Hi All

Here's what may or may not be our final thread!!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Aw awesome Why- that sounds like a good compromise and it'll be nice to catch up with BIL anyway after the big day, I'm sure- You never really actually get to talk to the bride and groom much at their wedding day, I always find

I'm not a fan of the 'official' footmuff for the uppababy vista, but have just found a load of non-official ones on ebay that are about a tenner... too good to be true, I wonder??

Hi Giantbabymama, welcome!

Must say I'm loving the pre-natal yoga at the mo- I went yesterday and I felt like a new person afterwards :)

OP posts:
jenmcspen · 13/01/2015 11:13

bangles we have the vista too and I thought the footmuff was a bit ugly. Haven't bought another one yet tho as figured we wouldn't need it straight away. How soon do you need them?
Bad night here with reflux. I wake up coughing feeling like I'm drowning. v scary!!! Freaks OH out too!
I also haven't got a snowsuit, but thought I might have a look at a fleecy one. Someone recommended star wraps (tuppence and crumble?) or some kind of wrap pod thing (how vague am i!?) from vertbaudet. Does anybody have either and if so any opinions?

jenmcspen · 13/01/2015 11:14

Also welcome giant Smile

mildatheart · 13/01/2015 11:19

Hi Giant! If you are diabetic, be aware that it makes you extra tired. As a type 1 I never had the 2nd trimester energy burst that everyone else seemed to have.

mildatheart · 13/01/2015 11:21

Jen I ordered a bright orange tuppence and crumble star wrap. It's probably the cutest thing I've ever seen and I'm excited my baby will look like a starfish. For it from the website under the brights section. 20 quid

WhyOWhyWouldYou · 13/01/2015 11:25

bangles £10 might not be too good to be true - I had a cheap footmuff for less than a tenner on my spare pushchair, and it was fine, quality was average.

BanglesSpangles · 13/01/2015 11:28

Jen yeah, it sort of looks like a bin liner!!

You're probably right, re not really needing it now, actually... you can't use the seat but until 6 months, which puts us at the middle of summer, although that said, the foot muff I found zips apart so there's just the bit the baby sits on which somewhere in my mind seems like a good idea as it'll be easier to whip it off and wash it rather than scrubbing the seat

I basically want to buy more stuff and have to justify it to myself :D

OP posts:
BanglesSpangles · 13/01/2015 11:34

ha- i thought that'd probably be the case, why

That said, for the price, i could buy 7 for the same as the proper uppababy one so I could just keep replacing... how environmentally unfriendly am I!

OP posts:
BanglesSpangles · 13/01/2015 11:35

oh hang on- you said might not be too good to be true- oops- read it wrong!!

OP posts:
Minichuch · 13/01/2015 11:37

Omg I'm trying to curb my spending on Jnr and you suddenly tell me about tuppence and crumble - I love the star wraps - what other websites are you all hiding!!!

BanglesSpangles · 13/01/2015 11:44

mini I've done exactly the same :D Bloody hell, why is there just so much stuff that I want to buy!!?

OP posts:
Grinningcat · 13/01/2015 11:54

Right it's official, my line manager want to replace me during my ML with TWO people! Maybe I should ask for a payrise?

BanglesSpangles · 13/01/2015 12:05

Ha- definitely, grinning!! I've been replaced by one and a half people too- was a bit of a shock to my boss, I think!

That said, I've clearly not got enough work to do at the moment, as ive spent most of the morning piddling about on mumsnet!

OP posts:
Grinningcat · 13/01/2015 12:15

Ha Bangles agree there with MN. However off to my 34 week mw appt in half an hour so I was never expecting myself to be particularly motivated this morning or this afternoon. Really hope the baby is no longer breech.

trukevoli · 13/01/2015 12:49

So after a horrific night I wake up with a migraine. Luckily working from home today so got to stay in bed for longer.

Just did a load of washing to put it on the line and decides to rain. I think today is not my day!

I love those star wraps. I am thinking of one of those for our coming home outfit as we don't know what we are having and if I send DP out to get an outfit the baby will probably be coming home dressed as a frog or some other bizarre creature.

Minichuch · 13/01/2015 13:47

truk we don't know what we are having either and I have agreed that dh can nip out and buy an outfit for Jnr to come home in - it seemed like a really good idea at the time and he is so excited that he gets to do that

Grinningcat · 13/01/2015 13:51

34 week mw appt went well. Baby has turned around and is no longer breech! Thank goodness for that Grin. At least that explains the changed movement and increased PGP pain etc starting end of last week. Also he/she has dropped and is on the verge of becoming engaged which my bestmate thought was the case on Sunday. Woo Hoo.

trukevoli · 13/01/2015 13:56

grinning - so glad he isn't breech. I remember the pain of mine flipping it was dreadful!

mini - DP would be really happy if I would let him but so far our outfits consist of snow leopard, panda, bear, polar bear, zebra and chicken!

Giantbabymama · 13/01/2015 14:30

Hi everyone. From what I can tell, Mild, I don't have it, but am at low end of "increased risk". I know that doing some walking and yoga and going easy in the carbs makes me feel better, it's just being motivated. I need to have a proper conversation with my doc when I see him on Thurs to establish what's going on. It can be confusing here.

GeekyHybrid · 13/01/2015 14:32

Good news grinning, glad the appointment went well.
We've just got back from a morning of running around so I'm absolutely knackered. I'll nap soon but trying to sit up a bit longer to let lunch settle, the indigestion is bad enough as it is! So our good news is that 2 years after his bowel op, OH is still cancer free and all looks good. Treated ourselves to tea and cake :-D Frustrated at Mothercare again, only half our order had been delivered though luckily they had the other bits in stock so we took those and they'll replace their stock with our delivery. Yeesh. Breezed Argos for sheets. Wholesaler to get sweets for youth club tuck shop - love choosing sweets :-D And then food shopping. I definitely deserve a nap.

For those with PGP, does it get progressively worse? I've got one hip that's started 'going' at times but passes if I stand there doing loads of weird leg swings / stretches etc.. Got a few funny looks on the High St. I'm just wondering if it's worth contacting physio in advance or just riding it out.

BanglesSpangles · 13/01/2015 14:49

Geeky- fab news about your DH

On the PGP front, I did some reading when I decided last week that I I was suffering with this, and the advice said to get it mentioned asap and get yourself referred for physio as it can get worse if you try to ignore it

Then I ignored my own advice, looked up a load of stretches, and have been doing those, and actually the symptoms I was suffering from (trouble going up stairs, separating knees, rolling over in bed, standing on one leg etc) do seem to be abating, so maybe they're doing the trick! I'm going to mention it to my MW on Friday anyway though

OP posts:
GeekyHybrid · 13/01/2015 15:04

Thanks bangles, I'll probably try just ride it out then. I'll get googling the 'correct' exercises though so far my monty pythonesque efforts have been working! I also figure with less than 4 weeks to go a referral may take longer anyways - I vaguely remember someone on here who was suffering quite badly having to wait for weeks. Some of the pregnancy 'side effects' are truly pants.
Right, got the snooker on, time to lay down for a nap.

blankfornames · 13/01/2015 15:44

My gosh...you ladies sure do move quickly! Welcome Mild and Giant. Don't worry ladies, I'm still the least organised person.. I'm without a buggy, mattress, blankets, monitors and many other very necessary things! As for a nursery... it's still being used as a laundry room for the moment!

Some brilliant advice here about what to put the baby sleeping in as a real smallie! I haven't bought anything in the line of blankets yet! That's good to know that Asda stuff is good quality. I might do an online shop now so.

Finally got my flu jab this morning...better late than never! It's been snowing really heavily here today and supposed to be going to my 35 week check up tomorrow in the hospital but it's over an hour away so might have to postpone it.

Quick question. at 31 weeks Bean was measuring a whooping 4lb 14. Both DH and I are tall. Something tells me that when (if) I get to 40 weeks that Bean probably won't fit into newborn clothes. Is it worth my while still getting some do you think?

WhyOWhyWouldYou · 13/01/2015 16:03

Blank me and DH are very tall. I come from a very tall family, who have big babies. DS was estimated to be huge. Yet when he was born a week overdue, he was a mere 7lb2oz. He was long but fitted newborn, although they were a little too baggy width ways. 0-3 on the other hand was gigantic - his skinny little body was totally lost in it.
