Tried to go in blind for a bit of pubic topiary. The view in the mirror afterwards showed Id not made a good job of it

FTM freakouts here too- unpacked the steriliser box this week and DH asked about instructions to actually make up bottles so ending up googling and didn't realise it was a whole minefield! Then got the nursery assembled yesterday so started freaking out about how to keep baby at correct temp etc! Also try to keep feeling whether he has turned yet or not, after looking into ECV as the dr just presented it as something minor that we might do if he is still breech, I didn't realise there were risks with it (especially as I'm rhesus -ve).

Oh and today I got to experience the infamous mothercare customer service you've all been raving about! Bought a cot mobile in the sale but 2 parts were missing and the sales asst was unbelievably rude about it!

Memphisbelly · 17/01/2015 18:08

Hope you are all ok today I have finished work! i would go in Tuesday but with induction Weds and hairdresser shut until tuesday I need to prioritise looking ok Grin so brows, nails, feet and hair to be done tuesday then I will drop ds's bag off with my sister....unless I go in before then, It feels very precarious when I walk like something wants to drop put of me all feels very different down there after yesterday. Got clary sage for the bath to see if that helps.
Just brought pushchair in from the garagecfor the dog to get used to seeing some baby stuff around and bought a scooter hook for it to attatch ds's scooter on school run, also took ds to an ice cream parlour (yes in this weather) and to buy a jeallycat soft toy for baby from ds, ds has the giraffe and he picked the donkey for baby

Memphisbelly · 17/01/2015 18:14

Peppermint they would normally try and turn a breech baby or offer a section.

Memphisbelly · 17/01/2015 19:42

I have had another bath and bounced on ball until I feel sick Grin i may have a dirty kebab though before the pre baby health kick starts

Minichuch · 17/01/2015 20:02

Ooh Memphis dirty kebab sounds way better than the jacket potato and tuna I had

freneticfox · 17/01/2015 20:16

Yay Memphis, next stop... Baby!

Having an uncomfortable day of discharge and pelvis pain. Lovely. Providing he's fully cooked I'd be happy for this little monkey to make an appearance once I hit 37w...

freneticfox · 17/01/2015 20:18

Ooh, meant to post earlier about Badedas bath gelee. Read it was amazing for post birth soreness, so I got some. Couldn't resist trying it and both times I have so far, I've fallen asleep really quickly once I'm in bed. Of course I don't stay asleep, but it seems to eliminate my hour or so of fidgeting.

Expensive, mind you!

Memphisbelly · 17/01/2015 20:35

Frenetic I have heard it is good too but not too keen on sitting in a bath with blood I just knelt in a shallow bath last time so it just soothed my bits with oils in, I suppose if it is dearer it won't be moch different to a bottle of lavender oil in price.
Hope you sleep ok tonight and pelvis pain eases off.

My dirty kebab was actually healthy ish I had chicken shish so it was grilled chiken with extra saladGrin

Bangonthedoor · 17/01/2015 20:42

Ah memphis I just read that and told DP we have to get a kebab for dinner tomorrow night!! We're going away in June to Malta and I need to get my weight down as much as poss after bubba comes out.

I'm also into operation look good Grin SIL is doing my hair as we speak. Takes a long time but will be worth it when it's done Smile a good friend of mine will be doing my nails and brows in a couple of weeks. The only thing I need to do next is some how tackle the Amazon which has grown between my legs Blush

Bangonthedoor · 17/01/2015 20:43

Ohh no I'm going to be having a dirty donner Grin

longbottom · 17/01/2015 21:01

Evening ladies! You lot have been busy, only had time to read but not reply all week.
I'm totally shattered and hate to say it, wishing the days away until no longer pregnant! 34+3 and working until 37 weeks Sad
Any news on babies being born?!
Memphis I felt like I was fisted by a midwife with DD to put gel up to get things started, I will be avoiding fisting like the plague this time!!! 6 and a half years later and I still remover the pain of her giant sausage fingers!

Memphisbelly · 17/01/2015 21:06

Long is that the induction gel? I was hoping they would just pop my water on Weds but then someone today said that is really painful too, i am so desperste to start on my own before weds really dreading it

JacktheLab · 17/01/2015 22:34

Memphis,

When I was induced last time I got the pessary I think. It was uncomfortable for just a moment and then fine.

Just think this time next week you'll have your boy on the outside :)

Quick question, I'm to go in to the hospital week tomorrow for an overnight stay before my section. Am I really odd saying to my DH that I will leave him at home to put ds to bed and see him in the morning. I hate people making a fuss of me and I'd rather just get sorted on my own, but he thinks I'll change my mind during the week. Plus I'm more worried about ds being upset than me...

Surf25 · 17/01/2015 22:59

Hope the ladies who were being induced today are getting on ok! Looking forward to hearing news of the imminent arrivals!

Jack I would feel the same as you, hate fussing and would just want to get my head together and have a relatively stress free night away from any kid induced angst with bye byes and so on! So I understand Wink
By the way, if I remember right you were in Perthshire? Are you going in to NW or PRI? Exciting to know it's in a week's time! (Apologies if I am completely wrong about where you live! Think it was a few threads ago now!!)

Been sorting things in the house today in between kid's activities! Guess I should think about the hospital bag!

Kebab sounds gooood!

Hope everyone has a more comfy sleep tonight, including me!

Memphisbelly · 17/01/2015 23:28

Thanks jack the sweep yesterday has spooked me.

I would do the same as you and leave dh at home, my friend is driving me in for induction and mum and dh will follow once things progress seems silly to come with me when i will be twiddling my thumbs

longbottom · 18/01/2015 00:29

Memphis, it was the induction gel. DD was meconium and nothing started for 6 hours so had the gel put up around cervix.
I am adamant it is not to happen again if at all poss. But will obvs go with whatever baby needs and moan after!!
Can't sleep again, I've now got one, painful swollen ankle, weird!!

JacktheLab · 18/01/2015 04:58

Thanks guys, surf I'm going to ninewells, Pri is a midwife only unit, everything more complicated, inductions, c sections etc go to dundee automatically. Yup I'm in perthshire, think you are too?

Ds has just come in with us, poor soul is running a temperature, so think he might have a cold brewing, got him back to bed, might get up now though....

Giantbabymama · 18/01/2015 05:41

Is anyone else super hormonal around he 36.5 week mark? I just tore a strip off DH as his HR department is being its usual useless lump of chocolate teapot self while trying to sort out my visa (we're expats and they sponsor our residency). It's not his fault but I'm super stressed about it as no visa means no health insurance, and my current health card runs out before thebaby's due date.

Plus today is a work day here and I can't sleep at the moment so I'm a wreck. I honestly don't know how I'm going to get through work today without bursting into tears or punching someone.

GeekyHybrid · 18/01/2015 06:04

Morning fellow non sleepers! I've left OH to sleep undisturbed, hopefully I'll get at least an hour more on this sofaConfused
Giant hormonal tantrums are quite acceptable at this stage (or any stage of pregnancy for that matter) but by now we're exhausted, uncomfortable and fed up on top of the hormones. The world should just be grateful that we don't go on one more frequently! Thanks

jenmcspen · 18/01/2015 06:09

Still no new arrival here. I just think my body and baby aren't ready. I'm guessing that depending on risk to baby they may suggest a section, but we will see.

GeekyHybrid · 18/01/2015 06:15

Waves to Jen
As long as you're both comfortable I'm sure they'll let everything take its course. Still, can't be long now for you whatever happens.
My dad used to say "patience is a virtue", and I used to point out that I'd never been virtuous! Grin

Giantbabymama · 18/01/2015 07:16

Thanks Geeky. I work freelance and colleague just let me know I'm not needed as early as I thought so am trying to sit down and remain calm for a few minutes before I go. I wound myself up so much earlier I nearly puked and my blood pressure was awful when I saw the doc on Thurs. Must. Calm. Down.

blankfornames · 18/01/2015 08:29

Hopefully it'll kick into gear for you soon Jen.

Ladies, yet another question from me! For past 2 days I'm in quite a bit of pain in my pelvic area. I'm 35+3 and when I stand up after sitting, I'm in huge discomfort. I can't walk much anymore. Does this mean that Baba has engaged or any other suggestions? Thanks

donkir · 18/01/2015 08:35

Morning everyone, I'm shattered I was awake from about 4.30-6. Oh just woke me with a cuppa in bed. We've got a busy day trying to pack and sort out things to sell/charity shop before we move. I dread to think how much crap I've hoarded.

Blank my pelvis got really sore with lots of fanny daggers about 34 weeks which is when I first became head engaged. It's not got much better as times gone on. It just means I walk really slowly and rest often.
