Morning viroids. Good luck today Lil! waves the eggy pompoms

I had my first antenatal class last night. It was a bit short notice - called the hospital to book them and they happened to be starting the next rotation that evening. It was quite good - the midwife had a knitted uterus to show what happened to the cervix during the first stage of labour. Surprisingly effective! Some needlework placentas (bit yucky) and a stretchy nylon vagina to stress the importance of a controlled delivery to minimise tearing. It was focussed on the Birth Centre i.e. midwife led care for low risk mothers so they only touched upon what would happen if you were transferred. It appears to be trust policy to automatically go for CS for breech babies so I'm resolutely not slouching on sofas anymore! Baby is transverse at the moment. I'm also starting Daisy birthing on Wednesday. I emailed the instructor to say about the SPD as she asked in the joining instructions to let her know if there were any issues which might affect mobility. She's confident that the classes will actually help and has suggested I bring a ball in to use instead of sitting on the floor. Willing to try anything that might help!

I thought I slept ok last night but I feel exhausted this morning. Had a little cry at my desk as got some bad news from the Scottish wing of the family involving a newborn so I'm trying not to dwell on it as it is a horror story and is making me question my choice to go for midwife care even though the chances of it happening to me are minimal.

DP complained he hadn't had much sleep as I was snoring Blush I was tempted to mention that it was planned.... but instead opted for '7 more weeks and I won't be snoring anymore as we'll have a newborn keeping us up instead'

LaLa5 · 27/01/2015 09:09

I'm a cheat as my friend lent me her Doppler so I can hear heartbeat :)

I'm not doing it regularly as I have heard they are not sure whether it's ok for baby. So I just did it once and it's there if I feel anxious but no more. Took me a while to find hb but it's there Grin

I'm looking forward to hearing it on the proper machine though! My Doppler is very quiet

I'm hoping to chat to mw about a water birth. I'd really like one and they have three pools at my hospital

Mini yes you should get a wee pony! I do rehoming of rescue ponies and we always have tonnes of smaller ponies looking for loving families. I'd like a family pony for my wee ones when they're older, plus something for me to ride. I'd love another luso Lauren but after mine I'm not sure as he took so much more work. I'm not sure if it was just him though as he was unschooled and unhandled when I got him. I'd quite like something that's been started properly so I could potentially go and do some dressage/jumping, but nothing too high maintenance as he'd mostly be for fun and I don't want to have to be worrying about working him 6 days a week. I've always wanted a Hanoverian! I do love Iberians though and would happily have another as long as it had been backed and handled properly first. I'd like to rescue a gypsy cob as well because there are so many of them in rescues, poor things.

Basically I'm going to end up with a farm!!!

Hahaha good one Pis. A planned snoring attack. Sorry to hear about your bad news, things like that can be awful but you're right, no reason it would happen to you. I had a far more positive experience this time with just a midwife compared to doctor last time - think a lot is probably down to which doctor/midwife you get.

Ah La, I had notions of a waterbirth. My friend had one and loved it. Sadly not to be for me.

Mini all those animals fill me with horror. We have no pets. My mum thinks it's cruel for MiniWil.

So she has cracked it! Finally slept at night time. I was so shocked I couldn't get to sleep myself but massive progress. Think I'll even try and go out today!

willywallace · 27/01/2015 09:20

Damn missed off most important bit. Good Luck Lil!

minimooo · 27/01/2015 10:10

Oh no, wil my dh is exactly the same - not at all fussed about animals (he thinks they're "dirty") I can understand because he never grew up with animals, but it is difficult because I desperately want to go back to living on a farm!

Aww la it is the best sound ever isn't it?! Nice that you have a Doppler at home so you can check any time you feel worried.

I would love a water birth. Our local midwife led birthing centre has three en-suite rooms, all with pools and active birthing gear. Am aiming for that if my placenta gets a shifty on up away from my cervix!

pis sorry to hear about the sad story. It's terrible hearing bad news, especially when it's friends/family. You're right though, the chances are so slim of having that kind of experience.
Nice to hear the antenatal classes were useful - were they the nhs ones? Mine start in early March, but I've got hypnobirthing classes starting next week.

minimooo · 27/01/2015 10:11

Man alive, I write essays for posts! Sorry guys Blush

Stoatystoat · 27/01/2015 10:23

Just checking in...I am reading everyone's updates but I'm afraid I'm not a very good poster at the moment, feeling very me me me. I am sorry.

Knicker update is that it's still happening (small amounts) and is brown but I am beside myself. One minute I think, I'm not in pain, it's not getting worse and maybe it's ok. The next, I think I must be slowly miscarrying. The only time I think I get fresh blood is post poo so that's not bothering me too much. The worst is when I get any blood before bed. I struggle to get to sleep, I have been falling asleep with the light on. I would love to just sleep between now and next Thursday.

I've come in to the office today - I'm going to be working at home as much as I can but try and keep up with commitments like meetings. It was hard to find my get up and go. I just thought being at home all day gazing into my pants might send me insane. As it happens, I can see the maternity hospital from my building. It's just that I have an hours commuting via train and bus. I'm hoping that keeping busy will do me good. And obviously if I am still pregnant, work under my belt now is a good thing. Not knowing is just awful. DH is optimistic and I wished I was too.

KatoPotato · 27/01/2015 10:51

Good Luck Lil xx

Stoaty it's scary but I definitely got brown blood at the start, which correlated with taking an ibuprofen by accident. I really panicked too, but first tiem round with DS I got a brown 'bleed' every four weeks, so much so that i chalked it as a period.

brown is good, it's just bean settling in.

Fleurchamp · 27/01/2015 11:36

stoat it is so scary, feel bad for you.

Could fresh blood after no 2 indicate piles or a tear up the, umm, passage?

teejayem · 27/01/2015 11:43

lil I've got my wicker basket and checked picnic blanket to wave. :) Fx for you!

stoat Feel free to me me me, I know lots of us here used each other as a sounding board when we couldn't/ hadn't told people in RL and it's so much easier to go through these things when there are people in a similar boat.

Had an absurd cry this morning. Mr Tee is away rest of week and had made me lovely packed lunch and as we were leaving I snapped at him and said I had too much to carry so he went off and put packed lunch in fridge. I cried all the way to the station, all the way into work on the train, and even typing it now is making me well up. I text him to say how terrible I felt about it, and he had taken zero notice or offence whatsoever and called me a silly cow.

Still feel terrible about it. Frigging hormones.

KatoPotato · 27/01/2015 11:47

Tee my poor lovely DH has been the brunt of some atrocious behaviour from me! Mostly involving chips, bread or crisps.

ZylaB · 27/01/2015 12:06

stoat fx ofr you, brown blood is usually ok!

kato hope you're feeling better

lil hope it's going well today :)

wil a sleep at night sounds like an achievement, let's hope she keeps it up :)

I'm still full of cold and still not sleeping properly. Haven't heard anything from the hospital about my blood and urine results which either means they're fine, or no one has checked them lol! Am in for growth scan and to see consultants tomorrow so fx she's growing properly and they're happy with me :)

RPopz · 27/01/2015 12:55

I wanted a water birth but sadly was not to be! Sad

Hope it all went well Lil!!

Pis I always quite enjoyed the role reversal of me keeping DH awake with my preggo snoring!

RPopz · 27/01/2015 12:56

Hugs Stoat x

laurenamium · 27/01/2015 13:01

Hope you're okay stoat! Don't worry about being me me me! In the circumstances I would be too!

teejayem · 27/01/2015 13:03

In what seems a total 180 turnaround, I think work are actually going to agree to me frontloading all my annual leave to my mat leave!! I think sobbing at my desk over packed-lunch-gate has triggered some level of sympathy.
This means I only have 60 working days left. Fuuuuuck.

ZylaB · 27/01/2015 13:22

Yay tee that's good news :)

I have a random HR question... Work have finally sent me confirmation of my actual pay I'm due at diff times of my maternity leave (starting 2nd feb) but, do I have to tell them when I give birth? I know it'll be before my actual due date, but should hopefully be after my maternity leave starts, so it wouldn't affect it would it?

Basically work are so shit at dealing with things and I hate my manager so don't want to talk to them at all if I can get away with it lol

Pisghetti · 27/01/2015 13:39

You won't have to tell them if you're on maternity leave already. I'm frontloading annual leave which means if my baby turns up more than a week before my due date (which is when mat leave starts) I'll have to let my employers know. If you're on annual or sick leave when the baby comes, maternity leave automatically starts the following day.

In our policy (and I'm not sure if this is universal or just us) I should expect a call about once a month from my manager to keep me up to date with developments at work, new opportunities, etc so you may find that he'll be contacting you at some point!

willywallace · 27/01/2015 13:59

Ah Mini you're just like me, my posts are three times as long as they need to be Grin .

Thanks stoat. Wish I had something helpful to say. I knew after the first day of spotting that I was having a mc so hopefully the fact this is going on a while is a good sign.

ZylaB · 27/01/2015 14:04

Thanks pis I've also front loaded annual leave and am currently taking that until the start of feb. Then it'll be maternity leave so hopefully I won't have to say anything to them. I think they can only get in touch if it's important changes or things I must know. I can't actually think of a time that would ever be the case, yes... The education dept is still delivering courses. What else could they say. My line manager is just a useless micro managing cow who never deals with important stuff and goes on about things which don't matter. Her manager is ace, so we all usually go to him hehe. But I can't bear the thought of having to talk to her, or her asking to come and see the baby, which I know she'll want to do!

ZylaB · 27/01/2015 14:11

Hmm it says this in my maternity policy...

"10.2 Reasonable contact
XXx(workplace) may make reasonable contract with you from time to time for example in relation to arrangements for a return to work or to advise an employee of developments at work."

I wonder what counts as developments at work??
