Hello ladies. I got my BFP (bloody faint positive in my case) on Monday and am due on 3rd September. I couldn't see any other threads for next September so thought I would go ahead and create a little home for us over the coming months. Merry Christmas to all of you finding out about your extra Christmas Present over the next few days Grin .

Natalie, I hope you get somewhere with the docs!! But at least if it's stopped, it could have just been some old implantation bleeding. I've been reading the info on BanyCentre.co.uk and it's been quite helpful. A little bit of bleeding can be normal apparently, hopefully that's all it is/was!

I had my results earlier - progesterone is the right level, and HCG too, for 14DPO. Doc said it was super early and looked quite surprised I knew - they don't sell FRERs in Thailand or any tests that show pregnancy before your period is late,so I think I was her first ever patient to go in knowing so early!!! Lol. I'm happy that my PCOS hasn't screwed my hormones up for this big moment anyway!! I'm back in for a 6 week scan on 22 Jan. I guess I just need to relax and think about something else until then?!!? AS IF!!! Pahahahaha!!! This first bit is going to really draaaaaaaaag isn't it!! Or be over fast... Argh...!!! ConfusedShockBlushGrin

always - I know what you mean about the world being full of things you can't have!! I just ate a prawn pad thai from a Bangkok street food stall, so frankly I'm screwed over here!! And having my boozy family over is killing me!!

Wishing you all tons of luck for NYE tomorrow. Anyone got any good 'pretending to drink' tactics?! My new one is getting DH to switch our glasses every time he's drunk his... Lol... He ends up pretty smashed but we both have to share this delightful burden, right?! GrinWine

nutelladipper · 30/12/2014 19:05

Thanks great news chandlers.

I got through our boozy night with friends last night by drinking vodka and coke but without the vodka! People were shocked I wasn't on the wine (clearly a reputation!) but I just said I'd had a few very drunken nights on the run up to Crimbo on wine so needed a break! Seem to believe it.

Xx

GinFace · 30/12/2014 19:26

Natalie if it makes you feel any better at all, I had a lot of brown discharge at 6/7 weeks with my first pregnancy. He's now 3.5 years old, sound asleep snoring upstairs Grin

Hope everyone is well today.

NatalieBee · 30/12/2014 20:09

Thanks Gin and Chandlers :) still away at the moment so hesitantly feeling a bit more optimistic! My GP said that at my smear a couple of weeks ago my nurse wrote she thought my period would be arriving as she seen some blood, so this could just be that implantation bleeding from then moving down! I bloddy hope so :)

How's everyone feeling today? I vomited for the first time officially today...was not pleasant breakfast isn't as nice coming back up as it is going down ShockWink

LittleSesameSeed · 30/12/2014 20:12

Hi everyone - can I tentatively join? Got my BFP yesterday with a very faint line and today a darker line on a clear blue test! Feeling very anxious following an early mc in late October but excited at the same time! I am 28 and have one dd who is 14 months.

Sending lots of sticky thoughts to everyone! XxSmile

Galaxy2014 · 30/12/2014 20:16

Hi All,
I'm going to jump on this thread as I'm between late Aug / Beg Sept and have a quick question. I went to the docs to say I was pregnant before Christmas and they gave me the midwives number to call. I've called and given them my details etc but not yet had a letter through for an appointment.

How have your bookings gone? i.e do you get an 8 week apt then a 12 week scan? I was wondering if you get a letter through the post - I have no idea (this is my first) and I can't remember what she said on the phone. Was too excited that I found out I was pregnant lol.

I'll give the midwife a ring on Monday but was curious to see where everyone is?

NatalieBee · 30/12/2014 20:35

Hi Galaxy, I rung my doctors and they gave me a date for booking in over the phone it is 13th Jan so I'll be around 8 weeks! I have an early scan on the 8th of January as well due to recurrent miscarriage :) but I'm sure it's usually booking in app around 8 weeks and then after you'll get your 12 weeks appt!

mrsdos · 30/12/2014 20:55

Evening Ladies, after seeing the dr last week I was given a midwife app for today as not sure how far along I am (no af since coming off pill). Was made to feel a complete fool for being there too early by the midwife even when I explained the dr had told me to see her sooner. Another app made for two weeks time now, was made to feel I was wasting her time! Sad

GinFace · 31/12/2014 08:46

Mrsdos sorry to hear that. It's rubbish when they make you feel small. Change midwives - it seems drastic but you will need someone you like to support you and it will make such a difference. My midwife with DS1 was amazing, like a mum!

I haven't even made a Dr appt yet - I've forgotten if I need to do that or can just go straight to a midwife??

TheMidnightHour · 31/12/2014 09:11

Good morning! Hope all is going well & no one woke up to an unpleasant surprise. Personally, I can't really believe this is going to result in a baby - after so long TTC, it just seems implausible. Like: no, we tested that theory. Turns out the stork delivering thing was right after all >.<

mrsdos I agree with gin about changing midwives. I don't understand why some people are so snippy if you don't follow their exact rules anyway - how are you supposed to know?

Natalie thanks for the info - I need to find a new GP as mine's on mat leave and we've just moved anyway, but at least I don't need to stress about doing it this week! Hope everything's going well for you today :) At this stage, I don't know whether to wish nausea on you or not - I'm taking it as a good sign, but I'm not a fan.

Chandlers pretending to drink tactics - how about being the designated driver? Doesn't work at home of course. Or drinking something weird, like orange and bacardi, that no one else wants so you can make your own (without the bacardi). How are you finding Thailand? I was there for 2 weeks in the summer, just in very touristy bits though, but it was great fun. Bet the weather's a bit nicer than here (UK) too!

nutelladipper · 31/12/2014 09:30

Hi all, I've woken up with a crappy cold. Boo.

Well my last appointment of 2014 is a trip to the GPs to be referred whoop. My first booking in apt was 8 wks but with dd it was more like 10 wks. They sent letter in post and the mw also called a day or two before.

ChandlersFarang · 31/12/2014 12:09

No nasty surprises in Thailand this morning! Midnight I feel exactly the same - after not even ovulating for 5 months and totally changing my psychology to waiting for IVF, this is quite bananas. I've resorted to testing every morning to check the lines get darker - that was working on the FRERs but am out of those now so moved on to ICs... Got a hint of a line yesterday and today at 15DPO not much different, gah! Still got a million symptoms going strong - balloon tits with the occasional shooty pain, constant dull cramping, plus earlier I burst into tears when my visiting brother said he enjoyed his lunch we bought him (happy tears, but still, wtf?!!). Trying to forget about it, but it's so hard isn't it! Grin

Nutella I also woke up with a cold and a sore throat - I think this is also normal from what I've read as our immune systems bend to accommodate the bean. Lovely timing for NYE!! ShockConfused

Yeah Thailand is pretty nice at the moment Midnight!! It's the 'winter' so it's actually possible to be out and about and not get hot. I was actually a little bit cold coming home last night which was a first!! Where did you go when you were here?

ChandlersFarang · 31/12/2014 12:14

Thanks for the pretending to drink tactics by the way!! We are going to an event at a bar/restaurant on the river where drinks will be served to us which makes it a bit of a challenge... We don't drive here so can't play that one! I've been googling other ideas and come up with a treasure trove in case helpful to you guys later:

  • if forced to do a shot, go ahead, but hold it in your mouth (don't swallow) then grab a different drink to 'help wash it down' but actually spit it back into the bottle/glass discreetly (I practiced this at my desk earlier and it worked, love it!!)
  • order the same drinks as DH and slyly swap glasses all night once he's drunk some (this is my tried and tested one!)
  • discreetly collude with the waitress, tell her I'm preggo, and ask her that every drink I order is made without the alcohol.

Boom!! GrinGrinGrin

nutelladipper · 31/12/2014 12:56

That sounds like a great plan! I'm at home tonight so will just go to bed.

I've still no symptoms apart from exhaustion. I'm so tired my kids are bearing the brunt. When I was pregnant with DS I was only tired for the first 12 weeks and the last few. With dd I was tired/exhausted from start to finish. I'm hoping I'll be the same as first time. It's so hard. I had to explain to hubby this isn't just "I've had a bad night sleep type tired" it's a "I've not slept for a week type tired". It irritates me when I mention how exhausted I am and he says "me too" . Gggrrrrr.

No other symptoms which worries me.

NatalieBee · 31/12/2014 13:16

I'm so glad you mentioned the cramps you have been having Nutella! I've been having niggly cramps but no more brown spotting for a few days! I seem to be having most my symptoms at night time! Nausea, heartburn, light cramping, peeing central, appetites gone (tried to eat potato bread for lunch and got 2 bites!) the only thing I want is chocolate lol!!

Hope everyone has a fab New Year's Eve, I'm spending it with with mock tails in with my hubby and food Wink

NatalieBee · 31/12/2014 13:23

Woops chandlers* not Nutella! sorry ??

TheMidnightHour · 31/12/2014 13:51

Love the non-drinking tips. I think I'm going to have to be 'des' though, as switching from pints to mocktails might be a bit of a giveaway. Now I see why my nan said a lady should stick to G&T! Another thought - if you're out with non-locals, could you order plain drinks in Thai perhaps?

About a year ago, being told that we'd have to wait another 12 months for a referral, after being told that 2 years was definitely it, DP and I planned and went on a 6-month round-the-world trip. It was absolutely brilliant - and I must say that if you're going to be weeping in a restaurant because AF has turned up suddenly and painfully, 2 days late and dashed all your hopes, it's much better to be doing it Far Far Away.

Our last stop before flying back to Europe was Thailand. We had a bit more than a week on Phuket (Rawaii Beach and some diving) then overnight train to Bangkok (great fun) and a few days exploring the city before our epic flight back. It was a bit of a whoosh through, like a taster menu rather than a proper dive-in-and-settle, but brilliant nonetheless.

Mummytogoldie · 31/12/2014 16:12

Nutella I haven't got any symptoms either and it's really worrying me as had a mc 4 weeks ago :( I did cry at an advert yesterday so suppose that could be a symptom lol x

threeberries · 31/12/2014 17:18

Hi can I join think my edd is 31st August. Got my bfp on Christmas Day! This will be my third already have d's (5) and dd (3)Grin . have read up thread and for those ladies with some bleeding it's not always bad. I bled all the way through my second pregnancy and baby was fine. Thanks

nutelladipper · 31/12/2014 18:10

Welcome threeberries. We have the same due date I think. I too have two children ds 4, dd 2.

Just back from Drs. He was a prat but hey ho. Refuse to let him ruin my last pregnancy with negative comments! So I need to sit & wait for the mw booking in appointment which he said will be when I'm 7-10 wks.

Happy new year all.
X

NatalieBee · 31/12/2014 19:46

Welcome berries! Is anyone else bloddy sweating? I feel like a walking sauna!

DorothyBastard · 31/12/2014 21:02

Hi all, can I join in? I got my BFP today and from my first tentative calculations I'm due around 8th September. I'm so excited! I already have a 22mo DD and got married in
September.

ChandlersFarang · 01/01/2015 06:19

Hi berries and Dorothy!!! Congratulations to you both!! Grin

Happy New Year everyone - I hope
It's good to us all!! Smile

The booze-free NYE went v well as I was able to order my own drinks all night so was on the soda water with limes in a short glass (G&Ts in disguise!) followed by a virgin piña colada.. Lovely!!

My excitement at passing this challenge has waned today as I did another IC (have been testing every day) and the line is getting fainter! So I did a FRER - still have a line but it was fainter than those I did at 12&13DPO! Argh now I'm super paranoid that I'm slowly losing it (although no blood, and my symptoms are still there - boobs worse than ever this morning). The rational part if my brain is reminding me that I drank a ton of water last night and there was only 6 hrs between my last pee before bed and the FMU I used today, so could have been more diluted pee (prev tests I was v dehydrated, the first one I was really hung over!!) but it's so hard not to leap to the worst conclusion! Am flying down to Koh Samui today with my family which is a good distraction, so have just packed a CB digi which I will do tomorrow morning. This is not easy is it!!!!!!! ShockShockShockShock

GinFace · 01/01/2015 07:34

Hello to everyone who has joined

And happy new year to you all...and your bumps of course Grin

I was in bed at 9pm last night. BLISS.

nutelladipper · 01/01/2015 08:29

Me too Gin. I was grumpy to be woken by fireworks at midnight!!

Chandler I do hope the CB does the job and you get a good positive. X
