Hi All

Here's what may or may not be our final thread!!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

You don't need a sheet for pram I just thought it would be a bit more comfy as our covering that comes with pram is a bit rough.

BanglesSpangles · 12/01/2015 16:47

thanks donkir -yesterday I had a total strop that ended with 'well the wardrobe won't fit in- we'll just have to sell it and not have a wardrobe so we can get the cot in'

Given that the chest of drawers is already full to bursting with nappies and stuff, I think cutting down on my storage options probably isnt the most sensible idea!

Irrationality is definitely biting me in the bum at the moment!

Grinning I ended up with forceps and had bruising to my knees, it didn't hurt at all and was totally gone in days, I also had no problem with the bruised fanjo pain others seem to get I hope it works so well this time.

Cannot believe I am 2 weeks from EDD tomorrow, although if they agree on friday to induce chances are it will be the monday after, mum has said she will have ds on the weekend to give me a proper nights sleep

WhyOWhyWouldYou · 12/01/2015 17:58

Why does the tax credits helpline have to be such a damn pain? They have a horrible "intelligent" automated computer thing that answers your call, asks you the security questions, which you have to repeat 2-3 times before it understands you. Then if your not lucky it tells you there's no operators available, says goodbye and hangs up! So you ring back later go through the whole lot again and hope you'll be lucky enough to be put through, to then spend 25minutes on hold, just to tell them something where the whole conversation takes less than 3mins. What a waste of an hour of my life!

On a positive note asda are going to sort out my money, but even that took 15mins of them saying they had refunded it and me saying well its never gone back into my account before they checked their system and said "oh, yeah, it does say there was an error and the refund failed".

Think pregnancy is making me extra grumpy.

sandulacek · 12/01/2015 18:02

Ok thanks donkir. So confused with all the layers in the basket, on the baby etc etc Hmm

GeekyHybrid · 12/01/2015 18:23

Finally, after 10 days the walls of the nursery are bare :-D Now all we have to do is fill the holes, replace the blown plaster patches then paint. And get a carpet.
As an illustration of previous family who had this house. The nursery was previously a childs room (pink butterfly stickers on the wall!). As I was stripping paint from the skirting using the hot air gun I evidently hit a 'crumb' of I'm guessing nugget rather than pot that must have fallen beneath the skirting. Let's hope bubba doesn't get a lungful of that again for a good few years!!

thingsarelookingup · 12/01/2015 18:49

Frenetic I have to regularly eat dried apricots to keep things moving. They taste a lot better than prunes and have the same effect (in fact I have to be careful to not eat too many at once or things can go horribly wrong!).

Well, I got my c-section date today. Friday the 13th of Feb. I love the fact that it will be Friday the 13th and loving that it's only 1 month to go tomorrow.

Welcome mild. Don't worry at all about joining late. Lots of us come and go depending on how busy we are and with a postnatal thread to come there's plenty of time to join in the chat.

purpleteapig · 12/01/2015 19:33

Does anyone know where to get a long vest that covers all the necessary bits? I cannot find one anywhere! Want one for labour as last time I didn't really like having my arse out when I got out of the birthing pool (had to get out several times to be monitored) and I had only a short top on.

BanglesSpangles · 12/01/2015 19:33

Why- the self assessment line is the same- I've not actually managed to speak to a real person yet and have tried 5 times! Tax is definitely bloody taxing!

OP posts:
Memphisbelly · 12/01/2015 19:39

Purpletea primark do maternity cami vests which cover thr bump for £4 I also noticed in their normal vest/clothes section they had cami vest/dress longer vests for about £3 that would cover the bum, I have been buying a size 14 just to wear under stuff

WhyOWhyWouldYou · 12/01/2015 19:46

Tax is definitely bloody taxing! Grin its rubbish isn't it. If its not going to put you through it could at least hang up on you before the questions, not after.

GeekyHybrid · 12/01/2015 19:49

purple I've also been impressed with the primark vests, even the regular ones seem good at staying below bump in the cold weather.
Bangles hiccups for the 2nd time today here, when I mentioned them to the BF specialist midwife today she just smiled and said "it's going to be a guzzler". Considering both myself and OH have very healthy appetites I'd honestly be surprised if it wasn't ;-D

Memphisbelly · 12/01/2015 20:20

Bangles this baby gets lots of hiccups but ds had them so often for last 2 months it made me feel sick, they said then it was good for the baby's lungs as it strengthens them. Weirdly I used to get hiccups everytime I ate carbs and it stopped in that pregnancy. Ds never really got hiccups once born.

More bloody tightenings tonight, I just tried to stand up and ended up having to call dh to get a dining chair to kneel on as The muscles were so tight I couldn't stand straight Shock my body is working against me at the moment

BanglesSpangles · 12/01/2015 20:30

Thanks geeky & memphis- i was pretty sure i was being irrational but it only takes one scare story to make you go 'gaah!'

Right, tax return time- ive put it off for too long already. The ridiculous thing is Ive not been self employed for a whole year now, but cant get through to the bloody tax office to tell them!!

Have got awful wind tonight, better than trapped wind but embarrassing none the less!
Baby is wriggling around like a trooper, I'll miss it when baby is out!

mildatheart · 12/01/2015 20:35

I have a brilliant h and M vest that's regular range but long and bump covering. Great for layers.
Even my maternity jeans and trousers are too tight at the moment. I'm living in pyjamas unless I have to leave the house.
Just had hospital appointment and last growth scan. I have to go in a week tomorrow to start steroid drip and consequent insulin drip then getting induced on Friday 23!
That's so soon. If the 24 hour pessary doesn't work I can have a semi elective Caesarian.
I must admit I'm terrified of labour. Any good you tube links to help me prepare?

Memphisbelly · 12/01/2015 20:39

Mild my maternity jeans are now getting tighter too. 23rd how exciting for you! Just try to keep relaxed. Have you thought about hypnobirthing just to try and help keep you calm?

LittleMissSunshine33 · 12/01/2015 20:41

Welcome Mild I'm a teacher too Absolutely shattered should of stopped work at Christmas! Last week though!

Thanks for the sleeping tips!

Purple I've got H&M top I've packed for water birth as is nice and long.

I've got lots of phlegm! Can we take anything for it? It kept me up last night. Well that and the fact I watched a horror yesterday about a girl getting pregnant with a devil child! Don't recommend it to be honest! Wink

mildatheart · 12/01/2015 20:46

I wish there was something for phlegm. I snore like an old Russian circus bear at the moment.
I thought most hypnobirth stuff you had to pay for but I'll comb YouTube tomorrow.
I miss my classes sunshine but not the parents evening, meetings, planning or marking.

Memphisbelly · 12/01/2015 21:02

Mild someone will be along who can recommend either youtube or free apps on it I cannot remember who on here downloaded stuff

BanglesSpangles · 12/01/2015 21:11

Ooh yep, that was me with the hypnobirthing- google the calm birth school- i really liked it- there are some free videos and a facebook group you can join. I signed up for the full course and you get more videos, resources and some other bits

mildatheart · 12/01/2015 21:48

Excellent husbanding! Thanks Bangles, will check out tomorrow.

trukevoli · 13/01/2015 01:38

Just had to move down to the sofa to try and prop myself up enough to be able to breathe/not be sick/sleep. Indigestion really has kicked up a notch and I just want to cry.

I have my first antenatal course tonight and it's from 7.30 to 9.30 I then have to drive 1.5 hours to my parents for work in the morning (if I drove in the morning it can easily take 3 hours) I am sure the overthinking of how tired I will be is not helping me sleep. Sad Sad

hope all you lovely ladies are having a better night out there!

BanglesSpangles · 13/01/2015 04:28

Afternoon

I thought i was having a brilliant night when i first woke up, then realised id misread the clock at 4am and it was actually only midnight. Now it actually is 4 ive had to admit defeat and come downstairs to do some stretches

Hi tru (waves) hope the indigestion has subsided and youre tucked up asleep again.

Ooh, thats just made me realise- i didnt have any heartburn yesterday... Wonder if its too early to reduce my milk buying quota... Feels like im currently keeping british dairy farming afloat!
