Sunshine glad your boss is being understanding. There is no plan for me to reduce my workload ?? but thankfully I only work 3 days a week.

Chook glad your results were good. I remember when we went through the nuchal test results wait.

I'm going to a Cantonese restaurant with work today for someone's leaving do. I'm putting off finding something to wear as I have quite a few maternity clothes but nothing really dressy for the few times I go out. I think I'll only go for the meal not onto bars afterwards as there's no point watching everyone enjoy my favourite cocktails!

Sunshinesaz86 · 17/01/2015 11:33

turqoise i dont think my boss has much choice as apparently according to the risk assessor it is our 'company policy' said pregnant staff shouldn't actually be doing any unaccompanied appointments after 20 weeks, i am currently 23+2 and am expected to keep doing my appointments at the moment until around 29/30 weeks but again that is dependent on how i am physcially, so if at any stage i say i cannot do anymore they cant really say anything!

Enjoy your day today, i had something similar prior to christmas where the bar staff made me some fantastic non alcohlic cocktails but not it's quite the same! I hope you find something to wear, go for smart cas/comfort! :)

kittiker · 17/01/2015 11:49

Yay! My gestational diabetes test came back normal. I am just this thirsty in pregnancy! Hope everyone manages a restful, lovely weekend.

Threesoundslikealot · 17/01/2015 12:02

Fantastic! Have some cake.

leanne963 · 17/01/2015 13:20

Thanks mum it's just so disheartening I just want things to go smooth without worrying about spotting! Luckily it's pretty much stopped after yesterday's small 'release'...

No turquoise cause I didn't need to go in as he spotting calmed down and I could feel her moving around!

Thank you mslad and kitty I never want to see blood ever again ha!

Hope everyone is having a lovely Saturday!! Bought our pram today so pretty much sorted now!!

leanne963 · 17/01/2015 13:21

Aww that's great news kittiker

Sunshinesaz86 · 17/01/2015 14:25

thats great news kittiker.

Glad you've found a pram leanne its so exciting making a start on getting all the essentials.

Scottishgal78 · 17/01/2015 14:54

Great news kittiker

leanne963 · 17/01/2015 15:46

Yes sunshine the pram was the thing confusing me the most so I went and pushed a few around and hated the heavy chunky ones so got a very light model even though it has a small basket! Lol

BeanCalledPickle · 17/01/2015 19:35

I went on an Nct refresh course today. Apart from one woman I would have merrily bunched it was good! firstly because she is also calling her baby luna, secondly because she came out with utter shit like I don't know why people bother to have kids if they don't plan to breastfeed and I need to be back in my jeans in three weeks as I may be a mum but I'm also someone's wife. FUCK OFF

Anyway it was actually quite good. It reminded me of all the stuff I'd forgotten, glossed over or have chosen to never think about. Also put me back in new baby zone. Which is scary! Lots of tips for managing a toddler and new born which were really helpful. Also a lot more realistic than first time round when it was more aspirational. They can't really pretend you can breath through when talking to a bunch of women who all had interventions, drugs and cesereans! So I would Deffo recommend it to second timers. Nice people apart from that bloody woman!!

LinaDee · 17/01/2015 20:34

Hi everyone,

Has anyone indulged in a very SMALL glass of wine? My DH opened a bottle of white and I'm so tempted to have a wee glass ConfusedConfused

In a total battle with myself!!!
At most I'd have half a small glass if I did!

leanne963 · 17/01/2015 20:37

Oh god bean that lady sounds like an absolute twat. I hate this 'mum shaming' that goes on, just cause someone doesn't do something the same way as you doesn't mean they are wrong. What a knob. Also Luna is a very cute name!!

lina I had a very very small glass of cava on new years! Should be fine, enjoy that wine!!!

longestlurkerever · 17/01/2015 20:52

Yes I had one on Christmas day and one on nye too. Small amounts really don't hurt. I just don't generally ttust myself to stick to small amounts so would rather abstain.

What a plonker. I think I would have laughed out loud. Did anyone pull her up on it? Hadn't thought of a refresher course but may look into it. Was it expensive?

BeanCalledPickle · 17/01/2015 20:56

Hundred or so quid? It's difficult to tell a virtual stranger quite what you think though I did find the comments absolutely bizarre. I will demonstrate my dislike by avoiding her as far as possible. She also said her husband told her she had to breastfeed for 18 months!! If I was told what to do with MY body k wouldn't be impressed!!

Chookford · 17/01/2015 22:20

kitti congrats on good test results!

ellstor · 17/01/2015 22:35

Is anyone feeling kicks really low down? Am 22 weeks and I think I have felt the by belly button maybe once or twice - they always seem so low and constantly only bladder!

Scottishgal78 · 17/01/2015 22:36

I'm also someone's wife! That made me lol!Grin

Scottishgal78 · 17/01/2015 23:03

ellstor yeah mine are low down and he seems to have a party on my bladder!

leanne963 · 17/01/2015 23:09

ellstor yea some days she is really low and will do a good kick to the bladder and I will feel like I am about to piss myself. But tonight she has been high and I can feel her above my belly button!

Chookford · 17/01/2015 23:12

ellstor I'm the same as leanne I go from really low to high, think that's quite normal as they have so much room to spin and stretch out!

Blondie87 · 18/01/2015 08:35

Talking of kicks, is it possible to be kicked in the cervix? Normally feel kicks just below the tummy button but sometimes it feels very low and a bit tender. Think I've also had a couple of bladder kicks! This little one kicks far more at weekends too, probably because I'm more relaxed and notice it more.
Oo Leanne excited for you about the pram! Which one did you go for? I'm sadly excited to take DH pram shopping today after I did a preliminary one myself last weekend. How's everyone doing with baby names? I've only found two boys' names that DH & I like/can imagine calling our little baby.

KittyVonCatsington · 18/01/2015 09:18

Bean I'd have pissed myself laughing at that woman-sounds like a character from a Chick Lit book Grin

I have partaken in some alcohol leanne. When announcing at 12 weeks, I had a small glass of Prosecco. On 4th Dec on wedding anniversary, I had a small glas of Pinot Noir, Christmas Eve I had a mulled wine, Christmas Day I had a bottle of craft beer at 3%vol bought espesh for me, New Years Eve I had another small glass of Pinot Noir and last weekend on Bumpmoon, I had another small glass of house red wine. I figure the fact I can count what I had, it has been spread out and red wine contains lots of iron, I can't feel too guilty! I plan to have a small wine on my birthday in two weeks and again on Valentines Day Blush

kittiker so pleased with your results!

ellstor I am feeling kicks, punches and shuffles everywhere! Yesterday, one of my cats started to "knead" my bump and Kitlet obviously didn't like it and I had one fierce kick back that freaked out the cat! Also, as I was snuggling up in bed, Kitlet got busy again and whole sides of my tummy were shifting and moving...particularly wierd was my now flat belly button sinking in the middle as the sides were rising. God knows what she is doing in there! but I love it! Grin

blondie I am struggling with girls names! We had a boys name already sorted but I didn't for a girl. Now, I can't seem to make up my mind! Am hoping the longer I leave it, the more chance I have for divine inspiration! DH has already vetoed Kitty, Hee Hee!

Bazza2 · 18/01/2015 09:27

Blondie we can't agree on any names at all. Judging by the names dp suggests, he thinks I am giving birth to a 57 year old accountant. Bloody good job I'm only 21+5, this could take a while. I also didn't realise until now how annoying it is when people make 'hilarious' suggestions.

LinaDee · 18/01/2015 09:42

Bazza - my DH and I had this problem too. His taste in names (particularly for girls) is truly awful in my opinion and he didn't understand the "age" connection with some names.
Some of his (entirely serious) suggestions for a girl at one point were - Mary, Caroline, Frances - and that was it!!! Hmm

I feel your pain!!!

leanne963 · 18/01/2015 09:58

Blondie we went for he Graco Symbio. It is sold exclusively through Toys r Us so it was a bargain for pram and carry cot (we already have a car seat) it was £190. We pushed the silvercross ones around but felt too heavy for what we wanted!

Names have been really difficult I really wanted Evelyn at the beginning but i noticed lots of Facebook friends has little girls called Evelyn so it put me off. Now we are set of Imogen, with my grans middle name which is Agnes. So Imogen Agnes which I think has a very old fashioned but cool ring to it! But I understand names are a very personal thing and my nan was the best person in the world and I just see love and kindness with that name! I couldn't think of a boys name I liked, so I am glad she made my life that little bit easier by being a girl.
