Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 19th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 36th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal clubs here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates! It's a bit quiet at the moment, but with all these upduffed viroids hopefully it won't be for long!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

So, roll call below please, viroids!

Well its the end of the working day for me here. But I am still going, in the hotel at least. I was surprised they ditched me. I thought I was going to be well looked after but I was just told 'theres the guy that does food' (rice and a tiny amount of sauce that was very spicy!) see you at 2pm. Worst thing is, there is nothing to do there! Site is in the middle of nowhere so just had to find somewhere to sit without being spotted and looking like snoopy! I am finding it a bit odd here. I leave on Friday, can't wait. Was meant to have Thursday to myself but someone mentioned me going back to site today so no idea if that will happen. Was hoping to go into town but its a distance away so need the day free really.

Sorry for the sad day la. I hope you do get over to say goodbye. And hopefully you'll see him again soon, it's not completely permanent that you'll never see him again is it?

pis, I do not accept four navel oranges as a size. That app/book is not even trying! Also unsure why you had to move sides. That needs fixing immediately!

LaLa5 · 13/01/2015 10:06

Pis tell him that's not how it works! My side is the right regardless of where we are and where door is!

It's ok - I've had long chats with her over past week and I can come visit him. She's also said I can come and ride him after baby. She's really picked up the slack in the past week, started schooling and learned to lunge him. It's incredible what becoming responsible for vet bills can do for someone's willingness! She appreciates now that just hacking him is not going to keep him fit and he needs a bit more. I can't ask more of this, he's going to be loved.

My ms came back last night that's why I wasn't online.

Just had a giant poo after 2 days constipated. I feel amazing so sorry about tmi! I find as long as I drink loads of water I'm fine but yesterday I was dehydrated.

Went to hygienist yesterday and I have first stage fun disease. Had teeth checked 5 months ago and they were fine so it's pregnancy related. If you've not had yours checked it's worth doing, my gums were bleeding loads!

I'm 14 weeks today and my baby is a lemon!

LaLa5 · 13/01/2015 10:14

Gum disease not fun disease! I wish it was fun disease that sounds awesome!

Dulcet sorry you're having a horrible trip :( it doesn't sound fun. Home soon though x

We have decided to buy the snuzpod, my mum thinks it's awesome and wishes it existed when she had babies.

Also I spoke to my sil in NYC yesterday, who's due early June. I feel really sorry for her. Unfortunately she's never been around children, has no friends with children (she's a socialite) and has no family out there. She's been reading GF and tried to tell me that this was brilliant and I should try it! Hmm

Not a chance am I reading and taking parenting advice from a woman who's never had children. I read some stuff on her last night and Harvard scientists were saying what she advises (ie controlled crying) could have long term adverse effects. Plus she's not taking into account maternal hormones/bond that could make such an experience very stressful for the mother.

I have suggested sil read a variety of books not just GF.

I don't think I'm going to read any parenting books, just the ones that teach me the practical side eg telling correct water temp, nappy changing etc. I think you can read too much

Fleurchamp · 13/01/2015 10:24

I agree la I decided from the off that I am just going to go with my gut instinct. My sister did that and she has two gorgeous children who sleep in their own beds.

All children are different, "training" make work for some but not all.

I don't think I will be able to resist cuddling our baby if he/ she is upset. For my own sanity I couldn't do controlled crying. Although I have asked DH to buy me noise cancelling headphones for my birthday Grin

Thanks la for reminding me, have booked a hygienist appointment Grin

Pisghetti · 13/01/2015 10:26

'fun disease' love it! I went to the dentist a short while ago. My gums have been bleeding quite badly but he didn't seem too concerned. Will try and go again while it is free! I remember my baby being a lemon - I think DS made some crack about it taking after its mother Hmm

Fleur no we don't fully live together but we spend most evenings together either at my place or his so we sort of do - but across two houses. I need to stay in the area I live in as that's where DS goes to school. He's got two and a half years of secondary left. DP has a great place about 35-40mins away which we don't particularly want to sell (he can't rent it out - conditions of the lease). When DS finishes school we'll all move in together properly (and probably rent my place out). I didn't want to put off TTC until we move in together as I'm not getting any younger and I might want to squeeze another one out

ChatEnOeuf · 13/01/2015 10:32

Pis if you can't rearrange the room so that your side is not near the door, LTB is the only option Grin

Mama's instinct is the best guide you can have - I also pick up crying babies and cuddle them. But I also laughed a lot at the MN guide to babies, and DH bought me the Dr Sears baby book - practical and kind in it's approach but massive.

It's pissing it down here and I have to leave in an hour...bah.

Fleurchamp · 13/01/2015 10:38

pis I think you have a good arrangement Smile my DH travels a lot for work. He is pretty much away for the next two weeks and I quite enjoy it! I spend time with friends and family and generally do stuff he is not interested in.
I feel bad going out when he is here (he doesn't go out much with his friends) as he gets all glum on his own. He also gets all huffy about cooking dinner (he is happy to cook for us both but on his own he will just have toast or a bowl of cereal).

He has told work that he will not travel for at least a year once the baby is here Hmm

laurenamium · 13/01/2015 11:25

I've just picked DD up from nursery and another child has cut her hair and face with scissors Sad teachers were mortified and very apologetic and I know these things happen with children but I still feel a bit outraged probably unreasonably

willywallace · 13/01/2015 11:44

God Lauren that's awful! These things do happen I suppose but not sure about leaving pre school children unattended with scissors. Is she ok? Could have been a lot worse, imagine she'd been poked in the eye with them or something.

My friend who does GF told me she doesn't advocate controlled crying. I always thought she did but haven't actually read her book so couldn't comment back. I actually think some babies just have a grizzle when they're tired and sometimes you make it worse by picking them up and stuff. But I couldn't leave one which was screaming.

LaLa5 · 13/01/2015 11:44

Wow! Lauren that could have been nasty! Why were they using scissors unsupervised?

EssiesInvisibleLlama · 13/01/2015 12:09

Blimey re the scissors! Glad she is ok and not surprised they were mortified. My niece cut her own hair when I was meant to be looking after her. Ooops. SIL not amused as she is obsessed with image. I was in the room, but was busy plaiting my little ponies as had been demanded and DC managed to snip hair when I was concentrating, made me realise just how much you have to keep an eye on small people, v important lesson learned for me that day!

Sorry for radio silence viroids. I've been sick. Sad Antibiotics worked, but then as soon as I stopped them I got terrible fever and chills and aching again. Dr has no idea what's wrong, I've been back again this morning for blood tests. Really worried about what it's doing to baby. I'm 8 weeks today and for the past 3 weeks have had fever, chills and eventually kidney infection, which was probably brewing the whole time. Off work again today as can't muster the energy to do anything but am managing to work from home a bit to make me feel a bit better about dropping them in it. Got early scan on Thurs to see what's going on. Tbh I'm dreading it. DH is v calm and thinks all will be well because he always thinks that.

Pisghetti · 13/01/2015 12:13

How did a child that young have scissors? Shock Hope your DD is ok.

I did CC with DS at about nine months but by then we'd established the difference between 'I need you' crying and 'I'm tired and need sleep' crying. He was always a good sleeper but got into a pattern of grizzling at bedtime which the CC sorted out. I think nursery was making him more tired than he had been before. I don't see how you can 'train' a very small baby (I did have a routine for bedtime but that was more for me than him!). I've never read GF though so can't comment specifically.

laurenamium · 13/01/2015 12:13

I'm not sure on the supervision, but they all have access to those children's scissors in the gluing area and the writing area. They have access to hammers and saws in the woodwork area too so at least it wasn't a hammer! Grin She's okay and you can't really tell that her hairs been cut, I'm just grateful it wasn't an eye!

Sorry you've been feeling sick essie

EssiesInvisibleLlama · 13/01/2015 12:15

Who is GF? Blush

minimooo · 13/01/2015 12:21

Oh no, lauren that's awful. Your poor dd.

Sorry you're not having a good time dulcet. Really crappy of them to leave you on your own for lunch. Hope the rest of the week flies by quick, so you can get home.

Hope today goes OK la, sad day Sad Positive that the lady is now taking things a bit more seriously though - that must be reassuring.

Sorry to hear you're feeling so poorly essie. Hope it clears up soon. Try to take it easy and rest up. When will you get the blood test results back?

I'm feeling all organised as I've sent all my Maternity Allowance forms off this morning and am arranging a suspension of studies from uni. Annoyingly, though, uni have taken money from my account (despite the suspension) and now I'm trying to get it refunded. Been trying to contact them for over a week with no joy Angry

Hope the rain stops for you chat!

EssiesInvisibleLlama · 13/01/2015 12:57

Hi moo that's annoying, hope you get refund without too much of a battle!

They said blood results would be in Friday! Honestly when horse has to have blood tests I get the results next day, though I guess I do have to pay an extortionate amount for the privilege.

willywallace · 13/01/2015 13:00

What are you studying Mini?

Gina Ford Essie.

willywallace · 13/01/2015 13:01

Sorry you're feeling so crap Essie. Are you back on more antibiotics then?

EssiesInvisibleLlama · 13/01/2015 13:09

Willy they didn't want to give me more antibiotics again as no sign of UTI this time and actually lab said no bacteria in sample last time either which would indicate no infection was present at any point, but I had all the symptoms of kidney infection and it cleared up with antibiotics, and then as soon as I stopped them the fever, chills, aching, exhaustion etc all came back. Weird. I felt amazing on Sat and Sun which were the last 2 days of the antibiotics. Being a mystery makes me feel uneasy!

Going to google Gina Ford now and see what she is about, sounds a bit mad to me.

EssiesInvisibleLlama · 13/01/2015 13:13

Ah yes, as soon as I googled her and saw her face I knew who she was. I remember reading an article about her once, it wasn't very complimentary.

willywallace · 13/01/2015 13:47

How strange. Hope they find out what it is soon, that sounds horrible.

Yes I think GF is a bit highly strung! Apparently you get in trouble for slagging her off on MN as she is likely to sue. (Allegedly Wink ).

lildottie · 13/01/2015 13:53

surely you can't sue for not liking someone else's opinion!!? Hmm Confused

la glad to hear she's more on track now. hope you get a nice goodbye.

dulcet what arises. refuse to go on site Thursday! I bloody would. unless you'd otherwise be bored and would rather be there

should probably go do some more tax returns.

LaLa5 · 13/01/2015 13:53

Essie I'm so sorry it sounds like you're having a rubbish time with illness :(

Yes she sued MN once

minimooo · 13/01/2015 14:45

Friday?! Blimey, that's a long wait for you essie. Hope they can get you some answers from the results.

I'm doing my MA in Ancient Religions at the moment wil. I only do it part-time so it's not too taxing on the brain! Working towards doing a phd at some point in the future (hopefully). I have been dreaming of becoming a lecturer in Ancient/Medieval History in the future, but not sure if my life plan will allow for that. Dh is very keen for me to commit to his company 100% (plus we'll hopefully have at least two littl'uns and I'm not getting any younger either) so we'll see how it goes!

Fleurchamp · 13/01/2015 14:57

I would love that minimoo I studied classics at uni. Love a bit of ancient history
