Hello ladies. I got my BFP (bloody faint positive in my case) on Monday and am due on 3rd September. I couldn't see any other threads for next September so thought I would go ahead and create a little home for us over the coming months. Merry Christmas to all of you finding out about your extra Christmas Present over the next few days Grin .

I hope everything turns out fine for you Monty, I have my fx'd. I've not taken my temperature during early pregnancy before tbh, although I did have it drop as low as 35.6C a few times when I was bbt charting. I read up on it a bit at the time and it's possibly something to do with the thyroid gland not quite doing what it should.
Anyway, I don't really know much, just wanted to say it's not necessarily what you may think. Flowers

nutelladipper · 16/01/2015 18:44

Sorry all, I'm struggling to keep up and don't get chance to post much but I hope all those have difficulties are ok. Fingers crossed for positive outcomes all round.

8 weeks today. Whoop. Booking in on Wednesday.

Dailylurker I'm hoping to be considered for a csection due to two assisted deliveries the most reason where dd shoulder got stuck. I was worried they wouldn't consider giving me one and I'd have really fight for it. So interested to read that was the way the medical lot have gone with you!

BB01 · 16/01/2015 19:07

That's interesting Puddle about the naps! Thanks.

I'm only about 4-5 weeks so very early days! Hopefully you'll feel much better during second trimester. I know right now that seems ages off but it'll soon come round hopefully. Not too worried about picking DD up but am lucky she is titchy! Can imagine I'll be knackered later on though. I still can't cook dinner without her clinging to me some days. How baby weeks are you?

BB01 · 16/01/2015 19:09

Hello Poco!! I wrote that before I had any clue about your news. So exciting! Hope these are successful pregnancies for both of us. I am struggling to not post my news on the fbook group but would feel bad as not told my parents yet!

DeladionInch · 16/01/2015 19:18

I'm lucky in that D's is potty trained. I'll tackle the cot to bed transition when I absolutely have to! I won't be giving up my slings any time soon though, far more comfortable than ending up lugging him around in my arms!

ShootTheMoon · 16/01/2015 19:20

Monty, if it's any consolation at all, I had high BP, occasionally dangerously high, during my first pg. It was already high by 8 weeks so technically it is chronic hypertension, not gestational hypertension. But I had low-medium BP before and after the pregnancy. I had a lot of BP/blood/urine tests throughout but remained well and delivered naturally, with some medication during labour and for a few months after.

Hypertension itself isn't always a serious problem but it does of course need close monitoring. Good luck.

Can I ask for some advice re early reassurance scans?
I have booked one for next Thursday when I'll be 7+2 but worrying about wether this is too early and should i wait 1 more week til im 8+2.
I would worry more if it was too early to detect a hearbeat!
What do people think?
TIA

Chuch21 · 16/01/2015 19:38

Hi all!

I found out only a couple of days ago I'm around 4-6 weeks pg! Have booked a booking/dating scan for 4 weeks time.

The news was a huge shock, and I was taking the contraceptive pill right up until I found out, which I'm slightly worried about. Although the pregnancy wasn't planned we're very excited. Turns out I'm a huge worrier though, it just doesn't feel real yet and I'm terrified of doing something wrong... I've not had any sickness, my first sign being growing/sore boobs, but I am having cramps in my stomach and down my legs. More so in the evening.

Reading this thread has made me feel a lot better as the period like cramps were scaring me! Was also quite surprised my doctor didn't do another test to double check? (Well, triple, I did 2)

Having worked everything out I think my guesstimate due date would be 7th-14th September.

FlyingSpud · 16/01/2015 19:46

Somewhere, yes you should definitely see a heartbeat at 7+2. I saw mine at 6+4. They are generally detectable from six weeks.

Tallalime · 16/01/2015 19:59

Hi Chuch and welcome.

I am 4+5 today and I have had a couple of leg cramps too. I remember them from being pregnant with DD (8 years ago Shock ) and I think it has something to do with potassium so I used to have a banana and a glass oc milk before bed - I used to get them in the middle of the night, bloody awful things.

May have been an old wives tale but seemed to do the trick.

I too will have my fingers crossed for you Monty. I've not had the low temps but high BP was a definite issue for me with DD. At one point after she was born it went up to 250/120. Yay for beta blockers I say Smile

When are we all due? My edd is 21st but will be having a CS at 38 weeks (if all goes well).

FlyingSpud · 16/01/2015 20:13

Tallalime I remember the leg cramps! Aggghhhh.

Want to know how gassy I was today? I FARTED ON THE TRAIN HOME. LOUDLY. The man next to me heard. For fuck's sake. To be honest it was such a relief I'm not sure I care.

Chuch21 · 16/01/2015 20:25

Thanks Tallalime, I just bought bananas today so will give that a go!

Haha FlyingSpud, I have been suffering with gas too... No embarrassing encounters yet though!

brickiemum2 · 16/01/2015 20:36

For those who have had bp issues in the past I want to run my thoughts past you if you don't mind...
With my dd I had fluctuating bp on and off and then at 34 weeks it went up to 155/105. They diagnosed pih and gave betablockers. I had every side effect going plus feeling so weak and dizzy when I stood up. Bp came down to 120/70 whenever it was taken. I went in for induction and had quite a fast birth but hasn't taken any labetalol at all during the process and never did again. They rechecked my bp when I was serenely stitting feeding and it was around 120/78 with no meds.
Here's what confuses me though......
Since then I have been in and out of the doctors with potential essential hypertension as I was always getting 155/105 type readings. That was until my own gp realised that I have white coat syndrome and tense up and hold my breath when getting my bp checked. She got me to relax and use a bit of self hypnosis and if my bp is checked 3 times over 10 mins I can get it down to normal by myself.
So.......
Did I ever have pih or was it the white coat syndrome? I did have signs of low bp on the meds. As soon as I gave birth and was very relaxed my bp came right down on its own (perhaps purely bbc because I wasn't tense?). My bp never did go up to those scary levels that others talk about when pih/pe is talked about. I've since shown that 150/105 is normal for me if I'm tense when being tested and that I can bring it down myself.
Obviously I'll discuss this with the mw etc but I don't want to be forced into treatment that may not be necessary.

Tallalime · 16/01/2015 20:53

I'm not sure. White coat syndrome is a bitch though. I am terrible at hospital and after DD they wouldn't let me leave until my BP came down. which it didn't... I discharged myself i the end and it was back in normal range within 48hr.

My question (sorry) does anyone else have an excess of discharge? I keep thinking I have started to bleed, feels like the start of AF but it's not. I don't remember this from last time.

brickiemum2 · 16/01/2015 20:56

Yes, it's really normal at this stage. Iirc it's your bodies way of flushing out and preventing bacteria from getting into your uterus while the plug is forming.

Chuch21 · 16/01/2015 21:03

Tallalime, I'm having excess and have made a few nervous loo trips to make sure... Having no experience myself I don't want to give any advice but I've been advised it's the body being extra cautious and flushing out/protecting you from bacteria and infections entering.

Dailylurker · 16/01/2015 21:06

Nutella - I didn't want a section which is why they are going down this route, if you are concerned and want a Cs then I can't imagine there will be a battle it does seem the norm. I will have a 22 month old to chase around after and teenagers that need taxiing about so I was worried about being out of action! xx

Tallalime · 16/01/2015 21:07

Thank you Grin

That definitely sounds about right, but my last PG was so long ago that I can't really remember the start of it.

I do remember my boobs were never sore - stayed the same size througout. This time they hurt like hell (on and off) and I swear they are bigger already.

Chuch21 · 16/01/2015 21:16

Boobs were my first clue! I've never been blessed in that department and then there they were!

Sounds as if we're having fairly similar experiences so far! Quite reassuring for me, I have no idea what to expect or what's 'normal'

Stircrazy1984 · 16/01/2015 21:58

Hi everyone, not on here that often and loads of posts...just sending positive thoughts to everyone.

Thanks Boo, still can't believe I'm pregnant, and I thought symptom checking for pregnancy was bad enough.

I'm 4+4 and my boobs have been hurting on and off all week as well as discomfort in my stomach. Flyingspud I feel for you, I have been so gassy today I farted loudly in my office Blush by pure luck I was the only person in there.phew! I've got a big appetite and get out of breath easily, I'm slim and usually run to my bus everyday but just walking can wind me at the moment. Is it normal to have all these symptoms so early on?

I'm feeling a bit downhearted as my doc won't even make an appointment to see me until I'm 6 weeks and it makes me scared what could go wrong in the next week. I am so desperate for a 12 week scan to see jelly bean and make sure everything is OK, time is going to drag :s

whereswaldo · 16/01/2015 22:48

Hi, can I join before this thread is maxed out? I'm 4 +2 so super early days and already feeling impatient! One question I can't find an answer to is when to complete the self refferal form for hospital to get booking appointments etc. I figure now is too early but is it better to be 'in the system'?

Stats: 31 years old, first pregnancy and 4 + 2 EDD 23 Sept

TerrysNo3 · 16/01/2015 22:53

I've started a new thread so we don't run out of space... so move on over and let's continue this amazing journey together! Smile
