Thanks Donkir. I never realised that head could engage so early! All going in the right direction i suppose!

BanglesSpangles · 18/01/2015 08:54

Peppermint- we got a tommy tippee perfect prep machine because the whole 'warming and cooling bottle to right temperature' sounded like a total minefield! (Reduced in john lewis at the mo

Hi Blank, I had similar when babys head was starting to engage. Baby has remained only 1/5 engaged (I haven't been allowed to walk much until Thursday this week). Once it was settled in there the pain stopped for me. I wonder if the pain will come back when it goes a bit further down...

Viperama · 18/01/2015 09:23

I had my baby shower yesterday, was so awesome but really missed all my female relies from back home, there's a lot of them and they are all such characters.

37 weeks today, DP and I are going out today to play, can't wait! And I'm going to get thank you cards before I put babies hoard away from yesterday so I don't forget to thank anyone. I asked for no pressies and instead donations to fund research my premmie doc is doing into prevention of pre term birth, think half mates did this which is awesome. We were soooo lucky that the consultant had a clinic at our hospital, what she did is not standard across nhs yet.

Grinningcat · 18/01/2015 09:32

Blank my pelvic pain suddenly stepped up a few notches just over a week ago when baby turned and ( according to Mw) it's head is in the brim of my pelvis ( not sure if this is engaged or not). I can still walk, but it is sooo painful and I'm getting fanny daggers all the time now. 35 weeks yesterday.

Finally had a half decent night and actually managed to sleep for a solid 4.5 hour block. Haven't had that for ages. Bliss.

More painting planned for today. DH is supposed to move his chest of drawers so we can move the flat packed cot into our room, and he is also saying he will make the new chest of drawers for baby's room. Can't wait until I can start washing baby clothes and put them away properly!

PeppermintInfusion · 18/01/2015 09:35

I was considering the perfect prep machine actually, might have to have another look.

Memphis, I think he may be head down now but I saw a junior dr the last time I went (my appt letter had said it was with the consultant, only saw him at 12w appt) and she just v casually said "oh your baby's breech, not too big though so he has plenty of room to turn... Book back in for 3 weeks and we can try an ECV if he hasn't" and left it at that with no explanation of anything Hmm I didn't even realise that the ECV was the baby turning method.

Grinningcat · 18/01/2015 09:45

I only realised that mine was breech because the Mw casually mentioned it at my 31 week appt. baby had turned by my 34 week appt. After doing my own online research ( good old Dr Google) I think they don't make much of it until 36 weeks as before then most babies turn by themselves and they don't want to worry the mums to be. i did get down on all fours and wiggle my hips about but no idea if this helped baby to turn or not.

Grinningcat · 18/01/2015 09:46

I also have the perfect prep machine Grin

Minichuch · 18/01/2015 09:57

The Mw I saw at hospital said baby was in breech at 28 weeks - mentioned this to my Mw at docs at 31 and she said oh I won't check for that until at least 36 wks - so roll on week after next to find out if baby is in breech - I have no clue at all

Trip to John Lewis today to go get a perfect prep machine - hopefully they have 1 in stock as sold out online

Memphisbelly · 18/01/2015 10:02

Blank I am not getting much pelvic pain but from getting up and down its like I waddle until my hips reallign, this baby keeps popping in and out but it feels mega low even when sitting on the rim and not engaged.

I have the perfect prep machine my only worry is you won't use it for first few weeks as it starts on 4oz and baby will start on something like 2oz.
I have got it out and had a look at it though.

No headaches in a week here I hope they stay away now. Mw said its hormonal and they should go totally once baby is out.

Going shopping with mum today as dh is doing overtime hoping a trek over shops may move something

Memphisbelly · 18/01/2015 10:04

Jen thinking of you hope it isn't too long now.

Blank I was engaged at 32 weeks last time Shock

Giant you are allowed to rant and kick off.....I would go totally apeshit over forms for health insurane if it means you may not be covered for birth you won't want a big bill

LittleMissSunshine33 · 18/01/2015 10:58

Jen as long as you are both ok your bubba is obviously very happy where it is!

How much is the perfect prep machine in John Lewis? On Amazon it's £69.99 I think I may have to get one! Anything for an easy life Wink

I feel anxious today ... I think it's because I start my maternity leave tomorrow so I would usually be working today and feel strangely guilty/weird not to be!

WhyOWhyWouldYou · 18/01/2015 11:20

Jen, keeping my fingers crossed for you, that things will start moving along.

Mini - if John lewis are out of stock might be worth trying asda as its 59.98 in their baby event.

Well my pain and locked up problem has gradually decreased from its epic proportions of Friday. But I'm still only able to stand up by myself about half the time and movement it extremely painful. By the feel of things baby also engaged Friday evening - adding that pressure/discomfort onto my already bad pelvis really isnt helping me.

So so tired now. But PGP just won't let me get a decent bit of sleep. Tbh its a good job I am getting an elcs, I'm far too exhausted to labour already.

freneticfox · 18/01/2015 12:22

WhyO, am there with you. Sofa bound today, with horrible lower back pain. It comes and goes, is this what BH is like? If so, can't say I'm loving that in combo with PGP pain.

36+1. Yawn!!

BanglesSpangles · 18/01/2015 13:09

John lewis were price matching asda when i looked- but asda was sold out online and jl would do delivery to store

Giantbabymama · 18/01/2015 14:32

Thanks Memphis. It is clearly not not my day today. Am 36 + 3 and had a very teeny amount of bleeding, like a small spot. Suspect I have knocked myself somehow or got a spot down below as seems to far forward to be coming from cervix or anywhere more sinister, but I know I know, should call the mat ward and see what's what. Baby seems to be moving ok but I feel rotten, I suspect due to no sleep last night and tramping around at an event for work today rather than sitting with my Cankles up.

Am gonna call them now.

trukevoli · 18/01/2015 16:10

any update giant?

PinkyAndTheBump · 18/01/2015 16:52

So.... that's the house just been hoovered and dusted from top to bottom and all the windows cleaned...

37w tomorrow!

Memphisbelly · 18/01/2015 17:04

Giant hope you are ok.

Pinky....nesting by any chance? Grin

I have had a bath and am not in bed chilling while dh makes roast! I want to go down and clean out fridge and then tuesday I plan on putting things in it ready for my return with a baby..........wine, pate and brie are top of the list Grin

longbottom · 18/01/2015 17:42

We've had a lazy day at home watching films etc.
I did have a burst of energy and put the cot up and made it all up, will post a pic on FB!
I looked at the perfect prep machine, but am still hoping breast feeding works! I am still in shock at how much formula and nappies cost now.

longbottom · 18/01/2015 17:43

I have been naughty Memphis and eaten pate!! I'm defo getting involved in the wine action though.

Memphisbelly · 18/01/2015 18:08

long Aldi nappies are fantastic loads better than pampers. dont buy a prep machine unless you dont bf it isnt needed it will just make life easier if you do ff

Memphisbelly · 18/01/2015 18:08

long i have wine in my maternity bagGrin Grin Wink

WhyOWhyWouldYou · 18/01/2015 18:43

giant hope all is OK?

I have a serious need to nest but can't - grrr. Mom has dug pushchair out of garage for me and took it home for a clean up. She's also had a look at the car seat base I bought before Xmas. It turns out the box was so bleeding heavy because they sent 2 not 1!!! That cheered me up a bit.

Long I plan on bf but bought a perfect prep in Amazon black Friday, cheapest I've ever seen one. I figured at the price i got it, if bf worked, I could sell on eBay as new for more than I actually paid for it and if bf goes badly again I've got one at the ready.

I second Memphis on aldi nappies (although I've never tried their newborn ones), by far the most absorbant (coped with DS's heavy night wetting where pampers couldn't) and cheap!
